The barista was truly looked into the espresso, he clarified everything about. He even aided when I purchased packs of espresso to get back. The staff individuals were all agreeable and obliging. I was more than content with the espresso. It advocated appreciating. Well be returning here again soon!

Came here after a night out at second street and felt very well taken care of. The owner was in and recommended several options for my girlfriend and me.I enjoyed a Mexican Mocha and my girlfriend enjoyed a vanilla latte. The decor here is amazing and the inside area is huge! We also had a croissant and grilled turkey and cheese that were delicious.Ill need to come try their cheesecake next time! Highly recommend this spot.

Very relaxed and eclectic, like the quality AND the menu. You would think that they would be amazing, so many options. How would that be a problem? Maybe everyone doesnt order the items we got today because they tasted neglected. The cold brew tasted like it has been sitting in the back of the refrigerator for the past month, right next to the stale coffee cake that absorbed every order in the fridge. And the apricot tart that was provided tasted like it was served straight out of a can. When I bit into the tart I wanted to eat the coffee cake instead. Very disappointing when it all looked good. Guess looks can be deciving.

My sister and I are at this Library coffee shop every other day and it gets more welcoming every time! 🦇

Been here several times and have always had great service. Plenty of seating for laptop work or chatting with friends. Plenty of great desserts to choose from. Recently got a section of pound cake, it was perfect. The coffee is amazing and they have different kinds of milk to choose from (2%, whole, almond, etc). Very helpful. Best thing is the hours. They close at 12a.m.!

Cozy place for a coffee and snack. Friendly. But could use an update to the interior and rid the old grimey cloth chairs. Other than that, everything was fine.

There was one woman behind the counter and she was lovely. Offered to help as I was overwhelmed with all the wonderful food options. Total second wave coffee and not bad for that generation. Prices were modest on drinks and food. Atmosphere was productive; good for work or a date spot. No issues with the internet which made my life easier as I stopped in to do work. If Im back in the LB Ill definitely be checking this spot again.

Such a cool coffee house! Lots of comfy seating, tables of all sizes, a few small tables outside and wifi. I just had a mug of coffee for $2, refills are .75 cents. Definitely coming back to study/bring friends. I only wish the had an unlimited option for the drip coffee, like some of my other favorite shops.

Incredibly beautiful coffee house steps away from the beach. This is the kind of the place where you order a mug of cappuccino and spend the day working or reading a book. They have added outdoor tables to sit down as well, but its really the rustic ambiance inside that makes this place outstanding.

We came to the Library today. Delicious! We had Roast Beef and Basil Panini. Our drinks were the Heather Bar latte hot and a Heath Bar Latte iced. Yummy! The owner treated us to a slice of lemon cake and vanilla ice cream since it was our first time. Before we left we had a Turkish coffee..one hot and one cold. We definitely will be back! You have to try this place!!

Nice cozy place and it is always open late until 12 am midnight from 6 am. You can always find something to eat like Panninis sandwiches pasta, and you can order breakfast anytime of the day

Beautiful atmosphere that draws you back for more.

This is one of my go-to coffee shops in the area. The staff is always very friendly, their pastries are made very well, and their coffee is tasty. They have a lot of seating but very few outlets, so charge all your devices before coming in. Ive never had a problem finding parking-its all street parking. My only complaint is that I wish theyd invest in cleaning their fabric chairs every once in a while..some of them have a not-so-great oder to them.

If you are ever in this gem of Long Beach, heres some advice, try a slice of the lemon cake, it is the best lemon cake I have ever had. Off of there specialty menu, I loved the Heath bar l, as well as the vanilla goddess.The ambiance is cool and calm, service is too notch.Try the lemon cake!

A staple in Belmont Heights. Come hang out in this cozy coffee/tea shop that also serves breakfast sandwiches (the fluffy egg and cheese croissants are my favorite), baked goods, ice cream and more. The two conjoined indoor seating areas are furnished with eclectic decor and the small outdoor sidewalk tables allow for people (and dog) watching.

Id say its a nice cozy place to grab something to eat and study. Really gives you those old school coffee shop vibes.

Been here plenty of times and I appreciate the relaxes, and mostly quiet, ambiance.The coffee is good and the pastries are delicious - the fruit tart never disappoints.There is an array of bookshelves full of books for you to browse and read at your leisure.Four stars because I dont always feel totally welcomed. Half of the time the customer service is right on point and half of the time it falls short.

I loved The Library! This is a great place to go study, catch up on homework, get some work work done and enjoy coffee and a treat. I enjoyed a sausage, egg, cheese croissant. It was delicious! I could have that for breakfast everyday and be happy. I also enjoyed a perfectly brewed regular coffee. The environment was great for getting work done. It was funny, while I was there the power went out for about a half hour. Still even with no electricity the employees were friendly and the environment was cozy.

If youre interested in good espresso this is not the coffee shop to go to. My cappuccino was bitter, acrid, had no tasting notes I could identify other than a heavy smokiness. About a hundred feet down the street was a coffee shop that offer two types of beans a light roast in a medium roast. I suggest if you want a decent cup of coffee that would be the place to go, not the library.

Very nice place, with patio seating and relax atmosphere. There is not much parking around but it isa nice area to walk in case you need to park a few blocks away.

The Library is cozy, friendly, and comfortable, with top notch coffee offerings and a small menu of delectables. Huge north-facing windows let lots of light in. A patio, and two large rooms, offer lots of seating options.

