This is the only place I go to get anything done to any of my cars. Alfonso, the owner, is super cool and honest to a fault. If its not worth the work, hell tell you. The staff is friendly, and highly knowledgeable about all parts of the car. The best part is, they dont cheat you. The work is always top quality, and worth it. These people dont cut corners; you get exactly what you need, every time. If they say you need it, you need it. Bottom line: they love cars, and love making them work. For me, that and their honesty have me sold. A few people have made bad reviews, but i think the real issue is, as I said, he explains what is needed, why, and whether or not its worth the work. From there on, its up to you.

Now this really hurts my heart to write this review. Been coming to Hillcrest automotive for well over 15 years. Before Alphonso took over. There used to be an older gentleman who used to work on all of my vehicles. Alphonso is a great mechanic. I am not sure who worked on my truck this past experience. So I took my 2001 Ford Expedition in because it was shaking while driving. Was told I needed to replace all spark plugs and wires. Cost me a little over $450.00. Couple of days later the same problem occurred. Now I was told I needed a new catalytic converter. Alphonso explained the bad catalytic converter was causing my spark plugs to backfire. So why was this not diagnosed the week before. So now I am out of $450.00 and my vehicle is still not running smoothly. On another occasion I brought the same truck for an oil change. And 0when I picked my vehicle05 up. I drove down the street and my change oil light came back on. I took it straight back to the shop. And was advised they never even completed the oil change. Hurts my heart as I have had all my vehicles serviced here but I will NEVER bring another vehicle of mines here again

I have had work done on my car a few times with no complaints at this shop and the prices seemed reasonable. Was very surprised to get a quote from Alphonso of well over $300 to install front quick struts that I prepurchased. Certified Alignment quoted me $180 and midas $244. This shop has lost my business. So disappointed.

Had to come to this location for a state inspection. Very fast and professional. Toyota of Alexandria is smart to use this location for their MD sales.

Maryland State Inspection Station

I’ve owned over 3 vehicles these past years and I’ve taken them all to Alfonso. The man does a great job and great quality. He’s an ASE MASTER Tech, which only the best mechanics can accomplish. How do I know that? I used to be a dealership mechanic, ASE Certified technician and a PA state inspector in my younger days. Why don’t I do things myself or ask? Well, I dont feel like it and my career change affords me the luxury of someone doing it for me. I trust Alfonso with my grandmothers car! He’s a great experienced mechanic.Over the last few years I have had around 3 vehicles. And I have all taken it to Alfonso. The man works super well and the work is of high quality. Alfonso is an ASE Master in Mechanics and has all the certifications in automotive mechanics that are very difficult to achieve. How do you ask yourself? Well, in my younger days I was a mechanic, certified in ASE and inspector of the state of Pennsylvania in a dealer of new vehicles. If you ask yourself, why dont I make my own objections? Well, he had a career change and I can let the mechanics do it for me. But if I tell you that I trust Alfonso even with my grandmothers vehicle! Very good mechanic!
