Honestly was a simple experience as long as you know what you need and are getting.I pre-booked and registered online and check out was snip-snap simple.Danielle was super helpful and explained everything in detail and answered any questions I had.

We were extremely happy with the service and products that we got at this U-haul location. They installed our trailer hitch well and it didnt cost us very much at all. We also used this location twice for a moving truck and large appliance dollies to move in the Central Valley during 2017 and 2020. Would definitely go back to this location in the future!

At pick up, I told Alex the van cargo was dirty . By the time I got home (5 mins). I notice the cab was disgusting. Dog/human hair, spilled liquid, used tissue and a horrible funk smell. I was so nauseated.Returning 3 hours later and I attempted to let Alex know- I was greeted with a condescending, head shaking, smirking faced employee who stated you should have said something. I have never had a problem prior. After this I will never step into a uhaul again. AND I was not looking for a credit.

The engine light came on. I put 25 in gas. Went back to the uhaul and they said it was ok to drive. But with no A/C. It was hot and it ran rough. If I got a new truck. I would loose my money for gas. It smelled like Marijuana in the back. I wasnt happy.

Ridiculous service. Wouldnt extend my rental because other people need the truck too. It doesnt make sense. Wouldnt honor my reservation for a second truck either. I had to take my business elsewhere, gave it to Penske instead. I rented two trucks for 1k for four days. Not from U Haul though. They said I was not important enough.

I needed trailer parking lights. I went to the dealership. I was told Id have to pay the dealership extra to have a mechanic advise me what parts I needed and how to install them. The parts they thought I needed were $200.00 plus. I decided to check elsewhere. I went to U Haul on McHenry in Modesto. The general manager (Danielle) came out to my vehicle, she climbed under it, and then checked the rear compartments to determine what parts I needed. She offered to order the parts and to talk me through how to install them when they arrived. The parts kit cost me $50.00. Danielle later helped me complete the installation. Hats off, applause and kudos to Danielle for her knowledge and commitment to her customer and employer.

Dont use this uhaul location! I had scheduled a rental of a 10-foot cargo van and right before I was supposed to pick it up they called and told me the cargo van I had reserved had been in a wreck. Then they said they would have to give me a truck because thats all they had. I told them I couldnt do the truck because I needed to move my cal King size bed. They said I needed to go to Public storage down the street where they would give me a 15 foot cargo van and charge me the same rate. I got there at the public storage where they directed me to go and they said they didnt have any 15 foot cargo vans and that they only had a regular sized van. Needless to say I am not able to move my king size bed which is the reason I reserved a U-Haul in the first place. And i have to be out of my apartment today. They were not accommodating at all and basically told me I dont know what to tell you, youll have to check back at a later date and well see if we have something bigger for you. One of the customer service reps on the phone even laughed at me. Dont use these guys they are so unorganized and rude and when they are making mistakes themselves.

U-Haul is by far one of the worst companies I have ever had to use. They charged me twice and then are trying to tell me it takes 3 to 5 days to get the money back over drawing my account. Now Im getting service fees every day until they decide to release my money. Did not tell me at the time that they were going to charge me twice I got the initial charge and then they said they would only charge me an additional $20 turned out to be $200. The very rude people in the customer service told me that there is absolutely nothing that can be done. Lying horrible Corporation I would much rather haul my own car on my back then use a U-Haul again.

Rented 3 times feom them in 1 month. The final trip i reserved a 20ft with an auto transport, got a call day before confirming pick up in manteca thought thats not that bad then later that day got a call to pick it up in Lodi. Problems dont stop there. I downgraded to a 15 ft so i can pick them both up in modesto, when i got there the trailer and truck were already hooked up and given past experiences I took it as good. Later that day coming back from sonora elevation 3500 ft. I noticed there was no trailer lights. I called roadside assistance talked to a bunch of people waited 2 hours before being told it would be 90 min. I told them im running out of gas. Im running out of phone battery. Its 28 degrees outside i have a pregnant woman in the car can i just unhook and head off? They gave me authorization to do that. So i unhooked got back and got charged 200 bucks for a qrong destination drop off... Never will i use uhaul again, and never will i recommend uhaul again. I complained to corporate and they said it was a valid charge. B.S. how am i supposed to return equipment they authorized for tow? It makes no sense dont use this place.

The staff were very helpful. All my questions were answered and they had the box types I needed. With covid they are taking extra safety steps to keep you. Very polite.

The lady here acts like the trucks personally belong to her. I paid my deposit yes I was late but I lived across the street they could clearly see the trailer was still being used. She was ready to call the police. Damn I never wanted to keep it just browwer it. Too much drama!

