My Y-pipe and resonator needed to be replaced. I got estimates from 3 different shops ranging from $1100-$1300. Speedy Muffler cut and welded instead and cost me only $712.

They are honest people. I took my 2003 Honda for an exhaust repair or possibly replacement. Another mechanic suggested replacement of the entire system at a cost of $1300. Speedy Muffler fixed the problem at $370 by replacing only the front pipe and two other pieces. And they did in an hour!I also asked them if I needed to get the brake pads replaced because they made a screeching sound. They looked at it at no cost and told me I didn’t need replacement. If they said I did, I would have no idea.

They really do live up to the Speedy part of the name. They got my stolen catalytic converter replaced so quickly that the bus transfer that I got for riding the bus home was still valid for me to ride the bus back to pick my car back up!I was hoping that the aftermarket converter that they got for me would have been a little bit cheaper, all told it and the O2 sensor and labor all cost me nearly $1500. But thats still a lot better than than the $2,500 that the dealership wanted from me!

These guys always take care of me. Having three kids with old cars means exhaust work. Speedy Muffler looks for ways to save me money. If its just the flex pipe, they tell me that. If the rest is going to go relatively soon, they give me straight talk what needs to be replaced and let me know that. I appreciate these guys.

2001 Toyota EchoBrakes suddenly grinding horribly called they said come right in got there after 12 a few hours before they close they had me out by 1:30 front breaks rotors done even included the delivery for parts in the time they did what they said price was fair they are professional thank you my car is running well.

Had a great experience today! Went in with my catalytic converter literally held up with wires. Really didnt want to sink money into my car by replacing the converter ($$$!), my car isnt worth it. So he gave me an alternate option which was much cheaper but just as effective. I was in an out within a half an hour without an appointment!

Couldn’t recommend Speedy Muffler more! Arriving around 10am and driving home 45 minutes later, they definitely live up to the speedy in their name. During that time they were able fix two other cars, diagnose my issue, take me under the car/show me the problem and replace the exhaust midpipe. What really sets them apart is they do good and fairly priced work as well! Friendly customer service as well.

I took my old 92 Dodge Dakota here to get a new muffler and brake pads. Turned out my problem was worse than I thought. They ended up replacing my brake pads, rotors, and a completely new exhaust system for less than $900. I had to pick it up the next day but that was only because I brought it in literally 2 minutes before closing time. Couldnt recommend this place enough.

I was extremely impressed with Speedy Muffler and Brake Center. My car began making a noise as I was leaving for a 200+ mile drive, so I called and stopped by. On a snowy Sunday, Steve took the time to diagnose the car and ensure everything was safe before I left. The service was incredible, and Steve is one-of-a-kind. Highly recommend to anyone!

Service was excellent. Joe took care of me right away and had car finished in 30 minutes. I was told I needed total exhaust replaced, costing $800-1200, and didnt want to spend a lot due to car being older. I was referred to Speedy and fixed the problem for quarter of cost. I highly recommend this shop, you cant go wrong. They know what theyre doing and not out to gouge, like other shops.

Overpriced! Please know an estimate cost of your parts before going there otherwise you may get ripped off. I had a broken exhaust pipe between the joint and the muffler. They quoted me $350 to replace the pipe and recommended another $300 to replace the muffler (total of $650). I went home and googled the parts and found out the pipe and muffler cost around $100-150 total! So i cancelled. The only good thing is that they accepted my cancellation, that is why I am giving them 2 star as opposed to 1. I took the car somewhere else and it cost me $280 (down from $650) to change the entire pipe and muffler (basically everything after catalytic converter)

I would recommend this business to anyone. I had to have my classic car towed into them because I tried doing the work myself and failed miserably! They installed new front pipes and mufflers. The gentlemen there are very professional and very knowledgeable! Very much appreciated Great Job!👍

The greatest car repair experience Ive had. I had to get a flex pipe replaced, and most dealerships wanted to replace the entire exhaust system. Speedy Muffler replaced they flex pipe AND a rusted gas can heat shield for over 10 times less than what the dealerships were quoting me. Convenient--I brought the car in on a Saturday at 1, and it was done by 3. The shop may not be fancy or have a waiting room, but they pass that saving on to the customer--which I would prefer anyway. Highly recommended.

