Auto Member was a great until they got our money. The temporary tags on the vehicle expired today despite calling them last week to inquire about having not recieved them yet. In addition to this when the vehicle was purchased it was agreed that they would replace the two rear tires due to sidewall damage. Specifically replace them with two tires that matched each other. Because the shop was closing that day we took it back the next week and it took them the entire afternoon (3+ hours) to replace the tires. By the time we got the car back they were ready to close again for the day but when I looked at the replacement tires they were mismatched. Im addition to this, the replacement tires had only 5/32 of tread left! The legal minimum in Virginia is 3/32. Auto Member is super nice until they get your money.

Friendly staff, but poor vehicle quality and post-sales service - Dont buy from this dealership...I recently bought a Mini Cooper from Auto Member. On the test drive a tire-warning light came on, and I noticed a humming sound/vibration coming from the front of the car (which I assumed was a low tire). I told them the issues and they took the car into their shop and told me they fixed it. With this assurance I bought the car, and within 5-mins of leaving the lot the light came back on, and the humming vibration got worse. I immediately contacted Auto Lender and was told to bring the car back and that theyd take a look. I dropped the car the next day, and later got a call that the tire light was fixed, but they didnt notice any humming/vibration, and to come out and show the service manager the issue myself. Unfortunately, I couldnt go another day without the car, so I just decided to pick it up and take it to another shop later to get the humming issue sorted. When I arrived to pick up the car I immediately saw that the tire light was still on (despite being told over the phone it was fixed) - The general manager came out and told me it was a bad sensor that needs replacing, and that they had sold me the car as-is with no promise to fix it. This was contradictory to what I was told at time of purchase, and also to the message Id gotten that they had fixed the problem. I told this to the general manager, who informed me his sales team hadnt mention any promise to fix the tire light to him, but hed ask them about it and let me know.... two weeks later I havent heard anything back.Given a lack of confidence in Auto Lender to actually address the problems, I took the vehicle to a Mini dealership to have them check the humming issue and inspect the vehicle. They immediately identified the humming issue as two bad front wheel bearings that needed to be replaced, and also found a cracked drive-pulley and leaking water-pump. In all I spent $2,300 fixing a vehicle I bought from Auto Member just a week prior.Auto Member had better pricing than most other dealers, but after the money I spent to repair the car I would have been better off going somewhere else and paying a bit more.If you must buy a car from Auto Member, I highly recommend getting the vehicle inspected before purchasing it, and if you do notice a problem before buying... dont expect them to fix it... they will not honor their promises.

10 months after our purchase and still no tags or title! We paid extra for tags to be handled by the dealership. This has been the worst experience with a car dealership! Spend an extra few hundred bucks and go somewhere reliable where customer service actually matters and where the vehicle sold WILL ACTUALLY PASS INSPECTION, and your calls and messages are returned. How is this place still in business?

This has been the worst car purchase I have ever experienced! I bought my car in April and as of June I still do not have my license plate!! They made numerous mistakes on my paperwork and neglected to send my request for registration to the DVM for 3 weeks after I purchased the car. I also called for a week straight to cancel my cars warranty and now that it’s past the 30 day mark someone is finally able to assist me. DO NOT get the warranty unless you intend on driving your car until it’s dangerous to have on the road. I would NEVER recommend buying a car from this dealership!

If I could leave 0/5 stars I would. After driving 1.5 hours in the rain to check out a Chevy Colorado that was still listed as available, it was not there. I even responded to the add and received a text stating that it was still available. Upon my arrival he informed me that the truck was sold, and proceeded to try and sell me another vehicle for 5k above the average market price. Maybe it was just the salesman, maybe it’s the dealership. Would recommend seeking a more truthful dealership.

