I am very happy with the service I received from Mechanics Direct. It was also great to have an Acura NSX specialist within a few hours of where I live. Communication was great and explanations were clear. Im pretty happy with the results for my relatively large service they completed including disassembling the transmission.

We have been taking our cars to Mechanics Direct for over 20 years. Mitchell, the owner, is extremely honest and competent and he has trained his staff to give the exact same service. He will tell you, you don’t need something done right away, he always does his best to keep the price down. He has even given us loaner cars, hooked us up with a rental, gotten us inspection stickers and windshields, etc. They always go above and beyond and do a great job.

This place is wonderful! Not only was I able to drop off my car quickly, they gave me a free loaner car so that I could continue my day as I needed. Their customer service is wonderful, the diagnostic was free and repairs were quick but done well. I greatly appreciated the fact that they walk through all the problems your car has with you, accompanied by pictures and videos of what theyre talking about. The icing on the cake was that I was able to bring a list of repairs that my dealership said I needed. Apparently, all the repairs the dealership said I needed were false. This places saved me over $2000. For the repairs I actually needed, Mechanics Direct gave me more than fair prices. In general, I cant say enough positive things about my experience here. Ill definitely be going back if my car has any issues.

Asked what the cost for pads and rotors on a MB S 550..told could not give me a price. They stated lots of other issues might be on going and couldnt get a price for me. Asked about their loaner program. The answer was a joke.I have owned varies businesses for the past 35 years. If I ever treated a potential customer or one of my employees treated a customer thar way, I would be out of business... Brutal customer engagement....

I sent my car in when it stopped driving. I chose mechanics direct because I heard they were a cheaper / better option than BMW which the car was just at before I sent it there.BMW told me that I had to fix an oil leak and update the computer to fix it ($1100)Mechanics direct had my car for over a week and the verdict was that I needed a NEW ENGINE that from the factory would have been $20k!!!!!!!!!A used one for $8900!!!!!!I fixed the oil leak for $88BMW is updating the computer for $249I have to imagine there are a lot of sorry people sending their cars here..,The icing on the cake... they charged me over $300 just to look at the car!!! That is triple what BMW charges. ($119)Save yourself $20k and just go to the dealer!

They were great! I had taken my car to a dealership 5 times over several months which cost about $850 with no resolution to the problem and was told to just invest in a new car. At mechanics direct, they were able to identify the problem quickly to get it fixed with a few extras like changing out the battery on my key. They were great. Highly recommended.

The team here is absolutely STELLAR! I brought my car in to get my head lightbulb replaced and the 3 Ms (Matt, Mitchell, and Mark) were so kind and helpful. It can be hard finding places that wont take advantage of you, by trying over charge for services (especially since Im a young woman). They were so honest and upfront about the cost of the work that needed to be done. They went above and beyond, and I will be coming back for future services and repair for my car

I actually didnt do much service there but still have some impression about them since it was my first time there. At first when I made an appointment I told them that I will be waiting for a car, but on the day of the appointment they offered me to come back by lunchtime and when I told them that I dont have a car to drive It looked like they made me a favor by saying: Let me see if I can find a mechanic to look on your car ))) But they found somebody to look on it. This, not a problem. As another note I asked for diagnostic and two tires balancing. I spent there around 1.5 hours and paid 180 $. Let calculate : 2 tires balancing - 2*30$=60$. And this price is higher than in other shops. I have left 120$. This is for 1-hour diagnostic. Im sorry, but this is a dealership price. Acura estimated diagnostic as 120$.At the honest side: they were able to diagnose the problem correctly.What is bad: balancing weights were attached to the rim without even cleaning space where they were attached. The steering wheel was smelling with oil.Will i recommend them?? Probably yes, but with research prices and reviews on other local stores. And be sure to ask them about the estimated price of the job you want to be done.

I am not a longtime Lowell resident, so this was my first time as an MD customer. Had an incident elsewhere, so I simply decided to have the car towed to a location closest to home. Sending it to MD ended up being a great decision. While I wasn’t prepared to spend this kind of $$ after just buying the car the week prior, Matt went out of his way to provide me with options and to assist me with a sensible solution.It was a Monday and I mentioned to Matt I had to be to work at a certain time, and he called in a rental car at no cost to me. Ultimately, the work ended up being done in time (and done well), so the rental wasn’t needed. But, this was a very positive first-time experience.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take your Prius to them. I had issues with the fan of my hybrid battery but I did not know it was that until I brought it to Sullivan Brothers in Kingston. Mechanics Direct had my car for a whole day and charged me hundreds of dollars just to tell me they couldnt figure out what was wrong. They said they had experienced mechanics to work with Prius cars, but clearly not. Im lucky my hybrid battery is not damaged at all.

