I truly wish I could give this place zero stars, the staff is insanely rude. She could’ve taken two more seconds to just politely put all my things back that they weren’t excepting versus just throwing them back in the container so I have to empty everything back into my bag. She may have been Hispanic or Hawaiian with blue hair and nothing but dirty looks sweetheart fix your face
So, I called this store yesterday to ask about their buying items from customers. A gentleman answered the phone. He told me that they are looking for handbags, shoes, and name brand items like Coach and Michael Kors. Did not mention anything about only one bin worth. So, imagine my surprise when I pull up into parking lot and see their instructions for buying items. Apparently, you take the bin (one average size) to your car and fill up. Problem is...since i was under the impression from the gentleman I talked to yesterday that I could bring in unlimited amount of items, everything I brought in did not fit in the one bin they provide. I am not upset by their buying policy by any means. What upsets me is I was not told any of this over the phone yesterday and I asked a bunch of questions. So I loaded up all my car with all this stuff and drove all the way over there - to find out they would not even look at all of it. So, my request - please train all employees to handle these situations correctly. And also - why are you so picky about what you buy? The people you have working there are not only rude and disrespectful, but would NOT know amazing clothes if it hit them in the face. The people who work there are NOT familiar with other brands that are good - unless they say Coach or Michael Kors. Do not go there - even if desperate. Just sell your stuff on Offer Up!
Brought in a bunch of good quality clothes and they didnt take not one piece. Id rather go to buffalo exchange. This place is wack making me waste my time in this heat
Just left this place....the lady asked me if I was selling I said yes, she said let me look over your items first so, you don’t have to fill out the paperwork. She said no on everything...here is the kicker though she said my stuff was worn down.. I had Ben Sherman, Seven jeans, RVCA, that was bought within the last month. I want to know if any other minorities have issues with this location? This is part of my Thesis report on the basis treatment of minorities in retail stores / exchange stores like this one. So, thank you Name Brand Exchange helping my paper.
As a seller: use this place only as a last resort if/when you are seriously desperate for a little cash. It is impossible not to feel incredibly insulted by the offer (or lack there of) for your lightly worn name brand clothing and accessories. On the other hand, as a buyer, you can reap the benefits of other peoples misfortune. There are lots of great deals on items that were practically given away by people that were temporarily down on their luck.
Clean, Organized, Effective + Proficient. Lacks Engagement, Smiles & Consistency Of Customer Servicing. Does Anyone Business Offer Open Or Close Statements, Anymore....? No Branding. Also, Seek Employees Who Appear To Understand Being Employed Is A Blessing.
I been shopping at this store for 8 years and for the past two years it’s been really bad no customer service at all the managers don’t seem to care in past most of the items where real now am scare to buy anything most of it is fake and overpriced and careful getting a check from them I would not recommend at all
Its not the fact that they offered me so little for my clothes but the fact that they had me repacking my clothes on the floor. That was disrespectful and I wont be going back.
They lost my items! When I brought my items, they told me to come back in an hour to get my quote. When I came back, some of my items were already on display and they lost others. Do NOT bring your valuables to sell.
They have a lot of cute stuff, prices are decent. But they are VERY PICKY ABOUT WHAT THEY BUY!
I just spent 45 minutes inside the store, but no one ever spoke to me. (I don’t know if it’s the change since the coronavirus or what but, I wasn’t even entirely sure if anyone was working today? The store may just be left open and unlocked LOL?)There were several other women shopping, who seem to be finding items but I had no luck. I saw several of the same outfits over and over and over in different sizes. Not a lot of good things to choose from. The women’s section had no size indicators and was difficult to shop. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to this location again. My suggestion would be try somewhere else
I stop in here sometimes. Sometimes I actually find something to wear.
Honestly it depends on who is working. I noticed a lot of the females are alittle more uptight but the males are so much better to work with.I brought stuff in one day and they only took one item but then I brought it back the next day with a diffeeent worker and they took all of it :)
I wasnt sure where to go and find five different things matching my beautiful nieces. I am happy to say that I found everything needed. Customer services are great as well
Staff has been consistently rude throughout the years of me coming to both Name Brand locations. I walked in the heat one day to sell some clothes and when I got there their selling counter was closed even though their website said it would be open at that time. The employee told me our website is currently wrong... Frustrating! So I returned the next day and they bought none of my clothes which were all NAME BRAND and it nearly perfect condition...
Every time I go there. To both locations they buy my stuff. Thank you! I got cute Chanel accessories from Dobson store. Seems that right now, they have more stuff. Better picks. Got a lot of cute dresses.
