I had the best experience! I ended up showing up a day early thinking it was my appointment time (oops) and LT was so incredibly sweet and let us look around and try things on before her next appointment. LT had so much insight on the bridal industry and helped me think through every little detail. I loved that she absolutely loves her job and helping Brides find their dream dress! Its also great that Modern Trousseau does custom gowns! You can make it completely your own design. I cant say more positive things about my experience overall and with the help of LT. I had such a wonderful experience shopping here with LT guiding me through all the options. I never imagined that I could find 2-3 dresses with things I liked about them and turn them into a single masterpiece! The dresses are made with high-end fabrics, the craftsmanship is superb, and since they’re made here in the states I could order one and get my custom dress quicker than 90% of the other bridal shops. If they sold other dresses I’d definitely shop here again, but since it’s for a wedding dress I hope I never need to. I highly recommend!!!

I found my dream dress in Modern Trousseau in Louisville. I have been to many bridal dress places, I would say MT in Louisville was the best in terms of dress design, quality, store environment and the service. I fell in love with every single dress i tried there. The dresses were sooo beautiful. It was difficult for me to pick my favorite at the end. LT was so sweet and very professional. She knows her dresses. She was very helpful from the beginning to the end. The store was beautiful, clean and bright. They only take one bride at a time, so we had the whole store to ourselves. I loved my experience there and i would recommend it to my friends.

I loved every part of my experience here, especially LT. She listened to my thoughts, answered my questions, and was a constant professional (she was the only one in all of my appts that brought me aside to discuss budget privately). Their approach is for complete customization which I really appreciate with my body shape. They can do anything and the dress will literally be made just for you! They dont order sizes but your measurements. The boutique was lovely and with current conditions, it was comfortable as we were the only clients in the shop. I highly recommend working with them.

I had such a great experience at Modern Trousseau! I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted and told LT. I tried several dresses, but the one I LOVED was the one LT chose and encouraged me to try on. She truly has a gift :)

Buyer beware. I was initially planning to leave a glowing review like the other reviews left here. I will start by saying that like the other reviews state, LT, the manager at the Louisville store is amazing. She is a true professional and pleasure to work with. Because of her, my mother and I, up until yesterday, had had an amazing experience at MT. That all changed yesterday when I arrived to see my truly 100% custom gown for the first time. Not because of LT, but because of the owner of Modern Trousseau. My gown, a fully custom gown, arrived too large. This would have been fine, even accounting for the fact that the contract states the gown would be made to my measurements, it was represented to me by the company that the gown would be made to my measurements, and as you can see by previous reviews gowns typically are made to measurement. Because the gown was so large, LT remeasured me to confirm that it was not due to me losing weight (my measurements for the gown were taken 4 weeks ago) or due to a mistake on her end. As expected, the measurements submitted were the correct measurements. I had lost no weight and LT had made no mistakes in submitting the proper measurements. The mistake was made in Connecticut by the MT team. LT immediately called Connecticut. LT explained that Connecticut said that if the dress was too large to send it back and they would fix it. We left the store slightly disappointed that my dress was going to have to be shipped back to CT for alterations. While I was concerned that the alterations may alter some design features of the dress (I am not a seamstress, but I expressed these concerns to LT) I left having trust in the company that no matter what they would make it right. I was reassured that this was the case. However, several hours later I received a call from LT explaining that the owners were refusing to allow my dress to be sent back until the remaining 50% deposit was paid. Why would I pay the remaining 50% before I received a finished product? This dress was going to be shipped back to CT due to their mistake, not mine. What if the dress was lost in transit or damaged in transit? LT graciously offered to have one of the owners call me. This is where this bizarre experience escalated into something frankly unimaginable. The male owner of the husband and wife team belligerently explained to me that no matter what, I was “on the hook” and I had two options, either pay for the dress and take it as is or pay for the dress, have it sent back, and if I didn’t play nice he would tell his “seamstresses to sit on their hands” with my dress. He told me that the reason the dress was too large is he was instructing his team to make dresses 1.5 inches larger due to Covid and brides gaining weight during that time (lol). Aside from the ignorance of assuming that women are all going to gain that significant of weight because of Covid, this assertion is ridiculous. They began making my dress within a week of my measurements being submitted and as you can see from the below comments not all dresses are arriving too large. The fact that the owner thought it was appropriate to threaten me with his “seamstresses sitting on their hands” with my dress is beyond the pale. All that he had to do was allow my dress to be shipped back, fix their mistake, send the dress back to Louisville, and I would have been eagerly awaiting the dress and paying the remaining 50%. His vile behavior tainted a beautiful experience that my precious mother and I had hoped to experience surrounding my dress. He took a moment that was supposed to be beautiful and memorable and tainted it so severely. I would suggest anyone avoid this company. Beware.

