Wonderful service in a stressful situation! They went above and beyond to help me and simplify my repairs. They are extremely knowledgeable and skilled with British Vehicles(land rover D2 in my situation). The service was also very fast comparatively to other dealerships and auto shops. They provided excellent communication and even better service. Hands down 10/10 in all areas!
After several horrendous experiences at Mini of Las Vegas, we finally found Kensington to take care of our Mini Cooper. The team are knowledgeable, honest, reliable and offer very fair pricing, we couldnt ask for more. Thank you Kensington!
The work was done under the personal direction of the owner, at a reasonable price. In Land Rover circles, the shop is nationally renown, for its expertise. The entire operation and staff are top drawer.
We have two old English cars, one of which has been misbehaving of late, its Check Engine Light flashing for no apparent reason, the sort of irritating malfunction which only a marque specialist can properly resolve. Research online brought us to Kensington Motor Cars, which almost exclusively works on Mini, Jaguar, and Land Rover. The problems with our car were many and not inexpensive to repair, but Kensington inspired confidence every step of the way to a meaningful resolution.Update: after many trouble-free miles, the Check Engine Light asserted itself once again, this time on the highway, forcing us to reduce speed and toddle on home. We phoned Kensington Motor Cars and spoke with Brandon, who is a fine young fellow with an agreeable manner coupled to a functioning brain. Brandon was gracious and most helpful. We also discussed the situation with Bill, Kensingtons very professional owner, for whom high-quality service clearly matters; KMCs premises are immaculate and there is among the staff obvious respect for clients and their vehicles. The process by which our dear old car is being cared for is predictably reassuring. Kensington Motor Cars employs a straightforward approach that we greatly appreciate. We highly recommend this fine independent shop, the best of its kind in Las Vegas.
Serpentine belt for 2010 LR2 - I have changed timing belts on big block V-8s, straight 6 (Jeep), but this was going to be a real challenge. The cost was in line with the service - you get what you pay for. The service is top notch, and the techs were very knowledgeable. If I cant do it....Kensington is my go to for the LR. Like a good doctor, a trusted mechanic is hard to find.
I pulled out of the hotel parking lot on my way home from Las Vegas to Los Angeles when the engine light came on in my 2014 Mini Cooper. Needless to say I was more than concerned. I called AVUS Mini Service in Los Angeles who contacted Kensington and they said come right in. They diagnosed and completed repairs, by 5:30 I was on the road back to Los Angeles. I highly recommend this company!!
Thank you to Kensington Motors for a thorough and speedy repair. After my mini coopers clutch gave out on my way through Las Vegas, Kensington got me in right away, gave detailed pictures of the problems they would work on and gave a fair quote. They were able to fix her within 2 days and get me back on the road. They even washed my mini before handing back the keys. Edward was super helpful in explaining what needed to be replaced and what each part does. I was super appreciative as I dont think I have ever had any repair shop go into that great of detail. Thank you to Bill and Edward for turning a nightmare situation into a much better experience. If my mini every breaks down in Las Vegas again, I know where to go!
Edward explain things well after the test, i like the way they do business and very professional, i highly recommend Kensington Motors
Bill, London and the team are always thorough and pay attention to detail in their service. I feel the service recommendations are always honest and not given to run up a bill, as Ive experienced with other foreign car mechanics in Las Vegas. I swear by them, and will never take my car to anyone else.Loyal Customers,Carlos & Molly Williams
Friendly and professional staff. Good job performed.
Brooklyn was a pleasurer to work with.
My 1999 Land Rover started leaking fluid. I thought it was a head gasket that would have cost $2.5k+. Turns out it was a throttle defroster for much much cheaper. Bill knows these vehicles inside and out. Highly recommended!
Excellent service, friendly and very professional
Always top notch service for the Land Rover and Ranger Rover line. Were lucky to have this shop in Las Vegas.
Truly amazing service! Above and beyond!
I bought my car when it was already ten years old, so naturally theres little things that are not perfect anymore. KMC has always been amazing at letting me know the best way to go about them, save money and just overall keep the car in good shape. My Mini feels better now than when I bought it. Their customer service and quality is amazing, but the thing I value the most thats not easy to find these days is honesty, they are always 100% transparent about every single thing.
Always a fair estimate, great work. Gets the job done.
Feels like a small town shop, the owner Bill personally gave me a ride home when I dropped my car off to get work done. They give you detailed explanations of the repairs that need to be done and updates all along the way. These people really know/love Minis and they stand behind their work, which they back up with a 24,000 mile warranty. Great shop.
Highly recommend Kensington Motors for your vehicle needs.Bill and crew know older Jaguars and how to keep them running like new.The office staff is top notch, every step of the service/repair process is detailed, and you are kept up to date on progress.
