-3 Stars if I could.Originally took in my truck for a bad transmission solenoid. After removing transmission they told me the whole transmission had to be redone. Of course being my only family vehicle I payed the 3K. After 2 weeks they finally call me that my vehicle was ready, didnt even make it past Southern when the vehicle jerked hard & check engine light came on. So I immediately took it back, they inspected it & told me it was a bad solenoid pack. Kept it another 2 weeks, finally picked it up. Everything was good for about 2 months until it jerked hard again & check engine light came on. So I took it back in, they had it for another 2 weeks, by now my tags are up & have to run through emissions. It does not pass, on our way home from emissions it jerks hard & check engine light came on. I now work 14 hours a day Monday - Friday so no time to drop it off because they are not open on Saturdays.I dont trust if I take it back in that they will have it running great again because its leaking transmission fluid, when it didnt beforeThey did my oil change & has a bad code for wrong oilAmong other bad codes

They lied to me. They mislead me. I dropped my vehicle off to them because the check engine light went on . They called me informing me of the issue. They lead me to believe the work they where suggesting i let them do was related to why the light went on. When I picked up my vehicle i learned that the work they did had nothing to do with why the engine light went on. Nothing. I was furious. The engine light going on had to do with a past issue. All AMMCO did was re set the light and it went off. I will never ever trust them again. They should have been up front and honest with me. And they would have had a customer for life..

I deliver my truck with a new shifter cable to be installed my truck was returned to me not shifting my carpet was dirty with grease in my truck they used twist wire on my shifter cable to hold it in place one of the employees had to climb under my truck and manually shift it into drive in order for me to leave I am filing a complaint with the R.O.C corporate and the better business Bureau

Overall thats my final review they switched brake booster but brakes still felt spongy after they claimed to have bled so I rebled them myself and nasty old oil came out which we can see all four wheels were not bled properly

Please read total post.They fixed it early and did an awesome job very pleased with their work and their prices.On that note couple weeks later transmission went out again same problem but worse its been 8 days they have had it and they havent even looked at it Im out $1000.00 for car rental have to have a vehicle and still dont know when it will be done not happy with this service and when I call I feel Im being blown off because its warranty work not a paying customer this time Im just wondering if they even put new parts the first time.

Bought a new transmission over 10 yrs ago. Lifetime warranty came with it, including yearly maintenance and fluid change. Awesome company, friendly staff.

Worth the $350 for them to check out my Subaru outback trans. Ive seen a lot of unhappy reviews about this inspection fee. Its time consuming and labor intensive to have these things just inspected. My mechanic wouldnt touch it with a ten foot pole. There was no good news to give but Nick and Terry helped lead me to better solutions that in the end saved me about 4k. The guys here and thorough and professional.

I chose this location/shop because of the favorable reviews. I brought my 4T40E in loose for a rebuild on 08/19/2020. They got the work done incredibly fast - saved all my old parts - and gave me a can of cooler flush when I picked it up. I installed the trans at home, finished my engine rebuild and fired it up for the first time last night. I cleared the old shift adapts and took it out for a test drive - it preformed absolutely flawlessly. (hats off to the chef)I want to thank the owner and the tech who built my trans - I cant tell you how many reconditioned goodwrench units I either had to remove/replace or repair after installation - it was nice to just hit the key and drive it.Ill recommend this shop to anyone.

UPDATE 8/19/17: A couple weeks ago, I had to bring my car back for some more transmission trouble, it turned out the new clutch Shane put in was a faulty clutch, and over the span of two weeks the transmission leaked out oil to below recommended levels. Tim and Shane at AAMCO were more than glad to fix the issues under warranty. Took them about a whole work week to fix. Doing some final adjustments to the transmission, as well as installing another whole new clutch system. Since the service, the car has been great. As of writing this updated review, it would be about 2 weeks equivalent of the first service that any issue would have come up. But so far the transmission and clutch has been 100% all the way through. I still give this AAMCO, Tim and Shane the 5 star rating, because working on a task this big, there are bound to be some issues. Being a proactive customer makes sure the issue are not severe. Not only that, Tim and Shane stood behind their work and made sure I was fully taken care of the second time around. Thanks again for getting my Subaru back in the road!ORIGINAL: Recently got my 5-speed manual Subaru Impreza back from a week long transmission rebuild. First time bringing my car into any AAMCO business for transmission work. Tim helped me get my car scheduled and checked in a timely fashion. When information on car came through, Tim gave all the info for the rebuild and answered all my questions about the car and cost of the rebuild. Made the process very quick and understandable. From the paper work Shane was the tech that worked on my car. So far driving feels like a completely new car. Loved the service, thank you AAMCO of Mesa!

