If you LOVE mangoes, then this is your paradise. The mangoes here taste absolutely fresh and are so delicious on a hot summer day (too bad it was kinda windy when we came).Place also seems super popular, with a line coming up right to the door. The service was good, but our desserts took a while to come out, though thats expected since theyre super busy. The decor is really nice, modern and urban and also really clean. However, the place is small which means lack of space to sit inside. However, theres loads of tables and chairs right outside, so there isnt much of an issue there. As for price, fairly decent pricing for what you get, but we also got the Jumbo Mango Sago which is good to share if you dont eat much. Id definitely come again if its hot out.
If youre a sucker for mangos, I highly recommend coming here! They use Philippine Luzon mangos, which are sweet and vibrant. A flavor you can taste in their desserts and beverages. As a first timer here, my friend suggested a few favorites, but the menu does list a few popular items. Ordering was super simple as the order kiosk is self serviced. The table had a matching hard copy menu to reference the digital selections, which were prefixed with letters to help locate the subcategories:A - Handmade MangoC - Handmade SnacksE - Premium PorridgeJ - Handmade FruitK - Fresh Fruit SwirlS - Special Durian DrinksI ordered 2 C2 (Mango Pudding), A8 (Mango Sago) and K2 (Strawberry Swirl), which amounted to about $20ish for four items. The strawberry swirl is 22oz and is ice blended with real strawberries! The drink is rich, fruity and super refreshing. My boyfriends love mango pudding and he wasted no time as soon as I brought them home. The pudding is laced with mango fruit chunks and the cream/milk is served on the side. We think it personally tastes best as is.Im intrigued by their Durian menu (I love durian) and will most likely return to try their pancakes/mochi snacks.
As a customer, Im looking for value, cleanliness and service. Hui Lau Shan I was not able to get backstory on. Google Maps shows a chain lightly sprinkled from Los Angeles down to Orange County. We visited this Irvine location. After spicy tacos we were looking for a cool desert. Donuts and Starbucks were around. But the donut seemed too sweet, the Starbucks, pricey. HLS has custom assembled deserts centered around mango. Enter this store and see the A line offerings of mango with different complimentary ingredients. We had, A7 I believe a dish two people could share. Included was a bowl layered; black rice, 1/2 coconut milk and 1/2 mango puree, the diced mango. Presentation is superb but the light natural sweetness of all the ingredients was really a nice experience. There was also Durian pancake. A square shaped green thin almost crepe pancake. Filling was light creme fresh and Durian puree. My first time having Durian it did have a slight foretaste unique to Durian not unpleasant. Then the texture of the cream and fibrous apple sauce like Durian. An interesting desert. !!! They have seasonal dragon fruit drink in house now (11-2021). There are other parfiet like drinks available Palmetto for example. Pricing was reasonable around 25$ for two to share two deserts. We will be back to continue the light desert adventure. Last. Id mention two staff people were very helpful and knowledgeable about the deserts and ingredients.
Refreshing and delicious mango desserts. For our first time, we were quite impressed even though it was freezing outside. These desserts are best suited when its nice and hot outside. We got a couple different ones that were mixed: coconut and mango & mango w boba... But imo the best one was regular mango sago. Would come back to try something else.
Awesome jellies and mochi. Love the mango 🤩
Fresh fruit especially mango. Lot of mango. But too slow
Would be 10/10 if Emma Laguna still worked there, still some good mango fruity stuff.
Good old days desert! Exactly the same flavor when I had it 15 years ago.
Apparently children can run into the restaurant and save seats for people standing in line so that thats no space for customers who already have their food. Management is unwilling to enforce order with rude customers. Food is pretty good, but definitely not worth the wait or service. If you want to try it, come during an off-time or wait a few months for the hype to die down.
Mango chewy ball, mango mochi and taro glutinous rice was sooooo good! Highly recommend!
Went here on a Saturday evening and the line was out the door. So stopped by on a weekday afternoon and there was no line. Ordered the A1 and D4 to go. The A1 is the most popular one, consists of thin mango purée with mango pudding, fresh mango chunks, and these flavorless starchy white balls. The D4 was their version of mango and coconut milk with sago. Both items were average, nothing life changing. I’ve honestly had better but wanted to give it a shot cuz of the hype. If I came back again, and there’s a line, I would probably go elsewhere.
