UPDATE: So when I wrote this review, I had full intentions to contact the owner when I got off work. However, he ended up calling me a couple of hours after I left the review and offered to take a look at the issue. I was going to call him back when I got off work, but my day ended with my husbands car breaking down (unrelated), but while I was at the mechanic with him, I mentioned that my car was also having issues with a new oil leak and my mechanic volunteered to take a look. He made some minor adjustments, and viola! No leaks this morning. So it really wasnt a big issue, but more of an inconvenience. Im glad it ended well and the owner took the initiative to reach out and offer to fix it.It was supposed to be a simple oil change- $49? Okay well fine, maybe that means theyll do it right. Nope. Its been leaking oil like crazy for three days (multiple days, I know but I work on the opposite side of town and time isnt something I have a lot of during the week). I understand a leak for a few hours but my garage floor is slick with new oil now. My car is a 2003, but it has NEVER leaked oil. When I picked up my car, I asked was there anything else wrong with it?. The gentlemen at the counter said Nope! All is good. And I said Really? Surprising since you guys usually try and tell me something could be wrong (half kidding, I think weve all been here. He said, Nope. I mean, I did notice a small oil leak... I responded, My car has never leaked?? Why is there an oil leak now? I didnt get a response, he just kind of looked away and left it. I had a bad feeling, but knowing it could leak a few hours after an oil change, I took it home and waited and drove it around, and the leak has only gotten more noticeable.I have not made contact with the shop yet personally. I plan on calling in hopes of getting this resolved ASAP after work. If it gets resolved, I will happily change my review based on how they handle it.Lets see what you got, Sun Devil Auto.

Just wanted to share an amazing experience at a car repair location. Danny, at Sun Devil Auto, 1932 N Power Road, treated my son and I like we were family. We came in with an alignment problem, possible tire problem and weird noise at higher speeds. His group there found the skid guard was loose, and re-fastened it for us. The tire alignment was slightly off. They fixed it. Both of these times they had to take it out and test drive it after they worked on it to see if it was indeed corrected. They checked the oil and told us it was fine. For all of these efforts they charged us a whopping ZERO!! No dollars!Since I’ve always leased cars and we own this one, Danny came up with some good suggestions on how to keep up with maintenance on an older car. With this level of help, we will obviously be using them for our car needs, and wanted to pass on this information to our neighbors. This is an honest mechanic. THANK YOU DANNY!!

Very friendly and upbeat, but can only give 2 stars since my vehicle had a check engine light I brought in for with lack of performance and a rough idle. Timely and efficiently diagnosed as one problem, came back next day, then said vacuum leak, a day later, light returns again. Go back and read code again and says Turbo Underboost. Will not further diagnose for cause without paying another inspection fee. Double edged sword. Beware.They are just chasing parts without finding the cause, costed me 600 dollars for absolutely nothing.

Brought in vehicle for alignment after replacing front end parts. Originally told that the alignment would cost 50 something dollars. Near the end of the day the owner said that because it would be tough to align it would cost $300 to align it. Ive been a mechanic for 40 years and I havent heard of such a thing. I brought it to an alignment shop that knows what theyre doing and they aligned it perfectly for $62. This place doesnt know what theyre doing as far as my car was concerned and they were more interested in ripping me off than anything else. Stay away!

After a difficult attempt to get the work done they reached out . After a conversation with Bob Ford I went back the following Saturday and was treated very well. I was pleased with the service, communication and follow up. Any business can have a bad day, but they also can have many more good ones. This is obviously the case here . They didnt lose a customer, they reached out and retained one. I will go back.

Normally a quick and easy operation, this last one took an hour and a half. When I picked up my keys he said, “you’re all set” and I walked to the back door where they normally drive the car around. Accommodating, aggressive business which will Squeeze in late model cars under full warranty... Even after discounted rates for simple services like oil changes. But make sure you double check the work and theyre using the correct fully synthetic or partial can have a bearing on higher performance cars; you get what you pay for so if youre going to take a newer more expensive car in to save money best know what youre doing or let the dealer take care of it for you so theres no compromising performance are possible warranty infringement

Management at the 1935 power road facility was outstanding. Mark Meyer and Danny Groover were very professional.. No charge to determine determine what needed to be done and an explanation of cost prior to service.I overheard explanation of excellent finance plan if needed.. This was my first visit and I will be repeat customer.

Once again Bob and his team have come through to save the day. I had a dead battery and had to get a jump start to make it to the shop. They were able to fit me in and got the battery replaced and I was back out on the road in just 30 minutes. The best part was that the battery was under warranty! This is just an amazing team at this Sun Devil location!

