Today was my first time in the store. It wont be my last. The aromas of the food was like Heaven on Earth to me. I bought some feta cheese stuffed green olives. They are fantastic. The staff treated me as if I was a family member. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Looking forward to the next visit.

Whenever we visit GR. We make sure to stop at Mediterranean Island to get HALAL meat and other groceries. Halal meat Section includes Lamb, Goat, Beef and chicken meats. Marinated chicken & Beef shawarma is also included.Apart from that the Deli carries a variety of ready to eat food items. Halal Turkey meat & beef Bologna is available as well.Although the lady who works at the deli carries quite an attitude and can learn a bit or two for better customer service.Great selection of juices, snacks, curry spices/sauces etc . A really nice store for Indian/Pakistani/Arab groceries which cannot be found at other conventional stores.Unfortunately, The only downside about them is carrying Pork products in meat, Frozen section. etc. It would have been so much better if they didnt carry any of it as there are a million other stores carrying that.

The layout of the store made it easy to find the staples and wonder though some new adventures in other flavors.

Amazing selection with the best tasting baklava, breads, and deli items. better than Dearborn fresh market imo. you can find many different countries foods from Croatia to Poland. NEVER CHANGE! just make sure to keep EXTRA stock of your amazing falafel

We checked this out on the recommendation of friends. We enjoyed seeing foods from the Mediterranean region and purchased some because the prices were reasonable. If you want a half aisles worth of olive oil choices, this is your spot. I was also informed you can buy green coffee beans and roast them any way you like when they are roasting.Well be back.

Mediterranean Island is a great store for Mediterranean food. Their deli is excellent! They are my new favorite store. Their garlic sauce, babaganous and hummus tastes just right. They also have many other offerings including an excellent selection of fresh and cured meat.

This is a great Mediterranean specialty foods market. Its a large, clean, well-lit space with good parking.Good selection. Friendly service. I buy sunflower seeds, flax seeds, sesame seeds and cardamom for my breads. Items hard to find or more expensive elsewhere.They have tons of spices too.There are Produce & Meat sections, though I have not bought any of these yet.

The gentleman working the deli counter patiently answered our questions. I really love olives, and thanks to him now have the most delicious olives in my fridge. Todays visit was the first of many more to come. Fresh baked bread. Oh, and the cheese. Three words, my friends: double cream feta.

I live in Holland and make a point to get to Mediterranean Island every time I head into Kentwood/GR . Head home with hummus, falafel, feta, tabouli, baba ghanoush, bourek, from the deli as well as cheeses, decently priced meats. They have an array of international food products that will make your head swim. Love them!

Boyfriend took me to this place forever ago and I loved exploring the variety of foods available and I recommend you to do the same! We got a block of feta for the tiktok pasta

I love everything about this store! They have an amazing selection with 200+ meats and cheeses. Their deli has freshly made baba ganoush, hummus, falafel, grape leaves, hashweh, majadera, kibbeh, mackdous, meat pies, samosa, tabbouleh, kibe, and stuffed cabbage.They fresh bake 13 different kinds of bread, including lepina, Iraqi flat bread, sfeeha, zaatar bread, sesame flat bread, Italian, and pita bread.Other items of interest include unroasted green coffee, hookahs and hookah tobacco, pickled vegetables and the largest selection of spices in town.

This Place is AMAZING!It had everything uppity need up com the best meals: and not just Mediterranean! Mexican, Moroccan, Indian, East and West African.And dont get me started on the Deli Counter: I used to ONLY shop there! Samosas, Bulgarian Feta, Garlic Stuffed Olives, tabouli, garlic paste, fresh hummus, stuffed grape leaves, .... I could go on all night but its TIME TO EAT!

While they offer food stuffs from all types of nationalities, the deli in the back with fresh made mediterranean food (with a Jordanian touch) is where the real delicacies are to be had.While I was disappointed when I moved our business from downtown to the south side, as we would miss out on all the happenings and offerings down there. Not long after, I discovered this little gem and it made to seem all worthwhile.Family-owned business that really cares about serving the needs of their customers. Cant recommend enough!!