Took my 2011 mitsubishi eclipse gs sport for a transmission service and was amazed how fast they did it, it runs alot more smoother now. They answered all my questions and received great customer service. Will definitely come back again. Thanks guys keep up the great work.

I brought in my car for transmission repair. My car drove when i brought it in, only missing 3rd gear. they charged $400 to pull the transmission and take it apart. After they quoted 4 grand on the repair i decided to take it to a shop that charged less. They claimed to put my car back together, but when i got it, it wouldnt run. Intake was inside the car, and a transmission or motor mount fell out of the engine bay on the tow truck. Now im down $400 and dont have a running car. Have also taken my car for ac work, they ignored what I had said was the issue and ended up doing something the car didnt even need, and still charged me. Never coming back and I recommend staying clear at all costs.

I brought my brothers 2004 f150 in because it would not shift into park, my brother supplied the new shifter cable. The mechanic said the one my brother supplied was the wrong one. He ordered it from a ford dealership. They used tie wire to connect it to the shifter in the steering column and more tie wire to connect it to the transmission. The truck is completely stock from factory except for the lift kit and tires. The transmission was rebuilt but the linkage on the outside of it is also factory. They charged me $147 to install the old cable back on after they took it off. When I picked up the truck I shifted it in reverse backed out tried to shift it into drive but felt something snap. The shifter didnt work at all I told the guys at the counter. They sent out a worker to climb under the truck and put it in drive manually just to get me off their property. Also they got grease all over the driver side carpet by the door. They returned my brothers truck to me in worse condition than when I brought it in. Finally upon arrival back home I noticed the new shifter cable my brother supplied was not in the vehicle. I had believed they were the transmission experts until my experience at the country club location. Maybe it was an honest mistake but using tie wire twice and breaking the shifting capabilities it had is one hell of a mistake or they had no idea what they were doing or on drugs.

Have always chose Aamco first over the dealership, especially this location. More times than not they are less expensive and just as good at routine maintenance and when something breaks.I like that they are locally owned and that having a good customer relationship is important to them. I use to work for AAMCO years ago and from my 1.5 years experience their I felt like they did quality woirk. So when my transmission went out I took it their. However 6 months later it went out again, I towed it in they had it 1 week and fixed it free of charge under warranty. 6 months later it went out again this time they had it towed in and again they had it 1 week and fixed it under warranty. Now here I am 4 months later abs the case cracked almost certainly do to a improperly installed servo snap ring. This time i ll be without my only means of transportation for 11 days. After 5 days I was Ross they were unable to locate a used case and had to order a new one. They should have just rush ordered a new one as soon as they got it. Theyve had my truck well over 3 weeks over 3 seperate occasions and its been a major inconvience.

I called for some feed back on what was going on with my car. They asked if I could describe what noise, or feeling it was making. So I did they had an idea. That made me feel happy, n some relief.I took my car in to get it looked at, they called they very next day in the morning, told me the diagnoses, and estimation. Best experience I’ve ever had with a mechanic or the like. I have a Honda Accord with a manual transmission and I thought there was a more serious issue going on with it than what it ended up being. The guys got down to the simple issue quickly, and instead of proceeding with a more expensive repair than was necessary, they gave me the diagnosis free of charge, gave me a great deal on an engine oil change, and sent me on my merry way with the knowledge I needed to fix the issue myself. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Y’all have earned my future business for years to come!

I can into aamco the location on country club and southern to get my ac checked and was told I needed a new ac kit. They had payment plans available I was able to apply for one and be approved within minutes through my phone. It only took a day to complete my truck. AC blows beautifully! They were very friendly and nice. I would decipher choose this place for any of my car needs!

Made and appointment online for their store. Got there and was greeted by Tony. He took the details and worked up a price for me. They worked on taking my car apart and found it to be a bigger issue than what was expected. He had them button the car back up and referred me to the car dealership. I brought my truck in as it needed a new starter and they had that ready to go the next day. They also found a wiring issue and were able to fix that while they were at it!

