I went through the Costco program that utilizes Great Western Flooring and couldnt be happier. I was connected with Matt Lynch who came out to measure, show carpet samples, and provide the quote. Working with Matt was easy and efficient, he was very accommodating to what we wanted and timing to complete the job. Once we placed our order with Matt he continued to work with us to keep us updated and make sure we met our desired install date. Once the carpet was in, the install was scheduled immediately and for the following week. The installers (Hugo, Javier, and Daniel) showed up on-time and were very professional the entire time. The initial estimate was 2 days to install the carpet but they worked very efficiently and were able to complete the install in a long single day. We appreciated this and couldnt be happier with our new carpet. I would strongly recommend Great Western Flooring to anyone looking for a quality company and people to work with, I will use them for any additional needs.

Great Western Flooring was fantastic! I added hardwood floors throughout my second floor. We looked at tons of places for tile for 2 bathrooms were redoing. GWF had the best selection and lots and LOTS of unique accent tile. Joanna was wonderful to work with -- providing expert advice and always helpful. GWF will be our first stop if we ever need to tile anything again. The job was delayed, apparently due to a vehicle breakdown. We thought the salesperson was knowledgeable and did a nice job. Installation went well and the crew was prompt and hard working. On the whole we were well pleased.

Their communication about the flooring materials was superb, they alerted us that the materials were on back order, when in, they called to set up delivery. Great scheduling and customer service by Van. The installation was the opposite. Guy came to measure before I ordered. They ran out of flooring! I had to wait for more to come in, delaying my move in. Also, I asked for wood floor vents to match and they never made it into the order. They Left huge long baseboards (which were supposed to be left off) with nails all over them in my master bath, so I couldn’t use that bathroom and I couldn’t carry them out myself. Disappointing experience all the way around.

Even during the time of COVID, I received amazing service. I love the new carpeting. The sales person was very informative and, while we never met, he was very responsive to my many changes in the order. The installer were thorough, experienced, respectful of safety procedures and nice. Great experience, great carpet, great price.

It was a tight schedule to get the carpeting laid for my new tenant, but the guys at great Western went out of their way to move the date so that we all had a little breathing room. The men who came to lay the carpet were efficient, courteous, and kind to my son who has Asburgers. They cleaned up after themselves and left the room in move-in condition.

Very nice store with tile choices that are not at other stores. The sales rep LJ was a big help. There was a delivery delay(out of great westerns control) and she was able to get things moving faster. All around good experience.

2 Workers came at 8:00 to rip out old carpeting. Wore masks were very good. Later 2 more workers came without masks. Our whole lower level was recarpetted. They finished at one clock. Very efficient. Love the new carpet and the pad is phenomenal! Happy with them.

The install was a bit delayed because the carpet we picked, was not delivered to the warehouse on time, but after waiting a few days, it was delivered, and installed. The installers were very polite, worked very hard, and they were fast! Our entire house was completed in two days..They moved all furniture, then put it all back exactly where it had been. Dana did an awesome consultation with us where she really took our style into account and gave us some great recommendations that we never would have thought of, and for a very reasonable price. The installation was quick, though there was one little area that seemed uneven. Dana came out to personally inspect it and while there wasnt much that could be done to fix it (it was just how our floors sat), I appreciated that they took the time to investigate.

Have used GWF for years for all my tile, carpet and wood flooring needs. Recently replaced the carpeting on my lower level. As always, Lauren was beyond helpful with carpet style and color. GWF pricing is fair, the installation went smoothly and I was even able to have carpeting on my second level re-stretched. Would highly recommend working with GWF!

I bought Luxury Vinyl Flooring (LVF) and quartz contertops from Great Western Flooring Co. The LVF quotation process provided by Gerade was detailed and transparent. Marcos LVF installation team was industrious and professional. MY LVF experience was 5 stars. I enjoy my Cambria quartz countertops from Great Western Flooring, but the quotation and installation process was complicated with the use of Great Western Floorings countertop installation contractor. The communication wasnt clear upfront what the installation charges were to have my old countertop removed, that I had to sign a waiver for not moving my stove before the new countertops were installed, and that I had to schedule a plumber to install my new kitchen sink faucet and reinstall my garbage disposal. My countertop experience was 3 stars.

