Went in for an oil change before a trip out of state because I figured I would need one as its been a while and had a great experience. They informed me my oil was still very clean and full and I would have enough for a safe trip. Being a female this makes me very happy knowing I wasnt just trying to be ripped off. Zander, Brandon, and Dominik all had amazing customer service. I would recommend going here!

Check engine light came on while leaving work. Swung into my nearby Duke with my window sticker that say Free checks Anytime. I pulled in around 4:30pm with no cars in the bays or parking spots I thought it would be a quick in and out. Once I went inside I was greeted by two men and was promptly told they were done for the night and had too many projects backed up outside, again no other customers in sight. I believe the website says they are open until 6PM and just needed a simple code pulled to make sure I was safe to drive back home. Unfortunately not.

This location has been run poorly for years, same problems, they never improve. You would think one could come back later and see an improvement but it never happens. Poor communication, the techs dont speak clearly, techs are unprofessional, management never gets involved, everyone is clearly disengaged and not interested, they never reset the oil change light, they never get the mileage to return number correct, the filter is not seal tight. They dont ever try to compromise to allow feedback to try and correct the situation. Duke of Oil is a good company its just the Merrillville locations have incompetent help and are run poorly. Bad, bad bad! I should have changed it myself had I known Id have to go through and re do everything.

I took my car into Duke for an oil change. I was desperate for an oil change and asked if they did BMW European oil. Yes they stated. A month later l went to have my oil checked, I was concerned about the oil being low when l had just had this done. The guy says, Stating the oil pan had a leak. That did not make sense. He states, they dont do that kind of work had to take to BMW. Okay, l came back due to them doing the oil change. However, The guy topped off my oil I paid for this because it was European oil right and l left. I still have both receipts.Now Duke was where l normally came for my other car for several years with no issues ever. Until now. This was my reason for bringing my BMW in for a simple oil change nothing more that day, because my mechanic for my BMW was closed.February 23, 2021Today, l bring my car into my BMW mechanic who provides maintenance and oil change to this car asked who changed my oil last and l told him Duke Oil only because he was close the day l return to town and needed an immediate change of oil due.Mind you, no one has ever changed my oil but him and he knows the make up of my vehicle. He tells me Duke Oil put silicone around the cap where the oil is to drain. He shows this to me and the manager. The cap was loose and wiggles when he put the tool in and stated he had to order a new oil pan and other components for my car to be correct again. Now I have an expensive bill thanks to the Duke oil team.The Duke mechanic who did this should be ashamed of himself for his lack of integrity. The owner Im sure has trained his people moral values when it comes to other peoples property. But, This is my fault for trusting a business Ive never suspected to have an issue with due to my past experiences, until now.QUESTION: Did they ACTUALLY think l would not find this out at my next oil change? It took months, but the truth is out now and the tag is still in my window. My car is up in the air at the time he was ready to change the oil when he saw this madness. This has sickened me to know end. This is senseless and this bill l have to now pay. May God have Mercy on the mechanics who can sleep comfortably at night and be paid for the lack of integrity they have for themselves and others; to perform a public service with no guilt or shame. O my God! You are kidding me.I will never return to this business, reconsider or recommend due to the mechanic who serviced my car. Customers deserve to have quality care when they spend their money for a service to be provided. Our vehicles are important to us and we trust you to do right. I feel this is a bill they should be held responsible for. You broke the cap on my oil pan and caulked it with silicone, this is 😷 🤒 🤢 Wow, wow, and to cover it up at my expense. Thank you so much for this bill. I give 1 star minus 4 for the for this current situation. I was a loyal customer here until this happened.To the owner please becareful of the team you hire. Things like this ruins customer relationship and for years you had my service. Who would have thought bringing my BMW for a simple oil change would turn into this madness. This location is terrible, my oil light keeps coming on after 2 previous oil changes and this being the third and now they tell me my vehicle is leaking oil however before I went to them I had no problems. The district manager is not helpful nor was the manager on duty. The two were very rude and tried to talk to me like I didnt know what I was talking about. They did not fix the problem and stated that it was my fault that my vehicle was leaking oil.

Went to get on oil change and the workers informed me that their supervisor had not shown up for work. At that time the supervisor would have been over 30 minutes late.

They ruined my engine by not tighting the oil plug. Then they put in 3 used bad engins. After the third one broke down again, they refused to fix the problem that they caused. Terrible unfriendly management. Their cooperate office will not return calls, extremely unprofessional. I highly recommend going anywhere else but there.