I originally came in for an oil change when they noticed a ticking noise coming from my engine. They quickly identified it as the timing chain guide and suggested that while They were in there itd be best to replace as much as I can so that I dont have problems later down the road. Tim was extremely honest and fair in pricing. Im glad they let me know that I needed additional work done to keep my 350z in Good condition. And not only was the work done well, it was done fast! Honesty! Transmission work is expensive in nearly all cases. Theres much time involved with automotive transmission work so its nice to find a shop thats been in the area for years, has stable long time employees, and dose great work at a fair price. This AAMCO shop is just that sort of place.Im giving them 5 stars because they earned it. Seriously, go here if you need this type of work done. And remember, business like this are franchises, meaning each one will be a little different. Me as well as many others have found this one to be very, very good.If I was pressed into making a suggestion for the business to improve, it would be to revamp the waiting area. But in all honesty what waiting area doesnt suck? Youre waiting after all.

These guys are one of a kind! I called and told them what was going on, they walked me through the whole process. Being a college student, not knowing much about mechanic, this was so helpful!! I found myself in Mesa, AZ yesterday after my son had made a quick decision purchase on a used car. It shook horribly and considering we lived 6 hrs away, I was scared for him to drive it back home. The tires and rims were too big for the well causing some of the shake. After buying new tires and rims to fit the car, and finding the car was still shaking we took the car to AAMCO. Not knowing much about cars, I discussed I had no idea where to go and just needed somewhere to start. Tony listened to our story and then had his service manager Shane take the car out for a drive. He came back and pulled it into a bay. I immediately though this doesnt look good and might be expensive. Shane found the car was missing some bolts to the rear differential and the transmission mount was placed on backwards. In total he spent about an hour looking at our car and fixing what was wrong. Tony came out and told us he was going to do the repairs for free.I am so thankful that we went to this AAMCO yesterday and met with Tony and Shane. My day had been emotional, stressful and expensive. These guys did everything to help me out of a bad situation. Hands down the best customer service I have ever received!!Thank you again Tony and Shane

We were traveling through Mesa on vacation when our motor home lost power and I thought the transmission was slipping. Pulled into Aamco and Mark Erhardt said they would diagnose the problem. The next day we were repaired and on our way again. No problem with the transmission just a collapsed air cleaner choking the engine. A $185 repair that could have been thousands and I would never have known. These guys are good and honest. Nice to see nowadays! Thanks guys.

I went into AAMCO to get my AC checked. They were very helpful and got my car in quickly while I waited. They not only told me what was wrong they showed me! They ordered the parts needed and had it repaired in a timely manner. To top it all off they gave me a great deal!

Ive been bringing my Dodge to AAMCO for over 5 years and every time I do, Im glad I did. Tim is always helpful and willing to work with me and the service is great. Ive gone in for transmission repairs, a water pump, and a radiator. They offer a full range of services, and are always friendly, knowledgeable and very fast. Even when theyre backed up, they always seem to get me back on the road faster than I would expect! We had our a.c. go out on our car last year. We thought we could get things fixed with our warranty, but unfortunately it was not covered. But they helped us with financing and we had our car ready in no time. The whole staff was super helpful. Thanks guys! Our car is doing great!

A $350 diagnostic does not include the transfer case. The transfer case cost is equal to the cost of repairing the transmission. Were looking at a $4000 bill two months before Christmas. Why didnt I just invest this money in to a new car?! Buyer beware. Dont end up like me. Have your transfer case and transmission looked at before ever thinking about spending your money here. Good luck!!

Got my transmission swapped on my truck from these guys and drove it for three days the engine light turned back on so I called to tell them there has beenSome problems with the gears going into 1st gear an the engine lights back on again he saidit wasnt his problem all he does is just replace the transmission so instead of putting up a argument I thought what a bunch of bottom feeders looking for money tell me they can swap out my transmission but because the lights back on its not there problem now they want me to bring it back diagnose it for 100$ which is not right because I paid over 1000 for repairs they should at least work with their customers instead of putting money first so I dont suggest you go here go else where these guys just want money go with someone who will work with you

Took my truck in because it is not shifting properly. Nick called me and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it after taking it for a test ride. Not sure who drove my truck but they definitely do not know trouble shooting. I told Nick I was confused why they could not duplicate the problems I been having with my transmission. He told me everything checked out fine. So I get back in my truck, put it in reverse and an obvious lag time occurred before it clunked into gear. I get it out on the freeway press on the gas at 65mph to pass and my rpm rise to 4500 but does not shift back down on its own unless I let up on the gas pedal and fudge around with it until it shifts into gear dropping my RPM back down where they should be. I am no expert but I know when my truck is not working properly. I will be taking it to another shop to have it looked at..

