We were so impressed with all of the amazing service we received here. Cody was really easy to work with and very knowledgeable about the car we bought. He even did a last second long drive to procure the car in the color we wanted. Everything about this place is 1 star. This is a very old building with no heater or anything on guest lounge. Outside temperature was 48 degrees and lounge temperature was also 48 degrees. My car service service was completed around 2pm then it took them 1 hour to complete the paperwork, I dont know what kind of paperwork they are doing for oil change seri it take less time to buy the car. I have been to lots of dealership by far this is the worst dealership. I will rather drive to other Hyundai dealership but i will not come here again.

He took the time to explain the process and how long it would be be to figure out the issue. Contacted Ron Tonkin about an Elantra SE. They offer it to me for 21700. We negotiated and settle on a price of 21000. I went to them the next day. Test drive was great. Salesman was great. I had brought my dd214 and gave it to them for my 500 military rebate. They run my credit and bought me paper work for me to buy the car for 21,000. Wait, what? What happen to my military rebate? A new salesman came in and explain to me that they needed that rebate because I was given a very good deal and they need it to make up for that. I rejected that, and he further explained, that if I had told them, that I was a veteran, they never would have never agree to the 21,000 dollar deal. This upset me, because he was tacitly admitting that it was Ron Tonkins policy to charge veterans more because they were due a rebate from Hyundai. I believe it is Hyundai intent that the rebate should go to the customer and not the dealership. They finally agreed that they would apply the rebate and sell me they car for 20,500. However, by that time, I was so discussed, that I just left.
The worst car buying experience ive ever had. First i had my sales person new nothing about cars but i found the one i wanted online and came in to get that car specifically. The car was 22,995 and my sales person said it had a 100,000 mile warranty. I thought that was included in the price. I said no to all additional charges for the car and was expecting to pay the price posted. To my surprised my car bill came and it was over 29,000$. I called many times to get it taken care of. Sam said he will cancel the warranty. After a month it was still in my account so i called again and sam is almost impossible to get a hold of so i talked to a new guy who said it takes 2 months. So 2 monts after it should have been cancelled it is still in my account. I finally get a hold of sam and he says they must have lost my information. He says he will take care of it himself and it will be taken out in a week. Almost 2 weeks later its still in my account. I just need it taken care of and nothing seems to be happening.Edit. Over two weeks later i am told it will take another month or 2 to be taken off my bill.
Took my new car in for its first service and truthfully I expected to sit and wait for a few hours. To my surprise, I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes. They took my car in as soon as I got there and had everything taken care of before I could even blink. They were super friendly and clearly work very hard. I have been coming to this dealership for quite some time and it never fails me! It didn’t really apply this last time but there have been times in the past on previous cars I’ve owned where things needed to be replaced and they ALWAYS check first and give you prices and don’t hassle you if you decide to wait on things. I’m very appreciative of their customer service. I would recommend anyone coming here whether they have a Hyundai or not.
I came in to get my first oil change for my new car. Everyone was so nice and courteous considering how extremely busy it looked to be. I had received an estimate to have my rear brakes replaced from a local tire shop. I also needed my rear brake light replaced and all of my wiper blades replaced. I decided to contact my local dealership, Tonkin Gladstone Hyundai. They were able to get me in the next morning, and the cost for all items was less than the estimate for the brakes alone at the tire shop. The newly remodeled service department is absolutely beautiful and the customer service was top notch! (Much better than previous experiences at the same dealership). I will say, the chairs in the waiting area are not very comfortable. I waited and worked from my laptop for two hours. Being only 5‘2“, my feet did not even reach the floor when a sat back fully in the chair, LOL All in all, I was very impressed, and will be returning for future service items… And maybe even to buy a new car when the time comes. This is my second Hyundai and I’ve had it for nine years and absolutely love it.
Friendly staff and good prices, but not quite convenient for distant buyers and they need to look over the cars more carefully. My brand new car had a mark on the hood before I even drove it off the car lot, the windshield wipers (which I assume were new) leave wet streaks when used and my gas cover does not work properly. I have to pull the button to open it rather than press on the cap to pop it open. So I already have to take the car in to get it fixed. And be sure to read over the paperwork carefully, because I almost paid a higher price due to a mistake on their part placing me in the wrong state county.
Bought the car in 2016 brand new and have had it serviced here ever since. They are the nicest and most forgiving people. I left the car there and took my keys with me and they didn’t even get mad when I came back almost an hour later. Highly recommend. Professional and courteous staff.
Ali was very helpful and friendly in finding my new car. He had the vehicle ready for me to test drive and although i forgot to tell him about which transmission I wanted, he was quick to get a similar model for me. They didnt have the exact one I wanted to buy at the dealership so he drove to another to pick one up and stayed past closing to ensure we were overall satisfied with everything. Highly recommend.