Customer service was great! Mango romance and the drink were ok
First time to this place and I was impressed! I dont get out much these days so the self- service kiosk was tricky. I just picked some things randomly from the popular menu since theres no one there to ask questions. Mango pomelo sago and mango coconut aloe drink were delicious! Not a fan of mango chewy balls, but I also dont like boba. I like durian so tried durian pancake, but odor wasnt strong, so I think the durian wasnt fresh. And its not really a pancake, but more like a wrapped cream puff. Overall very neat dessert place..will be back for more mangoes!
Refreshing and delicious mango desserts! I try to go here on off times so that the line wont be too long. I think the place is good but I dont think its worth it to wait in such a long line. The place is very small and have very limited inside seating. They have tables outside as well but if you prefer to sit inside its almost impossible.
We love everything about mango so we love this place. A delight dessert spot in Irvine for sweet tooth like me. They offer different options but they contain mostly mango with sago and pomelo on top. Also comes with a mango ice cream in the middle and coconut milk cream. They mostly vary in sizes. In addition, try their creme crepe if you’re a fan. It is whip cream and mango covered by a soft thin crepe outside. They also have drinks that look cute and taste yummy. The only downsize is a little pricey for the dessert portion. But the quality is good!
Favorite Hong Kong Mango dessert shop. Need one in North OC.
Its hyped too much, the mango is bland tasteless. The mango coconut has no taste its just water with food coloring, the coconut is rubbery. My cars tire has more taste and more texture, the mango pancake is a joke. Idk where to begin with, I drove a hour out to try this and it was a disappointment. Not worth a penny, save ur money and go to the McDonalds in front the mango there tastes more a million times BETTER. DONT COME HERE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME
Include straws with drinks....the person who prepare it dont include basic straws how do you expect us to drink or eat it?
Yum! Mango lovers paradise! If you dont want to have generic desserts and are in the mood for something new, sweet, fresh, yet not numbingly sugary, tis your place!Tried the pomelo and mango combo, good portions and great flavors! Theres a parking lot in the front. Entrace does not have easy access ♿.
Worst attitude ever
Pho king amazing!!!
I recommend Jumbo Chewy Mango the most. Fresh Mango, Mango Flan, and Mango Ice cream in a bowl what else could I ask for ❤ little romance was not tasty in my opinion though. Mango pancakes were too sweet for me. Great customer service, will be back soon! ❤
It was a fun experience going to this restaurant. The mango pudding and mochi was okay. There were no more chewy balls, so I was disappointed and could not try the mango chewy ball. I ordered the mango delightful trio, and enjoyed it a little bit. Not really worth the wait and there was barely any indoor seating. Also sort of pricey, but the presentation was great.
Just okay. Got take out dessert. Not bad
Upon watching a video about a store front opening close to me I decided to give this place a try, being a mango fan myself I had high expectations for this Hong Kong staple which mostly serves mango deserts which is their speciality. My expectations were met and my mind was blown away with how great their deserts were! The mango sweetness was just at the perfect point and wasn’t masked with extra sugar. One thing I also liked was that the mango was the star of each dish and wasn’t overpowered with a fake mango taste. If you love mango you should totally give this place a try.
Finally here 😊 Glad they opened up here. Brings me back memories of Hong Kong. I just wonder how they will get mangoes during the winter here 😳 No shortage of mangoes during spring and summer but winter is another story. I am a big fan of this dessert shop in Hong Kong. In line now to give this place a try 😊 The mangoes in the mango pancakes were not sweet and now is still mango season. They need to pick out the good mangoes from the LA fruit market. Can’t cut cost buying cheaper mangoes 😛 Important to know your mangoes during the seasons and order the right mangoes.
The mangos are sweet and it tastes great. I wouldn’t think so much of any ice cream put inside the desserts. I’ve had better ice cream
Mangoes, mangoes, and more mangoes. I had to try this place out and it did not disappoint. I was surprised at the large portions, and how many different ways you can have mango. Definitely recommend going!
