A total scam and extremely disrespectful Doctor . My wife and I went for an eye exam and clearly explained that we need glasses prescription for me and contact lenses prescription for my wife. She asked us to pay extras which we declined and after she finished the test she asked for extra $250 to give my wife contact lenses prescription. This is a money hungry place not a doctors office. When we refused to pay for the extra and stick to the covered service she turned very disrespectful and asked us to wait outside. she literally kicked us out of her office. Please dont go there, I am 60 years old and have been to many doctors offices before and never as inconsiderate or disrespectful, all she care about is money doctor. Dont do the same mistake. Please
I’ve been coming here for years. My wife and children all go here. I have never had a problem getting an appointment, or being serviced during the appointment. I would recommend them to anyone.
Dr. Diep was the best! The stars I kept are only for her, I’d give her five stars alone.Otherwise… only other positives was the convenient location to my apartment. One of the receptionists was nice and mostly helpful, but I never was walked through what was going to happen or what I was going to be charged for. Especially as a new patient. The other receptionist with..I tried to chalk up to spunkiness.. but no that wasn’t it. She was just extremely unpleasant. I left feeling emotionally battered!! in an OPTOMETRIST’S OFFICE.Aggressively rude & unhelpful. She made me feel like it was my responsibility to come up to her and understand all their office procedures, costs, contact details, and billing. The end of the visit left me feeling uncomfortable (so much so I walked out without a contact order) and really upset.I hate to write this, but I would really not recommend anyone to come here based on the negative patient experience. My boyfriend also visited weeks before since we live close by and he concurred that it really was a bad healthcare visit.**If you must go here,1. prepare yourself for the rude receptionist2. see Dr. Diep. She really was great.3. be sure to ask for a walk through of the visit and pricing up front
This review isnt about the office, the location, or even the service, This is mainly about lack of compassion!A close family member had an eye infection, she had an appointment last Monday. She was prescribed drops which DIDNT work for her, on Friday night her situation got worse, we contacted the DR. to get a quick 5-Min appointment to possibly get her some antibiotic.Guess what they told us ... In the middle of the worst COVID surge, they asked us to go to the ER ... YES, You heard that right, This DR asked us to go to the ER to get some antibiotics in JAN 2021 in CALIFORNIA!! (Just to get home 5-mins earlier)Unbelievable!Truly Sad!There is a special place in H%$* for so-called Doctors like this!!!
Im sure Dr.Wong is great, but lady in front should probably work on her manners and customer service. Didnt stick around for my appt, as rude secretary lost mine and my family biz. Too many optometrists to choose from without having to deal with rude folks!
I went to Dr. Wong for the first time 2 years ago (I had vision insurance for the first year & it was close to my house so I would walk over). When I left the first time in the office (having vision insurance at the time), it still cost me about $200 out of pocket. Originally, it was going to cost more because she was trying to talk me into these fancy contacts, but I told her they were too expensive. I felt a little uneasy because I knew nothing about contacts. How was it that I had a free eye exam and free contacts for the year with insurance and it still cost me about $200 out of pocket after I left.I would call every 6 months for refills ($90 for contacts for 45 days of daily contacts). Last time I called they said they needed me to come in because I was over due (it was going to cost me about $500 with this fee and that fee + the more money for the contacts). I was caught off guard because I was never warned that the last time would be my last contact refill. Luckily, Dr. Wong offered me one more 6 months refill and I would have to come in to see her after. I completely understand and appreciate that she did that for me because it was a lot to ask at the last minute to drop about $500.Fast forward to today, I moved due to Covid and ended up going to Costco. Their exam is $64 for a new patient and the contacts cost me $132 FOR THE YEAR. I was blown away. I was paying about $720 a year at Dr. Wongs for the daily contacts which did not even include the price of the annual follow up visit. She is a nice doctor, but I was definitely unsure when I first went in and am so thankful I went somewhere else before spending almost $1,000 a year for the yearly follow up + refills of contacts. She was reasonable both times I explained my financial situation. But I just feel way more comfortable going somewhere where they dont try to add hidden fees, talk me into contact upgrades that I did not need, and where the visit is more matter of fact vs. negotiating. For that financial reason I decided to leave a review because of seeing how much money I could have saved.