After experiencing poor results at the service departments of two other Portland area Hyundai dealerships, I elected to try Ron Tonkins in Gladstone, even though it was over 30 minutes away from my home. What a difference. The facility is immaculate and the entire staff was friendly and helpful. I arrived at my scheduled appt. time and it took only five minutes for John Shipman to write up my ticket. He then introduced me to the customer waiting area. The entire time I was waiting, he kept me updated as to the status of my car without me asking. I was very impressed and now consider this my Go To service department. I highly recommend them.
Just want to say. My experience with this dealership was amazing due to one main thing...... Vanessa... if you ever are needing a new or used car you have to ask for Vanessa. I thought customer service was pretty much dead in this industry... i was wrong. Vanessa brought it let me tell you.Customer service through the roof. I felt she listened to each and very need I had. So personable... I didnt feel like I was being forced or pressured. It was such a great experience. Knowledgeable and very nice....first time I ever felt at ease at a car dealership... seriously take the time to stop by and see her...you will love it.
Mixed feelings here....despite being in communication with the dealer about our coming to get a very specific car, and then making the 3 hour drive, they sold it 20 minutes before we arrived on the lot 😤 (unlike the dealer we ended up purchasing from who held a car until we arrived) The first sales rep whos name I didnt catch just figured that was that and let us out the door. The redeeming part of our experience was Vanessa, she was an absolute sweetheart! After overhearing what was going on, she came running outside after us, eager to make us feel welcome. She explained the car wasnt technically sold yet and even got us a test drive in it. We enjoyed her bubbly, warm and hospitable personality right off the bat! The car we wanted did sell, but Vanessa worked diligently to find a comparable one based on our needs however, it just didnt happen at no fault of her efforts. So my feelings on the deal as a whole, mixed, but if youre in the market I do recommend working with Vanessa specifically, her customer service is truly above and beyond.
We all know how terrifying and overwhelming car buying can be. I searched canvana & craigslist for weeks before I decided to go to a dealership and I am SO glad I went here! Greg contacted me and was NOT pushy what so ever.After test driving a 2015 Subaru, I asked to see a few others. It was packed & busy inside so I went back to my car & I did some research on other prices/ comparing mileage and such. He came in and checked on us 15 minutes later & asked if we wanted to test drive anything else (which was perfect timing) and I said yes! The 2017 blue Subaru Forester. After coming back from test driving while my fiance was comparing their price to others, we came back and decided to apply for it because the car was in PERFECT condition and was actually priced lower than other places. Greg was busy with another customer so Taylor took care of us. He was SO nice, personable and answered any of my questions. He got us a lower rate & worked with our monthly payments which for a 2017 Subaru with only 40K miles, was not bad! We then went into the finance office and worked with Joseph who was also SO incredibly kind & personable. Everybody was so friendly and made you feel like youve known them for years. The next day Taylor called and checked in to see how everything is going with the car and explained some of the features without me asking which was so incredibly nice. THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY WE WORKED WITH! You have a customer for life! We appreciate all of you!
I went to the service center due to my AC blowing cold then warm air when set on Max AC. I hate taking my cars to have service for various reasons so I did extensive research online to see if people were experiencing similar problems. I found that the thermistor (yeah I said that correct) malfunctioning was a common problem in Hyundai Tucson’s. The car was under warranty so I took it in and discussed my Internet searches with the service writer. Needless to say my comments were not noted and I was told it would be $300 to drain and refill the AC system and if the issue wasn’t under warranty I would have to pay this fee in addition to the $50 deductible. I was called and told the compressor was bad and that I could pick up my vehicle with a $50 payment. 6 months later (after the winter and now in the summer) my vehicle was having the same issue. I called to have my vehicle serviced. I went to the appointment and was told it would be $295 to troubleshoot the problemin addition to $295 to drain and refill the AC system. I asked about the warranty and was promptly told it had expired 2 months ago. I knew what the problem was (the thermistor) so I left with my vehicle. I changed the thermistor which was $16 in 5 minutes. The AC has been running perfectly for weeks. I am disappointed by the lack of warranty on the service that didn’t fix the issue. You don’t fix the problem and want to charge me to figure out why your repair didn’t work. I’m no mechanic but if a particular vehicle has thousands of people reporting the same fix…..why not listen? It can’t hurt. Oh and the $300 plus for a battery they tried to up sell me was a shame. Autozone tested the battery and told me it had significant life left.
Jasmine was extremely helpful. She was knowledgeable, not pushy and didnt try to sell us on a car. The process was a tad longer than I would like, but it happens. Otherwise, a very good experience getting a vehicle from this location. Loved having Jasmine help us out.
I LOVED my experience at Ron Tonkin Hyundai in Gresham! I told them specifics on the exact car I wanted, and David and Erick made it happen. They’re so knowledgeable, helpful, trustworthy and all around a great guys. We were really nervous after hearing horror stories about the car buying process, but these two really made it simple and painless. Erick went over everything about the car with us and let me ask a million questions, he was wonderful and I can’t recommend them enough!