Tim has always been helpful and explains things so I can understand them. The service is excellent and the staff is helpful. Lobby is always clean and comfortable. My husband and I bring both our cars here and even refer friends and family.

I took my car into aamco because it was having problems I believed were related to the transmission. I also had a bad oil leak I had taken it to big o tires and was told I dont have an oil leak. Aamco found the problem with my transmission and the oil leak. They fixed my car faster than they said, and did it correctly. They also gave me $100 dollars off the repair. No one wants to spend alot of money to fix there car but sometimes it has to be done. I liked the fact that they found what was wrong and fixed it correctly. Aamco did not jerk me around and I really appreciate it. I will be taking my car there in the future for any problems that arise and for regular maintenance.

This shop has absolutely no concept of customer care. My wife and I took her Nissan Sentra to AAMCO with high hopes since we heard they specialize in transmission repair. We simply wanted the cars transmission to be inspected at AAMCO since it was obvious there were issues or the precursors to issues (e.g. loss of power, not upshifting when necessary, gears slipping). They asked us to leave the car since theyd need a couple days to remove the transmission from the vehicle completely to inspect it thoroughly. What they didnt inform us at the time was that it would cost the same price to reinstall the transmission if we opted out of having work done there. This is important because the shop quoted us an absurdly high price to rebuild the transmission since they informed us the car needed a new transmission or for its current transmission to be rebuilt. We couldnt afford this astronomical rate so I called around to comparison shop. I finally found a more reputable shop who agreed to charge much less to replace the transmission with a brand new transmission directly from Nissan with a 3 year warranty. The owner of this shop explained to me that nobody, including AAMCO, has the ability to rebuild Nissan CVT transmissions. This struck me as odd given AAMCOs claim that they could do just that. The shop sent a tow truck to AAMCO to collect my wifes car. We were instructed by the shop to tell AAMCO to put the cars original transmission in the backseat and to place all the transmissions loose hardware in a box and place that box in the trunk. Later, the tow truck driver called me to say he couldnt find my wifes car at AAMCO. When he finally found the car, a transmission from a similar car was in the back seat, not my wifes cars transmission. Later, after the cars transmission was replaced at the other shop, the shop owner informed me that nothing was placed on the backseat to protect it from transmission fluid or grease except for my wifes sun shade. Thus, the sun shade was damaged. The shop owner needed to have the cars interior fully detailed to clean all the leaked transmission fluid. Also, he showed that somehow the weatherstripping on my wifes cars passenger door was damaged at AAMCO. When we picked up my wifes car from that shop, the owner also showed us how AAMCO also broke a dipstick and a hose clamp in the process of removing the transmission. The car also had an assortment of random car parts belonging to different cars in the trunk. He also told us how the original transmission had metal shavings in the transmission pan. To determine if there was an issue, all AAMCO had to do was to pull this pan...not the entire transmission! I called AAMCO to request a full refund since we had such a negative experience. The owner, Nick, refused to refund us in full. Instead, he offered to resolve our specific issues. Dissatisfied with this result, I called AAMCO corporate. They said that since AAMCO shops are all individually owned and operated as franchises that their hands were tied and Id be completely at the mercy of this AAMCO shop. I realized there was nothing more I could do but take my wifes car back to AAMCO to have the issues resolved. When I showed Mark the problems he told me that his technician who could fix them had left for the day but that he would have him call me. I gave him my phone number and we left. I waited and waited and never got a call back. After a week of waiting I called AAMCO last Friday. Mark answered and said that someone would call me. I gave them the entire weekend and Monday but never received a single call. Frustrated, I called again today. Mark answered. After explaining the situation to Mark again, Mark transferred me to Nick. Nick said that since I had called corporate before that I must take up my issues with them and not with Nicks AAMCO shop. So I called corporate today and left a message. I highly doubt anything will come from this. Im sure that Ive just been sent on a wild goose chase because Nick and his lousy team at AAMCO dont give a damn about me or my wife.

Took me in with a overdue transmission fluid change and done in less than an hour with no appointment very informative .

