Great experience at CarMax. Went in to sell my Mini Cooper. Not only did they give my a good price for my car, not one time did anyone ask me if I wanted to buy something else there. They cut me a check right there, total process took 1 hour and 15 minutes. Great job! Will give them business in the future.

I mean WOW!!!!If you’re looking to sell your car sell it here!!I was originally planning to sell my car myself online. But someone mentioned selling it through carmax so I gave it a shot. I did the online appraisal and liked the offer so took it in. Appraisal came back the same(I suggest putting everything in accurately online)Over all I spent less than 2 hours in there. They paid off what I had left on my loan and gave me a check for the difference. I thought the appraisal offer was very reasonable and competitive to what I would have sold it for by myself online. All without the hassle.Everyone there was super nice and everything was handled very quickly!

Called and made an appointment for service at 5pm. They accidentally made it for the retail side instead, but told me it shouldn’t be a problem to go to the service center. The lady in the service center, Maya, was completely rude and incredibly condescending when I explained the issue to her and stated that i had no problem coming back tomorrow. She then stated that they didn’t have an appointment until the 12th. Today is 1st and my car has an engine problem and expected me to wait 11 days to get my vehicle fixed. Mind you, i just bought from them less than a week ago.The retail side has been great, Kenny and Bryson were a huge help! However, do not ever get your vehicle serviced here or even pay for the plan if you have to wait almost two weeks to get your vehicle serviced for a major issue. By then you could have exceeded the mileage on the warranty and then they really wouldn’t help! Ridiculous!

It was time for me to part ways with my 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman. I purchased the Mini in 2014 at Carmax, so I decided to try them once again after eight years. I made an appoint on Saturday (which could have been several hours) considering its possibly one of the busiest days for car sells. When I arrived, they had me listed on the appointment board and stated that it could be up to an hour until a salesman would see me due to the volume of customers and the staff they had on hand. This gave me time to look at the inventory of cars they had on hand. I created a good... better... best list for myself and I found a car that met all of my criteria. Not even 30 minutes had passed, when I received a call from Prentiss Orr ( a salesman) informing me he would be helping me. From the appraisal of my Mini, to walking me through the process, this guy was the BEST! He made the entire experience effortless. I am a second time customer and I would do it all over again. I am very happy with my new car.

Our son purchased his first car, Mercedes C300, in December 2019. The same week, he smelled gas which was coming through the AC vents and into the cabin. This continued periodically over several months. Our son finally informed us of the smell but it was too late. He was on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. The interesting thing is CarMax claimed the vehicles are thoroughly inspected prior to sale. Well, they missed this one.In less than 6 months after purchase, the transmission had to be repaired. By the way, the gas smell was still entering the cabin when the car was towed to CarMax for transmission repairs. Since CarMax could not resolve the gas smell in the cabin issue, we had True Automotive in Marietta diagnose this issue. There were two software recalls and one warranty repair. At no charge to our son, the warranty repair resolved the issue which was the replacement of the fuel hose. Our sons C300 is running like new.Due to the friendliness of the service staff, this review was rated 3 stars.

I completed an online offer before making an appointment for an official appraisal to sell my car. I arrived on time with all necessary forms and paperwork in order and car ready to go. I was told upon arrival that the entire process would take about an hour and a half. Everyone was generally pleasant but each time I was quoted an estimated time frame it was waaayyy off. Entire process took just under 4 hours to complete. In the future, quote times more accurately if you are really busy.

I made my second purchase from Carmax Town Center today; and just like last time, I had a great buying experience. I worked with Mr. Sullivan who was an absolute pleasure and we had great conversation while waiting on the logistics of the trade. I got an older car with higher mileage and feel comfortable that it will be a reliable car with the warranty package I got. When Im ready to trade again, I will absolutely try Carmax again!

I received an offer online from Edmunds. I took my car to CarMax and was greeted right away and directed to someone who could help. My car was inspected onsite and my offer was confirmed. I was cheerfully assisted in every step of the process which took about 45 minutes. In the end I was given a check along my old license plate. All in all it was a very simple and satisfying experience. This is the second car Ive sold to CarMax and both experiences were equally smooth and rewarding.

