I’ve bought glasses online (terrible experience) and I’ve tried Warby. But I never found THE ONES until I came to Hour Glass. And it has everything to do with the staff and how well they know their stuff. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience! I can’t say enough great things about this place. I was searching for a pair of prescription basketball frames (goggles) for our 5 year old son. This is one of the ONLY place in LA that can cut lenses on the same day! In most cases, they can cut your lenses within the hour!The staff is friendly, and the location is charming. We’ll be here again!

I was visiting in town from Texas and lost my glasses on Thursday, while my flight back was on Saturday morning (I cannot see without my glasses at all). I called every place possible and everyone said it’ll take either weeks or at best 24 hours to make a pair with my prescription. Hour Glass was the only place that was able to get it done immediately and they were able to save my trip from becoming a complete disaster. Definitely recommend this place to anyone in a similar situation who needs glasses made fast!

This is hands down the BEST place for prescription (and non) eyewear in LA. Their selection is amazing, and they are so helpful when it comes to selecting the right frame for your face shape. They take their time and actually care about their customers here. Oh, and you cant beat designer prescription glasses in TEN MINUTES! Love this place.

I purchased the most expensive thin lenses and got cheap thick lenses put into my frames. The owner refused to take any blame (despite previously telling me my trash thick lenses were correct and the best money could buy!). She easily could have offered to order new lenses on her dime (since she fd up making sure my lenses were what I paid for) or store credit but nope! Go elsewhere if you want nice lenses done correctly. It also appears the owner is paying for fake 5 star google reviews...

It finally happened: I needed glasses, although mostly to track the ball better since I picked up playing tennis again recently.A friend referred me to Hourglass Optical so I headed over there to get pair of glasses with transition lenses. I could not be happier and pleased with the service or the eyeglasses.Kathy and Veronica are awesome. As a guy, I would have spent hours trying to figure out the right pair of frames but they picked out a few and ultimately picked out a pair that I am thrilled with. So beyond their expertise, the Hourglass Optical staff also have a great sense of style.I will not go anywhere else for that reason alone but they get a “10” for expertise, technical service (filling prescriptions for eyeglasses), and more (read on below).Unlike most optical places, they have highly-trained technicians in the store, which means you can get EXTREMELY FAST service (depending on your needs of course- I had specific transition lenses that required a little more time, but someone else was waiting while Veronica filled the prescription for the lenses so the team here really does work fast.Also, because they have technicians in their store, they can create custom prescription, transition, and progressive lenses for nearly any frame out there. If you have a favorite frame but need new lenses, Hourglass Optical is the place to go.

Hour Glass Optical is in the top 5 of my experiences with businesses. They went out of their way to help me get my prescription glasses made (I was having difficulty contacting my eye doctor) same day (in only 45 mins actually), even though I was using my own vintage NOS frames. And their price was not only competitive, but actually lower than a lot of lens makers who dont provide same day service. You seldom find people who are not only highly professional and knowledgeable, but also genuinely friendly and fun to be around! And they have everything from budget-minded frames to frames from the latest high-end designers from Japan and around the globe. Art, Kathy, and Veronica are simply the best. Ill be back after I save up for those SALT frames!

Best place in town to buy glasses! I went to 4 other places before I came here and this place by far has the best selection. The staff is super friendly. I went there to see if they would be kind enough to replace a missing screw in one pair of glasses and tighten up the fit in another. I was more than willing to pay for their service, but they insisted on doing it for free. Free! I told them I was going to be writing a rapturous review and should I leave that part out? They said no! What a great service for all especially cheapskates like myself. I must mention that Ive never seen such a great selection of fantastic frames as they have. 5 Star service at a great price.I wanted to find a place that would provide frames I was looking for with my prescription.Veronica was wonderful.I let her know what I wanted and she put the order together so quickly for me. She really made the whole process smooth and effortless for me.Initially it turned out the frames I wanted were back-ordered so she phoned me and suggested another style. After I picked them up and trying them out for a day I called and asked if I can exchange them. Veronica told me it was no problem at all and I can use the pair I have until the new ones arrived. The next day she phoned telling me she was able to locate a pair quickly and I could come and get them. Upon arriving she had the new frames and my Rx lenses with a tint correction as well in no time at all. I love my glasses!Id certainly recommend them and they have a nice selection of frames on hand as well.

I lost my glasses at the airport and was feeling really bummed about it. I’m in town for a week and I couldn’t go a day without glasses so I went to hour glass and literally within 30 minutes I had my prescription faxed and new glasses made and out the door. I came in with broken glasses not knowing what to expect. Thankfully, I chose the right place.Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My glasses were quickly repaired. The optician told me that he couldt completely fix the bend in the frame but I couldnt notice what he was talking about. The frames looked like brand new to me :D

The reviews are true! This place is AMAZING. I’m in town visiting and needed glasses ASAP. Veronica let me try on a million pairs until I ultimately decided on a frame I was into. When she told me that they would be ready in 10 minutes my jaw really hit floor. She was also able to help me out with a contact lense snafu I was in.
