I initially stopped by A1 Auto out of convenience because I had been next door getting my car washed, and Ive been going to them for the last two years for everything and anything related to my car because of their service and reliability. Recommend making an appointment with them rather than doing a walk in because they tend to get busy. Space in the parking lot gets a little tight, and sometimes it is hard to reach them on the phone, but keep trying until they pick up! Generally they have been able to resolve everything same day, otherwise, they are flexible and will accommodate to your schedule. I appreciate that they are honest about their assessments, and do their best to explain the diagnosis as simple as possible. Appreciate this crew so much!

Absolutely nothing but good things to say! My car was damaged while being towed and needed an estimate done for insurance purposes. They got my car in ASAP and were great with communication during the whole process. My car was kept there while waiting for insurance to approve the repairs. As soon as I gave them the approval, they got to work on fixing it. I was able to wait in the office while they finished up the alignment that needed done. My vehicle was being a pain but they didnt quit til it was right. Will definitely recommend and send any of my family and friends there! Thank you Bubba for running an awesome, honest business!!

Ive been going to A-1 Auto Repair for some time now.. I bring my two cars and my girlfriends car in for servicing and they have also fixed what other places couldnt or missed.. they are a family owned business and have been in business for some time now.. the prices are reasonable and at the same time I just appreciate them for doing their best ! I will be going to them soon again.. I like that they are open to me bringing my own supplies and parts because I can be a bit picky with what brands of parts I like.. so after I bring the part, I can save some money with the part I brought and then they only charged me the labor cost.. I just advise that the parts you buy for them to install are certified or were bought from auto zone/ orielys etc and keep the recipet.. I wouldnt want them to be liable for installing something that didnt come from them. Like I said, I trust these guys and they have gone above and beyond my expectations of what good service is and I choose them over the dealership.Call them for quotes and availability..The picture with the black car, I was getting a transmission flush and filter change .. I felt that was very important because I do alot of driving with that vehicle.. then the other picture is just an oil change on my girlfriends car..

I bought a used car not too long ago. I took it to a shop I had found on google and all I got was a long list of problems. I came to A-1 Auto to get a second opinion and Bubba told me what I really needed and helped me get it done. I will only go to A-1 Auto now. A good group of people with honest and helpful answers. 10/10 would recommend.

Great job! I was told by Firestone that i needed a complete brake job costing $1400. I told Firestone I would get a second opinion. Went to A1 Auto and they inspected the brakes and they told the pads were still good. I told them that I had some vibration in the steering wheel when going down hills and they said maybe turning the rotors would clear that up. They did it for $140 and no more vibration when I brake. You can trust these guys. Great service!

Excellent Customer Service!!! They located the problem and told me what it was. They also gave me the option of fixing it myself. Unlike other shops that fix it without your approval and charge you a ridiculous amount, for a small job that’ll only cost you a few bucks and labor.👍👍

I got my jeep water pump replaced at Midas 8 months ago. The water pump they installed started leaking after 7 months of use. Midas wanted to charge me another $1,000 to get it replaced due to there subpar installation. I looked around to see if I could get it replaced cheaper and found A-1 auto which could replaced it for a third of the price. Took it to A-1 auto and they fixed it within a day.Satisfied with A-1 auto and will now make this my first stop for any future vehicle repairs and services.

Bubba and his crew have always done an excellent job with repairing and servicing my vehicles. Ive relied on Bubba and his experienced team of mechanics with everything from basic maintenance services to the most complex jobs. It can be difficult to find an auto mechanic you can trust with both workmanship and cost but I have never been let down by A-1 Auto Repair.Most recently I brought in my Lexus for brake work to be done as the ABS and VSC lights on the dash came on. I also requested a tune up and oil changed and to also look over the vehicle for anything that may need attention. Nathan handled everything honestly and professionally. He was easy to work with and upfront with what they needed to do. Nathan is also extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy which are two qualities you need in a mechanic.Bubba and Nathan are good people who take pride in their work. Its very reassuring to have a an auto repair shop like A-1 Auto to rely on.

I took my 2003 Ford wagon into A-1 today and was so pleased with the crew there! My car was functioning but made a terrible rumble and just sounded awful. Bubbaʻs crew quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it in about an hour. Iʻve never experienced such fast and efficient service with any other auto shop in Honolulu. I honestly feel like I have a new car thanks to these guys! Mahalo nui loa A-1! (And, Roll Tide!)

Took my car in to get my front wheel bearing fixed and they told me that a new guy was gonna do it for the first time but told me not to worry, a veteran mechanic will be there to supervise. Problem was that it took about 7 hours to do the job and after I got my car back, 2 days later, it started to make noise again. I called twice, first time i left a message and explained what was happening (no return call) and 2nd time, he told me hell call me back cause his computer was giving him problems... no call back as well. Right after that, my cars timing belt broke so it was no longer drivable. The only thing I liked was the fact that he took me in pretty fast. Secondly, he allowed me to bring my own parts and gave me a lower price. What I didnt appreciate was the no call back thing. Ill try them again one more time and see if things are better. If so, ill give them a better rating. Besides... the guy I spoke to seemed nice. Just dont give me a new guy unless tge job can be done properly or at least call your customers back.

This was my second experience with Bubba and his crew. They are kind, respectful, and honest. I brought my car in on a Monday morning Because the engine was rumblin and the check engine light was on. Bubba said they would try to get it diagnosed by 1 p.m. Sure enough, I received a text message in the early afternoon hours with a description of the problem and an estimate of the cost. I was able to pick up my car that afternoon and its been running fine since then. You can trust Bubba and his crew to take care of your cars. Outstanding!

I just bought a used RAV4 Toyota for my daughter and had a front driver side break problem. So I took it to A-1 Auto Repair and they fixed the problem in just the matter of 5 to 10 minutes and the best part is he didn’t even charged me a penny. Our car broke down about noon on a Saturday on our way to a camping trip. Its not easy to find a mechanic on Saturday to bring your car much less fix it same day in Honolulu. We were very fortunate to get ahold of Bubba Smith at A-1 Auto. They said we could bring it in and leave it until they could fix it. They close at 2pm on Saturday. We were going to leave it and take a bus home. We had it towed there at 1:45! We were super happy theyd take it. Not only did they take it, Merle fixed it while we waited after shop hours. Fair price. EXCELLENT service! Camping trip back on! Thank you, A-1 Auto! Sometimes badluck is followed by good luck and good people!

Brought them in my 95 Windstar van after I blew out the motor. They expertly installed a newly re-manufactured one and even made the automatic transmission run way better. They even offered expert advise on other minor issues. After picking it up and driving it the whole day Im as satisfied as if I had purchased a brand new van for 1/10th the price! I highly recommend A-1 to any one with minor to major automotive needs. p.s I have been a backyard mechanic since 1969 and a mechanic helper several times, if anyones curious...

I took my truck there based on a friends review for my clutch, they gave me a good price and fixed it pretty fast. When I left, on the way home it broke again, I took it back and they fixed it without a word. They were great.I took my truck there for a window motor after being quoted $700 at a couple other places, they charged me $150 and did it lickety split.I took my honda for engine mounts that midas quoted at $1500, they did it for less than $500. They always are nice, honest and fair. I am always happy when I leave there.Jr. is always great. Even when I am distressed and feel like my world is falling apart, because it is when my car dont work, they fix me up, are nice, fast and honest about what really needs to be done and only do that. They dont try to snow me over with a bunch of BS to charge more.I tell all my friends to go there, and I thank my friend who sent me there.
