DO NOT RECOMMEND - Extremely unprofessional from beginning to end. The Manager (franchise owner?) Brian, has zero customer service skills or common sense for that matter. Was told take my concerns to corporate, they wont do anything.. way to go Midas! Think Ill just go elsewhere. Easily fixable customer service situation handled poorly and combatively. Plenty of other places on Independence or in Charlotte to take your vehicle. Save your time and your money.

I called in a couple of weeks before to make sure they could do the exhaust work i wanted. Guy i talked to was very friendly and assured me they could do it for $160. I said awesome, then scheduled an appointment. Went in for my appointment and waited 20-30 mins for them to actually get started. Once they got it on the lift, some older fella there insisted i was incorrect about what i wanted done (even though I’ve researched my car and this modification extensively and knew what i was talking about). Then he said it wouldn’t make a difference when i know it would. From the beginning, he had a poor attitude and you could tell he didn’t want to do the work. After agreeing to do the work (at $60 OVER what they quoted me), he takes the saw and starts to cut the completely wrong piece of my exhaust. I stopped him before he did it, as i thought it was clear what i wanted done. Then he threw his hands up and said he can’t do it. So i just wasted an hour and a half of my Saturday morning for something I’ve been waiting on and excited for, for several weeks. I would not recommend this place for anything, as the customer service was par at best, and the attitude of the mechanics was terrible. They will argue and then give up before starting if it seems like it’s not an easy job (even when it is- if i had the tools and the lift id do it myself).

This was the second midasI had been in for the air condition they were doing the warranty work from a previous Midas in Virginia. After they finish they charge me $800 to change the fan clutch saying that would be the problem that was causing everything had to work done. It worked for about 3 to 4 days now I’m in Columbus, South Carolina taking it in tomorrow to have them look at and do more warranty work to hopefully get the AC working.. After tomorrow I’ll determine if it’s worth my time to go back to Midas . I will say at both Midas The people working there have been very nice and pleasant. I just like to get this AC working without it costing me another thousand dollars and I think it will tomorrow when I go back in. That’ll put me somewhere around $3000 to get the AC working. They are visit at a Midas located in Columbus South Carolina. He informed me that one of the parts where they replace the hose that is now cracked and that’s going to be replaced I feel that this shop did that damage when they removed the hose and that was how they called me a week later let me know if that part was gonna need to be replaced. If it was leaking the day of it they would’ve told me at that point it need to be replaced they wait until I was gone and had to come back I wish somebody from corporate would contact me so I can get this resolved.

Was once very well managed and trustworthy. Now I cannot bring my car here for any type of service. After having my starter changed, I noticed spinning sounds with no starts or grinding noises as well. Instead of replacing the starter as per their own warranty they claimed my flywheel was cracked and should be replaced under warranty by my car dealer. My dealer inspected the car, informed me the starter was definitely failing, that my flywheel was not cracked and provided me with the documentation to take back. The managers response? Your dealer is a liar. Seriously? They refused to replace their faulty part, refused to offer refund, refused to even look at the car again. Since then I had the new starter replaced with mechanics who actually know what they are doing, and now my car starts fine, every time. Now I am in the process of contacting Midas corporate to get a refund. All of which could be avoided by simply standing by your own policies. Mistakes do happen. However reputable companies admit their mistakes and correct them instead of arrogantly believing they are infallible.I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I’m a female owner of a 2005 Nissan Altima. The manager/mechanic Brian charged me $1,435 for a alternator replacement, powering steering hose and a/c tube mechanical work. My car was towed in and another mechanic told me that he would have Brian call me back once he returned back to the shop. I left before getting any mechanical estimates and none was provided nor available when I entered the shop (huge mistake!). Even though, I had filled out a estimate/inquiry form online and conversed with Brian over the phone prior to having my car towed in. My car alternator went out while in route to the shop and it set me behind for my a.m. appt. my car was delivered around 2 pm and my family member assisted me in a separate vehicle. While at home Brian called me and only quoted $399 for an alternator, approx $109 for the power steering hose only and I inquired about my a/c not working to full capacity. When I asked was that the full price for the repair he stated “yes”. I told him that was reasonable so to move forward with the work. Approximately 2 hrs max Brian called and stated he was done with my vehicle and informed me that he took a look into my a/c and discovered a punctured tube with a screw in a a/c tube. He said he could order the piece (didn’t have a full quote for it) and have it done first thing in the a.m. by this time it was about 4:30pm. I told him that was fine to hold on to the vehicle I need it working efficiently. Brian called me first thing in the a.m.; approx. around 9 and left a message that my vehicle was ready. I show up to the repair shop and I see an outrageous bill. There was added charges of unknown services rendered that I was unaware of (flushing of vehicle fluids $80+fee?) and was never quoted to me. He intentionally and incorrectly quoted me car part prices without including the labor fees. He charged me $334 for alternator labor close to the $399 he charged me for the part! The shop fee is $80 an hour and Brian didn’t take no more then an 1hr-1 1/2 to work on an alternator for a 15 year old vehicle. I inquired about the bill the gentleman knocked of $20 instead of the $30 from a coupon I had found on Midas website and he rushed to check me out. I’m not confrontational so unfortunately, I paid for it since my car was serviced and what else was I to do? By that night my car stuttered to start and by the second day my car was leaking powering steering fluid like crazy and my a/c still wasn’t coming on blowing full capacity. I called the shop back The gentleman at checkout answered. I informed him of my issues and he had the nerve to quote me $109 for an a/c check. By the third day he took me right in. Brian used mechanical jargon to say he doesn’t take any responsibility of what’s happening to my vehicle. My car steering was screaming it was so loud when I pulled in, not sure if he just put power steering fluid to quiet it but he didn’t service it. He contradicted his self by saying the leaking from my valve cover caused him to not see that the power steering pump was leaking “cause the pump had oil drenched on it.” He stated he could take the pump out to show me what he is talking about but then when I said well you could of took it out to wipe it down to see a hole or run some kind of test on the pump he got silent. His partner even said he could of let the car run for a while to check for leaks. I’m not a trained mechanic but Brian is. I stated I was overcharged in the first place so what can he offer? My family member was with me and stated that he should do it for free because that’s what I paid for. Brian didn’t offer any discounts, he didn’t render any service and he made a smart remark of well I had to put in the time when my family member said I was charged to much! I had to leave and go to another shop to get a steering pump, and a/c quote from another shop that I’m bringing it in to today 8/24/2020 at Gino auto repair. After spending $1,435 on minor repairs. My mother recommended Midas and she is upset! And I’m floored. I will pursue further action if not refunded/corrected.

