Lance loves making guitars sound better than they did before he worked on them. As a player I have asked him for honest advice about my instrument and he was respectful, courteous and very knowledgeable. I would trust him to build or repair a guitar, bass etc for me.
I’ve brought my guitars to a lot of different lutheries over the years. While asking other players, trying to find the best one to go to, Acreman Guitars was the recommendation 8 out of 10 times. The other times was someone saying they could do it, or “I know a guitar tech that could set ya up.”When I say he was recommended I mean he was recommended by touring artist who RELY on a job to be done right. The first time. Nothing is worse than when you get out on the road and a week later ya start to notice those little things that one doesn’t have the time to sit in a shop and go over.EVERY time I have used Lance he was quick to get started, would give advise on what he felt my need attention that I didn’t notice, and he’s gotten the jobs done when he said he would get them done.I could go on, but in short, I have always loved getting an instrument back from Lance. It just makes me love the instrument even more with how it feels and sounds.Great job, Lance. Thanks for your craftsmanship and care I feel you put into the work you do.
I take my vintage guitars and basses to Lance and only Lance. I drive 4 hours each way and pass about 30 other guitar shops in order to get there. If that doesn’t tell you what you need to know, nothing will. I’ll try anyway since you’ve read this much... Lance knows his stuff. He makes my gear sing and thus makes me a better player. On top of all that, he’s a hell of a guy. Do yourself a favor and get to know this shop. Pro Tip: you never know who you might see there. 🤩
Lance is THE guy to take your guitars to in Nashville. Over the years I have brought him all kinds of instruments in need of repair and he has always exceeded expectations. Super knowledgeable. Super skilled. Super friendly.
Absolutely recommend this guy if you’re anywhere near the area and in need of guitar repair. Extensive knowledge in his field and cares for the customer too. 5 stars above and beyond.
Top quality work, and craftsmanship. Lance has high expectations of his work, and it shows. He even helped my friend whose late husbands vintage Yairi was left out in a storm by an airline, it survived the ordeal.I’ve taken acoustic and electric guitars, including a 12 string, and now a ukulele to his shop. They all have returned playing better than ever.
Terrible experience with Acreman guitars. He took my guitar for a refinish job, had it for 9 months and when I got it back the body was essentially ruined - it was covered in gouges (from a paint scraper), the finish is full of hairs and scratches, and under the clear coat there are black and red paint splatters (on a white guitar). Long story short, I was given a refund but that doesnt change the fact that the guitar will never be the same again.
Lance is not only one of the best guitar techs in the business, he is one of the most genuine, fair, and straightforward businessmen you are likely to find. His work and resume speaks for itself (Alabama, Jason Isbell, John Prine), but do yourself a favor and get a guitar set up or repaired. You’ll be happy you did!
Need guitar repair? Look no further. These guys do fantastic work!!!! The only place I take my gear
My Mexican strat had a great neck but a cheap tone. Lance customized it and made it wail! Thanks buddy.
Most legit spot in Nashville when you’re having guitar issues. Incredible and careful work done at a fast pace, highly recommend!
Had Lance make a custom Precision Bass with a Jazz Neck. This bass sounds and plays as good as it looks!
Lance and his crew are miracle workers. They will take anything, and make it better and take pride and pay attention to detail.
The absolute BEST in the business!
Great customer service. Seriously. He went above and beyond.
Amazing craftmanship.