Love Laurie in St. Charles location! She has been extremely honest and helpful when discussing carpet color & brand. They also did a beautiful job refinishing our floors.

We have had the worst experience with over pricing and a hardwood floor that is a complete disaster on a new construction home. How it passed inspection for closing? Completely covered with cardboard. A month later we have had no help and the inspector is out of town. Seriously? Do not work with these people. It has been a mess from day one

We needed a runner for our hardwood stairs because we kept slipping and falling. I was so nervous about picking a pattern because most carpets are gaudy, traditional style. Lauren and Shay set aside a ton of samples for me at the Naperville store to look at and even let me bring them home for a few days to hem and haw over. Im in love with the pattern we ended up choosing because it’s simple, trendy, yet timeless! The measurement process was quick and easy - Shay came to our home and was done in 15 minutes, and even took the carpet samples back to the store for us. Installation was also very painless; they were done in about 2 hours and left the unused material for us, which Lauren offered to turn into a matching area rug. Thank you for curing our FOBO, GWF!

Totally disappointed and wont be back.Went to GW at request of our remodeler despite a couple of previous encounters where GWs sales reps were disappointing. Well, this time was no different. I initially called the rep our builder suggested - left a message and two days later no response from her. So, contacted the other sales rep - LJ - and was able to set up an appointment. Without any hesitation we selected the tile we wanted and clearly laid out our needs. We didnt set a price limit nor any restrictions but rather selected tile we liked. In total, we were in the store about 15 minutes and finalized our order. So this was probably the easiest sale GW had made in a while. After our visit no follow up from GW. As we were finalizing details with our remodeler I asked about tile status - they had heard nothing from GW. This was 45 days after our visit. Our remodeler contacted GW to find out where things were at and finalize the order. Apparently nothing had been done until then because we received a call from LJ after our remodeler had contacted her. She called to let us know that the tile we selected could not be used for the purpose we specd out and that wed have to select another tile. 45 Days later! The explanation was that the display board did not contain specific enough information so LJ didnt know it wouldnt work. Unbelievable. After clearly laying out what we needed and timeline, GW let things go until they were contacted again and at that time did what should have been done initially, and requested by us, verify availability and functionality. Poor, poor customer service. We will not be buying our tile from GW and wont be back.

In the last few years, my husband and I have taken on some pretty major DIY projects to update our 33 year old home. All of the original flooring and tile in our home, which had withheld the test of time while raising 4 children, was from GWF. It was a no-brainer for us to check them out once again, and we are so happy we did! Lauren, Dana and Brianna were not only knowledgable, professional, and full of great ideas, but they were also very patient, fun and delightful to work with! They absolutely took the stress away from us and gave us the confidence we were making good decisions along the way. We are so pleased with the end results....if we live another 30 years (haha), we will be reaching out to GWF again! :)

The installation was completed well and in a timely fashion.

Price for the product is fair and that is the only thing about this company that is fair. Their sales people are frauds, their team does not speak english so you cannot communicate with them. They bully you into additional fees once the work begins. They are never timely with their jobs as to when they start their day or when they will finish the project. Please stay away from this chain and do not buy into it b/c they are associated with Costco. Costco has made a grave mistake associating themselves with a company run simply for profits and no customer service.

