Deacon Jones Hyundai was by far the best car buying experience I have ever had. The team made so easy that I was able to get the deal and the car was brought to by front door. All of this only took a total of 5 hours including the car droop off. If you need a car call Deacon Jones Hyundai.
When you walk in you have to get their attention at the service department no one will speak to you or acknowledge you and that shouldβve been my first clue. I took my car there for service which needed a part a part that I have since found that is on back order and they have no clue of when itβs coming in. I do not blame them for this as we know how the world is at the moment but what I cannot understand is how a service department does not call you or let you know of whatβs going on and the status of your vehicle for weeks. They also have no plan except for my car to sit there until some undisclosed amount of time for some mystery part they donβt know when they can even get. No resolve no service. Oh and the construction thatβs going on there at their dealership has left me with a flat tire that I have to deal with now a flat tire I did not have before taking it to their illustrious establishment. Horrible.
Im sorry to say but this is the worst iv been treated at a dealership. My cousin wanted to try a Hyundai and mabye switch from a Toyota man to a Hyundai. Rude customer service the salesman kept cutting me off when I was trying to translate to my cousin. We wanted to test drive it. He said we need to get approved first. Iv bought plenty of cars and this the first time I had to get approved before I went in the car. And then they wouldnt even budge on the price which was fine with us because my cousin really liked the car and was going to go ahead and buy it until we talked to the guy at the desk that my cousin is a new Hyundai customer but he wouldnt even hear it and basically just laughed at us which was disrespectful. Like no conversation whatsoever. I mean thats what you do, you negotiate, you convinceyour customers about the car the price and everythingin between. Long story short we went to Honda and found a beatiful car and loved it and loved the price they gave us and how they worked with us on the car. I do not recommend anybody going to Hyundai. That experience ruined Hyundai for me and dont plan on getting one anytime soon.
Deacon Jones Hyundai wasted my time, my money and my patience. This was the absolute worst experience Iβve ever had at a car dealership in my life, and Iβve had my share. I bought a car through a dealer trade and the car came with cosmetic damage to the bumper.I waited over a month. Enough is enough.The dealership gave me a loaner while they fixed the βnewβ car, meanwhile taking my trade-in. However, they failed to mention that my trade-in was still my responsibility. So while I drove their loaner, I had failed to pay for my car because I did not know they hadnβt paid it off. I was 21 days past due on my payment and had I not called my previous car company, I would have had a ding to my credit in no time.Finance manager was very unprofessional in not giving me the promised call back regarding the status of my pay-off. Pretty sure thatβs a big deal, donβt you think?The fix on the βnew carβ was getting delayed so I basically paid to drive a loaner that wasnβt even close in class to my own car. I will NEVER be back and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The communication is pure garbage and nothing was offered to remedy the situation, not even an apology. This is unacceptable and disgusting. I might as well have never given them my car had I known it would just sit there in their lot for a month and I would still be responsible for it. Stupid of me, I guess.But I have to give credit where itβs due. Matt the service manager and Kadrian the salesman were great and the two most professional people I had interacted with. They deserve a raise.

Do not buy a car here! The financing office cannot get their information together. They call and ask questions that you have already answered with 3 different people. The people calling dont know why they are asking the questions. License plates dont get transferred. Just general incompetence all around. I would never recommend someone going to buy here unless it is literally the last option you have.

I swore that I would never go back to Deacon Jones Hyundai due to the horrible experience the last time I was there!! It happened to be the one time I didnt have Joey Combs assist me, and the gentleman I had worked with put a bad taste in my mouth with his poor customer service!! After 2 days, and 6 mechanics telling me they didnt know what was wrong with my car or couldnt diagnose it for one reason or another, I hesitantly returned to Hyundai out of desperation to find out what was wrong!! I went right to Joey, and by the end was crying tears of joy!! Exceptional customer service!! I am not one to write negative reviews, I will just take my business elsewhere, Im glad I returned today!! Please dont ever let him go!!

The last couple of times Ive visited this dealership, Ive had great customer service but today was disappointing. I called today to inquire about a recall on the vehicle and other services needed, which included prices and the man that I spoke with today was extremely rude and had no sense of customer service.