Relocated to North Carolina and have already experienced professional and kind hospitality. I was informed prior to my relocation that my cat converter would need replaced. It was recommended by Pep Boys that I see Midas, which brought me to the location where Mike the manager and Ernie helped me a great deal. Ernie provided me an estimate over the phone and when I brought my car in, Mike and his staff looked it over. Mike was very kind in explaining the condition of my car and provided me options if I was not able to get my car fixed right away due to my recent relocation. If it wasnt for my fathers persistence and concern in wanting me to get my car fixed ASAP because my children and I are always in it and on the road, I would have easily utilized Mikes cost effective advice. My car was fixed in a timely manner and I appreciate everything and the advice provided by Mike and Ernie. These guys are very nice and most definitely not the kind of shop that wants you to shed out unnecessary dollars. I cant say enough about how well both Mike and Ernie have treated us since we started using their shop a year ago. I have had them do oil changes, random fixes on an older Explorer as well as bought a set of tires from them. They do not sell you anything that you do not need and when they couldnt find any problems with my car after the engine light came on, there was no charge.UPDATE!!!!Things have changed here. Mike is no longer here and neither is Ernie. The new management team is not to be trusted. I took my car in for an oil change and the guy in the shop tried to tell me my serpentine belt was bad, I needed new front tires and my radiator flushed. He seemed a little surprised when I reached in to inspect the serpentine belt myself to find no signs of wear on it. He then tells me oh, it was cracking on the bottom which is wasnt. The tires were fine and have since passed inspection and the radiator is working fine and has no need for a flush. They were all made up.I cant support a shop that lies to its customers and that is why I came back to update my post.If youre looking for an honest shop, Ive since found a new place called Keith Kraft LLC in Matthews on Matthews Indian Trail Rd. The guys there have been honest and have done solid work at a reasonable price.

So disappointing and dishonest. We were trying to make a decision to keep our old car and replace the catalytic converter, or to just trade it in to get a new one. The person at Midas that was helping us was aware of this. We made the decision to put the $1,600 catalytic converter in with the intention that would be the last $$ we put into the car. When we received the quote, they told us it would take 1 hour to install. When we called to schedule the appointment, we again asked how long and were told 1 hour, max 2. When I arrived for the service, the guy tells me they need to keep the car till the next day because the service takes 4+ hours!! ?? Anyways, so we proceed with the service and I pick up the following day. A week later, I went back because the check engine light had not gone off. At that point they informed me that the O2 sensors were also bad, and would require another $550 to fix it. When I asked why this wasnt disclosed when we originally asked for a quote (that this was a possibility), I was given the run-around, told that he didnt want to up-sell me, etc. How incredibly frustrating!! IMO this should have been disclosed upfront, that there was a possibility that these sensors were bad and that it would be an additional $550 if so... Instead we were told that with the new Catalytic Converter, our light would go off and we would pass our inspection. I consider this dishonest and would not recommend this shop.

I understand that that type of thing happens but you cant convince me or anyone else with just half a brain that you didnt already have doubt whether you could afford the salary that YOU offered him. How dare you gamble with a persons lively-hood like that!! You didnt choose Luke. He chose you. He had several, better, now expired, offers on the table but refused everyone so he could help YOU grow your small 2 location almost bankrupt company. I know Luke enough to say that you just let go the one person who could have taken your sales to a much higher level.