.asked for a milkshake and got a blended ice drink instead. Kind of disapointed about that.. Even when the girl brought the drink she called it a milk shake .. Perhaps call them blended drinks instead.

John, the owner, is a chill, nice guy. I miss studying there, pre-Covid. The iced vietnamese coffee is quite good as well as the pastries.

This place has a great environment to chill, people watch, and enjoy a good coffee. Their outdoor sitting isnt that big, but its still a good spot.

I used to be a regular, and when I was my review was 5 stars. It has since changed just from the owners carelessness. My friend ordered a drink on a night they were particularly empty. About 10 minutes went by and there was no drink at the pickup. She politely reminded him to make the drink she had already paid for and he just said oh! Okay! Another 10 minutes go by and still no drink. She repeated this about 3 more times before we realized that he just wasnt going to make the drink and we ended up leaving. He robbed her of about $5 and Ill not be returning to an old favorite.I just dont understand how you can see a regular and forget to make their drink after theyve told you 5 different times.

Great place for a coffee and dessert and possibly a quick meal as well, i didnt eat. Nice place to study or meet a date. Reminds me of one of my favorite SF coffee spots. Ive passed the place many times on the way to somewhere else. Will be back to try the cafe food.

Cutest little coffee shop around. Great self serve drip coffee, specialty drinks, and baked goods. The only bummer is how crowded it gets with people studying. It really does feel like a library you should whisper in. But on the flip side, it’s perfect for studying and other quiet activities and the tables outside are fine for catching up with a friend or two over a hot drink. They are open late too which is nice.

I’m new to LB and I just discovered this place. I absolutely love it! It’s a great place to read, the coffee/desserts are delicious, and the owner seems very nice. It has the best vibe.

This used to be a vibrant place to hang out meet friends and have a cup of coffee. As a matter of fact I found it in Zagats. Since the new owners took over years ago I’ve watched this place become stagnant. It just a tatty shell of what it was. The coffee isn’t even any good. I’ll occasionally go here if meeting friends or need a desert. The deserts merit a separate review. They’re excellent. But it not as cool as it was. Those who like it. Like and that’s what’s important. Try it out to see if it’s vibe works for you.

I loved the idea of this place, but was highly disappointed in my oat milk latte. It was bitter, and made with low quality milk. If you want a good latte head just down the street to steelhead. I’m giving 2 stars because the breakfast sandwich was delicious. Just don’t come here for the coffee.

We adore The Library... A Coffee House, Inc. its been a favorite spot for years ever since Gary & Steven opened circa 1993. While they dont own or operate it anymore, I still get chills when we visit as it reminds me of a simpler time gone by along with all the fond memories that went with it. There are special things only Ill notice that are missing, mainly obsessive details that Steven would fret about if he were alive today. However, its a great place to chat with friends, enjoy some dessert & coffee and reminisce... and perhaps even possibly make new friends, study or do whatever else makes you happy. What a gem! I love the library! its cozy, great lighting, neighborhood coffee shop. the prices are reasonable and there are lots of baked goods. I have seen so many kinds of people at the library since Ive been studying there the last few weeks - families, students, all races and genders. the place is very inclusive and community-focused. I am so grateful for a place that stays open so late too!!

Ive been here a couple of times just to grab a coffee and its nice because they stay open later than a lot of other coffee shops. The do have bakery-type food items available for purchase, as well. There is no parking on-site, so youll have to try your luck in the streets, looking for parking. The coffee is on-point, though! This place attracts a lot of hipsters and both times I have been, there were poetry readings or something like that going on, like an open mic night. The atmosphere and decor are kind of like a den/home library would look like, which is cool. Not terribly expensive, either. Check it out!

Fantastic local coffee with the ambience of a library in a stately old home. Very comfortable seating. Excellent owner who pays great attention to his customers. And a good assortment of tasty sweets and savory food items. Highly recommended.

Lattes are good. Thai iced tea, not so much. Not sweet, as it should be, At All. Asked for more mix even and just tastes like oil residue. Great atmosphere.

I liked the place. It is set up in nostalgic library setting. Though not many food options, but the place is quiet and you can work or study with comfort. But you might have to wait a while to be seated.

Whoever the older guy with glasses, a beard and balding is needs an attitude check. Hes rude, acts as if ordering and asking for the status on wifi (that was down for HOURS) is an inconvenience. I wish portfolios was open late, but this is the only place open late. Also their comedy show was BS. Comics were cool, but show was dragged on way too long. Really wish I could like this place but been here twice and the main guy at the register makes the place so incredibly uncomfortable 😬😬

Great variety of coffees and a small amount of snacks. The shop is an amazing viewing pleasure. A long beach stronghold of locals and abundant riches. Parking is not recommend, since it is a store front on a Blvd, but who cares. This is the bicycle city! Blocks away from the beach and shops, good restrooms and nice seats.

I absolutely love this coffee house. Its the definitive example of a neighborhood coffee house. The customer service is very friendly, their desserts look scrumptious and I can vouge for their Patty melt on sourdough, Yummy! This place is very relaxed, plenty of comfy seats and outlets. They have an array of books to read. And theyre open until midnight, which I havent come across in Long Beach do far. Bottom line, I highly recommend this place. Great service, good selection of coffee and teas, great food, awesome atmosphere, best neighborhood and you cant beat their hours of operation. Laura N.