Back in September of 2020 I bought an orange Nissan rogue from Auto member. Did all of the financing there was expecting my plates as agreed. About a month later I received a refund check in the mail for the plates telling me pretty much I was on my own. Frantically since my templates had expired I began calling the DMV only to find out that there was a problem with the title. They wanted me to get an SR-22 because the person who owned the car before me had DUIs. The car had never been taken out of their name when they sold me this car. It literally has taken me till April of 2021 to sort through the mess and deal with the mess. Auto member was of absolute no use I reached out to them at least 20 times during these months begging for help on this. Auto member turn their backs on me. I reached out to the organization that owns Auto member somebody who represented themself as being on the senior staff said that they would bring it to the attention of somebody that could help 3 months later I still had heard nothing. After notifying Pennsylvania after notifying the DMV in Virginia after notifying the police department in Pennsylvania and pulling records to clear the mess up as of April of 2021 I am finally able to drive my car legally that I paid for. I have photos showing the temp tag expiration along with the new plates that I just received. Auto member turn their backs on me and they will turn their backs on you. I think often people offer positive reviews of car dealerships as a celebration that the process is completed, and less because the service rivals The Ritz Carleton. After my initial website inquiry it took a week before someone contacted me back, so I went to the dealership and looked at the cars after work. By the time I got there they were closed. I reached out again and the following day someone called me back. I completed a finance application at there website. Heard nothing for an entire day and when I called the salesperson said that it was approved but I could not get any information unless I came in. It was there policy. Theyll try and make the privacy argument but I shared all of my private information with the store electronically. Of course they could have safely accommodated this request for information.This is 1990s sales tactics that gives the car business a bad name. The insistence that the customer comes in is so that they can be cornered into buying. Auto Member seems to have forgotten that its 2020, and people want to complete as much of the process as they can online and before arriving at the dealership. Old school sales tactics that refuses to acknowledge that the customer has options that they didnt have in the 90s. Outside of the outdated sales practices, the exchange with this store is completely forgettable. I purchased elsewhere and where I knew when I arrived what my interest rate and payment was going to be. Be careful of the old-school sales tactics.....theyre still out there! Buy from car dealerships that are up too date!

I drove 40 minutes to test drive a Promaster City at this dealership. I checked their site and called ahead to ask if its still available and they said 2 vans were available. I arrive and thats when they proceeded to tell me that the two promaster city vans they had in stock were sold earlier in the week and that it takes time for the listings to be removed. Anyways, they apologized and asked if I wanted to test drive a Transit Connect instead which was similar in size and had the same price point as the City I was looking for. However, i had to wait a little longer to test drive it because the battery for the Transit was dead and it needed to be jumped. I was able to test drive the van but again it wasnt the one I was there to drive. Regardless of the mistake, the one thing I want to point out is that I called ahead and said I was going to be there to drive the Promaster City. This means they didnt check their inventory, didnt bother to bring out the van and didnt bother to jump the dead battery in the other available option on the lot. The salesperson was nice but the overall experience didnt give me the best impression and so I will shop elsewhere. On another note, mask wearing among the staff is inconsistent. One mechanic didnt have one at all and some salestaff were wearing them improperly.

One last thing if you try to transfer your tags they won’t allow you to do that either because they want the processing fees as well! This company is shady shady shady! THIS IS WHERE YOU SHOULD BUY YOUR NEXT CAR!!!! I have spent several weeks trying to find a car that matched my budget and that I also liked. Marcos, Alex and Shaan were fantastic to work with. The car was ready and waiting for me to test drive when I got there. They worked with me to find the best financing options and I felt like I was the only one there. Boy was I wrong. When I exited the financial office the place was packed and yet my car was washed, and dilled with gas, and was even more prestine than when I first got there!! They even let me drive the newely acquired car and later drove my older vehicle back to my house 40 miles away!!!! That is service above and beyond. Thank you all so very very much!!!!!!!!

