We went there to get a used car from a dealership inspected before purchase to find out if anything is wrong with it. The mechanic was very honest and straight forward and found a leak in the front axle which he reported to us and gave an estimate of the repair costs. His report helped us in the negotiations with the dealership and we got the dealership to replace the axle free of cost to us before the purchase.

Went in back in April to do a brake job, they replaced my pads and resurfaced my rotors in the rear. 6 months later they are completely worn and need to be replaced altogether, meanwhile my front ones are still perfectly fine!Did a 4 wheel alignment, brought it back a few days later because my wheels were still shaking and the tech Sonny was extremely rude and unprofessional, borderline degrading me about his work. While I was trying to explain to him thst it might have been a different issue he didnt give me the time of day.They did a dye test for my ac didnt find any leaks, yet my ac recharge was only good for 2 weeks.Chose them because it was in the middle of the pandemic and thought I would give my money to a small business, even drove an hour out of my way. Debated writing a review but here I am today getting my brake pads and rotors completely replaced per the tech here at Brake Check the brakes were DONE, DONE, DONE.

Marear service and fair. We were driving to SeaWorld San Antonio when our Jeep check engine check light came on. We swung by a Jeep dealership and they told us that they could check the light next week because we weren’t on the schedule and they were booked. We proceeded to Katy Auto Care where Jack took great care of us. He checked the light and told us it was nothing major to worry about and if it came back on to swing back. I highly recommend them. I had an oil change from someone else the day before. I was driving to Houston and a strong smell was coming through the vents of my car. I pulled in here so I wouldn’t end up stranded. The nice young man popped the hood and realized that my oil cap was not on. He washed my engine, aired my tires up and washed my car. Katy Auto Care is by far the finest mechanic shop I have been to ever...and I’ve been to a lot. I’ve lived in different cities and states. Their customer service is unmatched. I called to make an appointment and was greeted by Dana. She was very helpful and encouraged us to come in and drop off my truck. Advised they would like at my tucks brakes free of charge. Didnt rush me of the phone and answered my questions. When I dropped off my vehicle I was greeted by Dana and instantly felt welcome and had me in out of the office. They called me within 30 minutes to advise of my issue, agreed upon the service work. They gave me a call when the vehicle was done less than 3 hours from the time I dropped it off. Upon pick up, I was treated with great customer service. They accidentally misquoted me originally and short changed themselves by not quoting my any labor charges when they contacted me earlier. They were aware of it afterwards When I came in to get my vehicle, they advised they didnt charge me labor and they werent going to because that is not how how they do business. Dana advised they appreciated my business and it was their mistake and I didnt have to pay any labor. That is unbelievable and lets face it, now days nobody does that. I will go out of my way and pay more for good service. I felt welcome and appreciated from my first call to the time I pulled out of their parking lot. The owner Gil, seen me leaving and stopped me at my truck and just wanted to introduce himself and was curious how I located the facility. They have found new customers from this point forward. If you want to be treated honest and receive great service, go visit this crew. My vehicle drives great.

Nissan told me I needed work done on my two year old vehicle. When I took my car in for a second opinion Katy Auto Care told me my car was fine, and did not need the work I was quoted by Nissan. Shortly after my AC started acting up and my compressor needed to be replaced. Katy Auto Care was able to get it in, and replace it in one day. Since it was during the Summer, and the Thursday before a Holiday weekend I was very grateful for the fast service.

It has been awhile since I have been here; maybe 10 months. I used to come here for every oil change and I even had my brakes replaced here. Dana at the front was polite and professional towards me since the beginning. Their prices are fair and the work is of great quality.It is too bad I live and work much further away now or else I would still be coming here for all of my cars maintenance needs. I hope Bear, the sweet old dog that makes an appearance there every now and then is still alive.Anybody who is in this area should come here for their car work. I had car troubles last week and took my car to Katy Auto Care and received the best customer service ever. As soon as I came in I felt WELCOMED. Gil, the owner shook my hand, greeted me, and immediately welcomed me in. Dana was awesome and amazing with her friendly and honest service. She explained everything very thoroughly and even offered for one of the staff to drive me home so I didn’t have to take an Uber. I felt very secure leaving my car there. After I left, Dana continued to call to give me updates on my car and to my amazement, they were able to fix everything that day and for a reasonable and fair price! What more can you ask for?! I was very pleased! But wait! After I had picked up my car, Gil called me and apologized for not coming out to the front to thank me in person for my business! I had an appointment in the morning for wheel alignment, and the technician told me my car doesn’t need an alignment yes i got charged full price for it and instead of charging me 50% off they gave me “ complimentary car was” for $44. Totally not happy with it.