I will come here every other day!The team here at HLS is fantastic. Josh, Chloe, Jessica, Alex, Michelle, Luke, Kyle, Albert, Winky, Kylie, Ana, Mark, and everyone else have been so nice and patient. They explain what is popular and what everything tastes like.My all time favorites are The mango chewy ball and mango passion fruit drink. They are out of this world AMAZING!!!I bring all my friends here and order them the same thing. They all love the mango passion fruit drink. When you order any of the bowls, always order a side of chewy balls. Makes it al perfect!
This spot is fire. Drinks and desserts are super tasty and not excessively sweet. Will be back again and again and again!
It was pretty good, Im not sure Id normally line up to eat here but the fruit was fresh and the service was solid. I would say the stores in HK taste better but not the gap isnt big.
If u love mango, this IS ur place. I didnt find it AWESOME, but it was good. I liked the small mochi n durian pancake. The pancake is really like a very soft fluffy pillow of cream n durian or mango. Very nice, not too sweet but just right. Everything a little pricey, stuff I can get at Pheonix Bakery or an Asian bakery. Good but a little over priced. Worth to experience at least once. Oh and open from 3pm to 10pm. (Why?)
I liked this place. I used to go to Hui Lau Shan all the time in Hong Kong. Place is packed but the lines should be shorter over time.
Its a mango delight!!! Apparently its original Hong Kong recipe! its rather new so its just a soft opening right now but theres always a line! Dont worry the line goes by pretty fast!We got the pomelo and mango with sago jumbo size which can be shared between 4 people after dinner dessert. One side was the sago which was cold and the other side was hot mango slush in the middle was mango ice cream. Eat as is or mix it up!The durian black glutinous rice was very small in portion for being almost $7!There was only a very small amount of durian in the middle. Didnt think it was worth $7 for the amount of food..barely enough for 1 person dessertBut Im going to be coming backFor their drinks esp the dragonfruit icy
Mango heaven. Must go if you love mango. Slightly sour but probably because it isnt mango season right now.
Great dessert place. Variety of Mango dishes. Worth the wait in long lines.
This is the real Hui Lau Shan which is an old school shaved ice store from Hong Kong. Its very famous in Asia.Price is good, and taste exactly like what I had in HK.They just started running this store, so its super busy in weekend. Ready to wait? Lol
Lots of great mango based desert options, that arent excessively sweet. The lines outside can get long though!
The bomb. If you like Mangoes this is your place.
We got the mango chewy ball and pomelo and mango sago. Both dishes were great. The mango chewy ball is extremely mangoy with the mango pieces, mango ice cream, and mango slush. The chewy tapioca balls give it a great touch. The pomelo and mango sago has a mix of coconut milk slush and mango slush with pieces of pomelo, mango, and sago in top. Theres also a scoop of mango ice cream. The coconut milk slush pairs great with everything and makes the pomelo sweeter. Definitely recommend coming here when you have a chance.Just as a side note, the place is small so tables are limited. You can always eat at the tables outside though.
Always love this place, mango deserts are delicious and fresh.
Everything ....every single item is really tasty.....
Good food, a little pricey. Long lines.
If you like mango, go for it.
Love the mango smoothie
We like it
Good stuff
So good
The music in the store is extremely noisy. According to the pick-up time, I still stood and waited for fifteen minutes. The clerk was in a hurry...Things are delicious
For the second time, Duomang Xiaowanzi has no balls.
Before we came, we first looked at the recommended desserts. The first place in the Irvine is the Doman small balls, but the Yang Zhijin fishing on the left hand side of the store is too tempting! It seems to be rich in materials, in the middle is a large group of mango ice cream, surrounded by mango pulp, milk, etc., decisively chose this.We are going to have dessert after dinner. It is more appropriate for them to eat one. In fact, the taste of this dessert is very rich. There are also broken grapefruit flesh, slightly bitter, and at the same time neutralize the sweet feeling, mind the friend. Be careful.
I drove a long distance to eat Xu Liushan, ordered a durian pancake, mango pancake, I feel that the supermarket uses the kind of poor cream plus a little fruit in it, it is very muddled. And I feel that the temperature of the freezer is not enough, and the snacks have become normal temperature.
It’s really normal, mangoes are especially sour, especially not very special... and the seats are super small, there are a lot of people waiting in line... it’s better to go next door and drink
Can eat
