I needed the a/c charged on my diesel pusher motorhome. I also wanted a new battery. They were great to work me in before a big trip. Spyder was exceptionally helpful showing me a few little things I didnt even know about my RV. He even did a good run-through of the brakes, batteries, etc. to make sure I was in tip-top shape. My batteries were still in good shape and they didnt force me to buy new ones (like others would). The price was very reasonable. I will certainly use them for all my future diesel needs.
Do not take your car or truck and his people they’re crooks I took my truck and I replaced the brakes and rotors on all four tires year and a half ago they went out eight months later they told me they replace the brakes they went out three months later I said my brakes for the squeaky I asked my new mechanic if that’s normal he said absolutely not
The staff was very helpful and kind. Having your vehicle worked on is a stressful experience but I put my trust in them and they didnt let me down. It is.nice to have a mechanic that you can trust. Thanks guys.🙂
Absolutely NEGATIVE!! We took out motor home in for service and when we picked it up found the entry steps had been smashed backward enough to damage the motor mechanism ($500 to replace)! The side storage door dented beyond easy repair and paint stretched off to the metal down the fender.I had photos of when we dropped it off with no damage. Their response when I demanded explanation “I will check out cameras, there are literally hours of viewing so I can’t guarantee anything,”. After our repeated outreach they blatantly lied to us stating they did not do the damage. These people are crooks! They have no respect, even less professionalism and didn’t fix the original issue we brought our motor home to them in the first place. If you care for yours I would highly recommend you steer clear of this place. They had zero regard for our $60K home away from home.
Just about the only 0lace that does motor homes.
Good people.
Ive been coming here for years for my auto care. They are friendly, and knowledgeable with cars. I give them a sound the car is making and they get in fixed.
Ñot wearing MASK. Rude and grumpy. Old cluttered dirty shop bad overall experience.
Jeff, Jim, and Jeremy along with the mechanics at the shop do a top notch job. I have gone to these guys for over a decade to get my cars and diesel truck repaired or serviced and I have never been disappointed in the slightest. They can be trusted for your repair and they can be trusted in the repairs you need and they will also let you know what you dont need. They bend over backwards while walking the extra mile to make the customer happy.
Best mechanics Ive been to. Theyre fully upfront and transparent with you, they get the work done in a reasonable amount of time. Thumbs up!!
Highly skilled, great owner
I took my granddaughters car to them because the check-engine light came on. They kept the car for more than a month and charged more than $3000 to repair a car that is only worth $2500--AFTER I told them to let me know if the car could not be repaired inexpensively, because it wasnt worth spending thousands on. Oh well (I guess they werent listening--or maybe they were). When my granddaughter picked it up the check-engine light immediately came on and the car performed sluggishly. just as it did when I first brought it in--three thousand bucks ago. So she took it back. Now they have had the car for another month (apparently warranty work is not high priority for this company) and they are saying they dont really know whats causing the check-engine light to stay on and its possible (they actually said this--very smugly, by the way) that I could be into the repair several more thousand before they figured it out. Unbelievable. So now I have $6000 into a car worth $2500 and will have to take it somewhere else to get it repaired properly so that my granddaughter has a way to get to school. And to add insult to injury, they said if she picks up the car and drives it while the check-engine light is still on--the light they cant get to stay off, the warranty will be voided on the $3000 Ive already given them. Ive been told by an experienced Mercedes mechanic that its doubtful that much of the $3000 worth of work they did was even necessary. My advice: Stay away from these guys, and their attitude sucks as well. Oh and thanks for leaving my 17-year-old granddaughter stranded without a vehicle for two months to get to school and work with since I live in St. George and she is renting a room from a host family, trying the best she can to finish high school and get to and from work while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. You guys are something else. Normally. Im not the kind of guy who would bother to say anything, but my conscience would bother me if I stood by and said nothing and this company continued to treat other customers the way they have treated my granddaughter. She deserves better than that, and I will stand up for her.
I work at an RV dealership we always have something we need done. Automotion is a no frills, no beat around the Bush. just a bunch of hard working. straight up guys that are reasonable priced aswell as do super good work!!!
We have been taking our diesel pusher RV to Automotion for years now. While they are very busy, the mechanics know their stuff and have been able to resolve issues with our bus other places couldnt figure out. They also have an attention to detail and safety. Prices are fair. Its unusual to find a place you know will take good care of your vehicle and can be trusted.
The shop was very professional we were traveling tru to Canada and they got right on working on my truck and got us back on the road as soon as possible very pleased with them all for the mechanic was the best. Thanks very much 😀😀
Jeremy was great!! He took the time to help a woman in distress with out cheating her. I will definitely recommend this shop to all my friends. After living in Utah for 5 years, I feel I now have a mechanic I can trust!