The dealership is pretty old and run down, the sales staff are nice and on top of things, but they are severely hampered by terrible managers. Looked at a used pickup where the child safety locks were broken, meaning there was no way to open the back doors from the inside at all, and rather than offer to fix them or reduce the price, the manager wanted to add on the cost of the repairs to the sale price! Ive been in car sales and management and never seen anything like it before, and when I asked if he was serious the manager started yelling. Avoid this place like the plague. Go anywhere else.

Jonathan was our salesperson and he was a really nice and honest guy. Where the problems began was when Darwin quoted us an amount for our trade-in and then come to find out it was nowhere near what he said it would be on paper. It was ultimately $2,000 less than originally quoted. When he said he would “check on that”, he completely disappeared and another guy named Joseph came in. You catching on?Now this isn’t my first time going to a car dealership and I kind of knew of what I could possibly expect and sure enough, here it was.If you’re the kind of buyer that says “yes” to everything they suggest/offer then you will probably have a fabulous experience. You’re the kind of buyer they absolutely love.The whole process took us two days and about 6 hours total. We went back and forth on price a bit for the car and our trade in and finally settled on a price and terms.Even initially when showed the car outside we were told the vehicle was $6,000 less then it was once we got back inside. When we addressed that, they instantly “took off” $2,000 of the price. But we still purchased it for $4,000 more than it was claimed to be when first looking at it.At the very end, we went to sign the paperwork with Sam, the moment I said I no longer wanted the extended warranty and GAP coverage, he became visibly upset and tried to pressure us to keep it on. When I said no thank you, he got up and left the office completely. Joseph came back in to redo the paperwork and finish the deal. We finished our paperwork and we gave him our down payment. We got in our new car and left.We were very disappointed in our experience. I would rather drive to a different Hyundai dealership out of town for service of my Hyundai then go back to these guys.
Service department is awful! Great place to buy a car. Sales team is courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. The Service Department is the WORST! You have to make an appointment for just an oil change. Then there is no communication on their part to let you know if they found a concern or even that your car is ready! Dropped my car off for an oil change at 3pm and asked them to check another minor issue. No call no info on the issue. So I call them and they closed and I was without my car all night!
Scheduled service was done quickly & all questions I had about putting a bike rack on my Kona EV were answered clearly.
Always polite. Less than an hour to resolve the recall issue.

