Cant say enough about the service and consideration of the staff at Melamed. I had to re-route a trip to come to LA for a family members surgery. My toiletries, including my glasses and contacts, were in my checked bag that continued on to my original destination. I had one pair of contacts (dailies) and I was wearing them. I searched for optometrists by my brothers house in West Hollywood and came upon Melamed. I emailed them my prescription (legally blind and an astigmatism), and within several minutes they called back saying they had some contacts matching my prescription in stock. I walked a few blocks to the office and was greeted by a wonderful receptionist. When she handed me a 5-pack for each eye and said there wouldnt be a charge, I was floored. I tried to pay, and they said they were just glad they could help. They knew I was a little frazzled with the change in travel and my brothers surgery. Regardless, they went above and beyond what was expected. If I lived in the area, I would love to find a optometrist or any business that would treat a total stranger like this. Amazing guest service. I recommend others to support this business. They obviously care about the community around them. Thank you, Melamed!

I’ve been going to Dr. Melamed’s for 3-4 years (primarily checkup/contacts). He’s never tried to push any products and has been really easy going/friendly. Pretty efficient checkup as well.

Good practice. I went in as a new patient with eye strain (old glasses had too much magnification) and they lowered magnification a lot and instead adjusted other measurements. I went in again after a few weeks to get a slight re-adjustment and they were very nice about it. My new prescription feels much more comfortable! I also appreciated how clear they were about what would or would not be covered by insurance.

I called him with a flashing light in my eye and feared the worse that I my retina may be detached. He gave me an urgent appointment and examined me thoroughly and comforted me with a comprehensive explanation. A very pleasant experience and I would recommend him to my family and friends. Great optometrist!

I’ve been doing business with this company for a couple of years now. I truly do like this company and I believe in their success Enough to have made five or six referrals! They have an excellent selection of lenses, frames, and generally really good customer service;?however, out of all my business, 40% of it has been not delivered, at all, or very late. As a business owner, and as a provider for my family through my business, I would expect attention to detail and timeliness in order delivery. On the most recent pair, I called four times each time being told I would receive a phone call back with the status and I came in twice also been told I would be given a status over the phone soon-not once did I ever see a phone call back. They are called 4 weeks after I ordered a set of glasses That was promised to be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks for a special gir that was promised to be delivered in 2 to 3 weeks for a specific date.. Turns out they never even been ordered. Very disappointed.While the owner did make mention that he would offer me $100 credit, that hundred dollar credit does not put glasses on my face by a certain date. It’s just an inexcusable..I’d recommend this place only if you wish to purchase frames and get your lenses made elsewhere if you had any time sensitive need hypothetically time sensitive being anytime within two months…

I have been coming to Dr Melamed for about 7 years. He is the only eye doctor that has really honed in on my problematic vision. I am so happy with this office.

As other reviewers have already said, Melamed Eye Care Optometry actually makes it a fun time to go to the eye doctor! Did not know that was possible. All of the staff, from owner to assistant to eye doctor, are absolutely awesome and know what theyre doing. This place is so welcoming and efficient, to boot! Melamed Eye Care Optometry is rocking the customer service.I love supporting a local, family business after years of going to the big guys, like Lens Crafters. These guys get it right, and they have made a loyal customer out of me in just one visit. Cant recommend enough!

Got a cute pair of glasses for $99, and the staff was super friendly and helpful.Later, I emailed to ask for copies of my receipts so I could send in my contacts rebate, and they replied right away: You got it! See attached! Let me know if you need anything else to get that money!

Paid the clown a deposit of $400 for 2 pair of glasses that came to $600.The first pair were so bad I almost ran into another car while driving and had to throw them away.Then these guys went after me for the other pair that I did not pick up because the first ones were so awful.it shows that I owe them $366. for a two hundred dollar balance on glasses I never picked up.They owe me $100.Never use these guys they can not be trusted to take care of your eyes.Awful people and terrible work.

Went in a couple years ago for an adjustment to a new pair of glasses I had just bought and he accidentally broke them. The doctor was good enough to directly reimburse me for the glasses after I proved they were indeed new - thought he was a stand up guy for doing that.

If youre looking for an optometrist in the West Hollywood area I would 100% recommend this office.They really go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of. Doctor Melaned is fantastic! I have visited a few different optometrist offices in the los angeles area over the years and Dr. Melamed is the best !

Dr Melamed and staff were great. He was patient and found me a contact lens that worked, treated me for eye allergies, and his nice staff helped me find a frame I like. Def going back.

I went in for an enquiry and a serious problem was discovered. The doctor was very calm and professional. Very knowledgeable. Although it was the afternoon he made sure he found a specialist to see me asap... probably saving that eye. Highly recommended.
