Excellent service! Went in for an oil change Saturday morning, was greeted right away by Dan; we were chatting about one of my tires and found him to be extremely knowledgeable about tire plugs. Before I left, he told me what the total was going to be for my oil change (hate surprises when it comes to settling a bill!) and said it would be ready within 45 minutes. He also told me they didnt close until 6 so if I didnt come back until later in the day, no problem. When I returned, my car was all set. Just a very easy experience with someone that truly seemed to enjoy his job despite the fact that it was a lovely Saturday. This was my first time visiting this location and Ill be back! Monro, Manchester I caution all Senior Citizens beware:On August 2, 2021 I brought my car to Hanover Street shop for a routine inspection. We have been using this shop since 2013 with great results. There has been several changes of managers and crew over the years.I do have an issue with the current staff. This past January I was going informed that my brakes were ok for now but should be changed pretty soon. May 5th the car was brought in for the brake job. A courtesy inspection, at no charge, was also performed. The yellow copy of the courtesy inspection report has all green boxes checked, the car didn’t need any repairs for the upcoming July inspection.We have now come to where my suspicions began.August 2nd I brought the car in for what I thought was going to be an easy “in and out” inspection. The paperwork I had from May confirmed my positive expectations.When Mr. Kevin Gagne, manager of the shop, came up to me to tell me the car didn’t pass inspection because of safety concerns, all the air was sucked out of my sails.Emission Valve. $164.98RF wheel alignment. $124.99Rack & Pinion Total. $730.03RF & LF Gas Struts. $855.00Subtotal. $1875.00Misc. Costs. $39.00Grand Total. $1914.00I found the news shocking and I began to shake all over. I couldn’t think straight. After only 383 miles I now need $2000 to inspect my the car.We took the car to two other garages. Both of them stated there was “absolutely” nothing wrong with the car. The last garage we took it to put an inspection sticker on the car. Total cost $40.I don’t know why Monro decided to SCAM me after eight years of excellent care.The only reason I have come up with is the new staff at Monro on Hanover Street, Manchester, saw a disabled, sixty-seven year old man and thought they could bilk me out of $2000.00 dollars.Consumers beware.

On my way to work this morning, I got a flat tire. I tried to change it myself, but that was a disaster. I called Monro in tears, and the service manager, Keith, was incredibly kind and patient. He gave me estimates for two types of tires and helped me make an informed decision. When the underlying problem was an alignment, he called me right away and gave me an accurate timeline of when it would be done. My car was quite messy, to my dismay, and I apologized to the auto technician, Nick. He said it was fine, nothing compared to the car full of parakeets he once had to work on. Keith and Nick fixed my car, but they also made sure that I didnt feel completely stupid. I will be returning to Monro for all car needs from now on.

Used to be great they would check over your whole vehicle like it was a state inspection but I was just there today now they only do a visual check?! Unless the customer asks? Should probably state that somewhere in the building very sad that this place has gone so downhill my only regret is recommending them to others in the past years

I was recently told that my 2007 Toyota Camry was going to need a major repair on my exhaust from VIP in Derry, NH. I took my vehicle to Monroe Auto Service on Hanover Street in Manchester, NH for a second opinion. The service I received was not only superb, but also very affordable. I was provided with service I NEEDED instead of being up selled on services I did not need for my vehicle. The manager George was also very personable, funny and just an all round cool guy! This business has gained a new customer and I will be back for inspection in the next coming weeks. I highly recommend this place for car maintenance!

Amazing place came in for brakes an oil change and to have my tie rods replaced and they went above and beyond showed me that I had am exhaust leak that wouldnt pass inspection, went as far as to help figure out a solution so I could financially handle everything. As well as took the time to wait for my dad since Im not that mechanical. Will be coming back from now on thank you so much

This place used to be good but the guy there now has ruined it. First I got an oil change went home and it was leaking on my driveway, they did correct it but this never should have happened. Then I went to get my car inspected before I registered it which they said cant be done yet I have done this with every car Ive owned. Then they tell me I need a right front sway arm lin . Several places told me this would be about 100 dollars but when I called Monro I was told it would be 300. Dont waste your time here go somewhere else.

I went here because my rotors were making noises. The gentlemen at the front desk were great. My vehicle was taken in, they assessed what was wrong, got me a price and got my permission before moving forward with any work. They took care of my car and took care of me. I have been coming here for years. These guys are great! I recently had an emergency repair on wheel bearings and they jumped through hoops to make it happen before the end of the day. I highly recommend them to anyone needing fast quality repairs at great prices!

Excellent prices on good products. Very friendly staff. So why two stars? Dont believe the time estimate. I was told a little over an hour for four new tires. I got in there before 1:30 and the car was taken right into the shop. After 3:30, it was finally done. Maybe it was the new wipers that took the extra 90 minutes? I got an excuse about lift use. Valid or not, that did not get me to my 3 oclock meeting that, based on their estimate, I had plenty of time to make. Im not sure Ill be back. If I do I will not be foolish enough to wait for it, which obviously presents problems.

Set up a last second oil change before a long trip. Mike got me squared away and helped with some other issues that my car was having. Definitely go here for great service and attention to detail.