Worst dealership I have ever done business with.* Only one key to the vehicle- No effort made to try and obtain a second key. Had to spend almost $300.00 to have a second key made.* No service sticker in the window. Had the Ford dealership service the vehicle only to find out this dealership serviced it but did not place the sticker in the windshield.* No after purchase follow up. This disappointed me because typically Deacon Jones dealerships are good about this.* Wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! My daughter took her 2016 Hyundai in for a trunk that stopped opening. Trunk was accessible by using the emergency latch inside the car, but the trunk release on outside of car and key bob release stopped working. Dealership sends me quote for $397.33 to fix trunk, $130.00 for diagnostic, and other Requires immediate attention actions (brake job, coolant flush and additional brake flush) for a grand total of over $1200.00!! I call to inquire about whats going on with the trunk and the Service Advisor (SA) lets me know that diagnostic is what dealership does to determine cause of the problem. He then proceeds to tell me the trunk release mechanism is broken. SA doesnt know, but Im a A&P licensed aircraft mechanic, so I figure Im pretty good around mechanical stuff. I ask specifically whatβs wrong with trunk latch; he tells me again that its broken. I then educate the young man on how this trunk release works. I explain to him that theres a mechanical component, and an electrical component. I tell him know that mechanical component is obviously still working as my daughter can get the trunk to open from inside the car. I then ask him about the electronic component (Actuator). He doesnt have a clue of what Iβm talking about, but proceeds to tell me again that the release mechanism is broken. At that point, I let him know that I owe him for a diagnostic that I didnβt need as they havenβt told me anything that I didnβt already know when I took the car in.FTR, the repair estimate these folks wrote up have the βPrimaryβ jobs for the work that needed to be done as a Diagnostic service and a multi-point inspection. The real reason I took the car in for repair, is listed under the βAdditional Service Recommendationsβ portion of the repair estimate. Yeahβ¦.wonβt be coming back to these guys.In case anyone is wondering, a new actuator for the rear hatch on these vehicles is less than $50. Time to replace the bad actuator is a little less than an hour. Only tools required are a trim removal tool, a couple of screwdrivers and a couple of ratchets.
I purchased a vehicle here in 2019 and it had a scratch on it that they initially told me they would fix this being my salesman and Jennifer the sales manager. Well when it came time to fix it they said βoh well we can send you a paint marker in the mailβ even though the scratch repair was noted in the contract upon purchasing the vehicle. I also called and asked about the spare key which they told me the previous over brought to them and they would send me in the mail. Itβs been over a year now and i have gotten neither of these things. I have called and called i even went as far as emailing the Hyundai corporation. Iβve never been so disappointed in any services Iβve received from anywhere dealing with customer service. 10/10 would NOT recommend you go here, ever.

My experience here is perhaps the most pleasant car buying experience Ive ever had. David Fredrick was an awesome sales associate who never once tried to pressure me into buying more than I both could afford and needed. In fact every person there I either spoke to in passing or had interaction with was beyond polite and helpful. I am very glad I chose to do business with them and will probably drive back there when the day ever comes to get another vehicle. Bravo Zulu!!!Added Two Months Later...While the initial experience was outstanding its everything that has happened since then that resulted in me taking two stars off.First it took them almost a month and a half to get the trade-in paid off and many, many phone calls to the dealership to try and get this resolved. While this was going on I was getting multiple phone calls daily from that finance company and having late payments showing up in my account with them that is now reflected in my credit report. Second, I kept the tags off my trade-in and they said Id have my new registration paperwork from the state within a month. That was June 7th and its not July 29th and I just got off the phone with them where they said I needed to get them a FS1 form. It took almost two months and a phone call from me to find this out.So while I will give high marks for the initial sales experience everything since that first day has been a dumpster fire. More than likely I will not be giving them any more of my business.
I went to have service done on my 2018 Hyundai Elantra. Its having a rough idle and trying to stall when I stop but because my car wouldnt replicate what it had been doing with me with the technician they said they couldnt do anything.

I would recommend this place to everyone we loved it the whole staff very friendly and nice and everything was sanitized and very clean they made sure that we were well hydrated and offered us a donut as well they went out of their way to help us get a new car and a payment we were comfortable with. My recent visit to Deacon Jones Hyundai was a pleasant experience under the circumstances. My tire pressure light came on while driving home from work and I called the dealership. I was told that I didnt need an appointment and to bring my car in and they would check it out for me. Once I arrived my car was immediately taken and shortly afterwards I was briefed on the problem. My car was fixed and ready to go within an hour. I was pleased with the prompt attention to my vehicle and the professional, friendly staff. Thank you Deacon Jones Hyundai staff!

