I purchased a Diamond ring several years ago. It’s beautiful and I still enjoy wearing it. The customer service is friendly, professional and efficient. I love that they offer free cleaning anytime for rings you have bought there. I dropped it off late Friday afternoon and got it back the following week on either Tuesday or Wednesday. That was for a full cleaning/refurbished treatment. I even have a ring that I bought elsewhere and Moshe will clean and check it for me along with my other ring. Ive known Moshe for years through work and impressed with how far hes come. When I first met Moshe ((wasnt engaged then so I had no ring), I didnt know how much he knew about jewelry and diamonds. When I got engaged about three years ago, I didnt even know that at first my husband went to see him for my ring. They had sat down together for an appointment and customized my ring. Its not like other jewelry stores that you walk in and pick out your ring. My husband is particular (and I love that!) so a private appointment made him feel really comfortable about the ring he was getting me. They actually looked at each diamond and band and Moshe gave him a nice educational speech about them as well. I didnt get to write a review a couple of years ago but I wanted to especially now because I recently ran into Moshe and he looked at my ring and said that he would like to reset my ring for me JUST BECAUSE he thought he could do it better. But the best part of this business is its owner, Moshe Hakemolo, who gets what being a small-business owner in Hawaii is all about. He truly is a consummate professional who knows how to make each customer feel as comfortable as possible. In my field, I come into contact and interview many business people throughout Hawaii and beyond, and I can see when a business owner truly understands the crucial customer-first approach. Mr. Hakemolo is one of these individuals. I dont usually write Yelp reviews as you can see from my profile but I was compelled to tell everyone out there about this special experience. I originally found Moshe and his business DGH via a simple Google search and after reading other’s amazing reviews on his work and customer service I knew I had to make an appointment to see him! I was interested in taking two pieces left behind to me from my Mother (a ring and a pendant necklace) and combing the stones from each to make one pendant piece. I first explained my thoughts in communication via email and Nicole replied very promptly with helping me to set up an appointment with Moshe. Upon meeting Moshe and presenting my ideas and thoughts, he was so kind and patient and explained to me how he would be able to make the combined pendant. Shortly after, COVID forced the the business to close temporarily as it was not considered an essential business during the peak of the pandemic. Prior to them abruptly closing I was offered the opportunity to pick up my piece but was insured that they would keep everything safe at hand until reopening if I could not make it in. I was totally confident and 100% trusting that they would do so and picked it up shortly after re-opening. I am SO HAPPY with how my piece turned out - it is absolutely beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned! It brought me to tears to see it in front of me and completed! Joanna was so accommodating with helping me to find an appointment that worked with my work schedule and I just want to say overall that DGH and the entire staff has by far exceeded my customer service expectations! I will continue to use Moshe as my personal jeweler for all my future jewelry needs including future engagement where he has taken that same ring left to me by my Mom and added a custom 6 prong head to accommodate a round center diamond! I am incredibly happy with the ring I received which Moshe and I designed together, using my heirloom diamonds that were mined around the 1870’s in Austria/Germany which makes these diamonds old mine cut. I had them on a broach from my Great Great Grandmother and I brought them to Moshe wrapped up in a sock. I’m not joking-I brought the diamonds to Diamond Guy Hawaii in a sock not knowing where to start. All I knew was I wanted to propose to the love of my life and I needed a ring to do that. I have zero experience with jewelry and honestly didn’t know much about the diamonds I brought in. But after Moshe and I looked at them under a super HD magnify-glass we started to come up with ideas on the kind of ring that would best fit these antique diamonds.So in conclusion if you have any of your own gems or stones that you would like to craft into a custom piece of jewelry, Moshe aka The Diamond Guy, is the man to go too. Moshe was very professional and confident in making the band me and my fiancé wanted. He mounted a diamond we bought from Kays Jewelers that was not certified, but ensured us through magnified pictures that it was the same before and after he made the band. He also covered a flaw in my diamond with one of the prongs that holds the diamond, I thought that was very clever. Moshe is trustworthy and gives great advice on what works and doesnt work when designing a ring.

My initial request was a radiant cut diamond eternity band and sent him images of what I was wanted. Through consultation (via email) and a phone conversation where I learned a lot about white gold vs. platinum, we went with an emerald cut eternity band in white gold. We were vacationing in Oahu during the week of Thanksgiving so we had the pleasure of meeting him and picking up my ring. He’s such a cool guy! And very kind and patient because we decided to take to the E bus to our appointment, missed our stop and the bus kept on going… and ended up being 1 ½ hours late to our appointment. About the ring… it’s BEAUTIFUL!!! The setting that he made is so much prettier than the images that I sent him! We loved his personalized service and it feels special knowing that this ring was made specifically for me. I seriously still look at it multiple times a day and admire how pretty it is. My now fiancée did a lot of research online and stumbled upon an Instagram page The Diamond Guy. Being a little hesitant about making such a big purchase based off of an Instagram page I decided to contact Moshe. I am VERY glad I did! I showed him a picture of what she wanted with my price range and diamond preference. What he made was beyond all expectations, it is absolutely beautiful and her dream ring.However, about a month into our engagement the setting came loose (we think it may be due to the ring needing to be adjusted an entire size down) which caused one of the diamonds in the pave setting to be lost. Moshe and his team were quick to get everything back the way it should be in just under 1 business day! He also cleaned and had it polished!If youre looking for amazing quality at a VERY reasonable price Moshe is your guy. He is someone who genuinely cares about his clients and what they want. If you’re into the Pinterest worthy dainty halo engagement ring then LOOK NO FURTHER! Moshe is killing the game!