Had a great experience. The bill was even lower than quoted which is always a surprise! The work completed was fast and the communication through the process was great. Ill never take my car anywhere else and will recommend Kensington Motors strongly.
Let me start by saying I have a land rover sport HSE diesel. Not real common here in Vegas but Kensington motors took it on. They are always professional. There courtesy vehicle is something I take full advantage of and Trish always makes arrangements for my last-minute scheduling. They are far more affordable than the dealership. The few problems I have had have been fixed the first time. They are the best.
The best place for Land Rover service and repairs in Las Vegas. They have always been competitive and professional.
Stand by their word.We had some expensive repairs on our 04 Jag that needed to be done. A couple of things were overlooked but, Trish and Bill immediately took the vehicle back and fixed it without extra cost to us.Thanks Kensington for making honesty your policy.
These guys are amazing! I unfortunately got shafted buying a car from a local lot and Kensington has worked with me every step of the way to figure out the best way forward, theyve gone above and beyond to help. Also I have an anaphylactic reaction to latex which obviously makes mechanic shops a scary place, and they have been so careful and considerate in that area too. Thank you guys!
You can learn a lot about a shop while waiting for your car: I observe them treating all their customers as well as theyve treated me. Bill Goodman is a master Land Rover mechanic and knows the vehicles nose to tail. Good wrenchmen on the shop floor. Lucky to have Kensington Motor Cars in Las Vegas. FYI, I own a 2004 Land Rover Discovery II.
The best option for Range Rover...
Amazing. Honest. Good. Straight to the point. Friendly. Will be taking my Range Rover here. Only.
Finding your shop in a strange town or finding anyone to work on a 1984 D90 Defender. The work was done right by knowledgeable professionals. It felt good so that I drove it to Seattle two days after picking it up. Thanks
I have been coming here for several years and I’m always pleased with the quality and value.
Travis is the bees knees, I live out of town and was having an issue and called and he understood the urgency and squeezed me in to resolve the issue real quick! Amazing service and most definitely knows his stuff about all these cars, cant thank him enough. As to the negative comment above DO NOT listen to it, Travis shoots you straight and gives it to you real, I respect that.
Thank you my jaguar goes no where else as a single women I always feel safe bringing it to you
Had a new engine installed in my 2000 Discovery II because the old one was over 167K miles and feeling weak. Very happy with the work and have just started the 500 mile break in. So far the engine feels stronger, smoother and quieter. Looking forward to putting a whole lot more miles on it; on and especially off road.
I ONLY take my MINI to Kensington Motor Cars. They are honest, reliable, helpful and knowledgeable. I had a number of bad experiences at the local MINI dealership and was so relieved to find another shop that can service my car. Thank you so much!
Great preventative maintenance insight and high quality service on older Range Rovers. They know Land Rover cars inside/out and really good at keeping that ZF transmission working.
I highly recommend. The staff is very nice and professional. The mechanics were thorough and honest.
The great service starts as you walk in and the ladies in the front explaining to you in detail things that you didn’t know about your car then it continues with the owner working with you and then It finishes off with the great mechanics telling you all kinds of things about your car that you didn’t know 👍 as long as I have A jaguar there will only be this place for Service on my car 😀 thank you to all the staff Kensington Motor Cars 🚘
Awesome auto repair, quick repair, fair price. They know what they are doing
Bill and his staff are amazing! Polite, well-informed and honest>Will definitely be back
Excellent service, respected advisor and mechanic. Bills shop is excellent in all regards.During my last service, the shop manager recommended a fuel system service designed to clear out deposits that could be fouling the injectors and generally reducing the power of the vehicle. I am writing this update to say that I am pleased with my decision to do the fuel system service! My XK has 50k miles, and was getting a bit sluggish. Now she responds to every touch of the accelerator just like when she was new! Thanks, KMC!
Bill is genuine, smart and knowledgeable, and his service surpasses any Land Rover dealership. I feel fortunate to have found Kensington.
This was the first time I’ve been here for work on our MINI and won’t be the last because of the good prices and great service.
Good service prompt and well explained.
Great experience, got in and taken care of same day. Kensington saved me a bunch of money compared to the quote I had gotten from the mini dealership! Thx Bill!!
