I absolutely love the ambience of this establishment and the fact that they actually care about others and want to make sure that we are protected as patrons during these trying times. This is a quaint place to grab some coffees and they do serve oat milk which I totally appreciate! I also had their cheeseburger and their wedge salad which was absolutely fantastic! I love wedge salads and I have to say their wedge salad was the bomb! The service is prompt and helpful and I love their outdoor patio set up. If I lived closer I would come here every day!! Brandin and Gary really made me feel welcome and were beyond impeccable with their service!
Not much can be found on a lighter side of the menu, so opted for a coconut slice, and the topping was so sweet O scraped it off, ate the bottom. Tried to give the sugar coated coconut shreds to the sparrows hopping around, and they didn’t want it either. The side of fruit served was not good either, pineapple was white and along with cantaloupe underripe. And the flies are landing constantly on the OJ and fruitlfly hover on the plates. Perhaps on a hungry side the food may be better but probably won’t try again.
Post ida and during covid visit update :I love the way these guys do breakfast and was curious to see how ida n covid changed the things they do .I was pleasantly surprised by how safe I felt here to dine with my kid and dog .They require proof of vaccination even if you sitting outside. They set up our table very safely apart from other folks who were sitting out there : sadly we were seated at a slope which made things hard for kids to eat and manage their drink cups .I am in love with how the food tasted and how good they were with attending to us .Note : pet friendly (would cater to pet friendly egg order )
Great coffee and breakfast options.Really great covid regulations, requiring a mask inside and proof of vaccination. As you can tell from the negative reviews, this keeps the Karen and Kyle crowds out which makes it a much nicer and safer environment for the majority.Would absolutely recommend.
First, Ill say our waitress was very kind, and her personality is what took this review from a 4 to a 5. The big girl bloody Mary is delicious without going too crazy over the top. I tried the catfish bene, and the fruit was a very good side. The catfish Benedict wasnt very flavorful for me, but I still ate everything. What really made our morning was the waitress though. One of the patrons in our group bought her a shot. I hope she had it when she got off her shift. Thanks for being so great.
My girlfriend and I stopped here on our way from FL to AZ to get breakfast and take a break from driving. The second we walk in we’re told with an attitude and a dirty look by the male hostess we need masks. He then asks if we want food or want to eat in the same tone of voice which made us pause for a second... haha. We respond enthusiastically and say we’d like to get some food and ask if they happen to have masks we could wear and he instantly replies with “also we need proof of vaccination” in an annoyed tone. We completely respect their rules and regulations however, even if we were masked and vaccinated, we would’ve turned around and walked out due to the negative vibes he gave off. I’m more so giving the guy a 1 star review. The food did look good!
Great experience here! Our waiter Drew was super attentive to us. We were seated immediately upon arrival outside seating and even though we didnt have reservations spur of the moment they found a perfect spot for us! First off we ordered the Bloody Mary! What a burst of refreshing energy packed in that cup garnished with veggies! For breakfast we enjoyed the chicken fried steak with potatoes. So delicious with whole cloves of garlic and onions delicately tossed in. Weather was perfect nice and cool... out of many visits to NOLA, this one was in my top 10!
Who Dat Coffee Cafe might be among the best breakfasts in the city and nobody talks about it. Any egg dish is delicious. The special crab pie is fantastic. The remoulade is the perfect sauce topper. The staff is wonderful and memorable. Outdoor seating is required as of this review so be sure to take weather into account. Thats all you need to plan for because you will be receiving a delicious meal.
This is one of my favorite places in my city. As a local, I enjoy breakfast here frequently. When I go for my morning walks before work, I love to stop in for a coffee and talk with the staff. The food is amazing - I constantly crave the corn cakes, I DREAM about them, and have even had the bartender/barista name a drink for me to ask for personally by name. This business keeps the locals AND tourists in high spirits, even when going through the darkest of times. I have heard that they’ve been given flack for trying to keep their staff, their city, and their clients safe. I support you and all of the small businesses in New Orleans who are doing what they can to keep the food, the culture, the economy of the place they love a priority. I love this place, the people who work here and will always give my support!