I waited one hour. None of my clothes were touched. The girl was rude. She told me about one hour, only in person in front of me. Went back after an hour she tells me another 40 minutes because shes the only one working. Hire more employees. Dont waste your time go to Buffalo exchange. 👍🏻
I normally have not had a bad experience here but the time is currently 7:11pm on Saturday. I had clothes to sell and was told that the new policy is the counter closes at 6:30 although on their website, via Yelp, and their Facebook page it says one hour before closing. Too bad because I always trade good stuff and buy at least $50 worth on top of that. Update people!
Edited Nov 2019Selection might be getting less picky, at least in the Mens section. Today I noticed that the shirts were of lower quality than I recall, and the one that fit and I bought had two price tags (I was required to pay the higher price). Worse (and what prompted this edit) there is a hole that I just discovered in the armpit area :-(Previous:They offer to buy your clothes, take it or leave it. Have nice assortment of items for adults, not children. Thankful for your service!
Really good prices and large selection. Love the new remodel looks really big, open and fresh. Lots to choose from and great friendly staff.
I do not like this location due to the small building, its so packed and you cant hardly walk anywhere in the store. They also NEVER EVER buy anything from me whenever have been in it. I personally love the other location they have. The one on Southern and Val Vista. Go to that location so much better. Just saying =)
Terrible service. They close at 9pm and buying counter closes st 8pm. I pull up at 758pm after driving an hour and bringing my bags of clothes inside. They tell me its too late. My watch says exactly 8pm after laying out all my clothes. They sent me away after all of that work. EXTREMELY rude staff, would absolutely not recommend to anyone. If they want to close before 8 they should change the closing time to 730.
Well I must say a lot has changed here. They basically give you pennies for your items, The staff has never been rude to me. But it seems like they must have new owners because the buying prices are so much less than before and there is a lot of SHADY people who hangout there especially in the front of the store. You can totally tell they are TWEEKERS.If you want to buy items that are dirty and in poor condition for cheap prices then this is the place for you. But if you want to sell your items go somewhere else it is a WASTE of your time and gas.
They say they buy your used clothes, but they never buy them. The clothes I took in were worn a few times; while this girl was checking the clothes to see if they were okay, she didnt really look at them for one. She looked at the first two and basically talked the whole time with the other employees, and said they cannot buy them because they are all worn down and also because one shirt was a mesh design and she claimed that it had holes gaping open. Thats the damn design! So therefore she gave it back and sent us on our way. This store has way to high standards for clothing. By the way the clothes I was selling were name brand clothes so I dont see the problem with that. Why say we buy used clothes? Might as well say we buy used clothing never worn. Oh yes, I took in some shoes Chuck Taylors. I got them for $55 and they offered me $6 or $8 in store credit. Now, that is complete BS. Another thing the stores is way to crowded, you can barley walk around in there. I also caught an employee pick her vaginal area and didnt wash her hands! She handled the clothes right after. Disgusting store never going back, it should be closed down.
Ok Name Brand Exchange PLEASE open a location in the west valley! The Goodwills in our area are meh at best and pricey. I was in the area for another errand and I told my 13 yr old daughter we have to stop here! So glad we did! I forgot how low the prices were. We spent less than $50 and my daughter got EUC hi top Converse, a jean jacket, fancy black dress, jeans and a long sleeve blouse. All next to new condition. The shoes alone would be $40 or more new. I cant wait for my next East Valley errand to shop again. Thanks to the friendly staff for being the cherry on top.
They really dont care about how long a customer has to wait. The last time I visited, I had just cleaned out my closet and went to sell some of my gently-worn clothing. When I arrived, I was told there were already four customers items on the table and one waiting in line, so it would be 20 minutes before I could put my clothes on the table and another HOUR AND A HALF before they could look at my clothing. I dont mind a little wait, but that seems ridiculous. It takes two hours to get through five customers clothing? I walked out. They might give you a couple bucks for a bag of quality clothing but it will be pennies in comparison to how much its actually worth. As far as buying from here goes, you can definitely get better quality clothing at a cheaper price from Goodwill.
I was browsing, to what I can or possibly buy. No one available to help out, no one greets you or thanks you for your time. Most of the items stocked are items that other customers have sold or traded, they were not authentic at all, the Jordans were absolutely fake, and the handbags; were definitely fake as well. Prices are reasonable however for the quality and authenticity of the items, not worth stopping in again.
Love this place! Vanessa rocks as well as the rest of the staff at both locations! Great prices, great selection, good buy rates. Thank you.
