My experience with these guys has been great. Micheal always communicates the situation to me perfectly and I feel like I’m in good hands with them. I come all the way out here from Boulder because they were the only ones who were able to fix my old car. Other folks told me to junk it or said they would call back and didn’t.

I wanted to thank Michael for being honest. His customer service is superb! I have had such an ordeal bought a 2005 Nissan Armada and it was having issues bogging out. I was afraid to bring it to an automotive shop, thinking I would get taken advantage of and be paying for services I may not have required. Michael and his team tried to help me figure out if I was having electrical or transmission issues. He was able to diagnose what he may have though could have been a transmission issue but didnt want to make any claims since my sensors werent populating towards that being a problem. Ultimately, he was able to return my vehicle and save me the time and money I thought I was going to be in for. He was honest and I wish I could have just been able to figure out exactly what was wrong with the cat but I am so happy he didnt try to take my money for no reason. I pray I can find what the issue is after bringing it back to the dealership... But I trust Mike and his team that is a honest man and I appreciate his customer service and honesty. If I ever have issues with car again I am bringing it to Michael! Thank you for your help sir and God Bless!

I’ve used this aamco twice and both times were great. The first was our Nissan that the transmission was completely blown, they advised us to walk away and find a different car. The second time we were told by our mechanic that our front diff seal (connection to transmission) on our Subaru was leaking and needed to be repaired. We took it to aamco and Micheal took a look and told us it was a slow seep at best and our best move was to wait and just keep up on the fluids. They have always been honest and never tried to sell us on a big repair when they surely could have. I would recommend them 20/10 and when ever in this area will always bring my car to them for any transmission needs.

I was recommended to Aamco by Goodyear, where I found the mechanics/Manager to be responsive, professional and above all knowledgeably executed my action request. Initially I went to the Larry Miller dealership who not only took up my entire day with no repair work completed after having a standing appt two weeks in advance, upon my arrival stated that they couldnt service my vehicle. At AAMCO I was in and out with an estimate that was 50% less than the dealership, user friendly, having the capacity to schedule to repair within days.So happy that the dealership was unsuccessful as usual - making the decision an easy one. My business relations is now with AAMCO and Goodyear. If I am going to have to invest money on repairs I want people who I can trust will provide a job well done in an expedient manner.

MIXED REVIEW!!!First off, they did a FANTASTIC job on ALL our vehicle transmissions over the years. Even on older vehicles where they used MY parts to replace whatever needed replacing. During the last decade and a half dozen vehicles later they probably earned well over $15,000 on us alone according to my records. However, as of lately their hourly rates went up and their mechanics appear to be under time pressure because they are starting to make little mistakes, like “forgetting” to connect wires during a repair job or not tightening bolts. Nothing critical as of yet, but it puts me into a dilemma. Do you drive the vehicle back to them for 30 minutes each way plus minimum wait time of one hour, or do you fix it yourself which would take 15 minutes the most? This is not a one time thing anymore but has happened the last 3 times I had my vehicle in for check-up / repair.

I had my 2005 Montego towed in to this Aamco location in Longmont, CO. My vehicle was covered by Car Shield and I have very low miles on the engine. Ken, was my main contact. He called me daily to give me status reports. Unfortunately, Car Shield eventually turned down the replacement. The professionalism they conveyed was exemplary as my wife and I struggled with the decision to make this investment out of pocket. We eventually decided to not to do it. But in the future if we have any vehicle concerns we will definitely look to this shop. And...I will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Our experience with AAMCO was excellent. Our car dropped its transmission in downtown Denver. At the recommendation of our long-time Boulder mechanic, we had it towed to the AAMCO shop in Longmont. The repair was timely, the Business Director, Ken, was both very pleasant and professional, and the cost was definitely reasonable. Hopefully we wont need their services again anytime soon, but, if we do, we wont hesitate to go back to them!

Mixed reviews with AAMCO Transmissions. On my Jeep Cherokee, AAMCO had correctly fixed my transfer case. However, this team broke my transmission mounts for the 5 speed and caused a cascading effect where the muffler was also damaged. Clutch was also not installed correctly.I had specifically asked AAMCO not to machine the fly wheel (per the Jeep owners manual) for the clutch and to check the transmission mounts.Disappointing on the lack of care and overall correct execution of work. Would not recommend this shop.