Poor service and rude owner..When my group arrived here I opened the front door without stepping in in order to ask if we could be seated outside. The host rudely yelled at me to put a mask on. My intention was to sit outside to avoid digging out a mask but rather then simply tell me I could go ahead and have a seat the host wouldnt answer me until I put one on. He then told me I could sit at 2 tables. Half of my group was already there and we took a seat at one table. The server walked by our table twice but did not greet us. The rest of my group arrived and took a seat at the other table. They had a separate server that brought them water immediately. My table continued to wait so I went to ask if we had a server coming. A server told me he would be right with us. I apologized but told him my boyfriend needed to get to the airport soon. He brought waters to our table. At that time he took our food and drink order. The second table had their food order taken about 5 minutes after us. All of their food came out more than 10 minutes before ours. After waiting a total of 45 minutes after giving our order by boyfriend went in to ask them to box our food and pay the bill as we no longer had time to eat. It seemed that the slow service was purposeful as we were overlooked several times.I was also not impressed with the food. Small portions and over priced.Once learning of my poor experience I was contacted by the owner. Rather then apologize for the bad experience he berated and name called me for writing the review.I do not recommend this restaurant.
I had to come on here and share my story. This place was so GREAT. The staff was great, especially our server Dreux. My family and a few friends visited for my birthday breakfast and they treated us so well. The food was amazing. I had the De Mandeville omelet and Im not sure what they did to it but it was so damn good. The sauce they add to it was superb. I highly recommend visiting here. Their prices were very reasonable as well and great portion sizes.
I just left this place and still haven’t wiped the corner of my mouth. I felt obligated to review. Not only is the food delicious, the service is great. They were so friendly. The decor visually appealing along with the dishes. We’ve already decided to return tomorrow. Bonus: they offer military discount and the gentleman at the register thanked me for my service.
In a city known for great food, the best place to start your day is Who Dat. Its great for grabbing a quick coffee and a breakfast sandwich to fuel a long day of walking. Maybe you had a bit of a long night and need a good Bloody Mary and some amazing Not Yo Mamas Corn Cakes. Perhaps youre looking for a comfortable place to just relax and have a BLT mid-day. The friendly staff, welcoming vibe, cozy ambience, wonderfully made drinks and delicious food will place you into the perfect mindset to take on the rest of your day. Whether that day consists of touring the city, lounging on the couch, parkour running over the city sidewalks, or the most popular New Orleans pastime.......sweating from simply stepping outside.... Who Dat will get you through it.
I love this place and have been coming here for years now! Food is delicious and coffee is great. I love the outdoor seating and its also cozy inside with a great relaxed vibe. The staff are friendly and everyone is welcoming. I couldnt ask for a better neighborhood cafe.
I absolutely love WhoDat Cafe! The staff is always warm and inviting. It’s like having breakfast with family. The food is absolutely delicious and their daily specials will knock your socks off. . The owner Craig is always there and he makes sure each and every one of his customers feel at home. Give this place a try!
I really enjoyed this cafe. It came highly recommended by my friend and it didn’t disappoint. The server was pretty attentive to my frequent requests for coffee refills etc. The coffee quality, in my opinion, was fine but not great. They score major points when it comes to the dishes. I had a quiche with crab/gulf shrimp. It was so delicious. I also tried the biscuit with mango jam and it was ok. Not the best but not bad either. I liked that all the food was fresh and hot and the portion was quite sizable and filling.
Who Dat Coffee and Cafe never disappoints. As always the burger was delicious...definitely one of the best around. And of course never a complaint about their service!
I use to love this place but I feel that everyone is using the pandemic as an excuse to not work or do anything. I always get the fried chicken steak breakfast with egg white. I cant do yoke I throw up. Ordered this exact meal three times during pandemic. Called today to place the same order and they said they dont do egg white since the pandemic. Lies!!!! So you cant take the yoke out of two eggs on a Monday before 8am with no breakfast rush. GTFOH Im Industry in this town and that is a joke. So who didnt show up or is on the H in the back and cant handle scooping out two egg yokes.Sad. I wont be going here and will tell all my local friends and my guests and my restaurant to not go there! I dont usually write these since I work in this industry and its usually Karens complaining. But Im over local places using this pandemic as an excuse to be lazy. Dont go here its not the same and they dont deserve your money if they are too good to honor a request they have always done. Even during pandemic!
Found this little gem in the Marigny district. Food delicious and staff were great. Many thanks to Craig and his staff- a definite plus to our weekend visit!
This is my favorite neighborhood cafe in the city. The food is delicious and the staff goes above and beyond! I love the fact that they are trying to keep the citizens of our city safe by checking vaccination cards. Times like these are not easy for small businesses. This place is a gem!