WATCH OUT FOR THIS STORE-I took in 31 items, they said they purchased 6 items for $28.00. Great but when I got home I only had 3 items in my bag that they didnt buy. THEY ARE THIEVES SO COUNT YOUR ITEMS BEFORE YOU TAKE THEM.
I love this place, the girls are so nice to me. They always give me fair prices for me stuff! I love poping in before class or on a long lunch break! No complaints at all, my favorite place to shop for cheep
Wow awful experience both times I came here. As far as selling clothes: the buyers do not have the necessary product knowledge and so are inconsistent and make bad choices on what items to decline - I brought in the same bag of clothes twice. The first time they took one item the next day they took 5 items. They paid me 5$ - a joke (7s jeans, brand name and washed once shirts) . The reason not to shop there: goodwill has a better and cleaner looking selection of clothing. The place feels more like a thrift store than a brand name exchange. Last was service: I was late getting back to area (since they had an hour wait, i left) and I called to say Id be there at close or a minute after. They told me not worry about it (cause God forbid they wait a minute) and I could pick the extra items up the next day. They preceded to donate them instead. Then gave me an attitude about it. Go to Buffalo exchange or Goodwill instead.
I camecame in the Store at 8:30 PM I know it closes at nine the cashier that was there was a tall skinny guy and a girl with short hair cut and nose piercing and the guy had black hair he kept warning me about the store closing even when I was at the register. I told him you dont have to say that I know that. All the owners want is to make money like other buisness. And the other girl jumped in knowing I was a loyal customer. It made me cry. People have no customer serv5.i spent $75 there and then he showed me no respect I will never go there ever again and I will tell my friends the same thing that was a terrible experience
This was my first and only experience there: I took in two large bags full of clothes. Acknowledging the name of the place, I only presented name brands (Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein, Hudson Jeans, etc), all purchased within the last two years and all barely worn. I had plenty of time to peruse the store which smelled strongly of talcum powder, and I quickly realized that Name Brand Exchange is anything but. It was like reuniting with the trashiest corners of my high school closet ten years ago. Its no surprise they barely wanted anything, and what little they did take was the worst of the bunch. The girls who work here never stop condescending to customers, but they should put their nasty attitude to rest, as they clearly lack any knowledge of what a name brand is or what people wear in this decade. I should have walked right back out as soon as I got there.
Spring cleaning the closet... Went there to sell. Customer service is lacking. Went in there hearing the employees complain about the other customers and their shift. One was awfully rude to one customer and the other was a tad bit condescending to the other who was browsing. Gossip is what they do from their bosses to their customers and deciding what items to put on display and what they buy for themselves.Name Brand Exchange has changed so much. Gone are the days they actually buy and sell name brands and authentic designer items. No one seems to know L.A.M.B. or Karl Lagerfeld.
I went in with Levis & Gap & CAbi items and Brianna looked at the top few items from Worthington and pushed the bucket back at me and told me not to bother laying about 100 items out for her to look at. 3 customers waited at the counter for more than 10 mins before one of us went to get someone. Their website says theyll be happy to look over what you bring in, however that was not my experience, I was very clearly interrupting their day and bothering them.
I brought in a bunch of name brand clothes that I had never worn because I buy and then I change my mind and forget. They didnt buy anything and told me that the shirt I brought in that I never wore once was too worn. It was the style of the shirt..... when you buy it..... Ive gone a few times with brand new clothes and told they were too worn.... insane.....one even had the tag still on... I finally showed the tag being on. She was like oh.... sorry can’t take it. And then just scooted the rest of my clothes aside and didn’t even look.... wow. Do they know anything? Obviously not. Plato’s closet and rocket resale are way more fair.
Quality used threads!.Great prices!.If only it didnt smell like incense! !!
Walked I. With some spare cloths. Walked out with $44. Quick painless experience
I walked in with my husband and baby. One girl asked me if Id ever been there before and then walked away. A minute later another asked me for my license and then walked away also. I was left with my license in hand and with no one to be found. They werent helpful at all and it seemed like I was an inconvenience to them. Worst customer service ever.
I sometimes sell clothing here, but more often I buy gently used boardshorts for my boyfriend and tops for myself here or there. Selection varies, obviously. I usually walk out with an armload on a good day.
