Phoenix is awesome. I own a 2002 Subaru Forester. To save money, I try to do as much of my own car repair work as possible with my limited knowledge and tools. Stuff that’s beyond my ability I take to Phoenix. A few years ago my starter began to fail. I researched how to replace it, bought a rebuilt starter at Autozone and then tried to remove my failing starter. The bolts securing the starter to the engine were frozen and I could not remove them. Worse, I stripped the head of one of them. I took my car to Phoenix and in 2 minutes they loosened the frozen bolts. They didn’t seek any payment say they didn’t mind doing me this one favor. But I insisted that I had to pay them something so they asked for $10. I drove my car home and successfully replaced the starter. Phoenix has also advised me on other car repair projects and their guidance and insights have,, so far, never been wrong. Thank you Phoenix.

Really great and quick service at a reasonable cost. I had to wait about a week and a half to get an appointment but they were done with everything within the day.

I really cant say enough about how great this place is, they are so helpful and knowledgeable. I dont know a lot about cars, but they take the time to actually show me what is going on with my car so I can understand what theyre talking about and know what to look for. They are all so friendly and prices are incredibly reasonable for the great work they do. My family has been coming here for many years and I would never go to another shop again at this point.

Very kind and efficient! We were picking up another car and the one we drove there had an alternator that went out right outside the shop. Even though they were about to close they made sure we could get home from there. Our second vehicle was fixed the next day at an affordable price. I would highly recommend Phoenix!

The best shop I have ever found to work on my Volvos. I have been to many independent mechanics all over the country, mainly in Volvo-dense college towns, and these guys perform such exceptional work and go so far above and beyond anything I have experienced elsewhere.

If you have a foreign car, this is your place for trustworthy, reliable, and reasonable service. Been going for two decades or so now, since before they were a “big time shop”.Not only never disappointed but always pleasantly surprised — “well, we noticed you had a thing so we tied that off and added a quart of whatever, no charge.” Clearly I’m not a car person, but I know great service when I experience it.

I own a 2007 SAAB, which means parts and knowledgable mechanics are hard to come by. I had an ignition crisis and the car was stuck. Bob at Phoenix was busy to the rafters and recommended some other places that I could possibly get the work done. I was brushed off by all; Bob said come in tomorrow. The guys fixed my car and were very clear about all of it. I have gone nowhere else since and all the work done has been excellent as well as reasonable. Last time I had the car in, Bob noticed a part on my seat that was hanging off. When I drove away it was in place (which I didnt realize until later) and I was grateful. Its a friendly, kind, professional, and happy group working at the top of their craft.

I look forward to bringing my Volvo here in the future (well, not to jinx myself!) When I was suggested to drop by for help putting a bulb in they were more than happy to assist me free of charge. The guys were super friendly too.

Decided to take my Hyundai Tucson here after reading all the great reviews. I was in and out of the shop within 30 minutes and my car was no longer grinding whenever I turned the steering wheel. Price seemed incredibly reasonable. They let me look underneath the car and they pointed out the problem spot. Everyone at the shop was friendly and helpful. The definition of an honest mechanic. I drive all the way from the east side just so I can get these guys to work on my vehicle. Excellent customer service. They never do anything or recommend anything that you dont need done. The work is always excellent and always comes with a fair price. They will give you knowledge and show you whats what under the hood. Without a question, as long as I own a foreign car, its coming here.

Ive been a customer for decades. They are kind and knowledgeable and they dont talk down to women. They aint bright and shiny. More of a down home local place. They care about your safety so lots of customers have their car checked out before a long trip. I like them so much I volunteer at the shop. We old guys cant all be Walmart greeters.

This is not a normal car repair experience. The crew at Phoenix are never looking for ways to maximize your bill. Rather, they are finding ways to fix your car within a reasonable budget. They really know their stuff, particularly with regard to certain foreign brands like Volvo. Above all that, the atmosphere is fascinating. There’s usually very interesting people around, like magicians, incipient politicians, and artists, so you never know what you’ll find there. The last time I had my oil changed, I purchased art prints from one of Phoenix’s customers. In short, this place is the perfect car repair shop for *Madison*.

Phoenix Foreign Car Services is the best mechanic Ive ever encountered, and is the only place I will ever take my Volvo S60 2.5T to be worked on! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. They will show you exactly what is wrong with your car and where, and their pricing is extremely reasonable. They installed upgraded parts on my car that I had ordered, did my timing belt and water pump for the cheapest price Id been quoted, and even did extra things that I didnt ask for, like changing the bulb on my license plate light and securing a loose piece of plastic on my bumper. These are great guys who go above and beyond the call of duty and dont overcharge. I would recommend this place to anyone who is searching for a good, solid, fair mechanic.

These guys are great, I would recommend them to anyone. Bob and Jake helped me out and made me feel like family from the moment I walked into their establishment. I contacted them asking for help looking over a vehicle before a purchase. Jake came with and test drove it, was very insightful with his concerns. Then we brought the vehicle back to the shop where they put it in the air and thoroughly inspected everything. Im really happy I did this as I almost purchased a vehicle that would have likely costed me a great deal so I had to pass on the purchase. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I am not sure I have every been to a place like Phoenix or to a mechanic like Bob. They have taken the time to get to know us and our Volvo which has need a lot of work in the past couple of years. Bob lets me know when he thinks a repair is within my abilities to try at home, what parts to buy, and any pointers to getting the job done. And when we do have them do the work, I can always trust it will be done correctly and at an affordable price. I am sure our wagon would have died a long time ago if it werent for Phoenix.

Ive been a customer of Harry and Bob (now just Bob) for twenty five years. They are the most honest and skilled mechanics I have ever met. More than once they have diagnosed a problem and fixed it in five minutes and sent me on my way. I took my truck in for a brake job, came back to get it and was told I didnt need one, there was just some debris stuck in my brake drum, and charged me $60 to clean and reassemble. Another mechanic would have replaced everything and charged me. This is not how they roll. Id give them six stars if I could.P.S. Dont go the dealer. Theyre more expensive and I dont trust any of them.

Look at the reviews, and think about it. Have you ever seen anything that twenty-three (now twenty-four) people on the internet all thought was perfect? As far as I can tell, the highest-rated movie on IMDB is the Godfather (9.2/10) and the highest-rated album seems to be Abbey Road (4.31/5).I could open a booth on State Street giving out free Spotted Cow and cheese curds, and theres no chance I would ever have a perfect five stars over twenty-three reviews (my free beer was too cold, Cheese curds were just average. Two stars, etc.). Then again, my customer service would be far below the care and attention Ive received from the guys at Phoenix.You would never know by looking at it, but I love my car. Ive driven the same Volvo S70 for about fourteen years, and its the only car Ive ever owned. Phoenix is undoubtedly the best shop its ever been in, and they may actually love that car more than I do. I dont know why youd ever go anywhere else. I live in Kenosha and just scheduled another appointment.
