Had an excellent first experience with Walters Auto Service! I was worried that I had a wheel bearing going out on the car and had a trip out of town the next day. They were able to get me in the same day I called and quickly figured out the source of the sound from my car (rusty brake rotor). The team was professional and very friendly! I will most definitely be back the next time I need work done on the car 😊

My roommate and I had a great experience here! The staff was so kind and caring, they made us feel at home. Dave was so nice to us! I usually don’t have great experiences at auto shops and this place blew my mind with how great it was. They didn’t take advantage of us since we don’t know much about cars! The building is so pretty on the outside too. We are so thankful to Dave and everyone else at Walters Auto Service. I had an amazing experience at walters auto service. The staff was out of this world and went above and beyond to help me, especially the manager Dave. I am a young college student and desperately needed car help and I walked in and he made me feel so comfortable and he went outside right away to check what was wrong. He had a very good sense of humor and didn’t make me feel bad about not knowing anything about cars. He was super quick and efficient. I am so grateful I went here to get it checked out. Thank you so much Dave you are the best and made my day.

I was very thorough with looking at Google reviews in this area and Walter’s had the best overall ratings by far. I called and spoke with Dave, who was very personable and helpful. Told me he could get me in Friday but if I drop it off he may find the time to get it done sooner. To my surprise he found an opening the next day! Got my brakes all done in a timely fashion, communicated well & kept me informed of my options. I was very pleased with the work, the cost and the service. This is my new go-to spot. Highly recommend!!!

I chose to go to Walter’s Auto because my wife’s car battery died at a gas station. One of their employees happened to be there and brought his equipment over to jump start her car.We took our vehicle there because it didn’t have heat in the car. We had been told we needed to replace the heater core and/or the engine had cracked head gaskets. After talking to David he was confident it was a simple issue before he ever saw the car. We took it in and he had it fixed the next day. He literally saved us thousands of dollars. He was very friendly and helpful. We will be taking our vehicles here from now on.

It’s hard to find a service you can trust these days but this is one of them. Dave, the general manager, is absolutely amazing, not only does he understand the business, but is honest, friendly, helpful and makes the process a breeze. Couldn’t be happier.

I had a very good experience with a high mileage Toyota Camry that needed a lot of TLC. I feel they were very honest about what needed to be fixed and what was still OK as is. I will never take my car anywhere else! My first experience with Walters Auto Service has been great. Dave is a great guy with fair pricing, timely repairs, great service, and truly goes above and beyond. I took my car in on Tuesday at 8:30 for a catalytic converter problem, and they found two other things wrong with the vehicle. Although three things needed to be repaired, the car was still ready to be picked up on Wednesday by 2. I am so grateful for Walters Auto Service.

My car broke down 1 1/2 hours away from home. I found Walters Auto Service, especially Service Manager, David McGruder, Jr., to be very professional yet friendly. He diagnosed my problem quickly even though they were very busy. They went out of their way to help me. And, it was by far the cleanest mechanic shop I have ever been in.

Nothing but amazing things to say about the company. My car went through many issues in a short span of time and while others in the area were hard to deal with, Dave got me in immediately. As a college student, I was given the courtesy and professionalism that many in the area seem to lack. Would highly recommend to anyone and they have gained a loyal customer! Thanks guys.

I love this place. Clean, tidy, professional. They are always helpful and answer any of my questions. They have worked around my work schedule, which can be difficult sometimes. They do their work quickly and always give me a full rundown of what was done and what they suggest. Reasonable prices. Had Tuffy do an estimate and then went here and got a much lower estimate. I would completely suggest this place.

This place is a gem, but I suspect that people know this already, as I had to schedule my service over a week in advance. The people here were very professional, knowledgeable, and their service was quite reasonably priced. They did our service for the price and time they quoted.

Accurate diagnosis and affordable car care! I was one of those who fixed his own car when I had my first job back in the days, so I want to understand the technical issues and practical car aspect. Dave the Manager has proven to be knowledgeable with accurate diagnoses.Months after relocating from the N.E., I am happy to have found a car garage after checking a couple of other locations including the dealer. Not only did the reviews get my attentions in the first place, but at the end of the day, the prices are most reasonable.

I have been going to Walters Auto Service for 3 years now. Over that time they have provided the best service I have ever received on my vehicle. I had been having issues on my vehicle for a couple months and finding the issue proved to be difficult and Walters never gave up and never charged me for things I didn’t need. They are always thorough. They are honest and never do anything to the vehicle without permission. They let you know if there is something to keep an eye if something is starting to wear down. I trust Walters more than any other place. You can tell from the moment you walk in the door that they care and value their customers and want you to feel comfortable and at home.