So, my fiance and I were in need of a car and our credit was shot. So after consideration and a few failed attempts we found this place. I had read some mixed reviews some were ok, and some were well lets just say less than pleasant. So i made a decision and gave them the benefit of the doubt. After speaking with and emailing with Katie we scheduled a time to visit the dealership. The day of our appointment I called to let Katie know that we were coming. Only Katie wasnt there. So I found out that she was not even a sales rep. and we met Lacoya. He showed us a few cars and we SETTLED and I cannot stress that word enough SETTLED on a vehicle that had DRYROTTED FRONT TIRES. I asked if he would fix them and he looked me in my eyes and said WE SEND ALL OUR CARS OUT TO BE INSPECTED IT WOULDNT HAVE JUST PASSED INSPECTION IF THEY WERE TOO BAD. And he was correct in the aspect that the car did indeed have a brand new VA Inspection sticker on it. I took the car to a service station two days later and was told there is NO WAY ON EARTH THESE TIRES SHOULD HAVE PASSED INSPECTION. But I knew they were bad when I bought them so SHAME ON ME. Thats only part of the issue I have. So, since I was in a pinch and desperately needing wheels I buy the car. I give them my down payment sign my friggin life away with understanding when and what amount of money I still needed to pay. One week and a three days later my cell phone starts going nuts, my bank app is letting me know they (The Dealership) is trying to take money unauthorized from my account. So I call to find out what the hell is going on. I speak to Butch, someone else I dont know who was not working the day I bought this car. He proceeds to tell me that the System shows my deal is owed money, that I DID NOT PUT DOWN A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY which I absolutely did and that they were attempting to take more money. Keep in mind I bought this car on 11/22/2017. Butch proceeds to tell me that I owe from 11/17/2017. I then tell him in so many not so pleasant words that he is incorrect and Id like to speak to Lacoya, who just happened to NOT BE WORKING on this day. Well how convenient for them. Bottom line, these folks will be nice as pie to get your money. BE VERY AWARE THAT THEY ARE NOT ON THE UP AND UP. LIKE I SAID THE CAR I BOUGHT SHOULD NOT HAVE PASSED INSPECTION, but I was in a jam and needed wheels and got taken advantage of. DONT LET WHAT HAPPEN TO ME, HAPPEN TO YOU!!!!!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Edited:After 1 week of having this car we have found the following problems.Windshield Washer Reservoir has a huge hole in it so no fluid can be held. The other thing is we noticed tires were changed around with the other Honda Civics on the lot. So we will have to change these prior to state inspection. Keep an eye on the car you purchase, they will switch parts out with others depending upon what kind of deal you get.5/22/2020Was responded to a couple days ago, and was told to contact the GM to discuss the matter. My call was answered by our salesperson Marcos who said the GM would call me back. As expected I never received a call back.Dear Auto Member GM,Please dont ask for people to call you to make it right if you have no intentions of answering the call.Terrible Customer ServiceZERO STARS

I’m very happy with our experience so far. Overall the staff we worked with seems honest and knowledgeable. I like that Billy is very straightforward with what he can offer you. How the car has represented online was exactly how it appeared in person. Additionally they were not pushy with warranty and financing options. We financed through my bank so I can’t speak to the banks they work with/average interest rates. I would definitely work with them again.

My brother scheduled a test drive at this dealership several days in advance for a specific vehicle and package. He was told twice by two different salesman that the car was available for a test drive. We drove an hour for the test drive. When we arrived, they said the car was being detailed and would be available soon. They then stated the car we wanted had been sold but they had a older car with a different feature package.A manager then said the original car was still for sale but it was in the shop for a repair and was not available for a test drive today. We were only interested in the car wed asked for and it seems this dealership knew the car was not going to be available but wanted to try to get us on the lot and sell something we werent interested in. This is not acceptable.Overall, they wasted both of our times that day and we will not be doing any business here in the future.

Lied to me and wasted my time honestly. Nice people but they sold the car they said I was approved for when they knew I was coming for it from over an hr away and told me how much I needed for a down payment, however that want right either and I needed way more wouldnt even have been able to get the car they said I was approved for either. I get that it was all just tactics to get me in the door but I wasnt settling for just any car. The staff was very nice though and if you have decent credit Im sure your experience will much better than mine was.

The staff at Auto Member made my car purchase smooth! Especially on a Friday and what a great way to close out the week with my 2016 Audi A3! Marcos my sales person was very helpful and made sure my car was not going to get sold to another person! The general manager Mehdi was also very helpful when closing me out. Spoke to Jay regarding a 12’ Volkswagen Golf TDI that I was interested in on 4/18/20. I spoke to Jay on phone 3 times asking if it’s still available before I make trip. He said YES. The drive to dealership was a hour and 45 mins. I told him I’ll be there that afternoon 4/18/20. Got there, walked into dealership, asked for Jay, he told me it sold last night. He then tried to sell me another vehicle on his lot. Wasted my time and fuel. Very disappointed.