Went in to get dual exhaust on my 05 Tahoe after exhaust pros said you cant put dual exhaust on this year truck. They had it done in an hour. The entire staff are very friendly and my Tahoe sounds AMAZING and it was very affordable as well

Didn’t have service done here but I’m sure they do quality work. This more for pricing. Needed a new flex pipe, the price quoted seemed a little high so I went and compared prices elsewhere. Found a shop 2 miles down the road that did it for 1/3 of the price they quoted. If they would have quoted me even half of what they originally did I would have done it right then and there. No point of paying 3 dollars for a mcchicken when I can get the same quality for paying 1 dollar

I just called ahead to Speedy and asked if I could get the rattle in my exhaust looked at today and they said they had an open bay and to come on in. I called my boyfriend to ask him to meet me there for a ride in case there was a long wait.Staff removed the rattling heat shield within minutes, free of charge. They asked how frequently I off-road over dry grass to which I replied never - so they said if Id like a new heat shield I could get one through the dealer, otherwise my rattle was gone. Free. And Speedy. Awesome!

Our car died coming into Madison & we took advice of dispatch to have it towed here & Had no idea what was wrong so left it there on a Sunday night, left a voice message & got a call Monday morn at 8am to tell me what was wrong, already ordered a part & would be finished in a couple hours. Will not be going here again. I Was taken under the car and shown the broken exhaust flange, and quoted $100 to cut and weld a small pipe piece back in. I asked to be shown the repair after it was done, and after 15 minutes I came out and the weld looked good, but the mechanic, Joe, had damaged my heat shield while trying to cut the pipe. He started to expIain that they arent even important, but I asked him to take $10-15 off because of this and he refused. It wasnt worth arguing, but I will not be coming back and will tell people to not go there either. It could have been my new go to place, but after him damaging my car and not making it right that wont be happening. The photo below is his repair job, and the damage he did.

Took my car in to have the brakes replaced because I could hear the indicators squeaking. They looked over the car and found a bracket that came loose and would rub on the rotor causing what I thought was the need for new brakes. Called to inform me that there was no charge for the minor fix. Went in with a muffler problem and was impressed! They didnt take advantage of my lack of car knowledge and only fixed the part of exhaust that was broken instead of trying to sell me a whole new exhaust like the dealership. They were quick and efficient and my loud car became alot quieter. I will definitely recommend and return with any further issues.

Had a loud exhaust leak near the engine crop up on my 07 Audi A4. Called Speedy at 9 AM, got there by 9:30, they had it diagnosed as a flex pipe issue by 10, fixed by 11 and out the door for $200. You can bet the house that Zimbrick would have charged $500 minimum. During the fix I walked a couple blocks over to the library and surfed the net in peace while I waited.Great price, fast repair, friendly service. No frills. Highly recommend!

I know cars, and I know car mechanics. Ive done CV joints, control arms, ball joints, interior, body work, e.t.c. I know when a mechanic is good or not. These guys are great. Great price, great service. If you are having exhaust problems, and you live in the Madison area, I strongly recommend them. I got a broken resonator pipe fixed for $65, another shop quoted me $175. Done in 15 minutes.

I was impressed by the honesty and candor of the men that I interacted with at the shop. They stuck to their estimate and even made a partial repair without charge that they didnt feel could be fully repaired on the decaying frame of my vehicle. I paid 300 for 2 steel brake lines front to rear and 50 for a bleed and refill of the brake fluid. I dont know a lot about cars, and I cant say for sure whether or not its a fair price relative to other shops, but I felt good about my experience at Speedy Muffler.

Highly recommend this place for exhaust work (likely brake work too but I didnt have brake work done). Stopped by another place closer to home this morning and they thought they could fit me in at 2pm but was sure they couldnt get parts today. So glad I drove over to east Madison. Stopped in without an appointment on Saturday morning and the technician at Speedys apologized that Id have to wait 10-15 minutes while he fixed another persons car. Less than 30 minutes from the time I handed over my keys, I had a new muffler installed and was out the door for a *very* reasonable price. GO HERE!!

A few years ago my car had a hole in the exhaust pipe that was causing lower gas mileage and bad exhaust noise. Some other places wanted 900+ USD to fix it. If I was still in Florida Id just take it to my friends place and weld on a fix myself but I had no access to such equipment here in Madison. I took it to Speedy and the gentleman working there was extremely helpful. Brought me into the shop as soon as he had the car on a lift, showed me exactly what was wrong, offered two fixes for it. ~450 to replace the entire exhaust system, or about 85 just to fix the broken part. He explained that the catalyzer was still good from his experience and that he recommended the 85 dollar fix. I went with that and its been years now. Still running fine. EIGHTY FIVE dollars. When everywhere else was quoting me over 900. Highly recommend Speedy. And in fact, Im planning on going there again soon for a friends car.