This summer we took a three month trip across country and back in our motorhome. On our way from California to Utah, our check engine light started coming on consistently. In the beginning of our three night stay in Salt Lake City, we inquired at Auto-Motion, about performing a diagnostic on our engine. They had a week and a half backup in their schedule, but agreed to try to fit us in the morning of our departure. The morning of our departure, we arrived at the shop sharply at 8:00 and did not have to wait long before they performed the diagnostic, which turned out to be inconclusive. Because they were already booked with jobs for the day, they suggested that we give them time to investigate our issue between jobs, while we took our car to leisurely spend the day. By the time we returned at the designated time, they had found the problem – dirty fuel filters, and had us on our way before the end of the day. We truly appreciated that they took the time so that we could continue without delay. We arrived back safely to West Virginia and the check engine light never came on again.Highly recommend them. They were friendly and professional.
This place is awesome really amazing staff very friendly and helpful. Extremely busy but enough good mechanics first name place. I will recommend them. They work on anything!!!!
I have been using these guys for almost 30 years now. They stay up to date on the latest auto stuff and are very knowledgeable on all of it....Prices are fair, staff is very friendly, and repairs are done fast.Several of my friends and relatives use the too.THANKS!
Its a shame I wont be returning, this spot is convenient.Cons: Quoted me $230 for an oil pressure switch replacement + oil change when I did it myself for $20. Still didnt fix the oil leak (granted, they said it might not) but at least Im not out $210 for nothing.Pros: Friendly staff, quick diagnostic.
If you are needing work done on a vehicle this is one of the few places you can trust.I have taken several vehicles to them over the years and they have always been 100% honest, and upfront with what the car needs. They have gained my loyalty by being your friend instead of a place of business. They are dedicated to keeping you on the road at a fair and honest price. If you need any kind of service from a basic tune up to a engine overhaul this is my first stop. Their service is top notch and fabrication skills are among the best I have seen in the Salt Lake valley. I will continue to use them until I leave the state. Even then it will be hard to not come back for service.
I had two major repairs done on my 45’ American Eagle RV at Auto-Motion in Midvale, Utah. The first repair was to fix my dash air conditioner. It turned out that my condenser had a leak and needed to be replaced. Auto-Motion did an excellent job of replacing the condenser and the stone shield that protects it. It took about a week to order parts and complete the work. I also had a loud clicking sound coming from my 500 hp Cummings ISL diesel. Paul, their mechanic, that worked on the condenser diagnosed the problem as a cracked manifold. So, after Labor Day, they got me back into their shop as they had done such excellent work on the dash air. I had thought about taking the RV to Cummings Diesel to have the work done. I had to stay in a motel, as I was homeless, while they worked on the engine. They disassembled everything around the manifold and took off the manifold and diagnosed that two gaskets had blown out. There was pitting around where the gaskets were and we agreed to replace the three pieces of the manifold to be on the safe side.Auto-Motion does excellent work. I had good luck dealing with Jeremy, the manager of the shop and Paul and Spyder, the mechanics. They all seem very dedicated to their work. The only problem that I had with Jeremy was that he told me that I would owe $1400 for the new condenser after my extended warranty paid and when I paid the final bill, he had raised it to $2100. I was also told that I would owe $2850 for the engine work after the extended warranty paid, but when I paid the final bill it was raised to $3400. I did not complain because they did excellent work and I was extremely happy with getting the work done. I would have no problem recommending to have work done at Auto-Motion, with some minor reservations. First are their neighbors, Lone Peak Collision and its owner, Kendall, and one of his employees who harassed me on three separate occasions for just going to my RV. I was already very stressed about having the engine torn apart on my home and Lone Peak Collision just added another completely unnecessary level of stress for me with no gain to them. Also, the owner of Auto-Motion lacks any people skills. He was not helpful, hints for you to go away, even when you are just visiting your RV for a couple of minutes. He probably spoke 10 words to me during my two weeks at Auto-Motion. In conclusion, Auto-Motion does great work, just deal with Jeremy and avoid any contact with Lone Peak.
I will NEVER trust anything here EVER again! Negative -20 Stars.Go to*Parris RV* and *TurnKey Auto and Truck Repair Service
Best shop in town for DIAGNOSING the real problem and fixing the issue. I say this after having spent over $3,300 in the area at 3 other shops while traveling through. Auto Motion is the real deal. They fixed the issues and got me back on the road. Friendly staff, diligent crew, and they never gave up. If you are looking for any auto mechanic work in Salt lake city area, come here FIRST. Save a bunch of money to avoid those part-swapper guessers in town!