This place was the absolute worst to buy cars from. The vehicle I wanted was a 2017 Nissan Altima SV model. It had bodily damages to the car that were very fairly noticeable and after test driving the car found out that there had been a coolant leakage that they would have had to go in and fix by replacing the entire hose.There was oil all over the engine due to it coming with no oil cap that they failed to clean off thoroughly which caused white smoke to appear after test driving the vehicle. Once we eventually sat down to negotiate prices...the owner of the sales place wasn’t even willing to come down to a fair enough price and only came down 200$ off the original price considering the actual values worth of the car plus the inconvenience I experienced and was only concerned with meeting his sales quota which I understood because we all have to pay the bills, but to be fair...the car wasn’t worth the value they wanted to sell for and I was very dissatisfied and felt as though my time was completely wasted. These people have terrible salesmanship and it’s not worth the time or money.

This dealership is just PHENOMINAL!!!!!I spoke with Jay when I called early in the morning inquiring about a Jeep Wrangler. When he had told me that the one I was interested was sold, I was soooo sad! :( Then he told me that he had 2 more coming that same day but would not arrive for another hour! So I went down to the dealership to look at the two jeeps because I had a feeling THEY WERE GOING TO BE SOLD THAT SAME DAY AND I DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ANOTHER GOOD JEEP! I rushed my dad out the house to get there first because i noticed jeeps were selling ridiculously fast! lol. So, I get to the dealership and the cars were still not there and was told by the GM that they would not arrive for about another hour. The GM knew off bucks that I was a serious buyer and would stick around for the jeeps to arrive. So HE INSISTED ON BUYING ME AND MY DAD LUNCH WHILE WE WAITED!!!!!!! Where do they do that any where else????So, the cars arrived on time like the GM said. As soon as the trailer pulled up, the GM and his team worked together to quickly unload both of the vehicles and ready for a test drive right off the trailer!!!!!!!!! I AM NOT KIDDING! THESE FOLKS WORK TREMENDOUSLY AS A TEAM AND THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO ENSURE I RECEIEVED THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FIRST SERVE OF THEIR INVENTORY OFF THE FREAKN TRUCK!!! NOT ON THE DEALERSHIP LOT!So we test drove the car and it was beautifullll!! Absolutely no issues and is damn near spankn new! 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport with 63K miles for $28.999!!!!!! All the bells and whistles that I was looking from JUST HAVING FAITH THAT I WOULD GET MY JEEP TODAY! After signing the paperwork, they got it inspected down the street, put a new battery, changed the oil and THEN SOME!!!! ALL IN THE DAY OF WORK!!!! Went to the dealer to look at a 2013 GTI originally but left with a 2017 VW GLI. I had a lot of my own red flags because of so many horror stories of used car lots. I was very verbal with those flags and concerns with the salesman Jay. He was calm and reassuring that they would take care of us and not to worry about any of my past bad experiences. In fact the entire team right down to the mechanic were great and honest. They were all car salesmen and wanted to make that deal but I didn’t feel pressured and I felt they had our concerns in their best interest. My son is only 18 and this was his first financed car. All in all even down to a little noise we heard when the car was moving at a slower speed was addressed with their mechanic and problem solved, just needed a new drivers side tire. They took the car and replaced it right on the spot. Awesome guys! Will be back soon to buy from them again!6/23/20Ok so just wanted to say that during all the hype and excitement in buying a new vehicle make sure you remember to check small details like extra keys and most important wheel locks. Found out today when having a tire checked that no key lock to get the wheels off came with the car. This should have been caught by the dealer as they had to take the car before purchase to have a tire replaced. The car so far has been beautiful so no complaints there. So now we are looking at 180 just to get the tires off and have the wheel locks replaced with non locking. That cost doesn’t include what the repair will be. So FYI make sure when buying you check to make sure they can provide a key or replace the locks.