The staff has really got their snobbish bored Im way too cool to waste my time on you losers act downtight! Just kidding you know I was just playing right🐸Shoes shoes and more shoes💋Makeup perfume & jewelry so much you cannot go through it all in one visit🐯Nice BIG dressing rooms
Ok store, not too much to choose from. I take clothes there to sell after I take them a few other places. I would recommend this store but I like buffalo or urban better
I would say that name brand exchange is more of a last minute last resort type of place to sell your clothes, you may get a better deal if you trade in a lot of stuff, Jordans, Tru religion jeans, and other high end fashion will only get you a quarter of what you paid for them. Your best bet would be to trade in your things for in store credit youll get a semi-better deal!
The staff here is so rude! Now I remember why I stopped coming here.
I have been to both of the locations in the east valley, and I have never seen name brand clothing, always just the typical Forever21, Charlotte Russe, etc. It seems like they just take whatever people bring in, old, outdated, stained and torn clothing and shoes. Definitely would not buy those two things from there. However, the selection of jewelry they have is great.
Worst part about this place is the staff. The girls working here are so rude. They don’t even bother looking at customers when talking to them and answer in one word answers. I took clothes that have literally never been worn and they didn’t take anything. Don’t bother trying to sell things here they’ll make you wait an hour for nothing.
I dont really understand what “name brand” is supposed to mean. I’ve never gotten them to take anything except a brand new pair of socks I got as a gift. Was super surprised that they didn’t want a brand new pair of Calvin Klein jeans or one of those really expensive Lacoste polos this last time around. Then again I always look through the store while I wait and It’s all too ratty, out of style, or just plain weird so maybe that should answer my question.
I was just there today I brought in a full bag of clothes from Miss Me’s to American eagle, roxy, New York and company, forever 21, Michael kors, etc. two pairs of brand new shoes never ever worn straight out of the box they handed all the clothes back to me and told me it just wasn’t their style that they were looking for all these clothes for practically brand new either worn once or twice or not even at all. I have kids no gas in my car and was hoping to sell these so that I can drive to get my children to and from school and this is the kind of customer service I had to deal with because two young women say it’s not their style they didn’t even hardly look at the clothing that I was looking to sell I am highly disappointed and as a returning customer I will no longer be returning. If I could give this a no star rating I would I have never had this kind of trouble in the past with selling clothes there until they startEd hiring teenage trash with poor customer service skills. If I would’ve acted half that way in that business I would be fired they need new employees ones that actually appreciate their jobs and actually do the job efficiently and professionally, And don’t just hand back close because they wouldn’t wear them it’s pathetic
The first time I went to this place the selling manager was on break....but for 2 hours?! Who takes a 2 hours break...the staff was a little nice. Took some of my best hat and unfortunately walked out with all but 1. They said they were too worn even though I just bought them and kept them in a box. I thought I was going to get some big $$$ with some Nike and Jordan gear but was a huge rip off only walking out with a few bucks. The staff is totally wack.
Good clothing but employee and customer service was horrible the girls were eating behind the counter, took them forever to check my clothes, I understand that customers have to be patient but at the same time Im not waiting 20 minutes because the girls are talking and not working as fast as they could If they actual cared about their customer service.
The employees at this location are HORRIBLE !! They are rude, unorganized and have the worst selection of clothing. I wouldnt waste my time at this location, the Val Vista store has employees who are awesome and know what to buy.
Place was awesome lots of people working and very helpful my son found a new pair of Timberlands for a quarter of the retail price great selection on guys clothes (which rare in a second hand store)
They really need a new staff. I would be happy to work there and show these girls what kind of clothes people like and how to provide customer service without acting as though youre cooler than someone else...weird. their prices are great but their selection is hideous. They pay you tiny amounts for the clothes they do buy but im not so sure they actually put the clothing out for sale cuz the stuff they have isnt all that great.
Giving it a 4 from all the other reviews. Do they have all kinds of sizes? Or only a select few?
The employees here dont care, im not one to ever complain but they just stand there and gossip about customers the whole time. Super uncomfortable. gossip all you want when your closed. This place makes me so uncomfortable that i dont want to return, this happens every single time i come in. Only nice thing is their clean and organized.
The most rude staff I’ve ever seen. The manager(?) with the Kool Aid dye job was arguing with another customer, the buyer took 3 customers who arrived after I did. This location is a damn bad joke. You work in a 2nd hand shop, drop the attitude.