Jeremy always goes the extra mile to help, is always professional, and cares about not only taking care of customers, but also building friendships. This is a great shop, and I would highly recommend. They are BlueStar certified, and BlueStar only recruits high quality repair shops.
I own a 1978 Dodge motorhome and its difficult to find someone that knows how to work on it. Yes, my old motorhome needs alot of repairs and they have been great every step of the way to get my motorhome fixed.
Shops offered to do for hundreds less. When I told them not to do the work and went to pick up the car, they still charged nearly a hundred bucks just for them to look at it. Included in that price was the cost to perform an additional test I never authorized them to perform. Ive never seen such rip offs in the car repair business in my life. Check prices from other shops before going to them.
Called and got an oppointment for my motorhome to look at work they had done in the past for $1700. Four work days later they still have not looked at the work they did in the past. Seems to me warranty work should take a priority.
(Stay away )I Was Referred to this place by somebody else I had to have a new motor put in the first motor went in within one week and the back of my truck got scratched the motor went bad which was not there fault but it took another month for the second motor to get put in due to they did not have enough mechanics to put in my motor in a timely matter now the other side of my truck got scratched and dented and they denied to repair It Took 5 months to get my truck repaired when I receive my truck back I found that the transmission crossmember was still un Bolted the exhaust was not bolted to the manifold this was a truck with 110,000 miles they scratched my front bumper by standing the crome they damaged the plastic surround inside the motor compartment and damage the backfirewall with their engine hoist when I brought these issues first to the owner he got very angry and told me to get off his property I would not recommend this company to anybody
Great place for awesome and honest work on your vehicle.
DO NOT USE AUTO-MOTION on state street in midvale if you need service on an older model car!!!The Manager is dishonest, and they are aware they can make a wide profit margin by quoting overpriced fixes as necessary, and collecting on the inflated diagnostic fee to make a quick buck without taking on any new tasks for the shop. They are even willing to illegally create problems with the car to make the stack of issues and cost of the fix even more inflated and more discouraging. The manager, Jeremy, knows that it is much easier to make a quick profit on the $40/hour diagnostic than expending shop time and resources and taking on the responsibility of making sure the vehicle ends up fixed. Total value of this car is around $700. I was quoted an unreasonable $1600 estimate to fix a spark plug, vacuum line, and freeze plug issue on my 97 ford escort. When I declined the work they suggested, the work time they charged me for on the diagnostic was doubled. The shop also informed me my rear brake shoes were worn down to metal on metal, and needed to be replaced. This was news to me, as I had replaced all of the brakes and rotors on this car within the last year and a half. After leaving the shop, I noticed my brakes were suddenly slipping, and required another full 2 inches of pressure applied to the brake pedal to feel the brakes engaging.Discouraged about the diagnosis and quote price, I was ready to part with this car, as it would take twice the cost it is worth to keep it running. After venting my frustration to a family member, I was referred to another shop across town, who looked at my car and told me it could be fixed in a couple of hours with some new spark plugs, a piece of vacuum line, and some additive for the freeze plugs (for under 1/3 of Auto-Motions quote). They also looked at my brake shoes and noticed only one of my rear brakes was worn down, and there was no indication why the other one was not worn down to an equal thickness. This prompted the mechanic at the new shop to suggest i had been played with by the folks at Auto-Motion, and the rear brake shoe was likely switched out for an old worn out one during the diagnostic so I was to think my car was buried in a pile of too many issues to fix. After this shocking discovery, I contacted Auto-Motion who advised me they will need to check with the owner to determine whether I deserve any compensation for the $100 useless diagnostic I received. This took them a whole day to check on, and they ended up deciding they would be better off not refunding any of my charge, as I am likely to not return there again anyway. Also, it took them 2 day to run the diagnostic, and they gave me no warning of the long timeframe expected when I had dropped my car off at 9am. I called them 10 minutes before their close at 6pm, and they informed me it would be looked at the next day instead of calling me to let me know there was a delay. This they also apologized for, but still offered no compensation.Sorry for the novel of a review, but to summarize my experience.I was offered a bogus inflated estimate on some minor repairs, had one of my brakes tampered with to add to the price of the estimate, and was refused compensation for the price of a misleading diagnostic even after I got the vehicle fixed elsewhere at a much lower price (at the same labor rate). Even after presenting the receipt from the other shop as proof all issues quoted were addressed where I ended up going.
They are an honest repair shop
Get it done everytime.
Great shop for any automechanical need.
Great service. Personable folks.
After having a small issue I got a hold of Jeremy and he worked out the issue.
The only place I trust for safety and emissions.
Great place to work
