Quality selection of unique coffees - and perfectly brewed. The pastries are also delicious. Cute small outdoor seating area. I especially like this place because of the stuff they have available for sale in the cafe. A bunch of interesting chocolate bars, a range of non-coffee beverages including pressed juicery, a LOT of cool looking coffee bean brands, and also a bunch of coffee making equipment! Very pleasant experience here - will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area!
Its tough to enjoy an espresso in a to-go cup. Not their fault but it is what it is. I wouldnt do it again. Next time Ill try their coffee. They have some good coffee bean selection as well and a great decor inside. I think there are only a few seating spots outside.
Revised review:Excellent classic espresso and loose leaf teas. Their various espresso and tea based drinks are also great, though can be quite sweet if you dont ask for less sugar.Original:Excellent classic espresso and loose leaf teas. However, their various espresso and tea based drinks are way too sweet and all are pre-mixed, so you can’t ask for less sugar. Unless you like the high sugar content of a basic mall boba or milk tea, stick to their classic espresso drinks and brewed tea.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop in all of LA— maybe of all time. The staff is amazing, the coffee is perfect, and everything about the store is aesthetically pleasing.
After waiting in line in the hot beaming sun for 20 minutes I wound up not ordering a coffee due to the milk selection. Was looking for non fat milk. Ordered an oolong tea instead which was basically water :(. My son loved his sparkling lemonade though! On my way to another coffee shop now, girl needs her coffee lol
If you love peanut butter, definitely try the cloudy, you will be pleased!
We caught up, and another friend also happened to be there! It felt magical. Dogs welcome
Love this place, the baristas are nice and knowledgeable of coffee. The style is amazing, and the coffee also tastes very good, if not great.
Excellent, fourth wave coffee shop. Slightly acidic, but extremely aromatic expresso. A variety of roasts and huge selection of teas available. Some of the most eclectic, delicious, and creative specials i have ever had the pleasure of trying.
Kumquat is located in a beautiful hillside neighborhood, with ample free street parking on the road its located on (York Blvd.). The shop exterior didnt quite catch my eye with its beige/off-white coloring, so I had to slow down to find it.Seating is fairly limited, both inside and outside. The upside for me is that the interior is setup to where I felt like I was at home, or inside someones cozy living room. There is one unisex restroom near the back, next to one end of the espresso counter.I was pleasantly surprised by the lavish amount of drink options there are, especially when it comes to hand brews/pourovers. Although the pourover I ordered tasted over-extracted (hollow with a weak body), being able to sit back and spend a brief moment of my morning in a generously comfortable space hit the mark for me.Kumquat is definitely a coffee shop you want to visit and take that out-of-town friend to — and if I were a resident of the neighborhood, itd most likely be in my top five. Even with a limited amount of space, the space itself and the customer service expressed places this spot at a solid four stars for me.Ill be visiting again soon enough, Kumquat!
I wasnt really impressed with the coffee here. The matcha green tea latte was average, as was their New England. It was decent, but definitely not worth returning unless you happen to be in the area.
Very Good Coffee!KTown Legends open up a new shop in highland/eaglerock.They brought their swagger and their friendly demeanor.Love the new space and the new drinks. I tried the cortado and a specialty drink. On point.I also tried two breve macchiatos. Wow. They were nice and tight and bright the way i like them. If you are in these parts of the woods come check out Scott & AJ.They are still in their soft opening and developing the menu but this place is going to be rocking.Lots of space to sit and very good for big groups even has a bar section to sit up and close to the coffee action. Was happy to see some anime playing on the wall giving this place a free vibe to enjoy some coffee and some self care. Get lost in thought. Nice big windows to enjoy the neighborhood! They even have small hooks under the tables for your purse or small bag to hang and lots of plugs!Very friendly people.Enjoy!
This is the best coffee shop in highland park. Why do you ask? Well pricing is reasonable compared to the rest of the coffee shops in the town. The barristas take their time to make your drink as if it was the first drink they made in the day. Just take a moment to watch them work and you will know what I mean. I recommend taking the time to have your drink at the coffee shop rather than to go. Most places give you carton cups even if you are”for here “ not these folks. They still offer colorful ceramic cups with a saucer. Yes a saucer! I would even say this is an experience.
Phenomenal third wave coffee location! Pour over selections are immaculate, a variety of small roaster with diverse selections of region and process. Baristas are very forthcoming with information and take pride in each cup they brew. Beautiful small location with spectacular coffee
Love this place, they sell my favorite beans (Moving Coffee) and make delicious coffee in-house with great customer service.
Do note parking lot right in front of the entrance is very small--maybe will fit 2, 3 cars at most. Luckily there are plenty free residential parking spaces around the block.Americano was good. Interior has a modern Korean cafe feel. They sell coffee brewing accessories, tea bags, and coffee beans.
Craft Coffee and menu drinks were too hard to choose from but the drinks are delicious. Talented Baristas as well!Cheers!
I LOVE Kumquat Coffee. Its shares my top spot with Endorphine Coffee in Chinatown as the best places to go in Los Angeles for your expertly brewed top shelf coffee.First, their baristas are all great, and very friendly and professional. Everyone here cares a lot about what they are doing, and how you are feeling about your experience.Second. The classic coffee selection is always great, but they often have 2nd and 3rd single origin selections if you want as well. Also, lots of teas to choose from if you dont feel like coffee.Third. They supply a wide assortment of beans and teas and coffee supplies, so If youre on the lookout for a new top shelf coffee roaster, youll no doubt find something new and very good here.Forth. The cloudy with a chance of peanuts. Trust me. Get this drink. Its the best coffee creation Ive had in years. Great for a chill Sunday afternoon mood.
