The incredible friendliness is everything. Recently discovered this place and they truly are the nicest and most caring comic book store staff ive ever dealt my money with. Highly recommend you give them a shot when on Melrose. The only thing I hope they stock up on is old back issues and dollar comics for the kids (and MYSELF not gonna lie) ;)

Great shop, bigger inside than it looks.

I’ll be honest here. This comic shop has been one of my favorites to visit when In the area. Unlike the other comic shop nearby, I always get a positive vibe from both the store and employees which in turn makes it very comfortable to look around and shop. I always feel welcomed and the atmosphere is great. I have no complaints for Mega City One.

Yooo I had the best customer service experience here today! I went in thinking it was a record store, however I proceeded to check it out and ended up buying 4 books thanks to Jow’s recommendations! He was so cool and down to earth.Mind you I knew NOTHING about the comic word, now I’m a fan and exited to explore.

I love going here. Perfect sized shop with a really solid collection. Everyone there is nice and helpful. Great neighborhood with lots of other cool stuff too. Golden Apple Comics is aight but they’re a little too touristy and cramped, go here instead if you are in the neighborhood.

Good shop with a good selection of comics.

The store is long and narrow, a bit snug, but there is lots of merchandise and very helpful staff. One of them help me find a specific issue of the latest American Gods series. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I paid less than the cover price, including a bag and board. I will definitely be returning to this place.

Great prices for magic singles

Always nice and helpful and discounts on new comics. Long haired guy and girl with short hair and another guy there with semi long hair have all been great...I dont have a thing for hair I just dont remember names. The long haired gent today even called another store and had them hold a specific comic for me before I could even ask him to do so! Thats truly amazing service! Thanks long haired dude whos name I dont know!

Wish you guys had a bigger yugioh selection. You guys would be surprised on how many people would come to your store. Thats the only reason why Im giving you guys a 4 star. Otherwise great place and awsome people

After looking myself in vain, a staff member found what I wanted in a relatively short. Of time. Plus when I was running the total was less than the cover price. Definitely returning to this place.

Cool little shop

Love this store. Theyve always treated me with respect even though Im a girl buying comics, theyve never talked down to me or tried to swindle me or ignored me. The staff are all super friendly and helpful and theyre even patient with tourists who stumble in off Melrose. Theyre my favorite local comic book store!

Big John is the Man! He went out of his way to find me copies of back issues and the staff was accommodating to others as well. Pet friendly, which allowed me to relax and spend more time to dig through their inventory. One customer yelled at my chihuahua for growling at him, wish he bit him.. lol jp.. or am I?

My favorite comic store in L.A. They also have the best prices for new comics, 20% discount and free bag and board for each comic. If you live close enough, this is the place to take your pull list, for the price and because their pull list service is great as well. They opened in the early/mid 1990s, so theyve been around too. A great friendly staff, another one of their strong points. If I still collected new comics, Mega City One would be the plizzace where I get my new comics. These days Id go there for TPBs, GNs, comic supplies, some older comics, some funny/different Indie comics, since Im no longer collecting any of the new Marvel or DC titles, for awhile.

The owners were so helpful, they get great new comic updates weekly and i can find great new franchises to explore every time! dont miss them

Where to start? The people who work there are well knowledgeable and friendly. Awesome selection from new to back issues, posters, buttons, stickers, cards, etc. They have MTG events nightly along with monthly instore visit from artists and writers. But the major selling point is their 20% off new issues for the week with free bag and board. Theyre even open at 8am on Wednesday. Win/win if you are in the Los Angeles area. Well worth the 5 Stars.

I want to like this place. I DO like John and Matt (who may or may not be an employee there). John is especially cool. Very laid back and accommodating.The store is a Mom-and-Pop shop, which I like. But it appears to be poorly run. The refrigerator hasnt been repaired in days. The roof leaks. The bathroom is inconvenient and filthy. The air quality is poor. The sanitation of the playing tables is dreadful. There is a lot of street noise when the door is open.They do recycle and have a lot of variety and inclusivity in their merchandise. Their prices are a little high, at least for commons. And the crowded arrangement of display cases and playing tables makes me, an autistic transwoman, very uncomfortable.I do have concerns still about child safety in general, which I definitely do not feel is so. Definitely not child safe.But, again, the two stars are for John (and maybe Matt), but John is definitely one cool dude.

I love this place especially if youre into magic you can buy Cards look for magic cards in their large database and they have them most of the time right there. I hear they have other game nights as well I have not yet gone to these but love this place for comics and HeroClix and Magic

Generally good selection and most employees are pretty knowledgable. Be careful though if youre going in for MTG related needs - on certain weekdays they only have one guy working until 4pm and he knows nothing about the game. You cant even buy or sell singles during his shift. Easy way to waste a trip and a lot of time if you show up while hes working.

I come to play magic here all the time. Fridays are especially awesome as well as Mondays.Lots of cool people, friendly staff, awesome prices, and a good atmosphere.

Awesome place, but I guess I went at a wrong night. The owner was a bit rude and unwelcoming. They were having a Magic The Gathering event and it seemed cool but it felt like we were intruding or just didnt belong. I would go back, but on a different night.

Even though the name might imply it they have hardly any Judge Dredd or other Indie back issues

This is my weekly comic book store, where they regularly discount new issues and collected editions 20 percent and promote a lively, intimate community of readers, gamers and fans of punk and nerd culture.

This was actually a decent place, decorated with tons of posters, shelves with plenty of comics and even back issues of certain comics (mostly 90s 2000s comics) Plenty of TPB/HC, but certain ones you cant find here but elsewhere too.If youre looking for Magic the Gathering cards then this is the place because an entire display case of those cards are there! But uhm, safety hazard, theres this big metal shelf stacked full of boxes yall need to be careful, that thing looks like any one of those shelves can tip over.