Wish I could give negative stars.A truly sad experience.Bought a truck, was given one key and promised another key. The salesman stated, I just need to find it, its in my house somewhere, Ill mail it to you asap or you can come pick it up.Reason being he had been driving it for a bit and left a set there. No biggie, all G......over a year later, no call, no email, no key.They were so immature about the whole thing, my wife and I literally got a lawyer. He did get us our key but he almost blew a fuse dealing with them outside of court and nearly opened a law suit out of spite. It was real close. It shouldnt have been this way and all the attitude and intentional delays and ignorance was uncalled for. I wouldnt want anyone to have to deal with that. It starts at the top and it trickles down. Sad.
This is a great place to purchase a vehicle. I traded my vehicle in and got a Honda hrv lx . Jazmine and Tony where amazing and knowledgeable. That got me what I wanted at a good rate. I would definitely purchase another vehicle from this location. 😁👍🏽

**EDIT**after being ignored by one salesperson I was brought back in and helped by manager and another sales person much to my hesitation. But then I had to give car back due to a misunderstanding. I THOUGHT I would be able to repurchase the new car a few weeks later, but I wasnt able to even talk to a manager, only the salesperson who didnt know much detail. Even when I brought the car back I felt looked down upon and avoided. I didnt get clear answers and left with a casual offhand mention of follow up. Still need a new car, but will be going to another dealership at this point. Some things they cant control but customer service levels can be controlled and they do not put that high in priority here.Came in last week..... this has been a long process but Jason and Taylor worked their behinds off for me. Days of me bothering and being picky, all with tricky bank stuff. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

This place is a joke.We drove up from Springfield (2-1/2hr drive) after calling to confirm the availability of a vehicle that we had seen online. They confirmed that the vehicle was available and would be happy to schedule an appointment for a test drive.When we got there we walked the lot and didnt see the vehicle so we looked for a salesman. We explained the vehicle we were looking for and he said he would check on it. After talking with his manager He came back and told us that the vehicle had been on lease for a weeks now and was not available. We left there more than 8hrs ago and even now, as I write this, the ad is still up online.

Just got back after giving my SO a ride out to purchase a new Kona with an agreed-upon, out the door price. We get there, they dont even have the car, and used almost every one of the old greasy tricks to wear us down and agree to pay more. We just dont want you to think its a bait and switch. Well, if you dont support the price you agreed to, its a bait and switch.Buy your Hyundai anywhere but Wrong Tonkin.What a waste of 3 hours.

When I decided I was going to get the car Ive got, I searched around and found the best price at a dealer 32 miles away. I called to find out if the car was still available, Eric said that it was. I had some questions about the sale and the place, which they were answered to my satisfaction. I promised Eric that I was coming to get the car.My friend took me over and we arrived there, Eric was available to continue with the sale.Everything went smoothly, other questions came up and answered.I thanked my friend and told him that I was getting home in my new car, knowing that it was buying my car, I let him return to his normal day.So far the car has been what I expected.

I used to work with Ron tonkin. I wouldnt recommend that but I would highly recommend our Hyundai stores. Great car, great prices and a great team of guys. I have a lot of goos friends that work there that will take great care of you. Ask for Walter or David and they will make sure you leave happy. On site vehicle inspections, certified vehicles and a slew of brand new cars. There is something for everyone. If your in the market this place is a must stop. Cheers!

Let me tell you, the outside of this dealership does not do it justice. My girlfriend and I after a long day of jumping dealership to dealership finally decided what car we wanted to go get. We call Ron Tokin Hyundia an hour before they closed and said we’d come and buy a car right now from them. They welcomed us with open arms. Driving up you instantly get greasy car dealership vibes. But let me tell you, it was the best car dealership experience I’ve ever had in my life. Everyone working that night was basically family in one way or another and they treated you like family back. Sam, Conner, Angel and Conners father the sales manager was amazing and really made something happen for me that night. If you are looking for a dealership, were you feel at home, and everyone is family and it’s not some massive dealership then this is the place for you. Go check them out if you are in the area. Five out of Five stars!