Went for a simple oil change first of all the guy couldn’t get the cabin filter in and second of all costed me more money because they didn’t even snap back on the air filter. All different codes that the mechanics never heard of because of this air filter it even snapped back on!! Manager says that’s impossible!!! Really never again !!!! Make sure you check everything before leaving never again !!!!

I needed to get my air conditioning fixed. I was hoping for just a recharge, but that wasnt the case. I had more going on than I knew about. Tim took me in the garage and not only showed me what was going on, but explained what needed to be done and why. 5 stars because I was treated with respect by everyone who was there, but Keith and Tim thank you first for fixing my car and secondly for making it a pleasant experience.

Went in to have my A/C repaired. Very friendly and even though there was a wait, it was reasonable due to how busy they were. They were also finished about 2 hours before they said they would be. Very pleased.

Clean, thrifty discounted to me and serviced quickly. If you rent a car use Hertz instead of enterprise youll get better prices. But never change the oil and fluids if the lights come on they. Wont even credit it to your next rental.

Oil changes are really expensive nowadays, especially full synthetic. But overall usually quick service and no problems, lost one star because they didnt apply one of my coupons last time.

I was in an accident in front of this location when I pulled in to their lot they came out and said I had busted my radiator and I couldnt drive my car, they pushed it into the garage order a new radiator since it was late that day I left it. The next morning 2 hours after they opened they called to say it was ready to p/u. Truly excellent service.

They offer a free inspection. Showed me a list of things needing attention. I got one thing done. Good work, although seemed to take longer than needed for the particular fix (battery replacement).

Next to going to the dealership this is the best place to take your vehicle. Of course its no different than any chain oil change places as far as trying to sell services, but - I can only speak for us- they dont push anything you dont actually need. They are polite and professional. The plus is the shop attached to it that can fix any serious issues and they do an excellent job. Been taking care of our vehicles for 8 years now...

Absolutely horrible experience! Went there for an alignment and oil change, 15 minutes into the oil change they claimed that my battery was dead, saying that they had to jump start it, very odd considering my car started just fine for me and the gentleman who drove it into the bay earlier. They of course tried to up-sell me a battery claiming my battery was completely dead. I of course declined and they kept pushing it. After my experience was complete, I went home to check my battery output, and it was running at full capacity, isnt that ironic?.. I had also noticed they hadnt reset my maintenance computer in my car, shady. I then checked my oil since I was already sketched out about the situation, I found out they shorted me a full quart of oil! Wasnt even close to being filled all the way. This place is full of frauds and crooks who have zero experience on performing any sort of car maintenance. Do not trust them touching your car. I will never return and will continue to do my oil changes myself for half the price.

On December 8, 2017, I brought my vehicle for an oil change and check on differential fluid. I paid $70 for said services. Upon turning into a fuel station, I heard crunching metal under my vehicle. I investigated and found the skid plate was not put back on properly. Immediately I called and spoke with Nathan. I took the vehicle back to this location. Nate stood holding 3 bolts in his hand and informed me he terminated the employee that worked on my vehicle. I was given a free oil change. Nate bent my skid plate back into form and installed the 3 missing bolts.Today, 2/17/19, I visited the location to get my free oil change. I was informed by Zach that my skid plate was now missing. Zach accused me of taking my vehicle somewhere and alleging the skid plate was removed. I was completely surprised that my skid plate was missing. Zach told me I was “acting” because I was trying to get something for nothing. I pride myself on truthfulness and honesty. He then tried blaming that the vehicle had almost 300,000 miles on it. It’s funny, my name nor my vehicle was nowhere to be found in their computer system today. Thankfully, an employee present today was also present back in December. I also found out that the employee who worked on my vehicle in December was not terminated until recently because other incidents occurred with the same employee.DO NOT bring your vehicle here.

The employees werent rude, but they did convince me to get extra work done on my vehicle when my engine had a knock. Im the opposite of savvy when it comes to automotives, but my boyfriend and I spent $200 dollars on engine work for a motor that failed less than three days later. The $200 wouldve been much better spent on my towing fees or yaknow, the motor replacement. I wish they wouldve just been honest with me from the get go that the motor would fail inevitably and quickly, and that the oil change/fluid flush/or whatever wasnt going to do anything for me or my car.