We were skipped over 3 times… we watched all the appraisal personnel ask the other customers questions. They would just look at us and go to the next customer. When we were finally seen, the gentleman was very rude and was pushy. He didn’t even asked how we were doing. I watched how he engaged with the other customers with no problem. I only came here to sell my vehicle, because it was recommended. I was very displeased with the service.

Mark Peltonen was the Sales Consultant that helped me with the purchase. He explained all the processes and details in detail. He was very insightful and helpful. In the end, I purchased a nice vehicle at a great price. One of the best parts, from the time of arrival, to having my old car appraised for trade in to driving away in a new car, the process took 2 hours.I will highly recommend CarMax to anyone that is looking for a new vehicle.

I bought a car September 14 I was issued a temporary tag Three weeks into me purchasing my new car at Carmax in Kennesaw contacted me and told me that they could not get the lienholder to release the lien on my car so therefore I had to go and apply for another Temporary tag so now here it’s October 30 and no one has resolved this issue no one’s had even reached out to me so I when I reached out the day of they said they would buy it back and swap the cars with me so of course my credits ran again for this buy back and exchange but no one is trying to speed up the process it’s just Ridiculous I highly don’t recommend them

Sold an older car to them (2002 RAV4). Good offer, saved the hassle of selling it ourselves. Took just over 2 hours for the whole process, but they were busy. Wouldnt put check in married name, only maiden name that was on the title, but bank was cool with it.The long wait time combined with too bright fluorescent lighting and uncomfortable seating are the reason this isnt 5 stars.

If I could give CarMax a million stars, I truly would! My daughter and I have literally spent 8 hours on Friday and another 5 hours Saturday at another dealership, which I should name because no one should ever go there- trying to get a car. They gave us the runaround, showed us the wrong car, and just otherwise gave us poor service. We found a car online at CarMax, did the credit app, and got pre-approved in minutes. When we got to CM, we were promptly met at the door by Dennis. Super nice guy! We test drove the car and completed the sale in less than an hour!!! Unbelievable!!! I have bought cars from both dealerships before. I should have gone with my gut from the jump and went directly to CM. I will NEVER go anywhere else ever again and neither should you! Run! Dont walk to CarMax!

I was very disappointed today. I went in to pick up the vehicle that I put on hold after test driving it yesterday. I handed them the check from my credit union to purchase the vehicle. My credit union Navy Federal ask me to get on the phone only to tell me that they wont release the funds due to the vehicle being in a major accident. Car Max told me their carfax report didnt say, that. I showed them the report that Navy Federal emailed me. They ask me to email them that report. 20 minutes later, I was told by the salesman that the truck that I was buying is being pulled from the lot.He offered me free shipping if I find another vehicle on one of their other lots online. I had my hopes set on this vehicle for my Autistic son and I.My trust for Car Max vehicles being legit has seriously taken a nose dive. Also, no one from management cane to speak with me to rectify this matter. I left the lot with no vehicle.that Navy Federal sent me. Please check tapir carbefore buying a car at this dealership. Thank God Navy Federal check this for me. I would have bought a lemon.I am attaching the carfax report that I was purchasing today.Be careful!

Im heartbroken. Purchased my first used vehicle in mid July so I can travel to and from work 5 days a week (less than 7 miles from my home). Vehicle was operating fine (minus the recall the vehicle has and additional miles that) until the 30 day return ended. One week later after my 1 month anniversary of being a first time car owner, I had to schedule an appointment with the the car dealership because the engine light kept coming on intermittently. Low and behold, Friday of that same week a warning sound and coolant temperature high message appears. Brought my car in for service the following day and 72 hrs later, Im told its a coolant leak and a pressure test has to be done. Turns out the gasket has been damaged and the vehicle needs a new motor. How? Why? Please explain to me how this happens exactly when the deadline to return the vehicle expires?