Happened upon Ron Tonkin Hyundai after using the search tool for dealerships that participate in the Costco Auto Program. I called same day and was greeted by Eric who was happy to help us in our search for an SUV. Eric and the rest of the team were friendly and highly professional throughout the sales transaction. Would definitely recommend this dealership!
I bought a new car and now I have a battery drainage problem and the dealership can’t get me in at least 3 to 4 weeks to look at it. The first new car I bought they screwed up the paint work so bad they had to give me a whole Nother car. That was two months out of my life I spent dealing with that situation. They don’t give you a loaner car so that means when my car ends up not running I have no transportation for work. I also work at a dealership as a service writer but we have no problems whatsoever like the local Hyundai dealerships. We take care of each one of our customers with an appointment or not. In general if it’s not the same day they will have their car back the very next day. Their service is so bad that they will not even answer their phones most of the time. Just knowing this would probably prevent me from buying any of their cars.
Easiest car buying experience ever. Did as much as we can online since we were coming from the coast. They even filled up the car for us, which is something weve never had done at any other dealerships.
Im disappointed currently. I WILL change this if things change. They are still showing this vehicle on KBB. It was originally at one price and then increased. (the asking price increased $4k overnight). I was told I could purchase it the next day. After it goes through the shop safety inspection. I offered to pay the asking price in case...For days now. Im told it is still available. When I ask about the price and how to get this done. Well thats why Im writing this. I dont know is this really standard practice?
I would never recommend Ron Tonkin Hyundai Gresham. I bought a new Hyundai Tucson there December 15th of 2019. I drove the car home parked in front of my driveway to show my wife, and the car would not start. The battery was dead I called Ron Tonkin the next day they told me to have it towed to their location. I had the car towed to their location and had to wait 3 days while they tested the battery to make sure it was bad. A brand new car with a bad battery.,And they would do nothing to help me. They knew the battery was bad because they made me wait about 2 hours after I purchased the Tucson they said they were detailing the car. They were actually waiting to see if the battery charged. I missed two days of work because of this dealership. When I I called to see if my car battery was replaced they gave me the run-around for 3 days. Do yourself a favor get a Hyundai somewhere else.
Terrible experience at Ron Tonkin Hyundai in Gresham! I bought the car here last November with dealer Cody and Jazmine. At that time I’ve received just one smart key, because they lost the second one. So they said, we will try to find or make it new one.Base on this experience and other trouble with this dealer, I gave the 2 stars when I got the survey from hyundai. After that, the dealer called me to request the re-survey. They just want to get a 4-5 stars. If I give the 4-5 stars at re-survey, they offer the full tank of gas when I visit them to get a second key. After that, However, They just ignore my message or call and I also did not receive my second one until now. Today, I also send a message to them, but I don’t expect to get a response from the dealer. I do not believe them anymore.
Worst car buying experience Ive ever had. They all lied to me. We drove from Albany a close to 2 hour drive to look at the SUV on there lot. The car was filthy. The salesman told us it was a trade and it was the GMs sister in laws . We still test dove it and it great. We were told if we left the car it would detailed we also noticed the rims were bent we pointed it out to the salesman and he said no problem we have a guy who comes out and repairs them it will all be done when you pick it up. Well a week went by with no contact. So I called them and asked whats going on they said they had to take it to a Ford dealer because it needed a part so I waited. A few more days ago by without any updates so I called the Ford dealer myself. Tonkin Hyundai lied and said it was at Ford but Ford Dealer said they never had a appointment with them. When I call tonkin Hyundai on there BS they then came up with another excuse. I asked to speak to there GM and apologized then gave me another person to talk to David. Well David was very little to no help I explained everything to him once again. After all this almost 2 weeks later I finally get my car. But the detail was horrible and the rims were never refurbished. I then called David again and after heated argument he agreed to repair the rim. While all this is happening the windshield wipers decide not to work. Well I told them and he was very reluctant to fix them but we told him it part of the safety check that all dealers must comply with. Well I dropped off my car at the dealer to get the wipers and rims fixed Divid is out and said to ask for another person. Well no one knew anything about what was supposed to be done. The woman at the service desk was rude and said well I dont know what youre talking about go to the office so I did. Finally after 45 minutes the figure it out. Then the next day I get a call from Vanessa saying they are not going to fix the rims even after David agreed to fix the. At this point Im just so frustrated I want my car back. I told Vanessa youre sales guy and David shouldnt anything if they cant keep there promise. We today I drove back to Tonkin Hyundai 2 hours and they cant find my keys. This is the most unorganized place ever they dont communicate with each other and they will lie through their teeth. Dont buy from them they all lie and each person will tell youa different story. Its all fake smiles.
Ron Tonkin Hyundai showed me professionalism and efficiency when they determined that my cars stereo was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. They ordered the replacement parts and scheduled me for an appointment within a week. I would recommend this dealership.

