My car broke down near Performance Motors and I got it to limp into the parking lot of the shop. The guy behind the counter (Mike) recognized the issue based on the sound of the engine. He provided an estimate assuming the issue but clarified he’d call if he was wrong once under the hood. They got my car fixed up and back to me the next day at the price he estimated. Fast, honest, good work.

Had a peculiar set of ailments preliminary tests did not explain. after 6 days, a wonderful coincidence occurred that shed light on the problem. not sure this wouldve been the case with another team of mechanics. granted, I was especially happy it was not either of two far more costly problems, but I do think Ive finally found the best mechanics for my Mini, which any Mini owner would understand is downright critical for continued ownership. SO relieved I took up a friends recommendation and went to this shop. now I understand what he meant by, you need to talk to Mike.

Peter Sowl and his mechanics have been dependable and reasonable for their service and repair work. In two incidences of being stranded, Peter helped get our cars back to his shop for repair work which was much appreciated.

I went to Performance Motors (PM) for a pre-purchase inspection on a used vehicle that I found at a dealer just around the corner from PMs garage. I believe it was Mark who I spoke with at PM after the inspection and he was very knowledgeable about the BMW I was purchasing. The inspection was extremely thorough and made me feel confident making the purchase and negotiating with the dealer for some minor repairs needed before finalizing my deal. If I didnt live so far away I would definitely bring my BMW back here to be serviced. Dont go anywhere else in the area if you have a BMW or other European brand, PM is the true expert.

This shop was recommended to me by Edmonds Automotive, an excellent neighborhood shop that I use and trust. They spoke highly of Performance Motors and said that my Mercedes would be well cared for there. They were right. Very professional, clean and organized shop. My car was in and out in a very short period of time, and I believe that I spent much less money with them than I would have at the Mercedes dealer. They will see me again when I have a need.

Very professional, knowledgeable, and fast. Dropped off our VW Golf that was overheating. They replaced the timing belt, water pump, and a few other things and it was a bit on the pricey side but the car is now fixed and drives with ZERO problems. This takes a huge burden off our shoulders because of we didn’t know for sure if our car problems were ever going to end and ever since we took a chance and took our car to Performance Motors, it’s been a dream to have the freedom and ability to drive our car problem free....once again. I recommend anyone with an European car to check this place out. It’s not a bargain mechanic kind of a place and this is apparent when you first pull up to the place...there were a ton of really nice cars including a really nice older vehicle that looked like a classic parked out in the front. Mike helped us out, I believe he is the manager of this location. Oh and Another tip for those of you who are considering dropping off your car here...they only take payments over the phone if the bill is less than $400. It’s for security purposes and it’s a part of their policy. I understand that and find that reasonable. Our bill was well over $400 and so we could not pay over the phone and had to come in and pay in person. Paying in person was a breeze, it took less than 5 minutes to pay for the repairs and be on my way. After I paid for the repairs (right at closing time) Mike, the manager was kind enough to drive the car out to the street for me so that it wouldn’t get locked in behind the gate that they use at closing to secure their perimeters. My husband was still at work and he picked up his car afterwards but that was nice because I don’t know how to drive a manual and Mike didn’t really have to do that for me but he did. Thanks again Performance Motors!

Ive been taking my cars to Performance for almost four years. I highly recommend them to anyone with a German car. Honest, reasonable and reliable service. They are the best around. No they arent cheap, you bought a German car....its expensive to fix. They do the best work and make it right if they make a mistake.

Took my 2012 Mini after the dealership quoted repairs worth 3 to 4k worth for a car that is little over 5k in market value. Spoke to a lot of mechanics over the phone and decided to bring the car to performance motors. They were able to isolate the problem to one specific part that was worth 500$ for parts and service.. Havent had an issues after that. Saved me thousands of bucks. Highly recommend !

Had the guys do my routine maintenance on my e320 cdi. I had recently done the brakes myself and am a very amateur mechanic myself, so I asked them to look over it. The guys said I did a good job with a few pointers. I had asked them about a popping noise from the steering, they told me what was wrong and that if I did the brakes I could easily replace the bearing myself. Really cool too have a mechanic with integrity and honesty

Ive been coming to Performance Motors for over 1.5 years now. Ive had a Mercedes R350 brought in for not only regular servicing but also for more serious issues which other places could not fix for well over 2 years. One example was a persistent rattling Ive had in the exhaust system and a couple of other places had told me its a catalytic converter that needed replacing which could cost well over $400. Pete looked at it and found it was a $50 shield and fixed right away. I also bring the BMW X3 here now that dealer servicing is overly expensive and Performance Motors rates are much more reasonable.

Bought a used BMW last night. owner hid quite a few things and theres a lot going on electrically. i called around a bit and the shops were very blase. Now i realize that its very hard to give information over the phone. But everyone was a week out to even look at the car. Mike over at performance motors was different. friendly and helpful. got me in today on my lunch break just to take a look. was able to plug it in and run reports on the codes and history (which he gave me copies of for free!) was super knowledgeable about the make model and history of the car. and generally made me feel a little better about my impulse purchase.i scheduled a full diagnostic session (at a rate far superior to the other shops i contacted) and they are going to be handling the service repair work. I couldnt be happier with the current customer service and experience i had. Ill update after the repairs far complete but so far I am completely impressed.