This location doesn’t even deserve 1 star… WORST car buying experience ever. We’ve dealt with THREE different sales reps here and they’ve ALL been horrible. The sales manager does nothing but justify the poor customer service. There is absolutely nothing pleasant about this place or experience.Editing after continued HORRIBLE service :The car that was purchased turned out to have mechanical issues. We brought the car back to Carmax & they claimed to have fixed the problem. Head out of town 3 days later and break down a SECOND time. Carmax has done absolutely NOTHING to make this right. Ended up returning the car and will be taking our business elsewhere. Save your time, money & sanity and go elsewhere to purchase a vehicle.

HORRIBLE experience. There is not a single person at this location that is worth your time. The employees are all just sitting around on their phone with NO interest in helping the customers. I sat around for 5 hours waiting to purchase a car. My sales rep continually got up and would disappear. We kept having to get up to find her for status updates. Had a few issues with the car after purchasing, they gave me a loaner vehicle with NO break lights. I could go on for days about the terrible experience with Carmax. I will be sure to let everyone I know that is looking to purchase a vehicle to seer clear of Carmax.

This was by far the best experience I have had buying a vehicle. No nonsense, haggle free pricing. Lower prices than all local dealers. Very honest opinions on the better suited purchase. Instead of being pressured to purchase a vehicle I was told to shop online and make sure I was getting everything I wanted in a vehicle at my price range. Any vehicle they have within 250 miles can be shipped to the store in 1 - 4 days. I walked away and checked Ford, Toyota and Nissan.. had some food and decided to test drive a F150 with all the features I wanted back at CarMax. Still was not pressured to purchase but I really liked the truck and interest rates were great (2.9%) and I was also offered $3700 more for my 2012 Infinity than I was hoping for. I could not recommend this dealership more.. Great first time buying experience using them and will definitely consider them before any other dealership. Website is great also for limiting search lists to all the engine sizes, vehicle upgrades and mileage that you want in your price range. No need to scroll through page after page of over priced vehicles wondering if it is what you want and taking forever to load.Shout out to Victor R. highly recommend this guy.

Unbelieveably poor customer service!! Purchased vehicle online and had it transferred from IL to GA. Then, had it delivered to my home. Extremely difficult process with a lot of issues. First issue... I wasnt told up front that I could not us a CC for my downpayment. Because of downpayment size, I was moving money from several places. So, it came time to deliver and then I was told I could not use CC. Delivery was delayed another week even though I had fund made available within a few days. If told up front, I could have move funds before vehicle arrived from IL. Second issue, I had to give the same information for purhcase and loan processing at least 3 different times and each time it was to a different person. Each time was a 10-15 minute phone call. Third issue, when trying to reschedule the delivery after funds were available, I called and was put on hold for 15-20 minutes and never got through to anyone. The last time I called, I told them to not put me on hold again that I wanted to talk directly to someone. Fourth issue, the day came for the delivery, I had to call to confirm it. After the threat to not put me on hold again, I finally spoke to a manager and was told that I may have to come to the store for a curbside pickup. Had to tell them them that was not an option and I expected it delivered today or I would cancel the sale and expect all money (including transfer fee) back. It was finally delivered that day.

The 2nd one when I took in to be serviced I was treated like I didn’t know anything about cars because I was a woman. Everyone is super nice but i have been sitting here for almost an hour and a half waiting on paperwork. They are busy, but still should not take this long.EDIT: I waited 2 hours before they told me i brought the incorrect paperwork even though they told me to bring exactly what i did when i called them prior. Told me I had a service appointment set for the 14th, turns out it’s the 21st. I just got this car and I’m having issues and they are so slow to fix the issue. Keep the same energy you have putting me in the car when it’s time to fix it. This is the second vehicle I’ve had in 30 days because the first one was a lemon. Take heed to the 24 hour test drive and drive the hell out of it to make sure you are aware of all issues before signing. They don’t care after you sign those papers and walk out. I’ve been to 3 different locations and this is by far the most unorganized one. Staff is rude and didn’t listen to my concerns regarding this car. I’m hoping it’s not a lemon too because I’m really close to that 1500 mile limit. The lady that works in the service office didn’t apologize for the inconvenience or anything, when I know she was the one I spoke with that said that lie because she still had that disgusting attitude. Beware, they sell shiny new, LEMONS!