They are very nice and Dr. Wong is an amazing doctor. She checked everything about my eyes during the eye examination. It wasn’t like some other optometrists that they take 5 minutes checking your eyes and then send you to buy a glasses. She took her time and she checked everything about my eyes. I am very satisfied with my doctor and their services.
Great little optometry practice located just off of Santa Monica Blvd. Although I didnt need to use it, they have free valet parking service in the back of the building which is nice. The office hours are great. I saw Dr. Wong and she was wonderful. Very courteous, welcoming, and easy to talk to. She answers any and all questions in-depth and with full explanation. She reviews images with you so you have a strong understanding of what is happening with your eyes. The optical staff was also great, and helped me pick out a pair of new frames. Really enjoyed my visit to Dr. Wongs office, she truly makes her patients feel welcomed. She takes her time, is very thorough, and you can tell she genuinely cares.
Dr. Wong and her staff were quick, efficient, kind and helpful. Would recommend to anyone I know. 10/10!!
Very efficient office, got appointment on same day, great staff. Dr. Wong was very detailed and thorough in her examination, she did multiple exams carefully to make she she didnt miss anything, and provided us with a clear explanation with her diagnosis. My kid and I enjoyed the experience as not all doctors apts were like this!
Ive been going to Dr Wong for years! Ive always received excellent care, and she really helps us maximize our insurance coverage. I have several children, which can sometimes cause stress in a doctors office, but everyone is very understanding and helpful when I bring the whole crew in for eye exams.
Went here for many years, the service has dropped dramatically and the person’s working there just don’t seem to care about their job. There are lots of options when it comes to eye doctors I’m moving on and I suggest if you are considering an eye doctor LOOK ELSEWHERE you can do a lot better.
Been seeing Dr Carolyn for 20 years . Amazingly thorough contact fittings and always willing to spend the time even it means multiple special orders, and trying new lenses as they become available .Very current with technology for checking for eye health. Only downside is it can get expensive even with insurance.
I love Dr. Wong and her staff! She has been my optometrist for years. I love her eyeglass selection too. Before I had vision insurance, I would come here just for the frames. Prior to getting my glasses here, I would try to save money and go to Lenscrafters, but the quality is unspeakable. It pays to have the attention to detail by buying your frames through Dr. Wong.I am always greeted with a smile from the staff and my wait time is minimal. The staff takes my peripheral vision and a retinal photos before I am seen by Dr. Wong. I used to work for an ophthalmologist and know how an eye exam should be conducted and this office is great. The attention to detail and their patients makes me feel I am important. I love that Dr. Wong actually checks my eye vision prescription and makes sure I have the best vision before finalizing the Rx. Previously at other ophthalmologists, I was always seen by a different staff member to take my Vision Rx, and I didnt feel secure. At Dr. Wongs, it will always be Dr. Wong consistently and that is what makes a difference.Consistency made my decision to always return year after year. She is updated vith making appointments. The office text messages me and emails me reminders for my appointments. I like that!Even though I only see Dr. Wong and her staff once a year, they always remember the personal things we chatted about the year before. These little details makes me love this office.Parking is easy too. The office is upstairs, second floor at a strip mall. There is a small tight parking lot in front, Valet in the back, meter parking on the street, and also a city lot across the street. So there are options!
Ive been going here since I was a kid! Super friendly staff and both doctors are amazing.
Ive been a patient for years. Wongs office has always been easy to reach, assisted me with using my insurance, and is straightfoward during consultations.
Dr Wong was great and helpful. She takes her time and cares about her patients
Love Dr Wong!
I loved!!!
