This review is long overdue but written with much gratitude and appreciation for work done on our daughter’s Mini Cooper. During our cross country drive from Clemson, SC to Aspen, CO her car starting leaking oil. We coasted our way into Aspen and starting looking for a reputable auto repair shop. We found European Auto Werks, talked to them via phone and then brought the car in. From the first conversation thru diagnosis to fixing the car we experienced nothing short of exceptional service. We were able to leave our daughter with a well running car that has been performing at its peak from that day onward. Thank you European Auto Werks!!Go Tigers!

These guys are great. My car had trouble on a cross country trip and they helped get it diagnosed very quickly. They have great customer service and were super helpful in getting the car to California. The new management team really cares about their customers and they even followed up with me later to be sure everything went ok.

:Theres a new sheriff in town and European Auto Werks has new owners! Darren, Amber and Mike could not have been nicer to deal with. My older Audi was a fast diagnosis but not an easy repair because the replacement part needed was not available from the manufacturer. After a fruitless search for a used part Darren repaired the existing harness and got me back on the road. It took a while but the honest updates and good communication made the process easier. I got the feeling that Darren and his team truly care about their customers.

The team at European auto werks have been a dream to work with. My car had pretty bad water damage from a leak in the sunroof that accumulated all winter plus the drive train was completely shot. Amber and the team worked extremely hard to diagnose the issues, provide a very clear list of repairs needed, and got things fixed very quickly! A pleasure to work with. Very professional and made me feel like I was (and my car was) in the best hands 🙏🏼

I have done business with European auto for over 15 years. I’ve known John and Charlie as friends for all those years. Now that Rick, Darren and Nathan have taken over the busines the value is just as good as ever. I honestly feel they care just as much about my car as I do. I have a 2004 330xi BMW that they have taken care of for the last 10 years. 250,000 miles and the car is in perfect shape. I owe it all to European auto. Thanks guys.

Went in for an oil change on my Volkswagen. The cost for this simple service ended up being $200. After wondering if this was the new going rate, I called around and found out this shop was more than the dealer would have charged. I heard someone mention it’s under new management on the phone while dropping the vehicle off. The front end gentleman seemed nice and was well informed, I was just a bit shocked that a simple oil change would be $30-80 more expensive at an independent repair shop. Live and learn I suppose.

Ok everyone: Disregard the old negative posts on European Autowerks. The new ownership is awesome and their team is extremely helpful. After breakdown and tow late at night they looked at our BMW 550i and quickly diagnosed the problem and needed repairs first thing the next morning. Their rates are reasonable for European car work. Will gladly go again.

My Mercedes GL450 broke down driving from Ohio to Las Vegas and thankfully it was here in Glenwoodsprings! They helped me picked me up, dropped me off gave me a great deal and had me back on the road in a day! I couldn’t have asked for better service! The customer service personnel Miss Amber Jackson was absolutely amazing! And Mr Darren Sukes who fixed my Mercedes was also outstanding! Anyone with a foreign car anywhere near here, I recommend you bring your vehicle here if you want it done fast and right!!!

We had a bit of a disagreement regarding scope of work and services performed, but Charlie handled a potentially aggravating situation appropriately and professionally, which was very much appreciated. Finished our business with a handshake and no hard feelings, a welcome outcome given the number of related businesses that scrape by on a “give me a buck, good luck” type of service these days.

Very good and experienced Porsche 996 mechanics there. They did a good chunk of work on my 996 and were fantastic to deal with. No surprises and open, honest communication on both their analysis and my feedback on what I wanted to fix. A pleasure to deal with.

I have been going to this shop for over 30 years.John and Wendy ran Sport Wheels until the local Dealer bought that shop to get the very best European assets in town. Now, re-incarnated as European Auto Werks, this is the very best European shop in Glenwood Springs. Negative comments only come from people that do not understand all of the pain and suffering that comes with diagnosing and servicing a fine European auto. It only takes a second to fix the vacuum leak, but the smoke machine used to find it costs close to $2000. So come in and get the very best advice from Uncle John and Charley for your European rides.

I have an classic 1987 BMW 325is that I have twice left with European Auto Werks. Charlie has been my main contact both times and I find him very pleasant to deal with, However, on both occasions their service has been extremely slow and I have often waited days to get a call back or update. On this last visit the process was almost 2 months as we went back and forth over an estimate that I found particularly overpriced. My complaint was the cost of the parts they had quoted at sometimes 3 or 4 times more that other available OEM parts from different suppliers other than BMW. In the end we could not find an agreement to help reduce the cost of the repairs and they then decided it was not profitable enough to do the work on my car. I understand that most repair shops need to make some amount of profit from the supplied parts but I found European Auto Works to be unreasonable and painfully slow. I would not recommend them for service.

They were nice and responsive and talked me into spending over $11,000 on a bunch of repairs (cars original purchase price was $22,000!) Two months later, a part fell off the car, the speedometer stopped working, and the issue that started it all -- oil leaking -- was back. I called (they had never followed up to see how things were going) and instead of apologizing and offering to immediately look at and fix the problems, they told me it would take 2 and a half weeks to get me in. I feel very ripped off, to say the least! I now believe that they likely charged at least twice what it should have cost, assuming it were done right.

I called to get a head light replaced in my VW Bug. They said it would be $300. I am a young woman and often get taken advantage of in this way. When I explained that the price sounded insane the man on the phone told me well take it somewhere else, I doubt anyone else will fit you in today it takes over an hour. I went over to Grease Monkey (they were amazing) and it took less than 5 minutes and they charged me $19.95.Based on this experience I will never use European Auto Werks and I am also personally insulted that they tried to so savagely over charge me.

Absolutely the worst shop anyone could ever go to. Quoted 592$ and another 300$ for labor for an alternator...searched 5 different site online and the most expensive alternator I could find was 230$...they charged 189$ to reconnect a vacuum line which takes a matter of seconds. Quoted 700$ to replace REAR brake pads only. What a joke! If you go to this shop you are a complete moron. The owner is completely rude and unprofessional. Karma will catch up to this man eventually.

Be advised, these guys always do under the minimum job and maximum price. The first time I took my car here to get snow tires put on. It took two days longer than it was supposed to, they didnt align the car because I needed new control arms. They also tried to tell me that my mass airflow meter had gone bad. I spoke with some other mechanics in the valley, and they said that they had never seen this. All said and done, they tried to upsell me on an additional $1,000 to just get snow tires on my car.The next time I brought it in, the lower engine cover had come off partially. Ended up with a $100 charge to remove (not replace) the darn thing. Bear in mind, I have had this problem on other cars, and the mechanics have just taken it off for free.