Place is great, nice set up and the best I enjoyed my breakfast!!
This is my favorite spot in the Marigny. The staff is amazing, the food is excellent, and the ambiance is delightful. The lattes are perfect (I’m picky about lattes). They are also dog friendly which is a major plus. And in a pandemic they have continue to put their customers and staffs safety first. Love you guys!!!!❤️❤️❤️
Excellent cold brew, awesome staff and great food. I visit there frequently and never disappoints. Awesome small business and local spot
Great food, I had the Not your Mamas Corn Cake and it was really good. They did not cheap out on the cheese as it was smothered in cheese, bacon, and green onion and the cornbread was perfect. I didnt have the fried Catfish but I saw it being delivered to a others table and it was a nice large fillet that looked perfectly fried, got to try that next time.
I love this place and it’s a great spot to run into my favorite local artists. I’m happy to do my part to keep them and my community safe by observing whatever covid protocols they require which also keeps me safe. Thanks for being such an important and welcoming meeting spot for so many.
Great local place! Loved when I lived a block away and worth the little drive now. Love love love that they promoted community safety before it was required.
Found this nice spots that has amazing desert and amazing breakfast. For me personally I always have dessert before a meal. Most moist carrot cake with a blueberry almond cream cheese bar. For breakfast I had not your mama corn cake with to poach eggs a cup of sausage gravy in one with a French press coffee
Love everything about this place and the people who run it!! The food is terrific, and the staff is wonderful. I also love that they are putting safety first-- EVERYONES safety-- and required proof of vaccination even before the City of NO required it.
They believe that the business demand is strong enough to turn down over 80% of the population who believes vaccine mandates shouldn’t be required to simply enjoy food. During hurricane recovery, during an economic downturn. Wishing them all the luck, they’ll need it.
I ate here twice when visiting to New Orleans last week and it was hard to go anywhere else for breakfast. They had a pulled pork Benedict special that was delicious! But when I came back I had the Da St. Phillip and it was incredible! I’m at home now still thinking about it. The staff was very friendly, whipped me up a bougie iced coffee. I really appreciated their vaccine stance and giving their customers a safe place to eat as well. I can’t wait to go back ❤️
First visit for the wife and me. We loved the food and the service. Very comfortable and funky decor. Must be vaccinated to eat indoors, but outdoor seating is available and comfortable.
Best. Omelette. Ever. The feta cheese alone is to die for! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, vaccination required for indoor dining. Perfect breakfast experience.
Every time Im in New Orleans we visit Who Dat and cannot be happier or prouder that they are keeping their staff safe.5 star food5 star service0/5 stars for Cindy or those like Cindy.
They have the best crustless garden quiche you will ever eat! Who Dat is a locally owned and run business. I cannot recommend it enough
Best breakfast in New Orleans. Simple but very tasty food. You know its good when there is a crowd outside. Still, it did not take long at all to be seated. Crawfish omellette was superb. The $5 mimosas were the reason we went and they were very big and tasty. The food stole the show.
One word to describe this place. . . Phenomenal! From the service to the food to atmosphere, every aspect of my visit exceeded expectations! The staff was exceptionally warm and friendly. The food looked amazing and tasted even better. And nothing was more relaxing then eating outdoors on a warm Sunday morning. I thoroughly recommend this place!
The BEST Brunch! I love the outdoor seating! The Veggie Omelet was AWESOME 😋
Delicious food and friendly service! Appreciate all of the safety measures they have put in place. Try the bloodies and the m Ill mimosas! 💜🍹
Nice neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. Really good jellies!
A small cafe in the Marigny, recommended to us by a resident. We were so pleased by our meal and the service (so friendly and helpful.) Dont miss the Corn Cakes...to die for. We will be back.
This place is Phenomenal!!!! If you are a tourist to this great city.....and in search of a good breakfast place ripe with locals——this is it. Saturday 9:45am.French Press Coffee AChicken Fried Steak A (I’m a native Texan so this is a high honor)Wait Staff A+Chocolate Chip Cookie ALocal Flavor AOverall A. In my opinion the best breakfast spot in NOLA.My wife got banana pancakes and loved them.
We loved this brunch spot. They have everything youd expect, great service and food, and fairly priced. Their big girl bloody hits the spot! Great location if youre staying near frenchmen street.