I pulled into DJ hyundai friday morning just at opening with an oil leak. I explained that i was traveling from MD to FL and discovered the engine leak/smoking at 4:30 am at a nearby rest stop and that my home dealership had recently done major work on the engine. Joey got my car in the shop right away, they got me fixed under warranty and back on the road around 1pm. In a stressful situation it was a wonderful reminder of southern hospitality and darned good customer service. Thanks for being there. From your shop I made it to my destination without issue.

I called at least 6 other shops within an hour of me (Hyundai and non-Hyundai) and all the other ones (1) had no idea what was wrong with my car based on my description and (2) they said they too busy and probably wouldnβt be able to assess my car for another week.I called Deacon Jones Hyundai of Goldsboro and spoke with Jason who was very respectful and knowledgeable. He (1) was already familiar with the issue with my car just based off my description over the phone (2) said that although they had many cars in line to be assessed, they are working quickly and efficiently and would be able to get to my car as soon as possible. My car was fixed in less than 2 business days!! Highly recommend!

Sent My Daughter to have warranty work done Ended up just leaving. We did not buy this car from them (but have bought several from them) so they dont want to help us with it. First they say we did not have an appointment after I called three days ago and made it. Not willing to help told her maybe can get in in a few hours. That is why I made an appointment so we would not take all day to get this done. Could not find the car in the system and treated her like it is our fault. For a service department all they wanted to do was get out of doing anything. Bought my last car from Deacon Jones Group.

We drove me and my wife over 1 hour on Saturday to look at palisade limited that they told us they have it. When we got there they told us its not on the lot but its on the way and they will have it on the lot on Monday or Tuesday.We decide to get a different color carthey said its not available either, I asked if they can get it for us. They agree and it will be delivered to our house on Tuesday or Wednesday. We signed the papers and we paid for it. We went home happy. On Wednesday we got the car in our drive way. I drove it inside the garage. While in the garage I notice a windshield chip, and scratches around the car: on the hood, front bumper, back bumper, by the side mirrors, .... I look at the milage and it was 675 π². The papers has 10 miles. This is not new car anymore. I paid $50,000 For hyundai palisade limited. I call them and they apologize and said they will fix it. I did check the carfax report and history and found out it was in another state and it was listed for $3000 less than they charged me. I asked them to give me a credit, since the car been used and has all these scratches and high milage as a new car.They refuse. They came and took the car. After one week, they bring the car back to me. I was not home, my son got the key from them. I came home that day and found out the car still have scratches, and the chip and one more scratch add to the old ones. A marker ink on the back bumper on one of the scratches very noticeable like a child playing with the marker. only one scratch is gone. I called back and they told me they will take it back and fix it. The milage went to 800 already by driving it back and forth. I dont trust them any more. I am not giving them my car again.Advise: dont pay for a car that you dont see with your eyes. If they dont have a car go somewhere else.After we signed the papers we cant return it. We paid $50,000 for a suppose to be a new car with high milage and scratches all over it. Bad Experience.

Unsuccessful in scheduling a Saturday service appointment in the area that I live in, I was able to schedule a Saturday appointment in Goldsboro for a tire rotation and an oil and filter change while visiting family nearby. The Service Advisor was efficient and effective in processing my vehicle upon arrival. The two man service team delivered the vehicle within a reasonable time frame. The vehicle was clean, no hand or footprints resulting from the servicing. I remain grateful for the Saturday service opportunity and the efficient manner in which the service was conducted.
Could have been 5 stars, but only earned 2. From the start they were on top of it and I could definitely tell they wanted to earn our business. The Sales Manager spent half the day tracking down the vehicle we were interested in purchasing and found one in VA. Due to the fact Hyundais special financing offer was about to expire, the wife and I drove up to Goldsboro (an hour from our house) to buy the new vehicle - sight unseen. Glenn Porter was our salesman and he was an absolute joy to work with. The 2 star review has nothing to do with him. Glenn actually stayed an hour late the next day, made sure the car was ran through detail, and was sent through the shop for a NC inspection. Glenn then drove the car to meet me and my wife and picked up the loaner we were given the night before. Here is where it went south....I purchased the vehicle for $51,600, but didnt see the window sticker until we took delivery and the MSRP was $49,600. I was charged $2,000 OVER MSRP and had I seen the window sticker, prior to purchasing, we would have passed and kept our 2020 Kia Telluride SX. I called the sales manager prior to posting this review, to give him time to correct what I assumed was an obvious clerical error, but he informed me that it was done on purpose. My wife and I have bought over 20 vehicles since we got married and this was the first time we were EVER charged over MSRP for a new car. Needless to say we will not be purchasing another vehicle from Deacon Jones Hyundai in Goldsboro. Hope this review keeps someone else from making the same mistake we did.
I called for a parts reference and the guys at the parts department were more than glad to assist me. My wife is thinking of buying a Hyundai so this will be our first stopUpdate.....purchased my wife a new Veloster this afternoon. The Deacon Jones team went above and beyond our expectations to get the deal done. Staff was very patient as we were deciding which direction to go. At this point I would recommend them to anyone. The whole process was flawless from beginning to end.