One of the ABSOLUTE WORSE experiences we have ever had. Sales rep dropped the ball BIG TIME and we ended up paying the price by having our house in disarray for upwards to 9 weeks. No mention was made about vent covers to match the flooring until the day we went in to sign the contract. Got prices, discussed it and made the decision we wanted to go with flush mounted vents before we even left the store. We were told they would just add it as an addendum to the contract. We left and never thought much more about it, figuring that they would take care of it. We just thought about the work ahead of packing up dishes and all kinds of other stuff that was in cabinets in the 4 rooms and where the heck it was all going to go. About 3 or so weeks later they contacted us with an installation date. Installation was to take 3 – 4 days. All was OK except we found out the vents hadn’t come in. Later we found out they hadn’t even been ordered. The crew that installed the flooring did an OK job but they didn’t speak, let alone understand, more than a couple of words of English. And there didn’t seem to be anyone in charge of the group. We asked them at one point about removing a unit that was in a closet as we hadn’t gotten around to doing it ourselves beforehand. They said they would take care of it. Well later on we looked and found carpet fibers near it and removed the unit ourselves, which we would have done if they hadn’t said they would do it, and found that they didn’t install the flooring under it but left the carpeting. They had to redo a good half of the closet to make it right. We didn’t find out that the vents hadn’t even been ordered for over a week later. Sales rep said she needed to measure for them. Personally, I would have thought that vents would have been on their punch list to quote for immediately and then the customer could decide if they wanted the added expense or not. Anyway, she never asked about the vents to start with and then blames us claiming they were inaccessible. Which was a lie, had she ever asked I would have pointed them out if she didn’t see them herself. Anyway it took yet another week or so before she gets here to measure. Then she tells us we can’t have flush mounted vents since the flooring was down. We were about to tell her to rip it up at their expense because she was told what we wanted and if she knew this was a problem then the vents should have been ordered and the installation delayed until they came in. But no. A manager stepped in at this point and said they could be done BUT it would be harder to do and she would have to find the right person to do it. Vents were to take up to 10 BUSINESS days to be made and then shipped to the store (roughly 3 weeks). Took another week before they made an appointment to install them – person never showed up. Wasted my day when I had to wait on someone else to come later in the day. They told us that the vents didn’t fit. Based on what we heard of their conversation in Spanish, it sounded like they didn’t have a clue how to install them. They apparently thought they were drop in vents. We looked at the color and it didn’t match at all. So it took another couple of weeks for them to fix the vents in house to match the flooring and then send someone to install them. The person sent was very rude to us and scratched up freshly painted walls. When we told GW they blew it off. For what we were spending on the flooring I would have expected a better service and response from them. We still have three bedrooms and a hallway to be done and guess what, it won’t be Great Western getting the business. this all started in May and finally got finished in either late Aug or early Sept. Its going to take a year to get things back to normal.

We had two rooms of carpet put in by GWF. Looks great! They did a nice job. Will use them again.

Unscrupulous business practices. Not only did they try to charge us for leveling product they didnt use but they destroyed the finish on the floor during installation and there are gaps everywhere between floor boards. How these guys are in business is beyond me.

As the installers of Great Western Flooring were installing over $5,000 of new carpeting in my home, they damaged my 2-week old newly refinished wood floor with a deep 4-foot scratch and also dented a wooden door. GWF accepted the responsibility; but the damage was severe as the repair did not remove the scratch. GWF was aware the scratch was deep and a repair may not be sufficient. They ignored any further assistance stating they did their best.Here is their verbatim: “At the end of the day, we always do our best to make the remodeling process as seamless and enjoyable as we can for our customers. However, in virtually all cases, they experience inconvenience that is sometimes preventable, but often times not. Either way, inconvenience is part of any remodeling job.”So do you want them in your home to do damage and walk away stating it’s just an inconvenience to be expected during remodeling?

This is for the Oswego GWF location: Had laminate floor installed. Poor sales support: (1) salesperson forgot to include extra molding for new floor area so installers did not have it when they showed up, so...they had to schedule another installer to come back approximately 2 weeks later and I had to miss work again. (2) salesperson did not explain or give us options for door thresholds - they were going to install quarter round which looked ugly; I wanted threshold similar to floor-carpet interface. So...they had to order that for the other installer. (3) salesperson did not mention when we ordered flooring that we were to supply stain and finish for the molding - it was on one of the notes in the invoice as CS - customer supplied. So...I had to run to Menards for some stain and finish while the installer was there waiting. Now: GWF knows what color I have and should know what matches and what does not and they could finish it beforehand and have it ready to install, but noooo...they want me to match it and have only myself to blame if it doesnt. Plus the installer has to wait for it to dry before installing! I think this is very poor service on their part. On the plus side, the flooring is nice and all of the installers were very nice and professional.