We drove over from Biloxi Mississippi, the customer service was amazing, the food was good the burger stole my heart, the coffee was the highlight for my companion, BEST HOSPITALITY IN NEW ORLEANS, I love the outdoor seating, we will definitely come back to visit soon......They were very clean & staffed no long waits!!
Fantastic spot for coffee and a snack. Bonus points for being so fabulous in their Covid19/Delta response; I will always return to places that keep my safety-and the safety of their staff- a priority.
Absolutely EXCELLENT! Best corner cafe in the city, and they make a mean Bloody Mary too! Love the staff and the location❤
The food is really great. I tried their breakfast burrito and it was awesome. They also have freshly cut fries which was one of the best I ever had. Their ambience is also very nice. They have outside sitting as well as inside. The quality of service is also praiseworthy. Would definitely visit this place again and highly recommend to anyone.
Maybe the most consistent breakfast spot in New Orleans. Very tasty.
We were in town and ended up eating there every day, great food. We ordered corn cakes, eggs and sausage with grits (the grits are fabulous) catfish, and they have homemade jam. Pretty much everything is yummy, plus great coffee and adult beverages. The food is served by terrific staff and they are kid friendly.
Delicious, filling breakfast. Very friendly, easygoing vibe. Some typically only in New Orleans options that all looked awesome. Good place to have a nice yummy brunch with lots of chit chat.
Stellar service and Brandon rocks. Leave minimal 50% tips because COVID and the hurricane have hurt the fine pillars of the community
Great little relaxing spot. Pancakes were good and fluffy. Wasnt impress with the cajun scramble. Wasnt bad, just wasnt anything special. But the Not Your Mama Corn cake was delicious. Highly satisfied with that dish and itd be a great reason to come back to grab just that dish and some coffee.Coffee itself was decent and felt a little weak for my hard coffee taste buds. Some of the flavor was a little too sweet for us. The coffee did come in this cute giant coffee cup. Service was a little slow but the staff were super friendly. Owner/Chef came out to say hi to people which is always a good thing.Overall we had a pleasant experience with this place. I really recommend you guys try the not your mama corn cake.
Love their Wedge Salad and Veggie Burger! The bread on the Veggie Burger is so soft and delicious. Great fries too!
The green haired person that works there is super cool and the food is amazing
Who Dat is a perfect example of a great Local, Neighborhood Stop. Caring ownership, friendly and attentive staff, great food and positive community interactions and support.Kind of place we need more of. 👍😁👍
Outstanding food. Service was perfect. Learned some history of the area by the staff. Oh by the way a killer bloody Mary. This is a must place for breakfast.
Wonderful place - even nicer now that Cindy Davis stopped going there.
Top notch spot with top notch food and service. Best brunch spot in the city!
A must go. Food was yummy, Service exceptional. If visiting the city, hop on the bus and make your way over to this gem. Im glad we went.
I love the Corn Cakes. Keep up the good work!
Our server was amazing, she was very attentive and just a treat to interact with. Food was amazing.
Nice little spot for some breakfast! Good prices and nice friendly staff. Would definitely go back again.
Restaurant was awesome. Great customer service and atomoshpere. Definitely would come here again. 👍👍
The food was very good and the service was excellent. I had the half biscuit and sausage gravy which was the perfect size and very well seasoned. The Da Mandeville omlete was very good although the egg was slightly overcooked. It is a nice little spot not off the main drag, I recommend.
Hands down my favorite brunch spot in the Marigny. 🧡
Great food, great service. One of my favorites.
Ive been coming here since they first opened as a small neighborhood coffee shop. The owner has done an amazing job managing and expanding the business. Always first stop when I go back and visit.
Ordered the patty melt (very good) and the Reuben (not so good). Two stars for the patty melt and the food runner. Our server (slim man w/short black hair) was very inattentive and seemed overwhelmed and forgetful. Forgot cream and sugar until asked for the coffee. Brought me a cranberry juice in the bottle but no glass/ice. Kept gliding past our table and asking if we were ok but never really stopped. Had to ask the runner (beanie/blondish hair) for things. He was very attentive. And should be serving! Our server also took awhile to bring to go boxes and the check. He came out to hand another table their check, no boxes insight, walks past us and over his shoulder tells us the boxes will be coming right up. Not busy enough for this sort of forgetfulness. I had to go inside and ask for a bag.Overall, decent place for tourists but theres better places to go for breakfast with better service. The menu is a bit expensive here as well for items you can get at any diner. I think the wait staff needs a bit more training on multitasking to sharpen up a bit.