Just got a call from a representative from uhaul my reservation is at 12pm today. “Sorry but we don’t have a truck for you, but we can get you one on Monday!” The cheerfulness is his voice as if he was doing me a favor was ridiculous. When asked informed that I couldn’t wait until Monday and had today to move the kind gentleman on the phone said he had a truck in Winston 2 hours away! And to top it off a smaller truck. In the end while all he did was kept repeating his textbook answer he relented that someone didn’t check the reservations and they were overbooked. Honesty at time of booking should have been the right option instead the rep told me to find a different moving company. Great customer service uhaul! If I could give a negative I would.

My daughter reserved a 20 truck for tomorrow and went to pick it up and the girl behind the counter said there is no truck. Asked us if we had conformation and we showed her. She said that she could give us $50 for our incovience. I said ok and she told us no she cant give us the money it would have to be her supervisor! Lousy way to do business!

This people didnt care to inform us that the truck was not available when we made the reservation 15 days in advance we have to move today and we dont have a truck what a shame of place.

Very poor customer service. I had a reservation placed on 10-5-18 for 10-7-18 at 8:00am mobile check out. I did not receive a call 10-6-18 to confirm reservation from local Uhaul. We arrive to pick up our van at 8:00am and the reservation wasnt processed. The mobile app tells you to call a 24/7 number that has a non local 707 area code. I called it, rang a few times, then went to voicemail where I left a message. I still havent received a call back. We go home and return after 9:00am because that’s when local office opens to figure out whats going on with our reservation. Braden admitted that he forgot to process it yesterday. I asked for the $50 reservation guarantee before accepting the van they had in the yard. Jasmine said she couldnt give it to me right then because her manager was off today. She told me she would call her manager and work it out before I returned the van. Fast forward to returning the van and Braden said he couldnt honor the $50 reservation guarantee because Jasmine used the existing reservation that he didnt process. He said the manager had not returned Jasmines call. He said he couldnt give me the $50 credit and I would have to return on Monday to speak to the manager Danielle to receive it. I already had extra trips to that location today and did not want to return another time. I told him no that I would call the number on the wall next to the vice presidents name Chris for West Sacramento. The lady on the phone was awesome and what I expected the customer service to be like at my local store. I explained to her what the problem was and she figured it out issuing a $50 credit to my card. Braden couldnt believe it and asked how she did it. I suggested to him that next time he should call that number and ask for assistance if he cant figure out how to issue a credit for the reservation guarantee. I suspect that the manager was not called at all and they were trying to cover up their mistake. My spouse and I have rented from this location several times, but never again.

Do not make your reservation on the phone when you call in to inquire. Hard core sales they want all your info and credit card to reserve. And no guarantee your uhaul will be available at location. Not Cool. Go in person!

Easy rental great service

We went to this location to buy moving boxes and this location a very nice selection! The girl working there was very helpful and she even helped us load the boxes we bought into our vehicle. I highly recommend U-haul for moving boxes they are very l sturdy, have handles and they come in all kinds of different sizes for different types things such as for pictures, lamps, dishes etc. Then theres the standard small, medium and large size boxes and they have mattress covers. You can also order boxes online.

Be careful and pay attention to your gas when you return here. I dont know if theres a malfunction in the trucks or its deliberate but every time Ive returned a truck here they said the gas was not full. This last time in June I topped off the gas in the truck before returning it (down there street even) and the woman still said it was a quarter short. I refused to pay the extra charges. She tried to argue with me but I had receipts.

Best Uhaul in town. And ONLY this location. They ONLY REASON this store is recommended is because the manager Danielle has the best personality and always is a pleasure to work with. She knows her store and ACTUALLY cares about the wellness of her customers. I strongly recommend that Uhaul takes notes from this manager and how she runs her store. Every single other location needs to a few pages out of her book. Thank you Danielle for the great service.

We needed to borrow a vehicle to transport my piano, and we only had that day to move it. We called in and they were very professional and polite! We got a truck quickly and were charged fairly! The only two complaints I have are: 1) The website said a certain truck was available, but it wasnt that day. I was told it was reserved. 2) The location makes it difficult to get to during certain times of day.Overall, they did a fantastic job helping us.

I reserved online a month in advance for my truck but the online service messed up our location pick up, and time. Thankfully I called 48 hrs in advance to check my reservation because I wouldnt have had a truck! Online customer service made sure to correct the mistake. This location was fast and friendly, just remember to CALL AHEAD to check FOR YOUR Reservation!!