2013 Dodge Journey messed up one day to the next called aamco and they picked up my truck right away ! Got to work and had it fixed up right away! This location was wonderful! I was told by the dealership that I needed a new transmission and I did not feel that they had correctly investigated the issue. Tim had me come right down and worked very hard to resolve the problem without having the major expense of a transmission replacement. They took the time to trouble shoot the issue correctly, and although I unfortunately needed a new transmission I felt secure knowing this shop took the time to look into all less expensive options first. They were fun, professional, and took very good care of me and my car. I will bring my car to this shop for all future repairs, as I know they are a trustworthy business and will work hard to make sure I do not pay for unnecessary repairs.

Tony and Nick are awesome just got oil change and only took 30 minutes rather than sitting there all day. So glad my niece recommended these guys to my family. They are now going to be our go to mechanics from now on.

This particular AAMCO has some special people, excellent diagnosis can save you trouble and money. Second opinion there, a mechanic Allen saved us money with correct diagnosis. Use them a lot.

Great service and great technicians! I have a 99 Blazer S-10 and they keep my transmission in perfect shape. Traveling across country or locally, they keep me trucking.

They are amazing! We are a Food Truck and they got us in and out of there within 2 days. Fixed our Spark plugs and added a new Radio . Love these guys!

We have been coming to AAMCO for about 6 years now. Tim and Toney and the crew have been very good to us. They are all very friendly and professional. They do their best to get your vehicle serviced and back to you as quickly as they possibly can.I recommend anyone time here you will be happy with the quality of work and prices.

This Aamco tried to rip me off for over $3000.00. I went there to get my transmission serviced. I was there less than 10 minutes and they came to me and told me that the planetary gears were ruined and that it would cost between $3000 and $4000. to get it rebuilt. Only five minutes later my truck was ready to go. My brother-in-law who has many years experience as a mechanic told me that you cant determine if the planetary are shot by just dropping the pan. Also, the pan cant be dropped in less than 10 minutes, and put back and the transmission filled with fluid in a total time of 15 minutes. When I took my truck to another Aamco on the west side, they told me that there was no evidence that the pan had been dropped recently. This was a total scam to rip me off.

Tim always does a great job for us. Today I brought my 11 year old car in for an oil change and to have Tims team look for potential problems. They have always be honest with me. Found no problems and had me out of there in 40 minutes. I am bringing my wifes car in for the same service on Friday. Thanks Tim.

I have brought my vehicle to AAMCO on Country Club on several occasions and have been taken care of in a very professional manner . They have done excellent work on my vehicle and they have had it ready in a timely manner. Tim is very easy to work with and I feel he is a man of his word will do what is necessary for your vehicle to be safe on the road. I would highly recommend this shop for all types of vehicle repair/maintenance.

The first time I used these guys I was VERY impressed. They rebuilt my transmission in under 24 hours. They didnt tighten down the heat shield all the way and it was making a rattling sound but It was an easy fix. This last time was a whole other story. I brought my car in to get a fuel leak fixed and they said theyd have it done that day. Well 30 minutes from closing I called them, since i hadnt gotten a call, and they informed me they had to order parts but assured me my car would be fixed first thing in the morning. Well i call at 2 the next day, since I hadnt recieved a call yet, and again they assure me my car would be done that day. 30 minutes from closing and I have to call again since no one has called me. They inform me they still didnt have all the parts they needed and it wouldnt be done today! So i had to take an uber to and from work. Finally they call me and inform me that my car was done. When I went in to pay the bill the technician acted like i was an impatient customer and two of them joked about it right in front of me. These guys know what they are doing when it comes to fixing vehicles but they lack in the customer service department. Theres no communication and they are very arrogant.

The guys at AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in Mesa on Country Club ROCK!! Tony and Tim and the rest of the crew were not only helpful, friendly, and fair, they also got my truck diagnosed and fixed in less than 24 hours. I called on Monday morning, took my truck in for a no charge diagnosis, received a phone call from Tony within 1 hour of me dropping it off with a diagnosis and price. He ordered the parts after my verbal commitment and called me at 11:30 Tuesday to say my truck could be picked up. These guys were VERY professional and fair and I will NOT hesitate to refer them to friends (especially single women, like myself), family, co-workers, or anyone who may be in need of a great auto shop with fair people working there. THANKS again guys for your help!!

This place is awesome I gave them a 5 star but if I could put more I would. Wayne and Tony are great they did such an awesome job on my car and if I have any other problems I will return.. I highly recommend this place

Love this place! I worked with Stephanie and she is great! The owners area also wonderful. I have been taking my truck to this place for years.
