I called Drew to do a PPI on a classic 1973 Porsche 911 in the Dallas area. He was incredibly responsive and was able to fit the car into this schedule the next day. He prepared the most in-depth report that I have ever seen for an old car along with 500MB of hi-def photos of all the good and bad points on the car. In a follow up phone call, he offered a balanced update on all the pluses and minuses of the car with advice on what work would be required to fix the problems so that I could make a sensible decision on the car. It turned out that the car was in no way consistent with the description from the seller (imagine that) and I decided the work required was more than I wanted to undertake. Drew’s knowledge of these cars was impressive - arcane details of the motor, the options, the systems, and the different modifications that were available then and now. I thoroughly enjoyed just talking to Drew about these machines and learned a lot. His services were worth every penny and would gladly recommend him to anyone.

After careful research, I decided to use Drew for some repairs on a 66 Ford Mustang. There were two major items I wanted him to address.The first was a burned up transmission that I suspected needed a rebuild. Drew made sure to talk through all of my options with me ahead of performing work. He was patient and helped me understand my choices and made recommendations on a path forward. When I saw the rebuilt transmission I couldnt believe it was the same thing that had come out of the vehicle. It looked like a new unit from the factory. It works like it is brand new!I also had a modern AC/heat kit that needed installation. Even though I purchased a sure fit kit, it was not a sure fit as described. Drew was able to custom build/fabricate the needed brackets and get the unit installed. It looks as good as anything from the factory these days and the fit is perfect.Drew was very engaged throughout the entire process of working on the Mustang. He set my car up for long term success. He does not take shortcuts and gets the job done right. His auto knowledge is second to none. He really knows his stuff. When my Ferrari 328GTS needed scheduled high mileage engine maintenance (new timing belt) and other niggling issues resolved, I asked my son if he had a reliable source he could recommend. His immediate recommendation was Drews garage - he had had a lot of success with Drew solving several issues with his family vehicles, that the regular dealers couldnt solve. So I transported my car to Drew from Michigan. Drew was able to replace the timing belt without (expensive) engine removal. In addition, he found that the water pump was on its last legs and he rebuilt it with newer internals to improve its durability. I had intermittent starting issues with the car which turned out to be a starter issue - of course Drew re-built the starter - getting the correct parts for older speciality cars can be a supply and/or cost issue. Other items for repair were a balky gear shift operation, a fuel sender that suddenly didnt work, and a general tune-up. When I got the car back, it was running better than I can remember - it started, it shifted very easily and ran like it should. Drews professionalism, his Can Do attitude to solving issues and his overall automotive knowledge are unmatched. I thoroughly recommend Drews Garage for their excellence in solving automotive problems at a very reasonable cost.

Pre-purchase inspection on used car. He was great. We had looked at the carfax that had shown us where the car got hit and he was able to predict all of that without knowing it beforehand. He predicted exactly where the car got hit. Very much worth the money because hes going to notice things you wouldnt no matter how much time youve spent around cars. The dealer had said it had never been painted or in a collision which all turned out to be false.

Drew is a very good person to work with. He is up front, and honest. After the dealer told me I need high dollar auto repair to my 2016 Benz SL I was lost on what to do. I found Drew by luck but I will definitely use him again. Very professional, very thorough and very capable. I drove from Burleson (about 50 miles) for service on my Lamborghini Gallardo. With this type of car you expect to get taken advantage of and that was NOT my experience at all with Drew. Fortunately I can find my way around a car pretty well based on working on many when I was younger. I never felt like Drew was trying to take advantage of me. In fact, Drew was excellent at explaining things in laymans terms. Anyway, I highly recommend Drew and will definitely use him in the future.

Drewmotive saved me thousands of dollars on my Porsche Cayenne GTS! I’m so thankful I found Drew! My engine light came on, so I immediately took my Cayenne to another foreign car repair shop. They told me I needed to replace the entire evap system, which they quoted me $2200! I’ve always been very proactive when it comes to taking care of our vehicles, so I found this a little disturbing. Took it to Drewmotive and Drew was willing to take the time to find out exactly where the leak was coming from, so first he reset the engine light (as they can be very sensitive on Porsche’s). Drew quoted me prices even if I did have to replace the entire evap system, and Drew highly recommends only using Porsche original parts, and he will find them at a lower cost than most. Come to find out, I didn’t have to replace anything! Drew was very honest and fantastic at communicating with me! He’s extremely knowledgeable and after this experience I’ll never take my Porsche to another repair shop! In fact, Drew was so impressive I’ll be taking all of our families vehicles to him. If he’s as knowledgeable about repairing a Porsche Cayenne GTS, he can repair any model and make of a vehicle. Drew is a very rare find and I’m so thankful I found him!

Edit: This is an anonymous review for Drews GarageUsed to take my vehicles here all the time. The communication and service became an issue so I found a different shop. I took my vehicle here to get only the brake pads replaced and the rotors were replaced as well without my knowing or consent. While I understand that it most likely needed to be done, it would have been nice to get a heads up instead of learning about that, and the additional costs, at check out. Nothing was lubricated either so there was a lot of squeaking from the wheels shortly after the service. I took it to a different shop to have that confirmed and properly lubricated to fix the squeaking.