I came in for an oil change and tire rotation.. They were great I had wheel locks on my van and couldnt get them off cause I didnt have the key. They actually told me once I got them off I could bring my van back and they would do my tire rotation. They are real professional Ill go back.

I was having problems with my brakes on the way in from Pittsburgh to Merrillville Indiana. I made it to my motel The Clarion Inn and asked a young lady at the front desk Becky if she knew of any auto service centers. Becky recommended I call and talk to Sean at the Duke of Oil and he scheduled an appointment for Saturday ( the next day ). I went in and the Manager Larry actually did the work for me not only was I safe to drive home, the cost was very reasonable We need stores in the Pittsburgh area that are as friendly and honest as Duke of oil!

So called professionalism and they did a diagnostic that was apparently the wrong reading when they gave us the reading as we went to get exactly what they said was wrong done and it turned out it wasnt the problem. The amount to fix a engine sensor was going to be $900??? The part cost only $30 bucks or something... pay all that money to them and if the situation wasnt corrected then what? Why I took it to another shop which was Midas who did the same job $400 cheaper yet that didnt fix the issue.

Told me I needed over $500 worth of work done on my breaks because I heard squeaking. I just bought my car not too long ago do i thought that was strange. I got a second opinion & theres absolutely nothing wrong. They stated the squeaking is due to the car sitting for a while before driving. Never again. Ill continue to go to Jiffy Lube.

I was a regular costumer for everything! Oil, changes, tires you name it. Last june 2015, I took in my Chevy traverse to get a back tire fixed and to do my regular oil change. Took them hours and hours to come back and tell me that they replaced my tire because it could not be fixed (understandable). However they said we took your car after the oil change was done, for a drive and it died on us(there was nothing wrong with my car prior to my visit, they knew it I was a regular there for maintenance) we cant even started. We had to push it back into the garage There was something wrong with it before you got here today! I proceeded to tell them Of course not you know for every little thing Im cautious with my vehicle . They said the engine was completely dead!!! I was devastated and in tears. I had my car towed to South Lake Auto (near south lake mall) Guy name rick immediately informed me they had ruined my engine by driving it dry with no oil!! I ended up eating all the costs of almost $10.000.00!!!!! Never go there!! ever!! They will rip you off!!! If i could i would sue their pants off, unfortunately I did not file anything.

They were charging my elderly neighbor $900.00 for 7 hours of work to change her heater core. My husband did the work in 45 minutes in the cold elements for a total of $110.00!!!!! That was the cost of the part and 1 jyg of undiluted anti freeze! Thank god I was with her! Idk about this location its the one by albanese candy store!

After oil change ...i gave to them $10 tip too..I got too much oil leakage and I went there again, while They were checking they broke radiator pipe and they said it just happened and told me go auto fix center and They fix it but they told me pay for that and told me just happened...must pay .....how can I pay ..for just happen through their hand...even they didn’t tell me to before for fix it and pay ..they told me about oil leaks and it costs for fix it. They have videos and they hv to check it ...they said it just happened and too much heated engine and that’s wt happened....in auto fix center incharge name is Lorry at Merrillville..he didn’t before drop the my car to pay .. he said to me he can fix it and then I thought that they did it and they can fix it ...finally they billed and pay for that and get my car...it was great experience..I didn’t hv before in jiffy lube..excellent service at jiffy lube..thx.

