Im 81 years old and have bought and traded a lot of automobiles at many different dealers. This was my first experience buying an auto through CARMAX and my wife and I agree that it was the best experience weve ever had with purchasing the automobile we wanted. CARMAX not only gave me hundreds of dollars more in trade than anyone else but got me an upgrade in the same model we wanted for less money than anyone else. Everyone we dealt with on this transaction were very helpful in their search for the auto we wanted while being very courteous and not pushy and pressuring to sell us something else. I highly recommend the dealership at CARMAX in Melbourne and whenever I need another auto I will definitely go directly to them.

Imagine the scene - your significant other is sure you are wasting your time - you will never sell our handicap van - no way! No how! I found a totally different experience - I filled out the online form and got an appointment that day - at 6:00. The rep David was very professional - going through the vans systems, taking pictures, and double-checking information. About 35 minutes later he came back with a written estimate - more than I was expecting! The next day I brought my wife along for the ride - 15 minutes later I had the check - and the satisfaction of making this happen.

We sold a vehicle at the Palm Bay location today and the overall experience was excellent! We completed an online appraisal last night and then brought the vehicle in for the official appraisal and to complete paperwork. The in-person appraisal was same amount as the online. Carmax is a mixed bag, their cars are a bit expensive considering the current market, its reasonable for that but hard for a guy like me to do a minimum 15 grand car. But they will ship them state to state for you. I had orded a Prius from the one down past Miami and they never sent it, but that isnt this dealerships fault at all. They refunded my shipping and outright paid for my shipping on my next car after that.Got a ford fusion 2011 from north Carolina and am in love with it, and even though the dealers dont work on commission, they extremely nice and helpful, every step of the way. No matter what Id still rather buy cars from here then any dealership with how upfront and real they are with you.I also got my car appraised and sold for 2 and a half grand despite having a engine light problem, which is awesome. They put it right into my downpayment same day, which lowered my monthly cost.

Customer Service was excellent from the moment I got out of my car. No pressure to buy. I was assisted by Billy and he answered every question. Carmax is truly the easiest way to shop, get financed and drive home with a great car. They even offered to bring it to me to test drive and deliver it to my house upon purchase. I felt like what I wanted really mattered to them, I got exactly what I wanted and it was the easiest thing I have done all year!!

Had an appointment to sell a car. I was turned away because they were swamped. I have two jobs and took time off to sell a car. I even showed up ten minutes early and was told that they would see me then the clerk went home. What is the point of an appointment if you dont have an appointment? Poor management here for sure.

I purchased and traded in a vehicle from the Palm Bay FL Carmax. I filled out an online report of my trade-in. I was happy with that number, so I took it to the store to finalize the offer. I was pleased that they honored the online price. We ended up wanting a vehicle brought in from a different location. After it got here, there were some issues with the vehicle that I felt needed to be addressed. They noted everything and promised they would take care of the issues. Happy to report they took care of everything like they said they would. Lee was my sales woman, and she was very helpful throughout the entire process. Found my wife and I the perfect fit vehicle for us. When they had it for multiple days to fix the minor issues, they gave us a loaner vehicle. The mechanics called every day to give me an update, which I really appreciated. The mechanics names were Nick and Ben. Anyways, really happy with the whole experience and would really recommend the Palm Bay location. 10/10!

Very easy purchase. This was my first vehicle purchase from CarMax. I searched online for the vehicle through their website. I found it online and paid the $99 fee to have it shipped to the closest store to me. I used my credit union for financing as their rates were higher. I paid their asking price with no haggling whatsoever as the vehicle was priced right. I had an issue with the touch screen on the vehicle and CarMax replaced it and made it right. I recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle. They stand behind there word.

I bought my cadillac cts from carmax in Melbourne and 2 days later I drove it up to Kansas to visit family and on the way up the ac went out I continued on with my trip and I called on my way back to make an appointment since it was under warranty still the day after I returned from my trip I took it in and they wouldnt repair it they said I was a couple of hundred miles out of warranty honestly I believe they should have taken care of it. These guys are so awesome!! The car buying process was as quick and painless as possible, without the pressure of a dealership, but as knowledgeable and experienced as one. I bought the car over the weekend and noticed a small problem that I thought could be easily and quickly fixed with the right knowledge and equipment. I tried to get in to get it serviced but they were booked up til next week. I took it in this morning after explaining the situation and they took my car back and fixed it no problem in less than 20 minutes!! Now I can drive my car stress free!! MILITARY BEWARE!! We drove 8 hours the night before I deployed to CarMax in Melbourne FL to ensure my family had a good working vehicle after our last one was totaled. We were sold a vehicle that supposedly passed a rigorous inspection only to have the water pump pulley blow up before we reached home, spraying coolant everywhere and rendering the vehicle inoperable.It was midnight, I had to wait on the side of the road with my family while we waited for the tow, and I flew out in 6 hours. I fit the 359.00 bill, luckily, I was able to talk to Jonathan the salesman who said we would be reimbursed to have it towed to the nearest CarMax. We said that we did not want the vehicle at all and wanted an immediate refund. At that point we should have left the car on the side of the road and had the dealer take care of it knowing what a headache it has become for us.CarMax offered to also pay us back for fuel expenses, but only after we requested it days later stating we wanted compensation for the huge failure. We finally got paid back for the tow after It accrued months of interest on the credit card. After the offer to pay for fuel, they then wanted receipts (like we had planned on needing to show anyone our receipts when we started this drive??). I supplied bank statements with gas station charges from that very night but that was not good enough for CarMax to honor their offer apparently.I would only receive a response from the manager Billy if I called and emailed and happen to get him in the office. He said that they would not honor their offer because they had to have receipts. He said that he would make it right and get us compensated through other means (prepaid visa or maintenance was offered) It has been 5 months now and we still have not heard anything from CarMax despite repeated calls, text, and emails.No apology or acknowledgment of their error was made to us. I was very lucky to have been able to make calls during deployment so that my wife did not have to deal with this along with the rest of what a deployed spouse has to endure. We drove to a CarMax in a military friendly area thinking it would be military friendly. It has been quite the opposite experience and I will ensure that I am letting all of our friends stationed at Patrick Air Force base to stay away and take their business elsewhere.

