This place is a DREAM! I had a strange gut feeling before walking into Second Dance that i was going to find my wedding dress and i sure did!!!! They have SO MANY DRESSES for super affordable prices. My wedding dress was brand new and still had the tags on. It’s a designer dress and we got it for $800! The atmosphere is cozy and fun. I feel so bad i don’t remember the employees name but she’s really thin and pretty, she’s often featured on Second Dance’s Instagram page. She was super sweet and helpful! We will probably come bag to find a dress for my mom! I would definitely recommend second dance to any bride.

I found my perfect dress here last Saturday. Jackie stayed a half hour after closing to make sure I found the perfect one. The store is super organized, clean, and beautiful. My dress was $500 which is so affordable compared to full priced shops. I drove 3 hours to come here and it was definitely worth the drive! I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a wedding dress! My MOH also found her dress here for under $100 which is awesome!

Found my dress (and many good contenders) in about an hour and a half. Stephanie was very helpful and even scheduled an appointment for me on a day they were closed to help me out. I found better options here than what I found scanning the internet for hours, and going to a well known boutique in Lansing, and ordering 10 others online. Very relevant options. I’m overall impressed and would highly recommend!!!

Dress shopping here was such a wonderful experience! This was my first stop when wedding dress shopping and it turned out to be a great place to start. The setting was very supportive and there were lots of options without being totally overwhelming! Had a great selection and pricing was better than any other store I looked! I really enjoyed being able to look online and already have an idea of what dresses I’d like to try on! But keep in mind, wedding dress sizes suck and never are consistent with actual size. So that was the only downside. Other than that, found my dress and also my mother in-law and sister in-laws dresses as well!

My daughter is plus sized and weve had a hard time finding her a prom dress. I found this place on Google. They were amazing! They had a great selection of dresses in all sizes! I went to Second Dance for my second appointment ever to try on dresses. I had absolutely no idea what I really wanted and had a lot of conflicting opinions from my bridal party. Stephanie was absolutely amazing in helping me narrowing down, and ultimately choosing my dream dress. I came back after my appointment alone and it was an even better experience and Stephanie offered her opinion and really helped me!I had gone to a big bridal store prior to coming to Second Dance and had a terrible experience. They were extremely pushy and only cared about making a sale. The experience at Second Dance was a complete 180 and couldn’t have been better! Thank you Stephanie!!

Went to three other dress shops in the area with no luck. Stopped in here and found three dresses for less than the price of one at the other shops. The owner, Stephanie, is awesome and very helpful. Highly recommend!

It is a lovely store and it is in a great location. We were welcomed in during our appointment time. However, there were maybe 10 dresses at the most for my daughters size. We knew right away there wasnt anything we wanted. It was difficult to get out the door. Stephanie spoke to us like we were faulty shoppers. Most people know what they want type of phrases. We did know. We just wanted to see if there were more options at her store. She said the gal before us didnt like anything at first either but she left happy. Maybe it is a cultural thing or a generational thing. I dont like backhanded sales tactics. I believe the customer is right. If I dont like something. Dont take it personally. When I walk in and in under five minutes know I am walking out, dont treat me like there is something wrong with me.

Second Dance has a wonderful selection of Wedding dresses, and so many affordable options. What a perfect budget friendly, sustainable alternative to shopping for a retail price wedding dress- you still end up with something beautiful and high end, but at a fraction of the price. I looked at a lot of second hand dresses online, but it was so much better to be able to try them on. Stephanie, the owner was so friendly and helpful. I ended up with a dress I love that retailed for 4x what I paid at Second Dance. Highly recommend!

I visited Second Dance as a maid of honor - the vibes of this place are AWESOME. The owner really knows her stuff, and ended up with the bride finding her dress AND a veil for under $200! Ill definitely be coming here to look for my wedding dress in the future.

Randomly decided to stop in as a walk in with my partner and had a really disappointing experience with the sales associate. We are getting married next year and were in great spirits as we were prepping to meet with wedding vendors so thought this would be fun. My partner is plus-sized and was excited that there were dresses in her size but the sales associate only seemed to care about my partner’s size. She never asked anything about what she might be looking for, our wedding’s vibe, or anything like that. I know we were a walk in but we were also the only people in the store who were actually shopping.When my partner found some things to try on, the sales person hesitated and said something along the lines of “let’s try the bigger size first and then come back to this”. We understand that wedding dress sizes vary, but it was really annoying to have a stick-thin person constantly talking about size. It just felt fatphobic. The most ridiculous part of all was when we were leaving and the sales associate was telling us she could look for things if my partner wanted to show her a Pinterest board and then said “I’m really good at my job” I almost laughed out loud. Sorry, you really aren’t. The store was cool though!

We came to second dance bridal at our scheduled appointment. The door was locked, we tried to call the number on line and no one answered. We attempted to knock on the door again no answer. Very disappointing.

