Trust is important in the auto repair service industry and German Auto Services has definitely earned our trust! We have serviced our BMW and Audi here for years. They are very personable and I can always rely on them to take the time to fully explain issues and recommended repairs. Theyre also upfront on which repairs are urgent or which can be safely deferred. Most importantly weve never had an issue with any of the work that theyve performed on the cars.

The service advisor Josh was excellent. He kept in constant communication with me on my vehicle status via texts. I was impressed with estimates including pictures of my vehicle, parts that needed replacing, etc...all right on my phone. The new facility is beautiful. You could eat off the floor in the shop....very clean and organized.

Went in to get a diagnostic on a coolant system leak, wasn’t scheduled for a month out for the service, Ben called me and said I can get you in sooner….dropped my car off on a Friday they looked at it that day told me the issue, waited till Monday to have them order the parts I needed and I had the car done on Thursday! I’m having a problem with a Mercedes transmission. The local MB dealer had the car for the ENTIRE summer of 2020 and never solved the problem.... On the advice of a good friend, I gave German Auto Service a try. They did all the diagnoses they could without tearing the trans apart and came to the conclusion that I should try the dealer again. There are additional details that led German Auto to believe the Mercedes should stand by a prior repair and fix the car for me. I’m thankful for their opinion as I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars!! I truly appreciate German Auto’s honesty and integrity. They’ve earned my future business!

This is an amazing place. I was looking for a place to service my BMW. The dealerships we’re quoting me a large sum of money to fix small repairs. So I was referred to German Auto from a trusted friend. I can’t even tell you how happy I am. They are fair, trustworthy, kind, and professional. I would highly recommend this place and they are now my only place that will service my BMW. I drive from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids just for their service.

I heard good things about German Auto so I thought I would give them a try. I brought my vehicle in to them, it was a crank no start condition. They got the vehicle running (poorly) which was fine for the situation. They told me the vehicle fires right up, idles, and they even drove it around the block. I went to pick it up (25 minute drive for me) after they have had it for 2 weeks, I went to start it and the battery was dead, they got me a jump pack and the vehicle was a crank no start still. So I waited 2 hours in their parking lot for them while they were messing with it. Ended up not taking it home that night, they called me next day said it was good to go, I drove to get it again, it fired right up- I drove it to trailer and it stalled, tried to start it again and it was a crank no start again!! 2 weeks and nearly $1000 later I still had to push my vehicle on the trailer, they said it wasn’t running well enough??? Why did it ever start in the first place? What did they do to get it going the first and second time?? They know I am not happy with the service and didn’t seem to care, I would have thought the decent thing to do is at least give me some sort of break on my bill- this was not the case! I was not impressed!EDIT- So if you had no plans of getting the vehicle to start %100 of the time why was I told to come back the next day when I tried to pick it up? Why was I called and told it’s good to go? And yes I was lead to believe it would at least start for me, you guys had it starting multiple times with no issues in your yard. When I went to pick it up the first time there was nowhere in the work order that stated there is still a starting problem. You messed with it and now it won’t. Like you said a new problem developed at your shop, how is that my issue?? I needed it to start reliably so when my base mechanical issue was warrantied by the builder I would have a running engine, now you just want me to bring it back again for a no start issue so you can keep charging me. Also the mechanic that was working on it is also an owner of the place, those after hours are on him, not me, because I was waiting to take it home that night and it should have been ready to go, but he’s a business owner and probably understands sometimes you have to do those things to keep happy/returning customers. Unfortunately this one didn’t work out, but doesn’t look very good when that’s your excuse for not giving me some of my money back.

The service team is excellent and communicates frequently and professionally. I would not bring my vehicle anywhere else because they do the best job.

All of the guys in the shop were professional and very friendly, top notch customer service! New software is user friendly and the pics included are a great way to view and document your cars issues. I felt I was dealt with fairly and honestly when asking about what absolutely should be addressed during this visit and what could wait. The process of dropping off the car and picking it up was easy. I also received texts and e-mails as to the progress of the work. German Auto Service (GAS) is absolutely fantastic. I recently bought an 06 Audi A4 and was nervous about finding a mechanic who would provide quality work on an older, high end European car. When my car broke down, GAS quickly repaired my car with excellent service. GAS may not be the cheapest place to take your vehicle, but if want your fancy European car to receive a quality and timely fix with excellent customer service, this is the place to go.

I’ve taken my VW here for service a few times since I moved to GR 3 years ago. Convenient location for me. The place is almost sterile. CLEAN! All I can is wow! These guys are awesome in every department. To start off I am familiar with cars and have worked on them for awhile but one area I am not great at is chasing electrical issues. I had a mini cooper that turned out to be a nightmare after I bought it and German Auto saved it after discovering multiple issues. German Auto was not only willing to work with me on the repairs but their part prices were competitive. I really liked how they made you involved with the repair every step of the way and were willing to explain an issue in a dumb down version if I did not know what they were talking about. This was my first time using them and it will definitely not be the last. Highly recommend!

Beautiful shop owned and operated by true German auto enthusiasts. I was only there for a simple battery reset which was done in about an hour while I waited. I happily waited outside due to the current social distancing guidelines which were strictly adhered to. The contactless transaction went smoothly and they even disinfected all touch points inside my car before turning it back over to me.

I have a 2005 SL500 which overall, is in great condition. Like any car that is over 15 years old, things happen that need to be addressed.I recently had a hydraulic fluid leak that was hard (for me) to identify. I took it to German Auto Service and the issue was quickly identified and taken care of.They worked with me on scheduling the repair as I live out of town had had a limited schedule to get things done.As, always, they were proactive and transparent throughout the entire process. Took my Volkswagen R32 here for a timing chain service and to get a few other parts fitted. Ben was extremely up front with all of the required costs and handled the service very well. German Auto Service, LTD customer service is paramount! The facilities are extremely clean. The staff were very polite and professional the entire time my car was being serviced. I received frequent updates on the status of my repair. Also the staff were extremely patient with me when I asked detailed questions. Id like to give a special acknowledgement to staff Ben and Joe. They both in my opinion exemplify a level of professionalism that I wished all auto repair staff obtained.

Being a car enthusiast/gearhead it is very difficult for me to bring my car somewhere to have it serviced as I tend to do all of my own work. This time, out of convenience, I opted to have someone else do the work on my F10 BMW 550i and i was nothing less than impressed with the guys over at GAS. They were very upfront throughout the entire process, kept me informed with how things were going and got the job done in a timely manner. I plan on using them again in the future and would highly recommend them.