Great mechanic shop for my mini Cooper. They fix everything
I used to fully endorse this shop, but now I cant. Ive had multiple instances where I take my Mini in for service, pay around a thousand dollars, then have a problem IMMEDIATELY after. Last week I told them that I had a check engine light and a burning smell- they told me the problem is the oil line to the turbo and it will cost 900. I say that I will have to do it later, and they say you should do it today or my engine may catch on fire .They say they can do it in one day, so I say ok. At the end of the day, I return my rental car & call them to pick me up, and they say the car is not ready. Im upset, but theres nothing that I can do. The next day I get my car, and after a day, the check engine light comes back on and the car is vibrating more than normal. I take the car back on my next day off, and they say now its the thermostat and its going to be 750. i tried to tell them that I okd the 900, but I never would have let him work on it if they would have quoted me 1650. I tried to tell Bob that his own tech said that the thermostat sensor had 120 errors recorded, leaving me to believe that this problem didnt start immediately after I got my car back. He didnt care about that, and deflected and said that they could have all happened in a day. I say that he could look that up, but he didnt care to and wouldnt do it. I tell him that Ive had a history of problems at his shop- he says its not his problem if I cant afford to fix my car! I told him my car is shaking more and idling rougher than when I gave it to him last week, and he says its running better than most cars with 66k miles . Bob keeps saying that when something breaks after they just repaired it, that its a coincidence. I say the repetition of coincidences is no longer a coincidence. If you get a high repair quote, do yourself a favor, and get a second opinion- you may save yourself some money and aggravation in the process. You dont even have to take my word for it, check the Better Business Bureaus rating for this shop, and see for yourself.
Confirmed what was wrong. Had to wait on owner for awhile to get there. But I think it was over priced. Real nice staff. And still thinking of using them. ......
Talked with Bill Goodman regarding the side window glass being refitted. The glass and all the moving parts were fitted perfectly, great job!
Great service, friendly staff. My Cooper drives like it is brand new, even though it is almost 10 years old, thanks to them
Bill is extremely knowledgeable and honest. My only regret is I didn’t find this shop earlier!
I took my 2011 Mini to the Mini dealership for an oil change on 9/12/2015. I was told that I had an oil leak and repairs would be $655. On 9/21/2015 I took the car to Kensington Motor Cars. I signed a paper and did not see in very small print that a $114. charge would be made to look at the car. KMC wanted $828 to make the repair. I paid the $114 and took the car to the Mini dealer for repairs, cost $655 with a 24 month warranty. The Mini dealer is better and cheaper than KMC. I complained about the $114 charge, telling Bill that i did not see the small print and he answered I cant help it if you cant read. You come in here to get a price and always go somewhere else Not true. I will never go there again and you can get a better price and service at the dealer.
Another perfect repair!
Scumbag travis...after offering zero communication...lying multiple times...charges our credit card over $700.00 after promising that there was no charge at all for their inept attempts at auto repair....if you own a jaguar especially dont go here. We found out from the shops employees that the owner Bill wont deal with the local dealership...which meant they couldnt find the parts necessary for our cars repair...they were going to put used parts in after lying to us about the parts not being made anymore.so after having the car for two days and claiming not to find the parts? We found them ourselves in less than five minutes....shame on u Bill and travis has the customer service skills of a limp spaghetti noodle...which I would trust more than travis...disputed the charges with the card company and didnt put a negative review up till they attempted to charge our card and steal our money which theu did today. Nice try fellas...i would give them zero stars but u cant.
I was seeking an alternative to Land Rover for basic service and repairs as the guest service culture their has continued to decline and the prices have continued to go up! When I read some of the reviews and rating for Kensington Motors, I was excited for a service center that was rated so well. However, I after taking my car there, I am a little mixed on my experience. Bill (the owner and the only master technician on Land Rovers in Las Vegas) was reasonably attentive and always present to explain details. However, he is very conservative/old school in his recommended services (significantly departing from recommended maintenance schedules of the major dealers) and tends to recommend more costly service, more frequently. His prices are still superior to the dealer (say 30% less or so) which is nice, but the itemization/articulation of what they perform is far from ideal which is not helpful from a documentation perspective (for warranties) or ensuring that you dont duplicate a service (i.e. change spark plugs) that Kensington performs if ever you were to go back to the dealer (since his service age for replacement is out of sync with theirs (i.e. he is every 30K for spark plugs but the dealer is only at 105K)). Their invoice just reads 60K mile service and has no multipoint inspection documentation that is fairly common these days to denote everything the checked/did.I had a few other items that I had him look into, but didnt get the sense that they reviewed the vehicle proactively for other potential issues that might be covered under the warranty (but it is possible my car had no issues either).Overall, it was an okay experience. Not great, but not bad.
I took my mini to the dealer for service and they came up with a problem and parts that needed to be replaced. I then checked the internet and found KMC because the dealer price was incredulous. They did agree with Mini but did the repair for 30 plus precent cheaper. They explaned everything in detail. Great serevice. My engine light came on Wednesday and they did some magic and the car was running great until this morning. i had appointment for service so when the engine light came on again it was pure luck i was going there anyway. I am waiting for a call to find out what is going on with my turbo. TO BE CONTINUED
Another great job by Kensington Motor Cars. Intermittent AC issues on my Mercedes, picked it up and works great now.
Mini Cooper Subject Matter Experts!
Bill is the best at fixing minis
They don’t stand behind their diagnostics. Terrible business.
Great customer service