I had a great experience working with LT to find the perfect dress! LT was extremely helpful, thoughtful, encouraging, stylish and fun to be around! She was kind, communicative and sensitive while my fiancé and I navigated our wedding plans through COVID. Very grateful to have her support and encouragement.... and an amazing dress!

I bought my dress from another MT, and they worked things out so that I could have it shipped and stored at the Louisville store. LT has been checking in with me and went out of her way to make sure I could pick up my dress at my convenience and that I had numbers to seamstresses in my area in case I needed one. My experience from trying on dresses to picking up the final result a year and a half and about 800 miles later was amazing. You’re clearly the priority, and not just another sale. They work hard to make sure that you get the dress of your dreams. Go see LT and learn for yourself how awesome she is.

After trying several wedding dresses on without any luck, I finally found the one at Modern Trousseau. Morgan was very helpful and creative in helping me find the perfect custom dress for my big day. The shop is beautiful, and the service was even better. I highly recommend Modern Trousseau to brides who want a custom dress for their wedding. The dresses are elegant to begin with and having the option to alter the design as desired allows for brides to create their dream dress. I cant wait until my dress arrives. I know I will love it!

I cannot say enough about my experience here! We called late in the day and our consultant told us to come on in anyway and she stayed two hours after closing encouraging me to try on anything and ensuring me that there was no rush and she was happy to be there to help me. She brought out several veils to show me and went above and beyond to make me feel like a bride! The selection was the best I have seen and made for a tough decision but I ultimately decided on the perfect dress!

I recently bought my dress here and my experience was amazing. Their prices are very comparable to other dresses I had tried on, but you are getting a gown built to you. I am very petite 5’0 120 lbs and other gowns did not fit me well because they are made for taller women. Knowing I am getting a dress made in proportion to my small frame makes me worry less for when it comes in and I won’t have to have a lot of alterations. To add to my experience, LT is awesome. I’m totally customizing my gown and she was texting the designer the whole time making sure they could do what I wanted. She also stayed 2 1/2 hours over on a Friday evening to make sure I was totally happy with what I was getting. I would recommend this place to anyone that was willing to pay the money for a top quality dress.

The space is stunning! Located in the Henry Clay building with so much natural light and large dressing rooms, this is the go-to place to say Yes to your dress. The gowns are stunning and you can tell a difference in their quality and overall fit. Morgan is great and truly cares about the overall shopping experience for brides!

Modern Trousseau Louisville is a gorgeous salon with stunning dresses and excellent customer service. I contacted the salon via email and received a very prompt response from Morgan who was interested in speaking to me personally about our event and my needs. She quickly was able to obtain a couple of dresses from another store so that I could make sure that the dress I had tried on at an outside salon was the one- spoiler alert- it was! I drove, 1.5 hours to this store because I wanted to work as directly with the designer as possible and have had a wonderful experience thus far. I cannot wait to see my dress in person when it arrives in April!

So glad this location opened! Such an elegant, beautifully designed site. You can tell MTL was carefully constructed with the bride in mind. The service from MT personnel is incredible as they put all their focus & energy on their customers ensuring they leave with a smile. I cant imagine how anyone could leave without finding a dress! The Sales Director, Morgan provides a private appointment focused on the bride and her selected guests by picking out and selecting the gowns that suit the bride. This boutique focuses on the purchase of the gown as much as the experience and is unique to the Louisville bridal market. I highly recommend coming here to find your wedding gown.

Cute dresses but not a big selection and very hard to just go in for your appointment. Seem to lock the door each time and run over their appointments so I would be stuck outside.
