We are a very avid customer of this company but my recent experience was so bad I just want to express my frustrations. So we needed one more box of the item we bought five days ago. It took about half an hour figuring out what we ordered. I didnt have my receipts because we changed vehicle. Couldnt have they checked the order to get the item on the file of our business? Then we have a Credit card on file and from the time they asked for the number to the time they got back with us while waiting inside our car in front of the office took another good 20 minutes. I mean really? I feel like they need to reevaluate their employees performance or forget about good customer service.We adore and love the owner, Steve Cheney and Joey and perhaps theyre oblivious to this frustrating experience. Nevertheless theyd feel the same bitter frustration if they were treated the same as we had been. .Note: We had been doing business with this company for over 30 years and we normally love the way they treat us but its been changing lately.

Best place to buy flooring materials here in Minnesota, knowledgeable friendly staff, very helpful and courteous. A large selection far better than getting it from any other big box store. I am their repeat customer and look forward to no hassle shopping experience at this place, multiple locations but you are treated like a friend always.

Weve been going to Cheney for years and are always impressed with the large selection, helpful staff and clean facility. Its recommended to anyone who is looking for flooring products for their residential or commercial projects. David is who we like to see when we go in shop for material selections. Great service, very friendly and seem busy (which is good). I shopped a lot on carpet and hardwood before finding Cheney carpet. Others couldnt seem to get the balance between service and pricing. Cheney was perfect. I had freedom to walk around without being bothered and when I needed help it was easily found. I wanted to see a sample of something they didnt have and a week later it was in. When I had a little doubt on whether to order it or not I was offered the option of bring it in. He was sure it would be easily sold if I didnt like it. While that particular option may be atypical for them Im sure their level of service was not. I couldnt be happier with the service or product. While I worked with Joey, Id feel comfortable working with any of them.

Good carpet at great prices and great service

Saw the guys at Cheney today. If youre looking for good commercial grade carpet and dont need to special order this is the place. Im remodeling some offices for a client and what I was able to pick up at Cheney was better quality and a lot less money then some of the other commerical carpet distributors. Two thumbs up!

Don’t buy the Bonnie laminate floor it’s the worst I’ve ever seen. It seems durable but it’s peeling back in a few places and the texture of this stuff traps dirt so when I sweep and mop it doesn’t do any good. I’ve tried floor cleaners and waxes but nothing works. We spent $5000 this summer for materials and install we’re very disappointed.

A complete mess. Limited selection of Chinese manufactured carpet and flooring and the sales team does NOT have their business together. Apparently these guys do deals on post-its and napkins because I tried to get carpet and flooring paid for over the course of three weeks so my installer could get it done before moving into a new place but because these guys dont keep track of orders on a computer, no one could help me out sure theyre cheap but I dont trust the quality of the products they sell or the sales staff to deliver.

Best customer service Ive experienced in my life!! Joey, David and Bruce were exceptional to work with. Best part is, they know their stuff, I went in knowing nothing about carpet and laminate and left feeling amazed at the product I was going to put in my home. It was night and day! They are the ONLY place to get flooring from!

We went to go pick out carpet on our day off. We ordered two types of carpet and carpet pad. One carpet was on clearance, so we thought we were getting a great deal. A week following we went to go pick it up and they told us they sold the carpet!! So, therefore had to take off work again to go in a pick out another carpet. Therefore, we told them ahead of time we were coming in to pick up the carpet and they said okay. Got there and they said they couldnt find any of the carpet we ordered. After an hour and a half of waiting we ended up leaving. Still waiting on a refund. Would never do business with them again.

The warehouse workers either ignored me or were not much help. Was picking up 4 rolls of carpet, padding and 3 rolls of vinyl. After items were loaded up, the worker threw a tiny piece of twine at me and said here you go. I had no clue what and where to tie this to. Needless to say it busted and broke the piece I tied it to.considering I am a woman and was by myself, they should have been the one to make sure it was secured properly!

It is with great pleasure that we write this review. Two months ago we paid a contractor to puchase and install flooring. Shortly after that, our contractor was no longer on the job for us. He told us the flooring was paid for, and we just needed to work with Cheney Carpet Distributors to pick it up. We then learned that the flooring was not paid for. After meeting with John, Pete and Joey to problem solve, we were told not to worry....the flooring was ours. It didnt matter if they were paid; we would still get the flooring. We cant begin to thank Cheney enough for the peace of mind this brought to us. We were able to pick up our flooring and our new contractor installed it. Their kindness and generosity is something we will never forget. Their dedication to their customers is more than evident. We HIGHLY recommend Cheney Carpet Distributors. The worst customer service that you wont see even in 3rd World countries.Dont and I repeat DO NOT waste your time and energy even checking this place out. Especially dont buy at your first visit if youre set on buying from them. They will swear by their mothers grave and tell you that youre getting the best deal possible. Which honestly will sound convincing if youre an impulsive buyer. I took another sample from Menards and 2 samples Cheney Carpet provided to me earlier, on my second trip. Showed them all and asked which one was a better buy. Guess what?! The guy who was telling me that his samples were 40-50$/sqy picked 17-20$ Menards sample as the winner, I said nothing not to embarrass the guy.Even though I knew going in that they arent the best in customer service but still going to a wholesaler one expects a little room for haggling and negotiating. The sample I picked didnt have a price posted on it, so for all I know it might have been 5$ carpet that the guy was trying to sell to me for 15$. I asked him if theres any deal at all he can get me on, and he told me to go and buy it from somewhere else. He started talking down to me saying that even customers who buy in hundreds of thousands dont get any better deal than what he was offering. Same pads and carpet that I was looking at was offered to me at a significantly lower rate when I was there first time. I ended up leaving without buying from them. I prefer to be respected and go by the customer is always right policy even if I might end up spending couple bucks more somewhere with a professional staff. Any how I guess google reviews work and people dont leave bad reviews for nothing. If being schooled and fooled by the guy who can barely spell his own name is your thing then Cheney is the place for you...

My wife and I spent 1/2 an hour at this store and no sales person asked if we needed help. I was ready to buy but I changed my mind after this experience.

The carpet layers do terrible work and cannot be trusted.If you are foolish enough to have them install your carpet,do NOT let them be alone in your house.

Awful, use any other distributor the people working here can not be trusted. Shorted on products purchased, rumors of theft within the company. I would do business elsewhere.

This is the last place that I would ever buy carpet from .... I ordered 1200 ft.² of carpet the total price was supposed to be $2100 I paid half and was supposed to pay the other half once the carpet is in, the sales rep told me two weeks three weeks later I called him if the carpet is ready they said no another week past I called the, answer was no we still don’t have your carpet I asked to talk to the manager guy name Pete (( not a good Man )) answer the phone right away being rude I asked what’s the reason on my carpet being delayed the answer was I do not know But the price is supposed to be $2900 my answer was no sir it’s supposed to be $2100 Pete answered if you want to carpet $2900 otherwise find it elsewhere when I ask for my money back he said they will send a check out I called in for a check 12 days later they said it wasn’t made yet .finally I called my credit card company had it resolved right away I wish I would’ve known this earlier
