Absolutely love Earth Fare; so glad its back in Johnson City! They have a great selection, the quality of the produce is excellent, and the bulk section is so convenient. The employees are the friendliest and most helpful of any grocery store Ive ever been to, and its so easy to make healthy choices. Im very grateful to have this store in town!

Very recently I was at the Earth Fare in Johnson City to shop for the BOGO blueberry sale.I had a pint of blueberries open on me and over half of the carton spilt onto the floor. They scattered like marbles. I picked up what I could and placed them into my shopping basket.I informed the employee (who works produce) what had happened. He just stared at me …. and after an awkward pause picks the berries off the floor and places all of them into the original carton. He hands the carton back to me as if nothing happened and says -“They needed to be rinsed off anyways”At this point I’m grossed out.I take the carton of blueberries that spilled on the floor to the front and and explained what happened to the employee at the register. She was empathetic and apologized for her employee’s conduct.I really hope that this location will work on implementing a more customer focused atmosphere in the produce department.

I applaud their adherence to a mandate that is helping to keep us ALL alive longer. Anyone with any sense cannot think that the entire world is in on a conspiracy. There is a horrible devastating virus going on on our entire planet, so, Thank You Earth Fare for both caring about those of us intelligent enough to wear masks for both our OWN safety and for the care of other peoples safety. Also, Thank You for providing quality food at a fair price.

Earth Fare has recently opened again and although it didnt appear fully stocked yet, I was so happy to see that the self serve bulk herbs in jars are back, and they have Bach Flower Essences again - both of which had disappeared before they had closed. My previous review, right after renovation but before bankruptcy closure, reflected my disappointment in the changes they had made. Maybe customer feedback resulted in the restoration of some of the things for which Earth Fare was known and loved. Thank you, Earth Fare!

Everything is overpriced and employees are not very helpful. Rude employee forcing people to wear mask. They will not have my business. I will never go back again. Funny thing is that place is so empty with empty parking lot and they act like they are superior than their customers. That place wont be in business long. I will be happy to see that place go. Mandating a mask to enter a store is a violation of my civil liberties. I shopped at Earth Fare today completely unmasked until right before check when I was confronted and ask if I had a mask. I replied that I choose not to wear a mask. The staff replied it was a requirement to be in the store. I replied I will leave. I checked out and the same staff approached the man checking me out to tell him to keep a better eye on the front door as she glared at me. I will not be returning to Earth Fare nor will I recommend the store.

After a long awaited period of excitement for Earth Fare to reopen, we were devastated to be shunned at the door for simply not wishing to wear a face covering. “People like you can just use Instacart, then.” Not all of us can afford that luxury... Ashamed of our favorite store for bending to the will of corrupt government officials, and of the sheer and unabashed judgement from the people at the door.

I love this store. Great place to buy organic / non-gmo / natural products. The produce section is beautiful and has a wide selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs. I found items here that I havent seen in traditional grocery stores in this area. Some prices are a bit high, but if you pay attention to sales, its not that bad. They use paper, not plastic bags, if you happen to forget your reusables at home. This location does have a small cafe in it which serves fresh juices, smoothies, and more. I enjoyed the service overall in this store.

Returned back to this U.S. Region after 20-30 yrs. of being away and was happy to see this establishment which is similar to some degree to my favorite health market The Whole Foods Market up north my birth region. The factor I ABSOLUTELY BELIEVE is MOST GRACIOUS about such retail establishments as EARTH FARE is THE CAPABILITY TO FIND HEALTHIER FOOD CHOICES that dont raise your MEDICAL BILLS SKY HIGH! Earthfare is now closing this location and shouldnt. The people need to fight for those retailers that are trying to save their lives by providing healthier food choices than money-grubbing retailer-grocery chains who are just concerned with profits not your health.

I used to really like this place for lunch, but after the remodel they removed their reusable plates and utensils from the buffet. What kind of place calls itself Earth Fare, and only has single use plates and utensils? When I asked a cashier about it, she just shrugged and said the reusable stuff vanished after the remodel. If Im throwing everything away anyway, Ill just go somewhere cheaper for lunch. After all, Barberitos is on the same plaza.

Love, love, love this healthy food market. They have everything you want in both fresh produce, packaged, bulk, and prepared healthy choices. They even have non-dairy desserts that taste AWESOME, as well as vegan freshly prepared deli items. I cant wait to go back for dessert! They have the only filtered water machine that Ive seen in a store, that has an option for alkaline water. You can bring your own container or purchase a container - either plastic or glass, in the store. Staff is friendly, I think they have a frequent buyer program also, just use your phone number. They also have daily/weekly specials that youll want to check out. I like that its small but a good selection, not overpriced like WF, and yet they have many specialty items that may be difficult to find. The staff could also order items if its not in the store.

Two problems in 1 brief trip lights up a caution sign for me: the soup I got off the hot soup bar for lunch was straight-out-of-the-can cool. When I mentioned it, their response was to recognize the power was off and heat the soup. Unless they are confident that it wasn’t out there long, I vote for throwing it away and restarting! As I was opening the candy bar I purchased, I saw the 2018 date on it! This is Sept of 2019. I like how pleasant the new flooring and produce remodel is. I miss the variety of the cheese offerings. What will prevent my quick return, however, is my lack of confidence that the food is maintained safely.