Amazing ! Driving my Land Rover across the US, woke up one morning, wouldn’t start. Had it towed to Sun Devil, in less than 24 hours they got back to me and said “we got it running, come pick it up free of charge”. I have never experienced an auto shop as professional as this shop. ANY other shop would have lied and said they “fixed” something and charged me for it. I recommend this place to anyone. Stand up people. Wish there were more like them.

Got my car going, but didnt fix the problem.

I had my vehicle in for an oil change. I was sitting in what I assumed was the waiting area and was advised by a very rude man named Frank that he couldn’t have me waiting there and he was going to have to “push my oil change to about 4pm”. I arrived at the garage at 7AM and he is telling me this at 11:0Am. He then called another customer to advise that he wouldn’t be able to work on their LEXUS until later in the day. My oil change was just as important to me, I work long hours during the week and have limited time available. I will never take my car to them again!!

There service was ok but the charge double what then what the told me i would look elsewhere for a more honest service will see if they actually adjusted the rears when I get it back up on my mechanics alignment rack

Great service! Took my 2005 Toyota Tacoma in for the 60,000 mile service. Was quoted a price of $272.00 which was less than the dealership.Got a call stating that the water pump was leaking and I also had a rack and pinion steering leak. At first I thought, oh boy, here we go. But, I knew the mechanic was right and not trying to gouge me because I could see the pink engine coolant on my garage floor as well as the rack and pinion fluid. So, these were not made up repairs to get more money. They were legitimate repairs that I needed to take care of. Did I want to hear that, no, but in the end I am glad I had them done. My ten year old Tacoma runs beautifully now and the price of the repairs was worth the inner peace. I took advantage of their no interest, same as cash plan so I can easily pay off the bill in one year. The assistant manager, Eric and the manager, Anthony, were very cordial and especially helpful in answering all my questions. I would recommend Sun Devil Auto to all my friends.

Had my first experience with them today 7-11-2018, it was a good experience. usually have family work on my truck but could not today and they were very knowledgeable and gave me good advice told me what was wrong and what my options was. the best part was i was not treated like a stupid woman, I found that their prices was very competitive, one thing is that they will not give you off the cuff estimate, they must see the car first, to that the price they give you is truly what it will cost you. I will be back for my maintenance work for sure. manger Bob Ford was awesome.

Dishonest mechanic alert! They will always find something wrong with your vehicle that is critical and needs to be fixed asap. The guy waiting in the lobby with me said last time he had them change his oil they wanted to replace all his lug nuts. Do not believe anything they say.

I only give Sun Devil 5 stars because it isnt possible to give them more stars! While waiting for my truck to be finished, I waited in the waiting room. I was never so impressed with an automotive repair shop as I was with Sun Devil! The manager just happened to be working the counter. One customer, after another, after another, he never ceased to amaze me with the answers, explanations, facts and the professionalism with which he treated his customers. Every one of several customers, both on the phone and in person, were treated to honest answers and fair treatment. I feel certain that he had no idea that he was unintentionally being observed. His honesty and the integrity of the entire operation were on display for any and all to see.What I personally saw earned Sun Devil a reputation to be admired and highly sought after. Just weeks later I had the opportunity to recommend my grandaughter (a new driver who earned every nickel to buy, insure, and maintain her own car). My grandaughter had gone to another mechanic and had been told that her repair would cost $3800-4000. Sun Devil did it for $500. You may feel comfortable in recommending your family as well, at least in my opinion.

This is the second Sun Devil Auto location I have used, and both experiences were great. I used the “Request an Appointment” online option at 10:30 at night, and requested an appointment for the next day. I woke up to an email back first thing in the morning! They offered me multiple appointment options to ensure there would be a time that worked with my schedule. I was in and out for an oil change/tire rotation in under an hour. Both men at the front desk were very helpful and friendly, they gave me an estimate up front, and let me know what maintenance items would be upcoming for my Jeep in the future after everything was completed. I definitely will be using Sun Devil Auto on Power Road from now on!

I went to a different Sun Devil Auto location about 16 years ago and had a terrible experience. When my Mini Cooper recently needed service, I was really hesitant to take it back to a Sun Devil Auto, but I am glad I did. They really went out of their way to provide great service. I had issue after issue with the cooling system and they would tell me to bring it back until it was right; repairing a lot of the issues at no cost. The store Manager Bob Ford is a stand up and honest guy. People sometimes feel cheated by auto mechanics, but that was not my experience at this Sun Devil Auto. I will recommend them to any one I know in need of auto repair.

Stopped in for a simple oil change, theyre not just your typical service shop. We have a baby girl on the way so they took the extra time to go over the vehicle and talk about my concerns. Decided to to a brake fluid change to see if I would gain more peddle, well that didnt work and they didnt charge me. We really appreciate the great service. They have the best customer service and mechanics on staff. My car overheated in Tempe on a Sunday. I called them the next Monday morning and they towed my car to Mesa (closer to my house) free of charge. They were in quick contact with me and told me exactly what the issue was and was up front about how much it would cost. The experience with this business was exceptional. They did a great job and I had my car back the same day. I will definitely be giving these guys my business again.