He was very professional and very very helpful.I had very certain parameters and needs and he jumped through so many hoops to help me. The store is in Gresham and I live in Vancouver.Because of the whole covid situation I was very skeptical about leaving my home to buy a car. If youre looking for a car, definitely stop by this dealership. And when you walk in that door, be sure to ask for Taylor. Taylor has bent over backwards to try to help me out-and got the monthly payments right around where I wanted them-even with my challenged credit score. We ended up NOT buying the car, but not because we didnt want to (believe me I wanted a new car), but because financially it made more sense to fix my car and continue working on building my credit until my cars warranty expires next year. So, I will be coming back when my warranty expires, and I will be buying from Taylor-he really knows what hes doing. He took the time to help with all the needs that needed to be met before I considered buying, and he was very patient with me (I can be very difficult to work with when making big purchases like this). I do HIGHLY recommend this dealership to ANYONE who is looking for a car-no matter what your credit score is, or what is bringing you to the market. Theyre AMAZING, their cars are in great shape, and they have the BEST warranty on a new car out of any dealership in the area. If I could give 0 stars I would! My wife went through credityes.com and was told by Andrea Rice, after multiple conversations via e-mail and appointment phone call she was APPROVED. My wife was then told to come in Monday at 9am and tell them we are doing the credityes.com program working with Andrea. We did that. My wife also asked Andrea if we could do more over e-mail and phone all due to both myself and my wife being high risk and COVID19. She was told we did as much as we could via phone because she needed to prove it is her who is applying for the loan and not a fraud. We were told it would be 2 hours max and she will prove who she is and do paperwork and decide on the car. She also gave us the approval information like total amount approved and cap on the monthly payment. We were sent the website to pick a car and let her know which one so that it would be available to test drive on that Monday.We arrived and was greeted by the first person who was at the door. We told them the information that we were suppose to upon arrival. We then had a sales guy come to us at the table and told us he was working with us. We made it clear to him we were also working with Andrea and asked if we could see her. He responded with, I dont know if shes here, she might be but might not be. My wife was given an credit app to fill out, and she said this was already done via online. The sales guy whos name was maybe Jason, made a comment about another sales guy who in passing said something funny. Jason said, He has a touch of autism, and proceeded to explain his quirks.While engaging in conversation and trying to understand why we arent accomplishing the tasks Andrea said we would, Jason continued to shrug and just bypass our confusion and understanding of the process. He then asked what type of car things are wanting. I showed him the same car we gave Andrea previously and was told that car would be in my wifes file. Jason said, ok so you want sporty etc. like this car wasnt an option. He then said we would get in a car at this dealership and drive all over even into Beaverton to get a car and look at it and it could be an all day thing. When I pointed out the vehicle I wanted was less than 15 min away he again bypassed that and proceeded with completing his questions.About the same time we heard a male yell over the clear wall loudly and onto the sales floor, Whats up with this auto loan!? My wife and I were confused who he was speaking to and sat there, while Jason looked puzzled at us waiting for us to respond. My wife then said, who us? and asked for the question again. The same male then yelled over the wall once again, asking about the finance company we had our other loan with. I feel like this is a confidential thing, and he couldnt get his lazy butt up and walk over to the table and talk to us respectfully.I then asked why we are being screwed around with, and not once did either male associates explain or take the time to come talk to us about what is happening and why. We were then told, nope we cant help you and when we asked again to talk to Andrea we were once again denied.I then asked for the sales manager and I was told the same male adult who yelled over the clear wall, was the sales manager. I then asked for who is above him, and Jason said, The general manager. I then asked to speak to him, and was told by Jason he isnt here because this is where he parks and his car isnt here. I asked for the GMs card. Jason said he doesnt have one.This entire experience was horrible, and I wouldnt buy a car here unless you want to be tricked, lied to, and treated disrespectfully, while also giving out your information and learning about the medical information about other sales associate!
My family had a great experience buying our vehicle here. All of the staff was very kind and patient. They worked with us and took their time to explain anything we needed. We felt very comfortable working with them. Our sales person Taylor worked very hard to find us something that met our needs and made us happy. At no time did we feel pressured or pushed outside of our comfort zone. We were given all of the time, space and support needed to make the big decision of purchasing a vehicle. I highly recommend the team at Hyundai and would trust them with all my future car purchases.
I bought a 2013 Jeep jku sport from the dealership, Darwin Was my salesman and he was kind and informative. Even after selling me an “as is” used vehicle they were willing to go half and half on a new battery since the one that came with the vehicle crapped out in less than a week. Which really says a lot in my mind since they easily could have said “you bought it as is so get lost” but they didn’t. 5 stars for good customer service