Earth Fare had a grand re-opening and I know they cant bring the old Earth Fare back but the new one has lost me. It feels so flat, cold, clinical and impersonal. The atmosphere used to be so comfortable but now I want to leave ASAP. I have been excited to shop in your store after the remodel since I started a very restricted diet. Your store is one of the few that sells items to meet that diet. Tonight my husband ran out to your store to pick up my favorite treat. He arrived at the store at 9:47pm, 13 minutes before you close. As he was getting out of the car a female employee locked the doors. Because he felt so disrespected he left and went to Kroger across the street. He found the items there, at a lower price, along with several other food items that we assumed your store sold exclusively. Thank you for giving me a reason to never shop in your store and experience your rude employees and grey meat that we all put up with out of assumed necessity.

The hot bar is my go-to for healthy meals. Where else can you get a wholesome salmon dinner for under $10? Indian food night is a favorite. 1/2 off soups / specials on pizza by the slice on Tuesdays. I would NEVER recommend shopping at EarthFare to ANY of my family or friends! Everything is in small amounts, overpriced, and employees are rude, unhelpful, and have bad attitudes. The lines are not usually long, but even 2-4 people in a line will be moving at a snails pace due to slow cashiers. Terry Vail, the manager, is a vile human being and Ive personally seen him yell at and scold his employees IN FRONT OF customers. Save your money and go down the road a few miles to the Natural Foods Market where I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!

He said the original price was printed wrong and that was it. No apology at all.Never mind the fact I called and was quoted the lower price earlier in the day. We were buying several pounds so it was a significant difference.Awful experience with two team members. They are too many options to buy groceries or eat dinner to put up with poor attitudes.

Earth Fare has gone downhill since it was sold off to a bunch of know-nothing capitalists. What used to be reasonably priced is now overpriced. Also, the staff are not nearly as friendly or knowledgeable as they were in the first couple of years. When a competitor moved in a half mile away, I mentioned to an Earth Fare manager that their prices were on average 40 cents lower than Earth Fares and their produce and meat department was much better, she told me theyre not competing with that store. Well, they certainly arent offering that store any competition, and Earth Fare has lost most of my business to the other store. I think I just buy organic lemon juice there anymore.

This is a poorly managed EarthFare.I have lived in two other cities with EarthFares, and have always had generally positive experiences, but this one is bad.Staff is lethargic, usually only one check out line open. Ive stood at the deli case for minutes on end waiting for someone to show up.I really dont care if theyre friendly/outgoing, as long as they can do their job efficiently, which has not been the case in my experiences at this store.Meat is not fresh. Their beef USE to be good until it started coming from overseas, one thing after another and they went from being the major source of my families food to not even going there for 3 months at a time LOL... Aldis, Walmart, Grocery Outlet, Food City, and Priceless all get more of my business anymore. At first earth rot as we call it was trying to put on a good health front, but anymore they sell loads of straight up OBVIOUS unhealthy goods when trying to put up an otherwise front.Loud annoying music, overall just annoying place to have to shop.EDIT 2-4-20, Looks like Im not the only one that lost interest in earth rot, come the end of this month they will close down all their stores.

Great concept but not quite like the store they emulate: Whole Foods Market chain who is superior in this industry. Earth fare has a lot to get done if they ever expect to even achieve that status. But apparently management cares less and is content to offer so-so services to its customers who are also content to accept so-so services. Finally installed a buffet but it lacks protection from elements in airspace so take your own chances with flu germs floating around. Be best if served by personnel behind protected glass (+ adds jobs for local college kids & youth). Store carries usual organic brands + some typical non-organic grocer - retail brands for some odd reason! Juice Bar hardly does any consistent business now so I hope management recognizes that flaw and institutes another viable option in that corner. BANE OF NUMEROUS PEOPLE - Prices of Organic Foods: Moderate-to-High / $$ - $$$ dependent totally on HOW you shop! KEY to affordability with organic foods is to buy 1st) For healing purposes primarily (not just for quantity). That being said, 2nd) Ask staff to wrap exact amount YOU want IF....IF you do not desire whole amount offered or pre-packaged (meats, seafood, cheese blocks, etc.). Staff will cut what you need and weigh & price it and VOILA! LOWER PRICE! The remainder of original package is then repacked and re-priced as well. That is how to afford FRESH MEATS & certain PRE-PACKED organic foods. It is always a great buy to purchase PLENTY organic veggies & fruits which have NO PESTICIDES, right. At Earthfare just forego the more expensive pre-packaged veggies & fruits (no matter how delicious they look, LOL! ). Heck, you can chop & containerize your own, right! And pay yourself the extra $ on another item somewhere else, LOL.😉But eating organic is not simply a matter of price. Its simply a reality question or two. HOW HEALTHY DO YOU WANT TO BE / NEED TO BE?HOW LONG DO YOU DESIRE TO BE AROUND FOR LOVED ONES & DEAREST FRIENDS?HOW MUCH DO YOU DISLIKE PAIN FROM DISEASE &/OR ILLNESS?Truthfully answer that and you have no darn good reason not to shop for organic food......and still control how much you spend.....while achieving your best health possible so that grandkid or child or elderly parent is still there for you to get plenty more awesome hugs & smiles!OODLES!SINCERELY & WITH CARING REGARDS FOR YOU & YOURS!See u at Earthfare I hope! The Lady with the Flaming Orange Purse! Orange is the New Black! (Uh, something to do with a tv show, well, eh! SHRUG! LOL!)