I went into their other shop the end of February (that they say isnt meant for repairs like that. Then why not send me to this shop to get it done in the first place? Anyways...)for a tire valve replacement that included the sensor so my car would still read out the tire pressure. It was completed, and when I got my car back the light was still on and the tire pressure still was not populating. The person who took it to get repaired informed me the mechanic told them that it will regulate and shut off after driving it for a bit. No biggie the tire was staying inflated. I gave it some time and decided on my next free day off Id stop in to see if they can correct it. They sent me here because they then let me know they really have no way to correct that issue there which was literally the same issue I came in for in the first place but without a leak in the valve being present. Went in let them know they had no idea what I was talking about and saw nothing in their system. They took it in and did something which they did not notate in their system of what exactly they did but told me that the sensor was not communicating with the main computerlike the others are so they reset the system is basically what I took away from that. The dash light was off but the tire pressure was still not showing. It stayed off the whole 5 minutes it took to get home. The next day the light was back on and now none of the tires are reading out the tire pressures. I was finally able to go in today and was told it shouldnt be doing that and they would have to run some diagnostics and it would cost me. At that point I was like well I want a refund as this repair that I paid for was never completed. They then started just coming up with excuses, The batteries in the sensors probably died. The system probably needs to be reset by Toyota, we dont have the ability to do that here but they are going to charge you.Its probably something else causing the problem. At that point I was done and came to the realization I dont think they knew what was going on and they were not going to own this interaction. While I was there they checked the sensors and I saw with my own eyes their machine read no sensor. I went back over to the shop by GFS which they couldnt say anything different either. The original guy who did it was there and he has his own tool that he uses there and checked them and he says the sensors are reading out. But the light is staying on and still no pressure read out. This should be corrected as I paid for a repair not just s part and the repair has not been completed. Even if all the other 3 have dead batteries the one I just paid to get replaced should be working. I was given the number to the DM, as I am not paying for this when I already have, which is now occurring to the entire system. This is a complete lack of setting proper expectations and owning your customer experience as a service and repair center. I would never complain if I saw that this issue occurred naturally. But as the system that is now malfunctioning was hooked up to your computer and reset I strongly believe that is an issue cause by your shop and the fact the sensor and valve I paid for still hasnt been fixed!

I called and confirmed their 2995 oil change that included a for tire rotation. When I pulled into the shop he said that he would rotate the tires if possible. I asked what would stop him from rotating the tires. He said the tires were worn then he would not rotate. So when I picked up my car the oil change was $10 more for no rotation because its still under the 3995 category for oil change and I was not eligible for the special of 2995. I feel this was most deceptive and a bait-and-switch. I wont be back.

Crooks! Convinced my unknowing wife that her brand new F-150 needed an engine flush with her 1st oil change at 3000 miles. They even left the undercarriage cover dragging on the ground. Offered a free oil change for the next time. GTFOH. District office was no help. A bunch of crooks. Dont give them a nickel.

Normally have good service until this most recent time. They told me my oil plug which is a bolt t to keep the oil in was getting rounded (stripped) off. I’ve been asked the kid how that happens, he said from using the wrong size rachet to get it off. I then proceeded to tell him this is the only place I take My car to get the oil change and they never said that the first time I took it there, so clearly they are using the wrong size ratchet in stripped it themselves. I then proceeded to tell the manager that I did not want to pay for the bolt, Because they stripped it themselves. I also told him what the kids told me who brought me the bolt and said that how that happens is using the wrong size ratchet the manager really did not care to hear what I had to say and said that they only use the right side they only have the right tools and not to worry about it cause I have that I have a good one in there now after I’m paying for it. Will not be going back there anymore because the manager doesn’t care to help out a customer who’s been there multiple times. They also found it more important to stop in the middle of my service to get food from the food truck and making me wait even longer for my car to be done. Very unprofessional.

Had smoke test and problem fixed that they said was wrong. Two days later check engine light came on and same code is coming up. They obviosuly just cleared it. Took it back and was told now its another part and is going to be another $300. Rip off! These people are exactly why others dont trust mechanics.

The general manager likes to tell women that their cars are going to blow up and all other types of Scare Tactics in order to try and sell services. They try and sell you a whole new oil pan after they strip the threads because they dont have enough common sense to retap the pan and use an oversize plug. Then when youre pissed off and call in and use adult language they hang up and retreat to a safe space. Instead of apologizing for shotty work and BS sales tactics they were more focused on my offensive language. Well F*** you Duke of Oil.

Had them perform a Tire balance of all four tires about two years back. The rims were on my second car and since I had a work car, and my wifes, my sports car sat in the garage most of the time. About three months ago a girl killed my work car so Im left with driving my sports car as a DD (daily driver) and being forced into having to drive this car I decided to get my rims re-balanced at a shop that would put the weights on the inside with the tape weights.After taking my car to a Tire store They proceeded to take my expensive rims off my Subaru and try to take the center caps off, (these Enkei rims have about five allen bolts that hold them on, and they have to be off to balance) but couldnt break them loose and proceeded to ask me who the heck did my last balance. He then tells me that the last place that did them torqued them down way to much and they cant do the balanceSo I then took my not so happy self to get them to print a receipt for me and told them what happened, to give them a chance to make it right, I talked to a kid named (Rickey Espinosa) service consultant, no manager in sight, Tho he claimed to be an acting manager and he says to me that Ill have to eat the cost due to the time laps all with a smirk. really?
