Thankfully they were able to get my iPad back to the sign in screen but I still have to try to find out what screen name and password I used back when I first bought this iPad > somewhere around 2009🤔. Im 67 pushing 68 now and Im lucky I still remember my own name.

Quality work, but incredibly slow. Whenever they decide to get the job done, it is done well. Both computers (MacBook Pro and Mac Mini) that I brought in for repairs took two weeks longer than they said it would, but they did work fine after that. Only one staff member there seemed like she cared about me, the rest were rather fake and self-centered.Summary: if you dont mind the wait, trust this place to get the job done well, whenever the engineer decides to work.

Do not go here! The guy is a complete flop and claims he fixes a problem and ends up making your computer 100 times worse!!! I brought my computer in took them 3 weeks I told them to completely factory reset my computer didnt do it and said they couldnt! Save your money go somewhere with more experience !

I added an extra star to this review that would be a 1-star because at least the receptionist I spoke to was friendly. Long story short, be wary if you come here with your Apple products. My issue was specific and covered under a special Apple warranty program. Maybe this was a fluke incident, but I did not appreciate the attempt of LCS to have me pay for a different repair that was unnecessary and unrelated to the actual problem. It gave me the impression that they were trying to take advantage of me knowing that the closest official Apple store is in Richmond.My Macbook Pro had an issue that was covered under an Apple extended warranty (13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program). I brought it to LCS because they are the closest Apple affiliate in our area, and it was my impression that it would be sent off directly to Apple once LCS determined that the laptop did indeed qualify under the warranty. After I dropped it off, this is where the problem started: I received first a phone call, and then an email detailing that yes, the laptop qualified for the free fix through Apple, but because there was a small dent in the lid, they would need to charge me total $600+ for a screen replacement, labor, and tax BEFORE they could send it to Apple. If you are familiar with Apple products, you know with that estimate I might as well buy a brand new laptop. I said absolutely not, picked up the Macbook, and proceeded to call Apple service directly. Apple then mailed me a box to ship my Macbook directly to them to be serviced. Apple fixed the backlight issue and the cosmetic dent (ALL FOR FREE under the backlight service program) in less than a week. From now on I will go to Apple directly for any repairs, and not go through LCS.

Lynchburg Computer Systems is amazing! I took my computer there in the mid morning, and it was ready to be picked up several hours before close the same day. Walked into the store and immediately saw a group of friendly staff members. Instead of rushing me of out the door and having me leave my laptop overnight without looking at it first, the manager took it into the back. He came back in less than 10 minutes & it was FIXED. I had previously taken this same laptop to Best Buy who recommended I go here with my apple MacBook. Very thankful as I am a Liberty Nursing student who needs her laptop. Certainly recommend this store!!

Excellent customer service, and they gave me a great deal! I had an exploded batter cell in my MacBook Pro that was inhibiting my use of the track pad and warping the casing. I brought it in and they fixed it while I waited, gave me a great deal on the replacement battery, and fixed some hard drive issues for me at no extra cost, along with giving me some solid maintenance advice. Will definitely give them my business again.

I recently spilled coffee in my PC and thought I knew exactly what the problem was and I was going to fix it myself. I decided to get a second opinion from Lynchburg Computer Systems. I brought my gaming desktop computer into LCS and Mike spent about 45 minutes working on it. He ended up resolving the issue and I was on my way all in under an hours time. Went there last year and had a not so great experience. I went there because the hard drive cable needed to be replaced. They then told me that my hard drive also needed to be replaced, which would have cost over $100. I took this to another place and they said that LCS was incorrect in this diagnosis, and then got my computer up and running and helped me save at lease $100. Don’t go here, because they obviously don’t know how to correctly diagnose a computer.

Being apart of the IT industry for 10+ years I normally dont need much help getting stuff repaired, but when I have LCS has always been there. They are one of the few who can do board level repairs and have the capability to do advance data recovery. Highly recommend.

I took my computer here to get my charging port fixed. The price they quoted was extremely expensive but I went ahead and had it fixed. It took about five weeks for my computer to be fixed but it charged fine after that. A couple months later my dog knocked my computer off the table and I had to get my screen fixed and I once again took my computer here. It took a month for it to be fixed and when it came back, the charging port was once again broken. I mentioned this to the woman there and how it had previously been fixed by them but she all but washed her hands of it. I am not happy with the customer service or the fact that my computer returned broken when they had previously fixed it.

I dropped off my Mac on Thursday afternoon and when I called on Monday they hadnt even looked at it yet. The guy who answered the phone sounded like he couldnt care less about me or my experience there and just kind of huffed and said ok well well call you when its done. So I get a call Tuesday afternoon telling my that my computers fixed and ready to be picked up. So I pick it up and bring it home, go to log in and what do you know! It still has the same issue I brought it in for. I called them and the same guy answered and again couldnt care less. I told him they never fixed my issue and he said wow, you should probably bring it back. They must hire the cream of the crop here. So I asked if it started at the shop and he said I assume so. I would be embarrassed if I were the owner of Lynchburg Computer Systems. This review will change if my customer experience does.