This Name Brand has really old stock, I literally, went in last year and they still have the same stuff! Who ever manages this location really need to get a grip on things and have a SALE for good sakes. Out with the old in with the New please!I agree, they glance at your items and talk most of the time to each other. The Asian Girl, Kristen really needs some personality and should be a little less reserved. She should make people feel welcome not be like oh, hey with no smile! Cheer up, you are in a Industry that requires personality!!Also, they need to keep up with ALL Stock also! I went in, thought it would be a quick run in to get my BF some jeans ------- NO SIZE 36!!!! Hello!?!?! Come on, now.And the stuff they have outside for $3 NEEDS TO BE $1.00 ONLY LITERALLY. Shirts have holes on them (who bought that?!?) and the pair of earring are MISSING the other pair. LOL This place needs to be UPGRADED.**UPDATE** Came to visit here after a couple of years, and they do have better things now. However, Sam and the other blonde have the most bland, and dull attitude I have ever encountered in retail. They act very reserved, unfriendly - they dont fit the demographic here. Almost act as if they are scared of the people rather than being welcoming and friendly. Just uncomfortable experience. I didnt even get to sale because I just stood there with no acknowledgement. I noticed a lot of customers that needed assistance in fitting room can only speak Spanish so they would just ignore them rather than reading their gesture. Sucky.
Customer service is decent. Not super friendly but if you ask for help, theyll help.
Its been a little while since Ive shopped here, but when I last went I liked the pricing and the selection available. They live up to their name by providing name brand items at discounted prices.
Honestly I havent been to this location yet but Im just hoping that when I do go that I get the bennif of the dought that the store and the employees are actually not as bad as everyone says it is
This place needs new management. The owner is super nice. I am clueless as to why she hires such stuck up girls.
The employees were very rude. They continuously complained about their shift and wanting to go home. They laughed to one another at some of the sizes of the clothing I was trading in. They failed to realized that girls that size need clothes as well. Im not sure what their spite was stemming from, but I would like to think that someone from the NBE Corp will see this and take further action towards their employees and their attitudes towards customers and shaming. I initially brought in in two bags of items, but due to the fact that they wanted to go home and thought our clothes were not the right size- I received $4 and some change after waiting 45minutes of the employees laughing back and forth while holding up the clothing. Im just ashamed that you have people like this running the store. It is bad business and i just want to see a change.
WOW! I was looking for Vintage but these reviews are so negative, I won’t shop here. Staff makes the sale. Sounds like this Staff is way off !
Great girls! People, you have to give a little smile to get one back. I see these girls treated like crap every time Im in the store. Its NOT Nordstroms or Dillards....grow up.
Great place to buy trendy or slightly used clothes at an extremely discounted price.
Horrible customer service ! Will not ever return to this location on dobson ever again, staff didnt seem like they like there job & me as a customer i feel thats not right !
Great selection, decent prices for most things!!
The dumb lady behind the counter couldnt tell me why she couldnt take my brand new cardinals snapback hat.. I bought it last month, it has nothing on it lol.. She said it was just to worn. As I went over to look at the other hats that were there, they were in way worse condition than my hat was in, as a matter of fact my hat was in PERFECT condition. Then they said that they just cant take it.. She couldnt answer. You can tell she does not have a education, she couldnt even come up with a good lie.. Lol. Then, when it came to my Ralph Lauren Polo Hoodie, they cant take any sweaters over XL,, I dont know about you guys but I like to have a sweater that fits comfortable. Not everybody is a size 0!! That was the rusist thing Ive ever heard.. I will be sure to contact the proper people to let them know of the policies here... If you want to be humiliated, then wait in line for a hour come here.. This is your store
Went to sell items, was told theres a 2 hour wait! Wha? No thanks, Ill take my things to Urban Xchange, its a bit out of my way but always a good experience. Wish I lived in Gilbert
Good merchandise and extremely cheap piercings, but poor staff.
Its ok, just dont try to exchange anything, they will give you nothing for your stuff.they do have some good stuff to buy sometimes, staff is horrible 😂🤣
Outdated & lame selection of inventory. Shoes are overworn and dirty. You might as well call it Goodwill thrift store
Love this place! Buy sell and trade.
I just stopped into the location on Dobson Road, I really dont think they even bothered looking at what I brought in to trade. The girl at the counter said they were all too worn--some items had store tags STILL ON! I have dealt with rude salespeople at this location before, dont think I will go back. Poor service more than once means Ill spend my money elsewhere...
They were very friendly and efficient.
I have sold here a bunch and only one time was it actually worth it.
All the clothes here look like garbage along with the workers.
Everyone who works there is very nice
Love it will be back soon
Very fairly priced, I havent ever had a bad time here finding something.
Who ever said Vanessa rocks lied.
Not great clothes or service
Nice and friendly
They rip people off
G rest plsce
Good deals
Nice
Rudest employees ever.
I asked them for help to find a guarache, it must be there. He bolted his face and ignored me.I speak English!
Good assortment of clothes and accessories