Dave was very honest about everything wrong with my car, including whats not worth fixing, or what wasnt necessary to fix right away. I wasnt able to do the work and he still took care of the diagnostic cost and didnt pressure me into spending unnecessary money! Hands down best mechanic shop Ive ever been to!

Fantastic company. No BS auto service. David is great. Having to deal with car maintenance is generally a bad experience. Nobody wants to go to the mechanic. David changes that by having compassion for the customer. He works to find ways to get the job done correctly and cheaply. I have done business with them several times, and will continue to do so.

Ive taken both my cars to this shop since it opened. A couple of trips have resulted in surprises, none of which were the fault of the shop or its repairs. They are always willing to work out labor charges even though the escalated repairs were not their fault.A good example: We had the rotors and pads replaced on our Chrysler town and country (08). When we got the vehicle home, we noticed coolant was leaking. Sure enough, a hose housing was leaking. The part is unfortunately made of plastic and well known to fail. Its positioned behind the motor, nowhere near the pads and rotors. The shop replaced the part and worked with us on labor charges in very short order.Very customer oriented and very quick. Highly recommended.

I have never written a review for any company or service before, but after the experience I had with Walter’s Automotive, how can I not.Dave, Thank you for renewing my faith that there are still good an honest people in this world. After hearing a terrible grinding noise coming from the rear of my son’s (WMU Student) 1997 Toyota Avalon, you examined the car, located the problem, and repaired it all within 30 minutes.Having piece of mind that the car is repaired is priceless and it shows the quality of attention you give to your customers. Best AutoShop in Kzoo

2006 GMC Sierra 2500HD with severe electrical issues. I had it at two other shops with no luck. Daves team was able to troubleshoot and repair quickly and affordably. I have worked for dealerships in Michigan, Manhattan NY, and New Jersey. These guys know how to treat their customers with respect.I am very happy with Dave and the team.

Had to give these guys a good review, Dave was awesome in working with me and being honest and fair, I have not dealt with many auto shops like this as they are definitely rare to find. They worked with me to find a problem that I have been looking for and scratching my head on for months and he was very informative and helpful every step of the way. He was sure not to charge me anything before running it by me first and was very fair in what he did charge. I definitely recommend this place for any problem you might have with your vehicle.

The mechanics here are great and know what they are doing but they dont know how to prioritize at all. I had my car towed here after It wouldnt even turn over but had battery. It took over a week for them to even pull my car into a bay to get it even looked at. They werent on top of getting back to you at all. I asked them after a full week of them having my car to call me with an update(whether or not they were able to get to it yet or not) and I got no reply at all. Overall they are great but need to fix their customer relations badly

I recently had my breaks replaced at Walters. After a minor hiccup, I cannot beging to express how happy I am with the service that I received both from Dave (the service manager) and Doug (owner). They both went above and beyond to make sure that the issue I had was completely resolved and that I was beyond satisfied with the service that I received. I cannot say enough good things about Walters Auto Service and Walters Auto sales. I would recommend them to anyone.

Probably the best mechanic in Kalamazoo area. The facility is very clean, Dave and his mechanics do a great work at a reasonable price and wont rip you off. Definitely coming back again.

Walters Auto Service is a place my Father and Grandfather would have done business. They are Honest, Trustworthy and the most helpful people I ever met in the Auto Service business. The waiting area is comfortable and clean with some nice amenities (coffee, tv and magazines).

The mechanics are wonderful and gave an honest diagnostic of my car. I also got a ride to my college class at WMU (that I had an exam in minutes after my car broke down) from one of the workers, which was wonderful and extremely kind! I definitely recommend this shop and its wonderful employees!

Went in with a brake job today and was taken care by David and his amazing team! After being bamboozled by another shop and a shady one, David was honest and very very reasonable with me being a college student and understanding people are human with issues! Im not from around here, and in a crisis mode on a Friday after 4 was trying to scramble for someone to take a look at my brake caliper which was falling off and grinding my tire rim. I pull into the lot 15 minutes before Walters is set to close for the weekend, and they took my van back right away to fix. Turns out it was only a bolt that had gone missing from my previous brake repairs gone wrong. I was back on the road again by the time 5 pm rolled around. They were very kind and understanding of my urgent situation as I was scheduled to return home the next day, which is a 250 mile drive from Kalamazoo. Thank you David and crew!

Fast oil change, in and out in less than an hour without an appointment. I had an issue with my car and the tech took the time to show me what was going on and explained best course of action and my options. Very happy!!