Bought my son a car couple years ago. Sales people make things sound luke its a good investment to purchase an extended warranty through their car max care. Sounds good in theory until something happens to the vehicle and no one in max care is able to help you while you have to be the middle man between the carmax care people and the mechanic.....end result you still have to pay out of pocket because no.one really cares....

This location has been an absolute pain to deal with. They sold a car to someone else, while using my personal information in the transaction (and sending me their personal information). This is a breach of privacy and completely unacceptable. I have been waiting for answers for two days. I spoke with local law enforcement, and the officer mentioned that this isnt the first issue (like mine) that hes heard of with this location. I am beyond livid that CarMax has been so slow to address this issue and identify how my personal information was used in this transaction.Update (02/04/2021) - After the sales manager (Brandy) promised to call me back last night, I never received a call back.Update (02/05/2021) - I initially contacted CarMax on 02/02. Seeing as I was promised a call back, from management, on 02/03, it appears that I have been blown off.

First time buyer and I was given a rep by the name of Jonathan. AT FIRST, I seemed very optimistic about buying my first car here.. Everyone I encountered seemed welcoming as I came in, as was I. However, I of course, was led on by a lying salesman at the end. My worst thoughts came to life. Had explaining the urgent need of a vehicle to Jonathan, I THOUGHT I would truly get as close to my ideal vehicle/budget as possible. I test drove a vehicle that was not told to me THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS IN THE BUILDING, that it would be transferred from the dealership. I called back to confirm an appointment for 2 vehicles I had held for the next day, only to be told it was not put on hold because of miscommunication and being transferred. Upon realizing afterwards, earlier after I test drove the vehicle, I was told by Jonathan dont get it because it has a high interest rate to sway me from purchasing the vehicle. I CLEARLY DISAGREED ABOUT THE RATE BECAUSE IT WAS JUST A OPINION AND CONFIRMED VERBALLY TO HOLD THE VEHICLE UPON MY RETURN THE NEXT DAY TO PURCHASE. Upon speaking to Jonathan once I received a nonchalant text from another agent Michael, whom I never even was working with notifying me of a transfer on a vehicle I had on hold... I immediately called Jonathan who revealed he was aware of the transfer AND WITHHELD the information from me THE ENTIRE TIME, which would have made a difference in my purchasing ability of this specific vehicle. Jonathan even then made a remark of LITERALLY SAYING you cant just keep test driving cars when I only had looked at 3 AND NEVER WAS TOLD THERE IS A LIMIT ON TESTING A VEHICLE BEFORE BUYING because I have never heard of that! Even if this is to be true, NO CUSTOMER SHOULD BE SPOKEN TO THIS WAY. I carry myself well and am an intelligent intellectual, so this encounter never became tainted until dealing with a dishonest salesman via phone call hours later. I spoke to Jonathan with the utmost respect even despite his rude remarks earlier in person. He decided to be disrespectful just because it was hot outside and he was being LAZY AND RUDE!? I will NEVER recommend any of my colleagues nor clients to shop Carmax in Melbourne, ever! I am highly disappointed and have 0 faith in their character/leadership at this store. It should NOT BE THE NORM for sales reps to mislead buyers! Buying a vehicle should NOT be regarded as stressful/hassle.

As a first-time customer of CarMax, I was initially skeptical that I would be given a low offer for my 2007 Lexus RX350, which I had tried to sell online but with little success. So I made an appointment with CarMax in Melbourne, FL, and when I arrived an appraiser, Lee, introduced herself, explained the appraisal process, and added that because of the pandemic CarMax now conducts touchless appraisals by asking the customer to open all doors, trunk, SUV lift gates, etc. The appraisal took about 15 minutes, after which Lee sent to a master appraiser numerous photos she had taken of the interior and exterior of my Lexus. Within ten minutes I had an offer that exceeded my highest expectations--and since I had brought the paper title with me, I accepted the offer on the spot. Based on my experience with CarMax as a buyer of used autos, I would urge anyone who is thinking about selling a good used vehicle to locate the nearest CarMax and obtain an offer. The offer itself is valid for seven days, giving the customer an opportunity to compare offers and/or to attempt to sell the vehicle outright. I doubt that any other competitor will beat the offer CarMax will offer!

I was on a limited time to get my car. I drove a rental and had to leave my rental down the street at that enterprise before they closed. Was able to get everything done and drive away in my car rather quickly and easy. They were all friendly and understood my situation and helped make it a breeze to get everything done. Would go back again.

I have bought 2 cars from CarMax in Melbourne and have had nothing but great experiences. I purchased both cars from David. On my first car, my credit wasnt very good but he made it happen and had no issues with the car. When I seen another car they had listed online a couple weeks ago I contacted David right away and that night went in and he made it happen, again. I had to have it serviced for something minor and the service dept. did a great job and did it quickly. Thank you all!!