Got a uhaul that was used by someone that harvested a lot of weed there were buds everywhere in the box truck thanks dudes good looking out i will dispose of all your trimming for free just let me know next harvest time

HORRIBLE customer service. Do not rent from uhaul. They gave us a truck with no gas and only after we loaded the truck and went to gas station did we find a cut fuel line. A decent company would have sent a replacement truck but we are sitting here 3 hours later waiting for their service guy who they called that was over 100 miles away. I have never seen such poor inconsiderate service.

WORST customer service I have received. Both employees I dealt with were very disrespectful. First they didnt have the size truck they reserved for me so they gave me a huge 27 foot truck that I couldnt even get into my apartments to move. The truck was filthy when they gave it to me. I used it drive 10 miles total and they stated I needed to add even more gas than I did when it was at the line they gave it to me at. The guy said if I didnt add more gas it was going to a 50$ charge.Rude employees made this a horrible transaction

Customer service was pretty rude, not to me but to others in front of me, and the fact they charge service fees for EVERYTHING is a bit much. Dollys should be free to rent but insured. I will use them again but only for around town, .79 cents a mile even when I pay for own gas is a bit much.

They dont clean the inside of the windshields. I ended up some how getting the same pickup truck 3 times and the windshield has a layer of dirt on the inside and when light hits it a certain way you cant see anything. I think employees should be required to keep the inside windshield properly clean. The inner windshield was filthy sense the 1st time.Oh and also, the pin on the map for GPS is dropped in the wrong spot.

Before renting anything from U-Haul, do a Google search of “U-Haul sucks”. There you’ll find stories of how U-Haul treats its customers. The day before my reservation, U-Haul moved my pickup location from Oakdale to Modesto—30 miles away. When I called to complain, the representative cancelled my reservation and hung up on me. I finally spoke to a manager who filed a complaint. I was sent an e-mail with an apology and a $50 credit. I never received the $50 credit. By far, the worst service I have ever experienced. I will never do business with U-Haul, again.

Fair but we moved our if town and instead of allowing us to return the U-Haul to a U-Haul rep near us they required us to return it back to McHenry or pay over $100.

I reserved a trailer and they didnt have it. Said the person who had it currently wanted to keep it longer. I had movers and people waiting on me to load the trailer. I had to drive 30 minutes to get another. Ended up costing me an extra $200.

Reservation #87223046I’ve used UHaul more than seven times in the last few years, and this experience takes the cake!Not only did they not allow me to pick up my equipment where I rented it, which is 15 minutes from my house, they chose TWO places thirty minutes from my house in two different directions, so I had to drive south for thirty minutes to drop off my husband, then drive north an hour to pick up the second item.To make matters worse, when I got there, I needed to use the bathroom. The lady informed me they didn’t have a public bathroom. At this point, I’m still being nice as I ask, “Where do you go; there’s no place around here?” She informs me, “We don’t have ‘public’ restrooms,” then informs me my appointment is no good; “we won’t have your equipment for two and a half hours.” I’m still calm, because I really need to use the bathroom. “Ma’am, I’ve been driving for one and a half hours, may I please use your facilities?”“No...there’s a place down the street.” Now I’m thinking... “Why should a place down the street allow me? I didn’t spend $3000 there.”I beg her, remind her how far I’ve driven, and that I’m the only person inside the establishment, and she insists, “No!”At this point, I run out the door, because the UHaul is located in a commercial district. First gas station, no facilities. First fast food restaurant, closed down.Twenty minutes later, in tears, I find a fast food restaurant.Now tell me, as a paying customer, when you know your location is in the middle of nowhere, AND you’re changing your appointment time by two and a half hours, why wouldn’t you allow a fifty-year-old woman who’s begging you, in tears, to use your restroom?What is the “customer service” world coming to?I can’t even express how utterly sad I am that they would treat a customer who’s spending three thousand dollars like this! I was charged 3 different times for what was an in town rental for a few hours. When i called they transferred me to customer service which was horrible! I spoke to a rep named Heidi which after i said u guys charged me 3 damn times she threatened to disconnect the call because i was swearing this lady was no help!..it gets better, i asked to speak to a supervisor after that and she put me on hold for a few min..by no surprise she came back on the phone n said her supervisor told her to tell me he basically would say the same thing, i asked for his name which at first she was being a smart ass n said which one i have a few i replied to her as obviously the one u spoke with finally got a name Mark.Great customer service! Not! Ive never had such a horrible experience..so no help with my refund and after going back n forth n no help from a superior she told me its on my bank at this point which i called them afterwards n they verified they have not received a refund from their end..so basically they are all just LAZY n dnt wna do any work to help! Trying to rent a truck but the employee or owner named Michelle is very rude. August 27, 2017 around 9:30 am. Trying to get some information about renting a truck and the customer service is very very very rude and she hang up on me...please take note and action regarding this incident, it doesnt look good to your company.