The work was done well and efficiently, everything was clean and orderly, but I miss the folks who were there before the new owner/ management takeover. There was a comfort in being recognized and welcomed by familiar faces. Perhaps, over time, the newness will wear off and become the familiar again.

I have had experiences with auto dealerships in the past, that I would not consider pleasant. I had done a fair amount of research prior to starting to physically starting to shop for a new vehicle. I had called ahead to make sure the dealership was open, since it was a holiday. When we arrived we met Roger and were very pleased with his welcome to us and his friendly and professional mannerism. We had a comfortable feeling with him from the beginning. He took a few minutes to understand what we were looking for, and proceeded to show us the actual vehicle we ultimately purchased. He was able to answer all our questions, or obtain answers very quickly. He offered us a test drive--encouraged both of us to drive and get a feel for the car. Good job Roger! We came back to pick up the car the next day (knowing that it was Rogers day off). Daniel met us the next day and did a very pleasant job of explaining everything we needed to know to take possession of the vehicle.

Having originally purchased my vehicle out-of-state, I visited this dealership to have a recall notice serviced and 100,000+ mile preventive maintenance. Additionally, the check airbag light was on and I asked for that to be looked at as well. I was informed prior to the appointment as to the cost of each service. While my vehicle was being serviced I received a call regarding the airbag module along details related to ordering the part and options for having it installed. I felt reassured of my choice to use this dealership when I was told the mechanic checked the brake fluid and it did not need changed at this time. He could have said it needed changed and I wouldnt have known the difference. I appreciated his honesty! When the new airbag module was installed a couple of days later, it was projected to take one hour. I waited for it to be installed and as luck would have it, the appointment took two hours instead of one. During my wait I was certain I would incur additional charges for the unexpected labor time. Surprisingly, I was only charged what I had been quoted. Once again, my decision to have service performed at Lee Hyundai was confirmed by the integrity of the Service Department employees.

A great dealer! Have purchased two cars from Lee Hyundai. Needed a little cosmetic repair on the interior of my 2015, so I drove by today without an appointment. A very kind and thoughtful lady spoke with me at the service desk, asked me to have a seat in waiting. In less than 10 minutes the Service Manager was working on the problem, the great staff in Parts fixed me up with correct part and I was on my way. My salute to this excellent service department.

Service technician was very knowledgeable and provided answers to questions. Ammenties provided in waiting area made wait time enjoyable. Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The day before the snow storm I called the service department to see if they could squeeze me in to replace existing front bald tires with two new tires I had bought through the Air Force Base Exchange that morning. The Service associate said he was full but would fit me in and if I could come now. Considering how busy they were less then two hours later my tires were installed and 2 recalls also were taken care of for only a mere $35.00 ! Outstanding Customer Service and Support! Many Thanks from a two car Hyundai family !!!!!

Third Hyundai we have bought from Lee-canβt day enough positive things about them. Bought our first 5 years ago after some negative issues with Hyundai in Raleigh. Dealt with Rick Diaz then and he was polite, knowledgeable and gave us by far the best deal of the four places I had looked into. This purchase we dealt with Roger in sales, Andrew in finance and Jennifer at the front desk. All were extremely friendly, and not in a pushy sales way, knowledgeable and helpful. They gave us what I considered to be a fair deal from the beginning. Even invited us back to watch the air show and gave us lunch while we were there. I would highly recommend going to Lee in Goldsboro.

Charged me over $200 for four new spark plugs. Not including labor. These same spark plugs are $10 for a box of four at auto zone and a child could install them. Ive never gone back after that and cant recommend it to anyone. The waiting area is a couch in the open - very loud and no privacy offered.
