We ordered the Earl Grey Lavender with chocolate sauce, the gelato is firm enough to not melt easily outside, but also soft/ mint enough to melt in your mouth. The taste is also quite distinct and truthful to the flavor we chose. They have 3 options: cup, cone, and waffle, and we go with cup to enjoy it comfortably in my car
Don’t get me wrong, the ice cream is amazing. However, they are ALWAYS closed. Even when their adjusted hours indicate that they will be open, their doors are locked. I’ve tried stopping by 5 times in the last month during their adjusted business hours… closed every time. Maybe they don’t like money? I don’t know. All I know is that I won’t be giving this place another chance.
I agree with some of the other reviewers, the owner needs to keep their hours up-to-date. Was trying to redeem my birthday gift and went on an empty trip. Door just has a sign saying sorry but we will be open next weekend. Well, change the freaking time on Google or Yelp then. People dont have time to just drive by and check. Phone ahead doesnt always work either, voicemail doesnt say anything about closure.
Ice cream is really good…when they’re open. I’ve tried coming here about 6 times and they’ve been open 2. There’s always a “we will be back next weekend” sign on the door. It also said their hours are tentative and depend on traffic for the night. I frankly think that’s a really dumb way to run things- no one is coming because no one thinks you’re open because you have hours online that are contrary to what’s in practice. Please make your hours more clear.
Planning ahead to an evening Ice cream treat, I found Cauldron Ice Cream online and we set out after dinner. We had no idea that theyd be crafting the ice cream in front of us using liquid nitrogen while we waited, very cool. Great flavors in all the ice creams we had, quick service, and very nice employees. This is definitely on my list of favorite spots next time im in the area.
Maybe if they updated their hours people wouldn’t drive a half-way across town just to be disappointed because they started closing earlier.Said they’re open until 10 on Tuesdays and they were closed at 9:37.
Agree with everyone else here. Impossible to get any ice cream here. Pretty much always closed even if google says they are open. Phone number only has a voicemail and door has a vague sign with no dates or hours. There is no notice anywhere on their official website about this either. Complete waste of time and whoever owns this place should not run a busines.
To be fair ahead of time we didnt even get to try the ice cream...We checked closing time on Google before going. We walked up to a line of one party in front of us and one inside, due to only one party allowed in at a time. Good sign, I like it but it ends there. Immediately we are told the party in front t of us is the last party they are helping today. It was 8:45pm, closing time on Google and posted was 10:00pm. 🤷🏽♀️ Lazy team members, outdated Google information, or just very poor guest service? Either way its disappointing.
So simple and delicious. Best ice-cream ever
Closed. No sign/notice stating why. Nothing on their social media either. Google maps says they’re supposed to be open. Super annoyed because I had planned a day trip up here from SD specifically to come here and after an hour and a half drive due to a traffic jam, we walk up and find the lights off and door locked and I had to break the news to my disappointed 8-year-old that was already hyped up. 😒 Read other reviews and I guess they just close whenever they feel like it? It’s sad because as I was standing there in front of their shop trying to console my my kid by searching my phone for another dessert place nearby, I saw at least three other potential customers walk up and try to open the locked doors. Terrible business practices.
Overpriced. Overpriced af. Replaced Basken Robbins, which is a sin beyond measure. Go somewhere else.
This is definitely my favorite ice cream place ever. But what holds this place back so much is how little they want customers. Ever since the pandemic started i have seen tons of people try and get in or place an order only to see they have locked their doors. The sign they have out on the door says the days they are open is not correct, as i have gone by multiple times since i live right next door on designated days and they are closed. I really wish this place would let me give them my money but it almost feels like they hate having customers. Nothing is more infuriating then having friends together ready to go out for ice cream only to see they are still closed even if the sign says they are open today. Sadly, i cannot see this place staying open for much longer from how little it seems they want business.
Now that Creamistry & Scoops Scoops do not appear to offer made-to-order-right-there-on-the-spot with nitrogen ice cream any more, Cauldron now offers it. The flavors are unique and tasty enough, but you have to try the wuffle(?) cones. These are NOT your garden variety waffle cones. These are fresh made waffles from mochi or churro batter, all hot and yummy. The warm waffle cone contrasts wonderfully with the cold ice-cream. Just be sure to brush your teeth as soon as you polish off the ice-cream and the cone, then hit the gym to burn off the calories! But trust me, its worth it.
This location appears to possibly be closed? this is the second time Ive come by with no one inside and doors locked when they are supposed to be open
Cauldron Ice Cream serves some of the best if not the best ice cream and according to our guide, it has been run by the same family from the beginning. Love this place a must to visit if you are in Irivin.
I dont like ice cream but I am a simp for the tea flavors and puff waffle here. Sun Moon and Stars is great if you like a less sweet, creamy tea flavor. This location has indoor and outdoor seating.
The ice cream is awesome. The decor is interesting. The fact that it is 100 years old is intriguing. Yum, just yum!
Rich and creamy. Great selection of unique flavors. We had lavender earl grey and Sun, star, and Moon....a melange of tea flavors. Both excellent. Kids enjoyed watching the ice cream being made right before their eyes with liquid Nitrogen.