I have been using Mechanics Direct for over ten years and am always satisfied with the service provided. Mitch is honest and his prices are fair. Unlike at other places, when Mechanics Direct fixes your car it is done right the first time. I have used other mechanics where they fix your car and then a week later some other related part breaks. Everyone always hears horror stories about mechanic, getting ripped off or getting unnecessary work done. I have only gotten work done at my car at the dealership. After a number of years of having my Lexus LX470 maintained by the dealer I searched for a less expensive alternative. I interviewed a number of shops that were Lexus qualified and based on the interviews I decided that the Mechanics Direct would be my best choice.Their mechanic training certificates indicated proper training, the front office staff seemed knowledgeable and able to relate to not-so-mechanically-inclined customers. The company appeared to be well organized and efficiently run and should be able to provide support well into the future. Mitchell (owner) was friendly and seemed down to earth. I asked if he could help me drive my car to 200,000 miles and he thought he could. I felt that this was the best shop I had evaluated and decided to become a customer.The first issue needing attention was to repair the air conditioning system. An inspection revealed that some of the coolant lines had corroded and needed replacement. Mitchell outlined several repair options estimating the cost of each. The highest was replacing all lines with the factory assembly. A lower cost solution would be to replace individual failed lines with off-the-shelf parts. I chose this option and the A/C is still well running today.During the past years Mechanics Direct has performed many repairs and has always consulted with me outlining options which would help lower costs while still providing safe sound repairs. To date the car has travelled a total of 221400 miles, pretty doggone good for a 2001 auto.Mechanics Direct will also provide a loaner vehicle if my vehicle needs to be held for repairs.I feel that their customer service is top-notch, their mechanics are knowledgeable and do good work, and since 2010 Mechanics Direct has provided me with great service at reasonable cost.

Nice people for sure, but dont bring them your screen for repair! I brought computer screen in to be fixed. Paid 1500 and it wasnt completely fixed. Their work triggered the engine lights.... Had to pay dealer to fix their work.

I’ve had a few tricky repairs that needed to be done on my truck and they were able to fix them within the day. Mechanics Direct should be your first, and last stop if you are in the market for a new used vehicle. They found us a gently used 2015 Toyota Rav 4 with only 2800 miles, for thousands less than we would have paid at a dealership. The entire process was super easy.

What I like about Mechanics Direct is they have been spot on and accurate on what the issues are with my cars. Recently I had an older SUV serviced, and Mitch was adamant about the safety of my vehicle, and didnt want to see me driving off with it knowing its unsafe. Although money is tight, I did repair it. I know now that I can drive the vehicle this winter and not worry. All staff are respectful, courteous, and the turnaround of getting my car fixed was extremely fast. What I have learned about Mitch is if the vehicle is worth fixing, youre better off repairing it rather than going into debt buying a brand new car. Although I would rather have a brand new car because of new safety features and fuel efficiency, I truly do not want another car loan. I would recommend others to try Mechanics Direct.

My vehicle felt like it was stalling, and actually stopped running. I was 7 hrs away from home, and I wanted to be sure it worked properly for the drive home. I was traveling with my family. They looked over everything, found the problem, but then discovered a long winding noise. They informed of the problem, told me the cost and asked before performing the job. They fixed everything and made me feel safe driving back home.

I have been using Mechanics Direct for 20 years on my 1992 Lexus Sport Coupe. At Mechanics Direct not only have they kept my car running great but fixed 2 major problems which if it wasnt for them I would no longer been able to keep the car on the road. They really pulled through. Before I started using them I really could not fix many of the problems including yearly maintenance because the Lexus dealer prices were prohibited. We recently took our 2012 CRV to Mechanics Direct for the first time and had a great experience! Our CRV was having a heat issue and after taking it to the local dealership with unsatisfactory results, we found MD through a Google Search. MD conducted the tests needed to determine that this was, unfortunately, a heater core issue and the part would need to be replaced. The gentlemen at the front desk (Matt? Im the worst with names.), made sure to inform me at each step what we can do next and the likeliness of it being a worst case scenario situation. To get to the HC involves removing almost every piece of the interior from the front seats forward (minus the seats themselves) and MD was able to to get the whole car apart, replace the part, and back together in a day! This was an extremely labor intensive job and putting everything back together took skill to ensure everything would work again. MD took the time to properly do the work and made sure that we would be satisfied with the final fix. Thank you!