I was in there today and I wont be back. If I didnt had a mask on i had a reason for it and frankly its none of your business. I spend a lot of money in there. A general grocery store with an emphasis on Middle Eastern food supplies. Fresh pita bread is great, and there is a wide selection of rice, olives, olive oil, shredded Phylo dough, cheeses, spices, and a deli. Its our favorite place to pick up canned grape leaves, hummus, Tahini, and pine nuts.

The meat here is so fresh. No smell, no feathers on the chicken and no fat! That’s very important to me. Their Berbere spice is breathtaking. I recommend this store to everyone.

This is a place to get hard to find items. Foods from all around the world.

Cevapi is terrible! I just bought a week ago, so dry! Doesn’t even taste like cevapi, basic beef taste. Tommy mayo wasn’t available in large size. And prices are too high. Detroit stores are much cheaper, don’t even get me started on the Burek prices. Everything is overpriced.

Very bad attitude from one of an employer who pushes me to get out because the store closes at 7 pm. It is not polite, they have to respect clients first.

I called and asked if they sold cocktail sauce and I was told yes I said thanks Im on my way inside the store now he said well its on Isle 1 and hung up sure enough it was on Isle 1 but the sad part is I bought it gets home and my girlfriend tell me it outdated so I looked and sure enough expiration date has expired sad waste of time money and a phone call to make sure if I was the owner I would go threw the whole store and check expiration date on all my products

Ive bought quite a few items here over the past few years, and their selection and service has always been good. I love their deli section, and they have great baba ganoush. The borek is really tasty too, although I havent had anything bad here before. The selection of different feta cheeses and breads is good too. They sell injera bread. Definitely a great place for the area.

I was blown away multiple times after visiting this store. They had just remodeled and to put it lightly it is beautiful! Aisle and aisles full of international foods, great deli selection and great prices on everyday foods! The meat counter guy was funny and very polite, and it didnt end there. The front end staff were so polite and friendly. Will return again & again.

My family has been coming here for over 10 + years. It was great to begin with and has only gotten better. Its a family owned operation and they are very polite, nice people. The food selection and variety is very Meditterrenean-centric (hence the name) but it also has a lot of other options. Of youre looking for excellent chocolates and candies as well, they have them from across the world! (The wife has never been disappointed). The deli is fresh and the meat cuts are very good. The pricing for many high end meats is also very good. Theres a good selection of artisan and cured meats as well. All in all, if you like world cuisines and new things, stop reading this and get there already. Dont forget fresh produce andBreads.

Found very hard to find coffee

Love this place. Very weird unique grocer. Every time I go, I buy 2 things Ive never seen or used before, then come up with some bizarre tasty mediteranean dish. Only place in GR that Im aware of with fresh lamb. Owner and the girls answer all my crazy question, and show me new stuff. Really enjoy shopping there. And their prices are very reasonable or less expensive than other shops. Lots of weird kinky spices. Do yourself a flavor....

We love shopping at Mediterranean Island. I like the bulk beans, grains, coffee, nuts, cinnamon, and teas, all reasonably priced. I also like the wide variety of olives and other goodies in the deli. The spices and olive oil are much more reasonably priced than in a run-of-the-mill grocery store. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and if you spend over $50, you get a coupon good for $1 off your next purchase, which is a fun little bonus.

The best place to go for authentic, high quality, Mediterranean and Middle Eastern ingredients. Their prepared food, is so fresh and delicious. Prefect for lunch, dinner and even catering events!! Products are overpriced and there are multiple items that have been expired for a while.

I waited by the customer service for at least 10mins. nobody helped me. So I got what I needed and stood in the check out for at least another 10mins and I was only buying 1 item. You should have an express lane or a employee in customer service. As I was leaving I saw that a different employee went to customer service to help customers, but there were no customers. 😡