First the music was way too loud. So loud that the staff didnt hear us coming in. My kid had two hand over the ears at this point to cover the noise. A staff was actually working on the machines or whatever under the counter and she didnt see us nor heard us coming in until me and my kid had to speak super loud to hear each other. Instead of greeting us she shouted (since the music was super loud) for another staff in the back to come serve us. Even if you are busy you can at least acknowledge me and tell me that someone will be out in a min to take my order. The other came out, no smile. Well no smile no tips. I asked to lower the music, they did, then the volume went back up. We wanted to take it easy in this hot weather but we just hurried to eat to get out. Even the 2 staff had to pretty much shout to each other to talk. That pretty much ruins the whole experience. The ice cream is fine. Another customer came in after while the staff was preparing my order, same thing, he didnt acknowledge the lady nor say hi for a good 2 min. No smile either. Not going back not recommending this place, there are other places that serve the same type of ice cream that does a better job at customer service.
Cauldron is a place for ice cream with unique and trendy flavors, and my personal favorites are the sun moon stars and honey lavender !Sun moon stars has a sort of milk tea taste(?) with a hint of earl gray and the sprinkles add nice texture. I think its a bit hard to describe the exact flavor but if you like milk tea, I think youll like thisHoney lavender tastes so much like lavender I was shocked. Its not that fake bad quality lavender syrup but the flavor was strong but not overpoweringPros: ice cream is delicious and creamy, flavors are unique and you wont really find them anywhere, aesthetic pictures, and good place to go if you want some refreshing creamy ice cream in the hot Cali weatherCons: a bit overpriced for ice cream in my opinion..? But sometimes 2 people can share one
Nice place. Great ice cream. They use liquid nitrogen to make ice cream. They have standard flavors like vanilla and chocolate, but also different flavors like earl grey tea or rose water. The also have plenty if mixins. Its a fun place to go to get the smoothest ice cream and watch it being made
Liquid nitrogen blasted with a tasty--rich--creaminess. This is your location for high quality ice cream!
It was my first time visiting Cauldron ice cream. Great atmosphere, love the trendy look they’re going for but i didn’t enjoy my ice cream but my friends had a different opinion. Great place to hang out I recommend it!
The flavors are amazing! The ice cream is definitely creamy! The puffle cone is like a delicious waffle!
Really nice ice cream store. The ice cream is made in the store and there is a nice atmosphere.
First time there today. All 6 of us had different flavors and presentationsEveryone enjoyed. Simple ice cream store except for the freezingOnly tables are outside.
I got earl tea lavender and it’s gooood. Nice and refreshing. It’s not too sweet, and is a nice floral tea flavor. Ask for the rose shape!
Love their menu, its not overloaded with dozens of choices and tastes delicious as well.
Ice cream is ok. We tried the puffel cone also which is like a waffle. This is a made to order place where they use liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream and make it after you order. The staff is friendly and the service is good but it takes time 5 make the ice cream. It is expensive. We got one scoop in a cone and one small bowl and it was $13.
Very good ice cream. I love the rose flavor.I am glad they opened near by.
This place is temporary close!!!
I ordered smore on cup and vietnamese coffee on puffle. I love puffle so much. It reminds me that I ate walnut snack (호두과자) in korea without walnut. It is so smooth and tender. I also like coffee icecream. Smore is not my type. I love here.
We where in there for 5 minutes was never greeted was not able to order anything since they came out talking to each other but never said hi or welcome or how can we help it was like 4 teenage kids working there 😡 very bad customer service to bad because we wanted to try it out
Youve lost my business for going cashless. Dollar bills are legal tender.
Drove 20 minutes due to google saying they were open only to get a closed sign at the door. Dont rely on their hours.
The earl grey lavender was delicious. Great concept
Never Open
Love the ice cream, and clever name. But the environment feels like more of a meth lab.
Yummy for the tummy, guaranteed cure against Covid-19 paranoia =D
This is one of our fave ice cream spots. Love their IG and most of all their craving-ready #puffles and Vietnamese coffee. Whether it’s a visit to reward work accomplishments, an alternative stop to your routine coffee shop for a midday break, a stop to impress visiting family, or to satisfy sweet teeth and / or post meal dessert appetite - #itdoesntlickitself so stop by and indulge!
Local ice cream. Delicious
Just another nice cream shop and not much different.. just hype in my opinion.
Nice people, great location, even better ice cream...it was delish!!
Delicious. Definitely get the puffle!
Really good, a bit expensive but it comes with a nice show.
Cone was interesting, I thought it was different and worth trying the other options. However I was not impressed with the flavors offered.I will have to go again to try other options
Neat place, I had the rose ice cream and can’t wait to go back for more. It was very gourmet.
Liquid nitrogen ice cream also available in egg waffle.
Macaron ice cream sandwhich time.
Im looking for a closer one to me. This one is all the way in Irvine.
Great ice cream!
Milk & Cereal my favorite!
In my opinion the ice cream was subpar, but you should try it out yourself.
Ice cream who would not like it but its just not any ice cream its CAULDRON ICE CREAM
COOL PLACE ..
Update your hours!!
Delicious!
Loved it!
Attention! !delicious! And beware of the free small ice cream with the coupons sent!Because, if you look at the coupon in the bottom image, do you know this is free if you buy one? ? ?This is BOGOBuy One Get OneWhat does that mean?Hey hehe I didnt know!Plus, put your phone number and its free for the first time! When the clerk pushed something, it disappeared. Isnt it strange?Do you spend more than $ 6 on small? So, I took my kids at a special time, but I cant go to a rowing business anymore. Of course, its really delicious, but this is a customer called a coupon.I went to the opening day!Normally delicious. But ice cream is quite expensive (laughs)But I also make ice cream here! The children are overjoyed. The taste is strong, the aftertaste is refreshing, and it is reasonable even if the price is reasonable. The photo is a cup, but the one with ice cream in a roll of waffles is quite delicious. It seems they will give you a discount the second time, but I havent been there yet, maybe because the price is still under the common people? (Lol