I like this shop. After an oil change with inspection, the staff were patient in answering the questions the report brought up and not at all pushy. I have only been to Sun Devil a few times over the years, but have always had a good experience there.

Our truck wouldnt go into reverse and had to be towed on a Saturday afternoon. After the tow they were able to get our front calipers, rotors, and pads before they closed. Very happy with the service.

I have been taking my car here to this Mesa location off Power for years. They do a great job changing the oil but for major repairs and brakes go get your car inspected at another place. They do not tell you what is wrong with your car because you have to tell them. You cant even get a straight answer whn you ask questions about repairs on specific parts.

As a repeat customer I went to get my oil changed and they mistakenly put in the wrong blend. After I got back home and realized that they put the wrong blend in I wrote a review stating such. The next day I received a call from Steve, the manager. He apologized and asked that I come back and have the correct oil replaced at my convenience...NO charge, even though the oil I had it replaced with was $10 more.I will continue to be a customer and admire Steve for his proactive role in resolving their mistake.

Even though they quoted a price to us, and when we got there we found out there was a miscommunication on the type of engine we had, they still honored their original quote which was lower. I dont know anyone who does that anymore and honor what they say. Thank you very much and you just won my business from now on.

We have been using this Sun Devil Auto location for the last several years. Bob, the store manager (and all the guys there) are great to work with and ar honest about what you really need or don’t need. I could go into some detail about what Lexus told us we needed to do with my wife’s 2004 Lexus with only 40k miles on it, i’ll just say Bob saved us $3000+ on what was really needed. I haven’t been back to Lexus service since and I haven’t regretted that decision for a second. I also took both F150’s here also.I would HIGHLY recommend this location, Bob and his guys are top notch.

Used to take my truck there but then their service adviser left and they have had this new guy (will not name) transferred in from another location with an attitude and unhelpful mannerism unwilling to answer questions over the phone. Typical of most shops the answer just bring it down. If customers were able to do that, why would one call in the first place. Now I have to find another place to get work done at, bummer.

Yes the people that work there are very friendly. But I have had many problems with the overall service. The first incident was when I went for a simple oil change. After picking up my car and driving around for a while it began to shake back and forth and eventually shut down in the middle of the road. Turns out the workers forgot to put the oil cap back on (a mistake that could have ruined my engine). The second incident was when I took my car back in for ANOTHER oil change. I asked in advance for them to fill up my windshield wiper fluid since I had none left. After receiving my car, they had not filled my windshield wiper fluid nor had they changed the tag on my windshield saying when to come back in for the next oil change. After three hours of being in the shop they hadnt even changed my OIL!!! They might seem nice but they are very VERY sloppy workers who make the simplest mistakes, how could I have come in for an oil change and NOT even gotten new oil in my car? I DO NOT recommend any one wasting their time.

The people at Sun Devil always take good care of us. The service is top notch and they stand behind their work. They have serviced our familes vehicles from sport cars to SUVs and work trucks, for a number of years. They arent the low cost leader but you get excellent work at reasonable prices.

Not pleased once again. Took car in for estimates. Service agent told us lots is wrong but wouldnt tell us what. When pressed they said they needed to do a couple things, then wash the oil off the engine, THEN they could tell us what was wrong for the thing we brought it in for. Huh? We told them we need a list of estimates before we would move forward and they shut down. They got angry. They would not give us any estimates. And we left no better than when we came. Sorry, but that is not how business works. And you finally lost mine. Gave you guys too many chances. Came back hoping that this time it would be better, but you were fools yet again. Too many good repair places to deal with you any longer. Bad, bad service.

This place is great all the staff is so friendly. Anthony up front was great got my car right in. The tech that did my oil change was brandon he was done with my oil change in no time. Will never take my car anywhere but here. I highly recommend the shop on power Rd in mesa.

This company went above and beyond to take care of my husbands car after his accident. They did a fantastic job fixing and repairing the damage to his car. My Husband however misplaced his Sun glasses and blamed it on this company- and then decided to write a negative comment on there site(which he found later). I have taken my car her 2 times now. First time was a few weeks ago, a little upset because I had told them I wanted to know how much to fix everything wrong with my vehicle and if it would even be worth it to fix it or junk it. Put a little over 1500 into it that time. 2nd time I took it in was a week later and then they told me it was basically going to be about another 5grand to fix it. I am a little more satisfied this 2nd time around cause they are fixing what needs to be done with a little bit of a discount.. I would have definitely given 5 stars cause they do do great work and have good warranty but still a little upset about having to put more money into it than I originally wanted to.. so I give 4 stars.. But great customer service and great work..