I had an AMAZING experience here! Stephanie was so so helpful and I loved that she wasn’t pushy or trying to just “make a sale” like the other places I went to. I found the most perfect dress that I wasn’t able to find anything like it anywhere else and the prices made me so happy!

This is a wonderful store for new or like new prom dresses and bridal gowns. The women were friendly and knowledgeable about alterations, shoes, jewelry, etc. They had a nice selection of varied sizes. We plan to return here again next year for a prom dress.

I liked that when I tried on dresses, there were no other customers in the store, so I was able to use all the space available. The store owner was not very involved, the seamstress was much more involved while I was trying on dresses. There was a lot of variety of dresses. Make sure to bring a few friends or family members with you to help with pulling dresses/trying on/giving opinions because I did not get any of that from the owner.

The two lady’s I had interaction with were rude. Nice dress but not the service.

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. The “sales associate”, Stephanie, was extremely unhelpful. The seamstress was a better sales associate than she was. She chastised my mom for looking and pulling other dresses, when she was off having conversations with other customers. Stephanie was absent the whole appointment. When I got stuck in a dress, she swore under her breath and got upset with me. She continued to pull dresses that were things that I explicitly told her I did not like. She made my experience horrible. Not only that but after trying on a few dresses, she told I could leave and she wouldn’t be offended. I will not he returning there.

I have always loved the idea of shopping second hand. I am a thrifter at heart, so finding a second hand wedding gown was bound to happen for me. I love Second Dance because it allows people to share their dresses from special events and moments in their life with others, and theres something unique about that. The customer service at Second Dance was the best I received from any bridal store in West Michigan (and I visited several!). Stephanie helped pull gowns off the rack that matched the style I was looking for, and it was such a great experience. Being the indecisive person I am, I couldnt commit to buying the dress the night I tried it on, but Stephanie gave me a number I could reach her at in the morning if I decided I wanted to buy it. I was up at 3am the next morning thinking about the dress so I knew it must be the one. Stephanie was willing to work with me, and get the dress set aside for me to come pick up. I am so excited about my wedding dress, and I would highly recommend Second Dance. There are so many styles and price points! I bought my dress for under $500 and there was even one that I loved for $150! My sister found her bridesmaid dress there, and it was just overall an amazing experience. Shop small, shop local, shop second hand! :)

Highly recommend! As a plus size bride, I was hesitant to shop off the rack. I just didnt think I would have any luck, however, there were plenty of options! After checking out multiple bridal salons and trying on dress after dress, I was becoming overwhelmed. Too many consultants making too many alteration promises to make a dress become what i actually wanted. At Second Dance, not only did I find my dream dress under my budget, but I also was guided into feeling confident about my alteration options. Security is everything when buying a dress. My experience was okay I didn’t vibe well with the seamstress and thought she wasn’t very helpful or friendly which led so me being irritated and stressed, it really took away from the bridal experience and which Im sad about, but in the end Stephanie ended up helping us out and everything went so much better! I found my dress :)

I called to check on my dress sale and was elated when they told me it sold and my share would be $1,600. When I showed up to pick up the check, I was informed my share was only $700. It’s very frustrating but the owner did work with me very quickly to correct the miscommunication.

Second Dance is a sweet little boutique with a ton of options! From gowns to accessories, I was pleased with all that was available. I had a great experience looking for a veil for my wedding to match my dress. They had multiple options, some of which were brand new and had never been used. After a lot of searching at other stores I was amazed to find a veil that had never been used at a great discount! The staff were very friendly and accommodating helping us find veils and providing options that fit the description of what I was looking for. Had a great experience here 10/10 and would recommend.

It’s up to date, informative and easy to use. I was able to pre-screen for dresses that I liked to save time during my appointment. When I got to my appointment I appreciated the COVID procedures and privacy I had to shop. Stephanie was so much fun to shop with and it made shopping alone (Thanks, COVID!) much more enjoyable! I ended up finding a dress that I LOVED and the price was incredible. I now have hanging in my closet a beautiful, nearly one-of-a-kind, designer gown that blew all of my expectations out of the water. Thank you so SO much to Stephanie and Second Dance!!

I LOVE Second Dance! I have shopped here frequently for all of my special events and never fail to find something beautiful, unique, and affordable. The staff has always been incredibly friendly and make great suggestions -- oftentimes they recommend dresses that I wouldnt have selected for myself but I end up LOVING! The owner of the shop has even gone out of her way to assist me several times! I also really like that they have an in-house seamstress -- she has been a great resource to me when a dress doesnt fit quite right. I also have consigned a few dresses here, and I really appreciate that they have a thorough contract. It gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing exactly what is going to be done with my special dresses! Overall, I could not recommend this store more highly! Definitely check it out next time you need some formal wear!