Ken is always very helpful and they follow through with their promises. The other thing I like is that I know I can trust them.Just brought in a car for to have it looked at. It was free to have them check a burning smell. Turned out to be a trash bag that got caught under the car when driving. Everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, and most importantly, honest. Free initial diagnostic and inspection. And they are thorough with you about explanation. They never once made the mistake of acting like I might not understand because Im a woman. They fully back up their work and while each location is a franchise, owned independently and locally (I asked), their warranty is good at each location and they all have some pretty solid standards to meet. And these guys at THIS AAMCO? Meet my high standards of repairing and servicing my vehicle.

Let’s start off by saying these guys are AWESOME! I went in with some lights on not knowing what was wrong. Ken, got me right in and got started. I needed a new transmission and that sucked. I did have an extended warranty and that saved my butt. Ken, jumped through all the hoops and I never knew the struggle with the warranty company until I asked about it. He spent hours of phone conversations with that company and got them to pay 90% or so of the charges. One thing I really liked about Ken is his constant communication on the progress of your vehicle. I never wondered what was going on bc I was always in the loop. Another thing about Ken, he doesn’t beat around the bush and tells ya like it is. Yea, no one ever wants to hear bad news but Ken drops it honestly and with answers on what to do. I would recommend anyone needing a repair man for their transmission go and see Ken and the fine gentleman at AAMCO!

John is very knowledgeable; though the basic problem I had was obvious (a shredded serpentine belt), he didn’t b.s. me by trying to sell me more service than I needed. I got a coupon for 3 oil changes for this location. When I went in to use it the first time, I was scoffed at and told what a pain all these coupons were for them (it was advertised on Groupon). On the third visit, they took over an hour to do the oil change, with no offer of explanation of why it took so long. Then my car started leaking oil the next time I drove it. I brought it back in, they took it back to inspect it for about 20 minutes, then the owner comes back with my keys and says Youre all set! I had to ask him what the problem was, to which he replied, The O ring was bent. Its just one of those things. But we got it replaced and ran it for a while, so it seems good to go. After I spoke with my mechanic brother-in-law, I found out that the O ring gets bent when you dont replace it when youre doing a standard oil change. So apparently just one of those things includes terrible customer service and mechanical incompetence. Would NOT recommend this facility to anyone, ever.

Just perhaps, its human nature, that condemnation and fault finding come easier than praise. Rarely do we find time to exalt a company, the personnel, and their business ethics, which is why favorable testimonials are far and few in-between .Too often we equate money, as the measure of satisfaction, i.e.. bottom line, scoring that great deal, buy low, sell high. Just maybe its not about any of that and never was. Sometimes the human nature is a genuine concern for the customer, being present, knowledgeable, and sympathetic to the frustrations of a problem the driver doesnt understand - truly how many of us understand the workings of a transmission. It is with great enthusiasm, and hell a pleasure to type this review for the staff at amoco in longmont. There is an innate sense of pride from their introduction, thru the completed work. Each step mapped out, explained in detail [ what happened, why and what to do.] They are not assembly line mechanics, pushing vehicles out the door with a quota in mind, instead quite frankly artist in their craft, who are willing to go that extra step to assure quality [ an additional road test, finding that rare part, noticing things that not part the initial trouble shoot.]Thank you on a job well doneWilliam

My experience started at the Harbor Blvd. AAMCO in Newport beach CA. After taking it in because my truck was grinding going into third gear, they convinced me that a third gear syncro job actually required a remanufactured transmission. $3,000, two missed weeks of work with my truck, and one giant headache later, I was on the road back to Kansas City. We stopped off at longmont to stay with friends, when I noticed my new transmission was leaking after less than 2,000 miles of interstate driving. I took it into Ken at Longmont AAMCO. He said the case was cracked and it would require some time. Over a week later, and after being told numerous times that it would be finished the prior day, I showed up in the morning and waited on it. After waiting four hours, they had the transmission back in. So AAMCO had my truck for over three weeks out of 4. Finally, I took off down the road. I didnt make it 2 miles before I noticed the cruise control no longer worked. I took it back and in order to avoid further frustration and down time, I decided to fix it myself. The two things I learned from this experience are that I will never buy another Ford truck and I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, never go to AAMCO.

I can only say good things about them. They provide reliable maintenance at reasonable cost, and saved me $1K at the dealership on my clutch by repairing the clutch cable for only about ~$100 (dont remember the exact amount).Even since Ive moved from Firestone to Aurora, I havent yet found anyone with their integrity, so unless my vehicle is dead on the road side, Ill drive the 50+ miles for their impeccable maintenance and service.