Came here on a Saturday Been coming here for years with my exhaust problems, Mechanic took me under the car I have a 1998 vehicle, He told me the whole exhaust system needed to be replaced resonator 02 pipes muffler, Then proceeded to tell me the cost would be $1300 for the Complete exhaust system more than the cars worth, I asked him what he could do he then came back with a price of $400, I was already there So I had them do it while I was in the waiting room I looked up the complete exhaust system for a 98 vehicle the price was a $160 for everything O 2 resonator muffler all pipes, 1I call the mechanic out on the price he got very squirmish, And change the subject and started to talk about his old vehicles that he Owns. Very disappointed They lost a long time customer, I asked him where they were getting their parts from a 3rd world country? Lesson learned do your homework before going there

Speedy worked on my sons 2000 Saturn last fall, charged me over $400.00 to repair the exhaust two weeks ago the exhaust falls apart and he loses the new muffler.Took it back today, they say the main exhaust pipe rusted out. They told me that pipe had not been replaced less than 6 months ago when I brought the car in to have the exhaust fixed. Today it cost another $411.00Im not real happy spending over $800.00 and not receiving any kind of a warranty. Told me they dont keep records from previous repairs.Not going back there!!!!!!!

I went in with a muffler that I had tried to install temporarily (it had fallen off by this point). I needed a piece of pipe built and bent and attached to the muffler. It was done in about 20 minutes total shop time and he charged $100. It seems a little pricey seeing as it only took him 20 minutes but it is a good repair, smooth bends, hangs in the right place and sounds awesome.

The staff was friendly. The work was fast and they got me in at the time the man on the phone had suggested I stop by. And the mechanic didnt push me to do the more expensive fix. All around Im happy.

Straight forward and reasonable mechanics. Quick work. I will be going to this shop in the future. Bottom line; clearly the guys know how to do business.

These people are great! I had a noisy muffler and they fixed the problem quickly (a rock was trapped against the muffler). No charge! I will certainly go back next time I have a muffler issue.

I checked their website, saw they were open till 6:00, and arrived at 4:45. They then informed me they were open until 5:00, and couldnt take a look at the car. I did mention that the website said 6:00, but I didnt even get a response or an apology. Its definitely not the biggest deal in the world that it happened, but businesses should strive to put out accurate information, and should apologize when they make a mistake. While by itself this isnt a reason not to try it out, I am skeptical of a business that cant even post its correct hours online. They also dont do appointments- I called ahead to see about one, and they just told me to come buy when they are open. A better customer service front would be appreciated. I may go back if I absolutely need to, but Im looking into more professional outfits first next time.

I had brought my car to another mechanic when I heard a rattling noise and was told that the bracket on my flex pipe had broken off and the whole pipe had to be replaced for $350. I called around to price out how much it would cost to get the flex pip replaced and Speedys was the cheapest on the east side of the places I called.I brought my car in at 9 am to Speedys. At 9:30am they called me to let me know that the pipe doesnt need to be replaced and they could bracket it to my car for $45. Sweet! Didnt know that was an option. Had the car back by 10:30am same day.They dont take appointments and its a small place, so go early.

I dropped by with my VW old model Jetta which had an exhaust problem with noise and exhaust fumes coming from beneath the car. The mechanic immediately pulled the car into the service bay and raised it on the lift. He showed me where the metal sleeve connecting two sections of the tail pipe had trusted out and broken. Although the muffler itself had rust on it too, he said there was no leak there, and he didnt try to sell me a new muffler, something I didnt need. He repaired the problem and I was on my way in about 20 minutes. They lived up to their name. I didnt even have time to read the sports page of the newspaper while waiting! Total bill was about $100. Excellent experience!

Aint kidding about the Speedy part. Showed up unannounced with an 89 dodge raider that had no muffler left. Installed a new muffler and bent up a tailpipe in 30 minutes.

My 99 ford taurus se had a loud exhaust noise coming just past the cat conv even tho there bays were filled with customers cars they got me right in even moved out one to accompanied to me i was treated with the upmost respect and courteousy they showed me what part was bad and 1/2 hour later i was down the road quieter. About $195 due to flex pipe is bad i checked auto part stores they cost more,they are prof and didnt sell me any unnecessary parts i didnt need,theyll get my business from now on thanks speedy muffler!!

I showed up as a walk-in right at 8:00am and had to get my exhaust fixed on my 2001 vw golf. There was only one guy there working and he promptly stopped working on the vehicle he had in the shop and immediately brought my car in and put it on the lift.Instead of charging me for a while new exhaust, he was honest and told me he could easily fix my car without having to replace everything. I know other exhaust shops might have tried to tell me a whole new exhaust was in order (upwards of $300+). Instead he fixed it for $80 and had me on my way to work in under 15 minutes. This place was awesome and the gentleman that fixed my car was very knowledgable (and had in fact worked on many other vws with the same problem I had). Highly recommended.