It is the best experience i have ever had there. I was going everywhere trying to fix my fenderwheel everyone was saying the price about $100. They did for $25 in front of me in like 20 min and everyone was took about an hour. The receptionist was so kind and nice. We were treated very nicely and very helpful.

Looked up Katy auto care online for some help with car troubles. Everywhere else I went car mechanics didnt want to deal with me but Katy auto care took care of me. Fix all my problems with great customer service. Very easy and convenient. Very friendly too

I have taken both of my vehicles to Katy Auto Care over a period of several months (Explorer and Lexus). I had major issues with a previous mechanic and they have helped me weed through the problems. They were fair and reasonable with every repair, and kept me informed of what the costs were before proceeding. Dana has even offered coupon discounts to me and my wife, and have always been respectful and courteous. I am very happy with the service, and dont believe the stories of some of the people posting on here.

After getting a $500+ quote on needed repairs from another service center, Katy Auto Care took a look at my car and told me I needed none of it. With a very reasonably priced wheel alignment, I found myself spending less than $50. On top of that, the whole place has the feel like I am asking an informed friend to give me some sound advice on my car. They seem like good people who are interested in helping, and they have my business.

Absolutely grateful for finding Gil’s shop in our unfortunate detour to Katy. Our van broke down on Friday and we waited all weekend at a Motel 6 to get it diagnosed but to no prevail this Monday morning when every mechanic either didn’t have experience with our kind of vehicle, a 95 Chevy Astrovan or they were just plain booked! Although we weren’t able to get a clear diagnosis on our van, Gil went out of his way and had us taken care of before his other customers, just to get these 3 travelers (who are far away from home and resources) back on the road. We left with a better idea of what the problem may be, and some options pertaining to what we should we do if the symptoms reoccur. Free of charge they drove the van, checked it out and gave us sound advice. As Gil said, he treats others how he’d like to be treated, which is why he took care of us despite the 12 other customers in line, stepped into our shoes and tried to tell us what he would do if he was in them. Thank you Gil and your wonderful team, we appreciate your service and recommend you to anyone looking for a reliable automotive shop that won’t charge you unnecessarily and will get the job done!

I had just bought my car from a private seller a couple hours before they were soon to be closed, they 100% accommodated me and did a full inspection with no cut corners and no rush and with a positive attitude. I recently had an issue with my 2014 Dodge Challenger. The dealership told me it would cost between$1100.00 - $1400.00 to correct the issue. I went to KAC for a second opinion. Gil and his team checked the vehicle and assured me the repairs would be less. Turns out the repairs were hundreds of dollars less completed in a day and when I picked up my vehicle it had been washed at no extra charge! These days WHO DOES THAT? What a blessing this whole team is for community. I highly recommend KAC.

I recently took my 2006 Suburban to a nearby reputable dealership for an engine diagnostic (at $125 cost) and they told me I needed a new engine at the cost of about $8000. I will not name this dealership but they are located down on the West Side of Katy Auto Care. Thank the Lord that an old friend of mine suggested that I get a 2nd opinion from Gil Harris at Katy Auto Care. He did the standard computer diagnostics first and he then did an old-school real mechanical test on my engine including driving it hard on the road. Bottom line--Gil said there is no way that I need to replace this engine. He further fixed some other minor issues at little cost. Gil and Katy Auto Care are absolutely first class in every way and they have made a customer for life out of me. I HIGHLY recommend you try Katy Auto Care the next time you need repairs. Just good, honest people.
