Outstanding customer service. I went in for two trim pots and a speaker. They spent considerable time with me helping look through bins and even testing the speaker for me. Down to earth and friendly customer service.

Ive saved many thousands of dollars shopping here!!No doubt!! Capacitors are between 5-15 cents for many values. Larger values 35-50c. Every passive compone youd ever need!!I am here almost every single day.Resistors are dirt cheap.You can fill a bucket with parts, and its actually rather difficult too break over $10 as parts are so cheap.Compared to anywhere online, you easily spend 1/4 or 75% the price at Surplus, compared to anywhere else.Amazing place!! Might be the only ones left like it!!My only complaint is that they raise their prices, just so they NEVER go out of business!!Some things are indeed too cheap!!

Parts place of my dreams! Incredible variety of new and used electronic components / parts / equipment pneumatics / servos / led panels / lcd panels computer parts and adapters etc etc etc!Salesman was super nice.

They advertise their product of the sequencer as working only to find out that it was knowingly not working and sold it anyway, and refuse to give money back. I had read the reviews as positive beforehand. They sold me the product and held onto it until the sale was finalize and then when out the door, only to find a note inside the product that it was non-functioning. Then claim that it was obvious that they explain it not working.

If they dont have it, chances are, it no longer exists. I kid you not, this place is incredible with the amount and variety of surplus stuff and if that isnt enough the staff is amazingly knowledgeable. Not only that but they will go the extra mile to try and hunt down what you need. I went in to see if they had some RAM for an obsolete workstation I picked up at a resale store. The counter person hunted down some RAM that might work, and it did, and then I figured it would cost me an arm and a leg or at least half an arm, but NO I walked out paying less than $10, I had enough left over for lunch. This place is amazing. You have to go here if you need that odd piece of equipment that you figure you can never find. Between the variety of stock and the super awesome staff youll never shop online for that oddball item again.

I come out here fairly often. I really like coming here to see weird, and unusual hardware from all eras. Their stock is constantly changing. The owner is a good guy and will help you try to find what you need.

Large collect of disorganized parts. If you have the time however to wander around youll find some gems. Prices however dont reflect the new old stock parts as many of the parts can be purchased for less new online.

There is more new and used electronic stuff than you can imagine. Dont know what I would do with most of it but it is very interesting.

Having gone to school in Chicago starting in the early 60s, I really miss all of the electronic surplus stores that they used to be all over town. American Science & Surplus being one of the few remaining ones. Surplus Gizmos is one of the few remaining bastions of the electronic surplus stores that I loved so much!Be warned even if I only go in to pick up one thing I always wind up spending at least a couple hours there wandering around buried in all the cool stuff!

Walking into this store was like being a Fry’s equivalent thrift store. Pretty much everything needed to build and customize vintage computer systems from CPUs to SCSI controller cards can be found here. I hope this place sticks around, because it seems like it’s the only store of it’s kind in Portland. There’s lots of other electronic things too that I’m sure someone would find useful, but I have no idea what their utility is. Really cool place to go for vintage computer collectors.

I try to frequent this place as often as possible. Prices of items are definitely more expensive than what can be found online, but the extremely helpful and nice staff are enough to bring me back, on top of the prices being extremely fair as well.

Love this place! They have so many awesome electronics and I can usually find the weird electronic part I need. They even have a fun short person discount so the kids can get a few things to take apart for the fun of it for free!

Reasonably priced, new uesdb used Electronics, Computer & Manufacturing components. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I felt like I was back in Silicon Valley again.

As someone with very little prowess in this kind of thing, it was an intimidating place to step in to. Walls to wall racks covered in equipment, cables, resistors, and the like. I ended up finding what I needed: A small, black and white CRT monitor. The staff were very friendly and helped point me towards the corner that would have the cables I was after as well. For what I got, the prices were unbeatable.

Whether we are fixing old electronics or building robots and art this place has always been a staple in our lives. Great selection

What an interesting place to visit! I spent an hour or so looking at all the strange gadgets and gizmos on the shelves. They have an amazing amount of used random items. Some if the stuff I had no idea as to what it was or what it was used for but, very fun to guess at!

This place is fantastic! The customer service, from the normal staff, is amazing. They genuinely care about you as a customer and offer several discounts for Seniors, Veterans and other distinguished citizens. This is rare. The assortment/range of products is immense. Every component one needs they offer. The downside to this business is the owner, Mike. He is extremely slothful in how he personally conducts his business. By way of not returning emails, phone calls, or even requests to have donated goods appraised (which they offer). However, this does not detract from the experience or the service that the regular employees give to the customers. I have spent several hundred dollars in this store and look forward to spending more. Every time I go here it is an experience.

Large warehouse full of lots of surplus electronics. Staff was extremely helpful in finding me the correct power cords. Educated me on voltage and amps and helped me find the correct gear for my system.10/10 would recommend.

I could not be happier with the service I was given.I was looking for a specific part.I got there just as they were getting ready to close. The tall man was kind enough to let me come in and he found the part and measured it to be sure it was the right size.I bought it and I left. I will go back. Super cool mom n pop place with a massive variety of pieces, trinkets, electronic parts, metal, etc. If you’re a tinkerer or DIY-er you need to come here. They didn’t have what I was looking for, but got a universal remote for $2!

One of the few electronics surplus stores left. Everything a maker, tinkerer, or curious human could need for all sorts of projects.

Always some interesting things to find here. Ranges from old consumer electronics like palm pilots to some serious industrial grade fabrication equipment. I dont think Ive ever been able to leave empty handed much to my wallets dismay.

If you hobby in anything surrounding electronics old and new, then you need to stop in. Fair prices and friendly people are a cherry on top of a electric sundae.

If you are missing a whatcha macallit and need to find a doodad for your thingamabob then look no further. This place has it all, super informed staff, and know most if not all parts from memory! 10/10 this store is awesome.

It IS surplus, so its not perfect, but in general everyone knows where everything is.Prices are more than fair for most things, though occasionally things will get mispriced, but they are quick to fix it when they notice. They carry esoteric, strange, rare, and plain uncommon stuff from all walks of electronics manufacturing. From discrete components to ICs to whole test apparatus to entire server racks.The staff is friendly and polite, and are happy to help when they can. Be polite and politeness is returned.On a more personal note, this store is very dear to me. I go in and see projects waiting to be worked on. This store is like a toy store for geeks. May it never change.

Amazing selection of items ranging from pneumatics to sensors to computer hardware and electronics development. Definently would recommend stopping there before shopping on Amazon for a new project.

No idea who has lower prices, especially locally.Selection? Itll probably take 3 more trips to see it all.Customer Service? A very kind and genuine staff who seem happy to have you there. It was my first time there and I didnt see their bag & pen system (think bulk foods). So I go up to the counter right at closing with a pile of capacitors of varying size and price. The gentleman who helped me (owner?) wouldve had every reason to be annoyed. But he was very kind and genuine to a rookie like me. Not even a hint of that elitist attitude we see so often in tech. They were accommodating, helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and just seemed happy to be doing something they love.I strongly encourage anyone interested to go and support this store. Its a shame there arent more places like this one. I never write reviews, but I was so impressed that its the first thing I did when I got home. Keep up the great work you guys :-)

This is one of my favorite places to shop for affordable CNC machinery, IT, router or plasma table parts. I commute from Vancouver, WA to spend thousands at this store because their knowledgeable, friendly staff help with most concerns I have about tech products Im unfamiliar of.