Mostly obnoxious hipsters, but the coffee is AMAZING.
Love that they change their menu monthly. Keeps it interesting. Totally hate their location because parking is generally hard to find unless it is super early in the morning which it was the day we went. Loved the artwork inside and the space itself is a huge upgrade from when the juice was there. Enjoyed our drinks and I am thrilled they carry a variety of chocolate. I was introduced to another brand that uses an alternative sugar to cane which I love.
Holy cow this is some next level craft coffee action. A monthly menu? A million pour over options? An espresso machine that looks like it comes from the past and the future at the SAME TIME? Yes. Good luck finding a seat, tons of computer users here as everywhere in ne la. Great addition to this stretch of town, unless you hate gentrification in which case this is your worst nightmare.
They know their coffee. Excellent beans and coffee beverages
Great vibes, seriously great coffee!
Relaxing atmosphere couple block from the busy part of highland Park. Easy to find street parking. The coffee shop offer selection of pastry for anyone who is a little hungry. They also make pretty good coffee, Its towards the light roasted side. Also service is good and friendly. I would recommend this place.
Maybe the best coffee in Highland Park. Really cool and quirky environment and well designed. Like a lot of coffee shops in L.A, it can feel a little too hip and sterilized, but youre gonna get good coffee here and enjoy the feel of the shop. I wish prices were a tad lower but I hope that goes to paying their baristas very well.
Adorable spot for coffee in highland park
Truly such kind people and such delicious food! They were so kind and welcoming and could not have had a more positive experience here, they even gave me some free iced tea! You are missing out if you do not come here to meet these kind souls that run this place
During this craziness I was able to locate a place that makes delicious coffee. You need to teach Starbucks.Bay Area Native visiting.
My favorite coffee shop in LA! Get the Kumquat Tonic with espresso - it will change your life.
Best coffee in the neighborhood: indisputably. Best coffee on the northeast side of Los Angeles? Quite likely.
Great coffee, nice people just be ready to hunt for a parking spot
My favorite coffee shop, amazing coffee and teas, super friendly people, and love the aesthetics of the place
Charming coffee shop in the neighborhood. One of the owners used to be manager at Document Coffee. They had so many options of alternative milk and oat milks. The hojicha latte was also really good with the huge ice cube.
You can tell the people making the coffee enjoy what they do because the coffee is so good. And I love their coffee cocktails.
Great coffee and dont forget the cookies
I came here to change the locks and was given a delicious coffee by the owners, it was so good that I had to leave a review . The atmosphere is nice and relaxing and the baristas are friendly, highly recommend
BEST coffeeshop in So Cal??
Situated just beyond the main artery is this place. Its small and lovely. Drinks are well made and priced a bit high but worth it. Staff is friendly. Popular with local college students. They have WiFi although its temperamental.
Very good coffee here. They put a lot of care in making your drink. Very friendly and nice quiet place.
Friendly service. Absolutely exceptional selection of coffee from specialty coffee roasters all over the world.
They make the best cold brew in the city and everything else is amazing. The owners are very friendly. They source some great beans!
Super bougie cafés arent really my jam, so the subjective reality of my opinion gives em a four instead of a five. They were fast and friendly, the coffee was good, but the space was really small and it was on the more expensive end of the spectrum. If you like the fancy stuff, this place is for you.
The coffee is exceptional. The two guys who work there are polite and attentive. The interior is clean and modern. My new favorite HP coffee shop.
The spot for coffee lovers.
A Tonal. Well balanced experience. But equally delicious.
This place is so perfect! A great atmosphere with great sunlight in the morning. I love their hong kong milk tea, its now my go to coffee shop.
I go here every Saturday to get coffee. The service is always stellar and the coffee great. So glad that this place popped up in the hood and I found it!
Great new coffee shop. Modern clean interior and great tasting coffee. Will be my favorite new place in the neighborhood.
Our new favorite coffee place in LA! Delicious pour over and cappuccino with a variety of beans to choose from. They have beans from different roasteries, all are top notch. Baristas are friendly and very knowledgeable. They also have really cute ceramic sets that they serve their pour overs and matcha in. Cute minimalist type interior with 3 tables (about 3 people per table), 3 counters/bars with 4 seats each, and 3 other benches seating 2 people each (maximum capacity for seating Id say is 30 people). Highly recommended!
4 bucks for a 6 oz glass of Iced Coffee americano. The place is cute...great place for specialty drinks and teas. They got matcha.
Love everything about this hidden gem. Excellent coffee, food and atmosphere.
Clean and Nice place, I tried Hot chocolate and its amazing.
Each time I have come here, it has been the same staff members who are polite and quick. They have a lot of tea options, specifically matcha, which is very cool. There is quite a bit of seating for the size of the shop as well. The matcha and Jasmine tea/lemonade I tried was very good. I usually order an Americano at every coffee shop I go to, but I did not really care for the Americano-- perhaps I am just not a fan of the roast of their espresso. The latte I drank was okay, I didnt mind it as much, probably due to the almond milk diluting the espresso taste. I will keep coming because I of the location and the matcha as well as the cordial staff.
Nice place to grab any kind of tasty drink.
Tight quarters but high quality.
Good vibes
Probably the best coffee shop in California.
Real good coffee. Friendly people, their cold brew hits the spot
One of the best coffee and tea shops in LA
Rather expensive. Nice aesthetic
Been in LA two days, been to this coffee shop four times.
Great coffee and service.