I have shopped at second dance multiple times. I have bought my wedding dress, and countless high school dance dresses. I wanted to have a day with my bridesmaids and go to second dance for my girls to try on dresses and have my mom and mother in law look for their dresses. I texted the owner before hand and let her know that I would be bringing a lot of people and that we were not thinking of buying anything. She said it was all good and we were good to come in. I told her I was bringing 12 people and she said all 8 of us could try on dresses during my hour and a half appointment time. We arrived and she didnt remember texting me. As more of my people arrived she was shocked that this many people were there. The dressing rooms were also almost full. We all arrived and she didnt remember 8 of us wanted to try on at the same time. I told her we were probably just going to try on and she said we were not allowed. Even though I had previously asked. After a long conversation she said since we had driven so far we could try on dresses. Unfortunately it was a horrible experience and we left. We had bought so many dresses there before and I asked before we showed up. I was very unhappy with the service that I received and I will not be going back.

I shop with my daughter every year. Love the selection and prices. Customer service has be great every time. But I was sad and upset how they treated a young girl yesterday. When a customer brings something to your attention they should be treated with respect. I was shock how she was treated.

We stopped in without an appointment and Stephanie helped us so much. She endured us trying multiple gowns and was always willing to answer questions and even picked out the wedding dress that I ended up picking.

I showed up for my appointment to look for a veil about 10 minutes early before my appointment (10:30). I waited outside for about 5 minutes before walking across the street to wait in my car. I was watching for someone because the door was locked, lights were off, etc. I tried calling at 10:35 but no answer. This is a huge bummer because I’ve been wanting to shop and support this local business for a while, but to me this was extremely unprofessional that nobody was at the store when I had made an appointment time. 😕

Went with a friend on a Saturday afternoon to have 2 dresses (freshly steamed, on hangers, in garment bags) looked at for consignment. To my surprise, the store was completely empty, except for 2 employees at the front desk. After entering the shop, the 2 employees did not acknowledge us until I finally said that Id like my dresses reviewed. Before even offering a greeting, one asked if the dresses had been professionally cleaned. One dress had never been worn, and the other was worn during a Sunday morning wedding. I had steamed both at home, and thought they looked perfectly fine. The employee took 5 seconds to look at both of them, said she saw smudges and handed them back to me before I could even see what she was talking about. My friend and I left stunned by the poor customer service. Tone, attitude, and customer service is everything - after having several friends successfully purchase dresses here, I was disappointed by this experience and dont plan on returning.

Wow Courtney, emailing a store on Christmas night at 10:00 PM at night is pretty rude, to ask about looking at gowns. Video clearly shows her helping you, when you go gown shopping without an appointment and there is only one employee working and she is busy, you should know you have to wait your turn. But to lie about the store is just plain rude!!!!!!

Tried on wedding dresses here, their selection was large and the owner was very helpful and had lots of good advice and very knowledgeable on what styles would fit me best. very helpful and good at her job!

Been coming here ever since they opened and it is amazing how the business has grown! The owner is always in shop and always very willing to work with you and help you find the perfect dress for any occasion! I consigned a couple of my dresses and it has worked out splendidly. Definitely would recommend to anyone to anyone who wants to clear their closet of any old dresses or if they are looking for prom, homecoming, or a wedding dress!

I went shopping everywhere for a classy black dress and couldn’t settle on any. When I walked into this store I was greeted and instructed right where to look! I immediately found one I LOVED but I need one size up. I was about in tears and the owner said let me make a phone call....she took all this extra time calling on this dress and found the last one in my size! She ordered and it came a few days later!!! This store and owner are AMAZING!!

This place is amazing.I made over $200 on my daughters prom dresses! They display your items for a year and once they sell you just come and pick up your earnings! They know how to price your dresses too. They know their brands and quoted what they thought I could make before I left the store with the dresses.They were very clear with how their consignment worked and gave me a copy, ( I feel like this is important because without a contract you really have no say on what a consignment shop can do with your items.)My daughters have bought from here too and the selection is amazing! Every size, a good selection of mall brands and high end brands, and all of the dresses were in wonderful condition and trending! ( My girls were all worried this place would have old, or ugly dresses, but it was the complete opposite. Most of the dresses still had tags on them!This place is a hidden gem and I wish more people would shop local because I can tell the girls at second dance really love what they do.

Dont expect to make any money off your dresses. I had three dresses that were average size for a combined value of $1,000+ I only received a check for $28.08 I think the store has beautiful dresses and is great for a buyer but not for the seller. Second Dance values their contracts more then their customers. I personally felt taken advantage of, I was told that they thought all the dresses would go quickly but that I needed to get my wedding dress cleaned first. We spent 120$ on the cleaning. Turns out the dress didnt sell so they donated it. I was going to sell my dresses online and I wish we had because now were out 100$ and I didnt get my wedding dress back.

Dont judge a book by its cover! There is a hidden gem on Leonard Street in this store! You wont be disappointed. Lots of selection - short and long gowns. Very responsible, polite, young businesswoman in charge. Store is very clean and they are ready to help you find YOUR dress. Put something on consignment there, too. Very reasonable.