I have taken all of my cars (classic and mainstream) to Pete and the crew at Performance for many years. I have found them very consistent - thorough, fair and adept at getting things done - right - the first time, on time and under estimated costs. Pete and Mike are very forthright and honest with their work, I never have the slightest doubt that if they assess that work is necessary, it is with good reason. This trip was for a 180K mile major service - and major it was too... also done properly, on time and under first estimate (and well below dealership charges). My only problem is that my van will be running so well for so long, these guys grandkids are going to be old and they will still be keeping the maintenance up to snuff...

Asked for a last minute prepurchase inspection of a used vehicle and they were able to fit me in. Dealer dropped off vehicle and Mike called to let me know his first impressions before he did a full inspection and before he charged me. I can not suggest this shop enough! They are so kind and so honest and they always take care of me when I bring my car in. Please avoid the STEALERSHIPS and go here. My car comes out in better shape everytime and I always feel more confident about it. They first fixed my coolant tank that got old and broke apart. They then fixed my exhaust that ended up being dented by those construction roads. They even tightened my bumper and made it more secure! I won’t take my car anywhere else!

Mike, Pete and crew go that extra step. Oil change is slightly more expensive than other places, however the small things they catch BEFORE they become a problem is totally worth it. Brake light came on, put car in for all 4 corners; they suggested I not replace the fronts as they were in good shape. Never any high pressure to buy this or that, only suggestions and options - perfect.

Had an emission part that needed to be replaced on my wifes Jag. I was planning to replace the part myself until I found I needed a lift to do the job. The shop was real easy to work with and was able to work with the part I had already purchased and just charge me for shop labor. Highly recommended.

Called up to ask if they were certified to work on Smart cars - simple question right. The person that answered the phone was very rude saying my car was a piece of junk and wished Smart cars would all go back to France... Strike 1, 2, and 3 all in a single moment. I have no interest in working with anyone that places such low value on customer service... a simple no, were not certified to work on Smart cars would have been acceptable, but out of the blue just started slamming me and my baby... if you dont care about customer service, or being crapped on, this might be the place for you.

I shouldve done this review almost six months ago, but these guys are definitely worth the 5 stars. My car overheated on I-5, so I looked around for mechanics that would take my car. Most of them were too busy, but these guys took my car in and got it repaired the next day as soon as the parts arrived at a fair price. I would recommend this shop to any Euro car owner.

Why can t all mechanics treat people this way.On a side note, I found them by asking them about replacing a headlight, that I already purchased from an auto parts store. When I called the german motors on HWY 99 they quoted me $280 for just LABOR! Mike said stop by and we will place it for FREE.Absolutely an honest guy, you wont go wrong for repair and maintenance

This is a amazing car repair place

Initial impression was good. Seemed knowledgeable and helpful. Take my car in for what turned out to be a boost valve that blew. They were quick to diagnose and I opted to get a new battery and oil change along with the new valve because I like supporting small businesses when they do things well. When I get my car back, the iDrive controller/scroll wheel is no longer working. I used the wheel to navigate to the shop when I first took it in, so Im 100% certain it was functioning.I call them and Im told to come down right away and they would take a look. Perfect, theyll correct whatever error was made and I can get back to enjoying my car. When I arrive they take a brief look, then tell me the controller is bad, and to diagnose if I need another one I can pay for a diagnoses and if it confirms that the controller is bad, Id have to pay over 600$ more, despite just paying them 1000$ for my repairs. They say that because they werent working on that part of the car, its not their fault. I get that mistakes happen and they offered to only charge me 50$ for the diagnoses but Im livid that they cant just own up to something theyve caused (intentional or not) and work toward a resolution.Going to take this to a dealership from here on out. Id rather pay for service that will be guaranteed by a company then attempt to be nickel and dimed to the tune of hundreds of dollars. I thought I had found a place to call my regular mechanic for my first luxury car, Im sad to say I havent and have come away from the experience quite angry.

These guys are very thorough and professional, take there time and make the process easier for there customers. Mike and the techs that work there are always willing to figure out the problem and simply tell you how it is, even if it feels like a gut check.

Beware, they were upset I was going to wait for my car. it seems they dont like the customer knowing how long it took to do the work. Then they claimed another part was broken( I thoroughly checked it)but that was untrue. They completed the work and when I got in my car to drive away a major warning light illuminated on the dash. I was told they dont know anything and wouldnt assume any responsibility.

Took a 2008 BMW 328xi wagon to Performance Motors for a pre-purchase inspection, mostly because of good prior reviews and proximity to the dealership. They were *extremely* thorough and provided detailed documentation, including checking every single function I could imagine (e.g. they caught that the AM/FM button didnt actually switch to AM...not something Id even considered). They pulled the oil filter to check for condition, did a thorough test drive, were courteous, on time, and price was as promised. Id certainly use the again; their reasonably priced inspection saved me thousands of dollars in future maintenance.

These guys have bailed us out multiple times on a variety of cars, bmw, Audi and Range Rover. They are quick, responsive, honest and very reasonable.

If youre looking for a high-quality mechanic for your Volkswagen (or any other European car judging by the other reviews), look no further than these guys! Brought my 07 VW GTI in to have the timing belt replaced after calling ahead to schedule. Dropped it off around 8AM, Mike told me itd be done the same day, and sure enough, come 4:30PM I get a call saying my car is ready! While I was there we got to talking a bit, and it turns out hes a GTI man himself and owns an 88 MK2!As for the quality of the replacement itself, it came out to pretty much exactly what was quoted and Ive had absolutely no troubles with squeaking or rough engine running, so it would seem the job was done right! Many thanks to the team for doing good work!