Extremely poor customer service. I asked for a basic oil change and was quoted $25. They charged me $50 when I asked why they explained they put more expensive oil in my car. I was told if I didnt pay they would call the police and they refused to give me my keys. Genuinely shocked by the positive reviews, a real disappointment.

On Tuesday evening (little before close) my SUV high temp sensor went off.... I was able to safely make it to Monro Brake as I was just down road when my SUV started having issues....George immediately came outside, diagnosed the issue, and was able to fix it so I could drive about 25 miles home. I am not from the area and Monro on Hanover Street was the closest place for me to get my SUV looked at..... I will definitely be a returning customer because of the courteous and respectful and friendly customer service I received from George!!! Excellent customer service and good prices

While the facility was clean and inviting, the person at the desk was less then inviting. I brought my car in thinking my power steering pump was going and was happy to find out it was the idle pully. It was nearly $300 just for them to replace the idle pully, which is very high. During the repair I asked if they could check my back brakes and was told they were low and would need replacing. I was quoted $400 for back break replacement which I turned down. As the man walks back into the bay he tells me “you know, that’s a really good deal I gave you for parts and labor. I normally charge $450.” I explained that I have someone who can do my breaks for me at the cost of parts and he rolls his eyes at me and walks back into the bay. Upon completion of the repair I go to the counter to pay and am told that I need a whole new rack because a rubber bushing is missing and am quoted $1200-$1300 for the repair. I am told my car will fail inspection without the repair.I took my car to a mechanic who told me that I needed front and back break pads and that my rack was fine all it needed was a $5 rubber bushing. With my inspection it is costing me $300-$350. Unlike the $1600-$1800 (including the inspection fee) i was quoted through Monro.Monro hikes up their prices and tried to get you to make unnecessary repairs. I will not be using Monro again for any kind of services to my vehicle.

Not sure Id recommend this place again. Oil change and inspection was cheap. They try to find something to get you for inspection (like 1 out of 10 cab lights being out, they replaced all 10 without my authorization). That pretty much doubled my bill. Would not recommend.Printer ink being low made my receipt unreadable. When it was in my hand it was covered in oil from the tech. I wish they stopped sending me coupons in the mail. Only giving 2 stars because nothing bad happened to my vehicle while it was there.

This place has made such a comeback with George taking over as manager! We went in for a quick replacement tire on our fairly new Jeep and when we went to pick it up we were told about a safety concern with our Suv. Not only did the mechanics thoroughly explain the issue but even left the Jeep on the lift to physically show us what they were talking about. The dealership we had bought our Jeep from never said anything but luckily, we still had a month or so on our warranty. If the folks at Monro did not catch this who knows what it would have cost us to fix later. If you want to actually trust your next mechanic- this is your stop!

My first visit with these guys was 11/18/19, however, I can say it will not be my last! George had made an appt for me a few days back, yet remembered me even though I was a first time customer! Remembering a customer, no matter how long they have been there is key in customer service! As I was waiting for my ride to pick me up, I saw excellent customer service happening all around the shop first hand. Their prices are more than fair and reasonable. They do not try to sell you anything. Service is quick (all 4 tires and alignment were done in less than 2 hours despite the shop being so busy) and I feel like my car drives just as good as it did when I bought it brand new!

Its hard to find a good mechanic. These guys are straight forward and only suggest things that are something to worry about or coming up. Great deals on oil changes off and on as well.

They got me in on a Saturday within 3 hours of calling, so I was happy with that. They spent a half an hour calling around trying to find the parts needed, I greatly appreciated that. They do great work and are nice people!

They gave us an honest answer of “yes, but we have appointments all day so I may have to stop working on your car, it could take up to an hour”. I came in due to my Subaru running very low on oil, not only did they take me right in, they even tightened up the rattle in my heat shield at no cost. Then I received a coupon for a $10 oil change. Thats unheard of! Definitely recommend!

I called one night as they were about to close after having an issue with my exhaust that made me very nervous. They were able to get me in first thing the next morning and made me feel at ease that they would try the less expensive option first and gave me a time frame that they would have it done even though they didnt know for sure how long it would take they made sure to have it done for me to go to work. They ended up fixing it and the price ended up being less than the original estimate which was such a relief. They did not do anything I didnt want and kept me in the loop before doing anything on my car. I really appreciate how professional they were and how great they were when I was so upset not knowing what was wrong with my car. They worked with me and I couldnt have asked for better service.. We all look for an honest mechanic that is going to get you out of the shop with as little damage to the pocket as possible. Monro does not seem to fit this crucial criteria. I got quoted not 2x not 3x but 4 times the money to get my car repaired here as my new (dependable and budget friendly) mechanic. Monro, I can understand some more overhead due to the size of your shop but this was insane. I can only imagine what they would do to a person who has no idea about costs or fixing cars. I will never step foot in this shop.

Great service. Car went in for a state inspection, the rear brake pads were Gonzo, they replaced them right there along with the rotors, they discovered both calipers had busted seals. They replaced those too. Only took and hour and a half. The mechanic noticed my ebrake was super loose on the test drive and tightened it after I had already payed. Also had enjoyable conversation with the fellas during the whole time. Will definitely be bringing the car back there for other services.

Solid place to get car service. I’m used to better quality customer service at the Merrimack location but this place gets the job done right and good prices for car maintenance. Am a repeat customer and will keep coming back.