By far the WORST car buying experience I have ever encountered. I caught a flight to Portland to pick up a car for my special needs family member and Ron Tonkin was very unprofessional and untimely. All of the paperwork had been completed and I brought a check yet I waited in the office for 4 hours until I could drive home. They also did not include the cars 3-year maintenance certificate and lied about the Tuscon’s service issue date. We later had a series of calls with the manager and he was disrespectful, arrogant, and irrational when it came to accepting their faults and attempting to help the buyers experience.Ron Tonkin in Gresham does not care about the customer or their experience. They are simply UNPROFESSIONAL and DISRESPECTFUL.I would not recommend service of anytime with this dealer.
This dealership has been great to me. I went to one other one before this one and the sales lady was literally begging me to sign papers. At this dealership I really felt like they wanted me to get a good car for my kids and I. Obviously they still need to make money, but they were not pushy and did not beg for my business. I highly recommend coming to visit them in Gresham!
I had a 2004 Hyundia Sonata that I had had for about 9 years, I bought it used. It was a great car and I had no problems with it at all. All of a sudden, everything decided to go at once on it. My son who is also my mechanic told me all the things that needed work and said it really wasnt worth dumping all that money into a 2004 vehicle. So I started researching where the best place to buy a used vehicle was and saw the ratings on Google for Ron Tonkin Hyundai. So my husband and I figured we would just pop in and talk with someone there. We didnt know if we would qualify for a car, or what year of a car I could get if I could get one. We just didnt know much at all going in there, and were so worried because of the condition of my old car of how I was going to get around with a clunker. The minute we walked into Ron Tonkin Hyundai we were greeted with warm smiles. Soon Erick came out and sat down with us. He was so warm and friendly, I felt like I was talking with a friend and in no way did it feel like I was talking to a car salesman. We laughed, joked and discussed what our situation was. Honestly, before I knew it, Erick was walking us around the lot showing us cars, and then boom bam, I was driving out in a beautiful silver 2015 Hyundai Sonata! A huge thank you to everyone at Ron Tonkin Hyundai for such a wonderful experience. Erick is no bs, straight up honest and down to earth. I would recommend Ron Tonkin Hyundai to everyone, and make sure you ask for Erick! Tell him Victoria sent you :) Ive never had a better experience buying a car :)
Im truly one of those people who LOATHE car shopping and talking about financing-- but the folks at Ron Tonkin made it so easy!! We looked online first, and sort of made a wish list of the vans we liked and fit our needs and they prepared a file for us of available credit providers and all the vehicles we might like. They made an appointment for us and we were in and out in 2 hours, and drove home in our new van! Very satisfied!
Trying to get a gas cap for my 06 Tucson becomes a major source of irritation for this consumer. They dont answer the phone nor do they return calls. And neither is their a manager available to correct their NON-EXISTENT customer service. If they cannot take care of the little things, how can one develop a relationship based on trust with their dealership. FYI Gladstone Hyundai same problem. If I could give a ZERO I would. I am going to either order OEM from Amazon or order from Auto Zone...and they are about half the cost...delivered.

Worst car buying experience ever.Avoid if you can. There are plenty of Hyundai dealerships in Portland. If you cannot avoid, make sure you are thorough (they won’t be upfront about problems with the car), ask detailed questions, and don’t give them a penny until you are satisfied, because the moment you hand the money over, they will bend you over and...🤬

Extremely poor customer service. I was returning an end of lease vehicle and they refused to take it. All of my lease paperwork says I can return to any Hyundai dealership! I was planning on leasing or buying a replacement in a few months but now know where NOT to buy from! I was a customer of theirs and have had service done there that was also disappointing some of the times. STAY AWAY

They lie. First, they said that the car I wanted to buy was sold. In two days they informed me that this car wasnt sold but they need to change the lights. When I came the manager said that actually the car was damaged! And they can fix it for me for extra thousand dollars! It was a complete waste of my time.