I needed my Mac air fixed, and I came in here May 2nd to get it repaired I let them know that I was heading out of town may 12th and they explained that it would be no problem getting it fixed in time.They called back a day later stating I would need a new logic board. A week later I called checking on my laptop where they prompted to tell me that they had received a bad part and were waiting on a new one. A few days later, now over a week since I first came in I called back and they told me that now I would need my whole battery replaced as well. The total cost would now be almost equivalent to the cost of a brand new Mac air. I was suppose to head out of town soon so I asked if it would be done and they said as long as the part came in.May 14th I called and told me they received the part and would have it done by the evening or early the following day. Now May 15th almost two weeks after I came in and 3 days after they assured me it would be done, I called asking about it and was told that the person who fixed it was “out of the office” and that they weren’t sure when he would be back. Then another person told me that the system was down. I was late for my trip out of town and it was already after 1pm the next day so I came in to wait for it, but they told me that the person had taken it to “run a test” and he wouldn’t be back from wherever he was with my laptop for at least another 30 minutes.They offered no accomidations and blamed everything that went wrong on the Apple company. I would highly suggest going to a better place around town for a laptop repair.

I really enjoyed my experience at LCS today! What a warm, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff!! Thelma spoke with me by phone and encouraged me to come on in just a little before they were closing and met me with a smile along with Rick who immediately knew what the issue was with my MAC that I desperately needed to get back working. Needless to say, I left with a working pc, a pen and a cute little back scratcher tool. LoL!! If you are having Apple issues this is the place to be. Btw...Geek Squad sent me over :)

Yesterday I dropped my MacBook Pro off to have a new upgraded hard drive installed at the store. I was given a price for the labor and the upgraded hard drive I wanted, I agreed to the price, I paid that price and received a receipt which clearly stated how much I paid and which hard drive I was going to have installed. Today I received a call from the store telling me that there had been a mistake and the hard drive that I wanted was actually about $300 more than what I had already paid. I asked the lady on the phone how this mistake took place and she said their technician had not looked at my computer but the owner had given her the price for the hard drive and that he had been wrong about which hard drive my laptop needed. Today I went into the store to pick up my computer, I got a refund and let the lady know that I will not bring any more products into the store. Most retailers will honor mistakes they make in pricing but its extremely unprofessional to call a customer back after they have already paid in full the agreed upon price and tell them they owe you more money. I also have the original receipt and a voice message that is transcribed from the store to prove I am not making this up. While the owner did call me back and apologize, he did not provide a resolution to the situation. I will be driving to Richmond next time for my MacBook issues.

I truly hate writing poor reviews, I think theres usually a solid explanation for everything and my husband and I are pro small businesses, but our experience with LCS was awful. My husband had a short in his screen which would cause it to go black so we took it to LCS. They told us it wouldnt be a problem, my husband gave them permission to order the part and they said it would be fixed in a week. 2 1/2 weeks later we finally get his laptop back after calling for updates and trying to get it fixed. When we get it it looked awful! There is adhesive all along the tops and sides of the screen and the screen isnt even set properly back into the laptop. Also they reset his computer so he was missing all of his old files and pictures (which wasnt an issue prior) we ended up having to take it to Libertys IT department and luckily someone there was able to get our files back. Also they removed Microsoft word, excel, etc which we had previously been subscribed to. Needless to say we were very disappointed and it was a waste of $150+.

Took my laptop there to install a new hard drive without losing data. I live about an hour away and while it was difficult to come back, I left the computer and came back 2 days later to pick it up. Fair in price and they did some things to the computer to make it work better.My computer wont allow the new Windows Update to finish. Took a special trip in to see what I could do...wouldnt even try to help...I had to leave it for three or four days for them to look at to see what the problem was. VERY curt and acted like they did not want my business. I have to clear out my hard drive to start all over again because of the software they put in to help. It probably was an easy fix, but dont expect outpatient services. Your computer has to be admitted for a few days.

I believe my computers security was compromised while at LCS. I spilled coffee on my Macbook and dropped it off Monday morning. LCS said it needed a new screen and that would cost $600 + $90 labor. Expensive, but I know Mac stuff can be costly. I chose not to have the repair and picked it up Tuesday afternoon—so it was at the shop for about 28 or so hours total. At 7pm Tuesday evening, some hacker used my eBay/Paypal account to fraudulently purchase a $550 gun accessory on eBay, and attempted to make a $2300 purchase as well. A few minutes later my email started being utterly flooded with hundreds and hundreds of spam/phishing emails—that lasted hours. I have never had any security/hacking problems whatsoever until the one day I happen to leave my laptop at the shop. Is it possible this was just a coincidence? Yes, but that certainly does not seem very likely to me. Furthermore, it turns out that my laptop screen works perfectly fine and did not need a $690 repair job at all. Overall, I am incredibly dissatisfied with my experience and I cannot trust this shop.

If your Macbook Pro from 2011 to 2013 (15 inch or 17 inch models) is experiencing problems with booting up, especially if the bootup screen is a strange color, or has horizontal lines on it, take it here before February 2016 and they will fix it for free in about a week. Apple has an extended warranty on computers with this problem. LCS fixed my laptop in 6 or 7 days, counting the weekend. They did it for free and my laptop works great!

Probably the worst business I have ever had to give money to. Originally went in for them to change the battery, they said it would take 3 days since I already had the battery, took them over two weeks. Got it back and it was put together wrong where the back cover was bent and dented in places, and space between the cover and the main part of the laptop, because of that it ended up cracking the screen and now my touch screen is completely broken. When I brought it back to them they said that none of it could possibly be their fault and theres nothing they could do. in conclusion terrible quality of work, expensive, and wont own up to their own problems.
