Hattori Vision is a remarkably kind, effective, and service-oriented optometry office. My glasses needed adjusting (to not fall off) when we were sightseeing in Monterey for the day. An optician at a chain had said they couldnt fix them. Then I called Hattori. Mai took my call, patiently listened, and said I could drop them off and, if someones schedule allowed, they would advise me about repair. Richard helped me with remarkable courtesy and restored the frame precisely and skillfully. What a relief! Thank you, Mai, Richard, and the Hattori Vision office. What a blessing!

I met Dr. Covie Gonzalez due to an emergency. I found him and his staff extremely accommodating. He knew to send me to a cornea specialist and I appreciated his honesty. I am not from the area. I was delighted when I received a phone call from Dr. Gonzalez a couple days later to check on me. What a caring person. He is great!!

Almost twenty-five years ago when I got the urge to wear contacts instead of glasses, a friend referred me to Hattori Vision. From the way the staff greeted me, explained everything they were doing, the initial meeting of the Doctors for the eye exam and contact fitting, I knew I had found THE Eye Doctor Office for ME. Since then I have become fast friends with a lot of the staff, most of them knowing me by name as soon as I walk in the door. The office is so much fun (I want to work there!!) ... they have contests, outings, BBQs, even a cookbook where patients got to submit their favorite recipes! They are a happy office TEAM (and it SHOWS!). I have recommended several friends and clients to them and I would never go elsewhere.

I live in Arizona but I was traveling through Monterey and I ripped one of my contacts. Hattori not only got my prescription, they had contacts in stock for me which is a kind of odd prescription with astigmatism and have them ready for me quickly and didn’t even charge me. No one can fit contacts like Dr. Ellie Hattori - a true professional. She has improved my vision with contacts (and I am hard to fit due to astigmatism). I can recommend this office wholeheartedly.

I chose Hattori Vision as my first stop in eye care, over ten years ago. As an established family business, lifetime neighborly friendliness draws me thru their convenient front door, where I remain a loyal- friendly- sighted -neighbor with my best smile on.