I have bought a couple cars from the Town Center Carmax in Georgia. Decided to sell them my BMW X3. Got the online offer. Called to make the appointment - told I don’t need one and got the checklist of what to bring. I hand them everything on the checklist in the business office. Every single thing. They take it for a ride and honor the offer except now they’ve lost my payoff information, lost my current registration…dude. I’ve been standing right here how do you lose it? Oh, just go get us another copy. Of my registration? There is NO copy of my registration. I brought you everything. I even called to make an appointment. Well, if we find it then it will be another 45 minutes to an hour. Cancel my plans to go look at Lexus’ at Carmax next week. Pathetic.

I bought a car from them and traded in my paid off car in February. My new car is great. I love it. However the experience I had with Carmax other than the car itself has been stressful and irritating. For starters they lost my paperwork and had no way of telling me when exactly I would receive it so I couldn’t register my car for months. My second temporary tag expired and I was told to ‘rent a car’ until my packet came which I was told could take months. I went in person to get this resolved and was helped by Destiny who was the sweetest most understanding person at this establishment. I was visibly annoyed and not that pleasant but not once did she present herself as anything other than caring. She was able to give me answers when the manager was not able to provide any at all. After I received my packet thanks to Destiny I still had to pay $763 out of pocket to register my car and Carmax would reimburse me. It took them a month to do so and even still I received half of the amount I paid even though I’m sure I’m already paying for it in my financing fees. I decided to drop it since this whole process has been going on since February and I’m exhausted with having to deal with it. I WOULD NOT recommend buying a car from them. They are unsympathetic (except for Destiny) and of basically no help should things go wrong. If I could go back and do it over I would have went somewhere else or just kept my original car. NEVER WOULD I EVER buy another car from them. Save yourself the time, money and stress and go anywhere else.

I was approved to purchase a vehicle at Carmax via Capital One. I traded in a vehicle at the time. Now, a month after I am being told that Capital One is not approving my loan after I was originally approved for over $50K. This makes little to no logical sense to me.

Appalling lack of customer service at this location (particularly in their service department). We’ve had two absolutely unacceptable experiences with Forest being condescending. This is clearly a management issue at this location, as we’ve had good experiences at other locations in the past.

I will never buy a used car again from here, past warranty, 4 months left to pay and have replaced electrical wires for windows, egr valve, throttle body and various other components, every month I pay the car bill all while dumping hundreds of dollars replacing parts on this defective lemon of a car. Other friends are in the same boat. Just go to a dealership next time and just deal with the haggling, will end up with a car that doesnt need constant repair!

The Kennesaw branch went above & beyond to make my purchase happen. I paid for a car to be transferred from SC to GA .. when it arrived it was missing back seat head rests. At 1st we thought I would have to wait several days for ordered parts. Then the people at the Kennesaw branch put their heads together, came up with a plan .. and made my dream purchase happen that day!!

I did my research before going in. I found a car Id convinced myself Id be lucky to get. I worked w/Debbie. She listened and encouraged me to get something I want. I got the car I have been secretly wanting and didnt think Id get approved for. Im still in shock. UPDATE:Hes a smooth talker & a swindler as well‼️ The first Ford Focus my MaMa got, transmission went out 2dys after we got home & also was rusted like hell all under ( my cousin checked ASAP he was free, it been flooded)‼️ They took it back, 30day policy had another, newer Focus, upgrades on trim and all.. 2 1/2 weeks after purchase it starts catching & dragging like its a manual & the Carfax isnt viewable online anymore..Sully is an awesome salesman to work with! Super chill and definitely takes his time with you, as if you were his first customer ever! Really swell all around!!