My wife and I were interested at a classic / specialty car at a Chicago area dealership we saw while traveling through the area. While we were able to view the car on the showroom, our schedule didnt allow time to test drive, nor have the car inspected while we were in town, and we live about 600 miles from the dealership.Fortunately, I was able to contact Drew and arrange for him inspect the car for us. He was able to have the car put on a lift and perform a detailed inspection for us that allowed us to make a well informed decision.I own a few classic / specialty cars and before I would make a purchase in the Chicago area, I will definitely contact Drew for an inspection before making a purchase. For the past eight years my entire family and I have strictly gone to Drew’s for all auto repairs. First I’d like to point out the fact that the man is a pure auto genius. Three years ago my wife inherited a 1939 Pontiac Deluxe Series 28 – the Duchess. The car was a beloved member of her family for 40+ years, but had not been well cared for driven the last six years. When we took possession, she did not run and the lack of recent care was evident.It took some time to find a mechanic comfortable working on a car of this vintage and every time I drive the Duchess I am thankful we found Drew. It has been a journey these last three years to get the Duchess running well and that has only occurred due to Drew’s knowledge, expertise, creativity, and commitment. Drew is the only person I trust working on this vehicle.At our first visit, Drew was able to get the straight eight engine running again – no small feat with leaking gas lines, frayed electrical wires, and enough junk floating in the radiator to make you cry. Drew and I then spent time chasing a no hot start issue and an overheating issue. It was the process of chasing those issues that I grew to respect Drew’s knowledge and troubleshooting abilities which led me to trust him with our car.We are only the third owner of this 76 year old beauty. He gives options on parts that may save money and even suggests times when it might be cheaper for me to source the parts myself. The only question I have ever had on an invoice is whether he charged me enough as at times I sensed he put in more time and effort than the bill ultimately reflected.A few times I have asked Drew if the Duchess work could be completed by a certain date due to family members coming to town or a car show we wanted to attend. As luck would have it, it always seemed that those were the weeks the Duchess threw in a surprise like leaking oil lines that made me believe there was no way Drew would have her ready to go in time. But each time, Drew met the deadline and had her finished on time.I saw in one review that Drew is the “car whisperer -- someone who can diligently work through the details and troubleshoot any issue. I agree completely with that assessment and would add that he is also a great communicator and someone you can trust completely.

I recently utilized Drew to inspect a classic car for me in the Chicago area. Since I am from out of state, having eyes on the vehicle was most important to me and Drew came highly recommended. I could not have been happier with the service and professionalism of the inspection. High quality digital photographs were taken of the cars interior, undercarriage and frame, body gaps, paint quality etc. Drew promptly scheduled the inspection at the owners location and completed the job within 3 days. Great shop great service. This is the place you want to set your car. I hit my left front wheel while smashing on the curb on a rainy/icy road. The wheel was bent inward about one and half inch. Also some damage on the rim. Drew was very friendly and super patient listening and explain to me what might be the problem and how to fix it with the cost estimate. I didnt have experience with this shop but like the way Drew treats a new potential customer so, I decided to leave car to him. Since the control arm and some other components had to be replaced, I thought it is going to take a day or two but surprisingly Drew got it done within 4 hours. When I got back to the shop, Drew spent another 30 minutes just to explain how exactly he fixed the issue (i am idiot on cars) and showed my a couple of hi-res photos he took on my car. Wow. Drew did a great job and offers great service. Would recommend to everyone in the area.

Had my car serviced here a couple of times and both times resulted in a great experience. I had my front windshield replaced at a much lower price then what I was quoted at the dealerships and local windshield repair shops and I also had my fog lamp bulbs replaced. This shop was truly a nice find.

This is a long review.... so the short of it is that we had a fantastic experience with Drews Garage, and I have already been telling friends and family about the great mechanic we found. We all know that if you dont have a mechanic as a friend or in the family, finding one is a scary process. What made it more risky for me was that my Honda CRV was totally dead, and needed to be towed. So the place I picked, was the place it was going to get fixed at. I was pretty much going to be locked into the mechanic I picked. The best thing we can rely on are the reviews we find online, and this is what brought me to Drews Garage. I gave them a call, but there was never a them. It was always and only Drew himself that I spoke to. He was more than polite on the phone, very professional, listened, went through the possibilities of what was wrong, and what to expect accordingly. Off to a good start. I got my car towed over there on a Friday and as it turned out Drew stayed well into the night to look at my car, called me on Saturday morning (when they are supposed to be closed) to let me know the problem, the solution, the process, and the cost. I gave him the green light, and on Monday he ordered the new A/C Compressor, received it, installed it and the car was ready that night. I would of been beyond satisfied at that point. He was quick, thorough, and extremely fair in price. But Drew personally took the service further and assisted me in initiating a claim with Honda (they have a recall on the A/C Compressor). He wasnt done there. I had a problem with my other car starting. Drew took a look and saw it was a simple problem of a loose battery connection. He cleaned the terminals and tightened the connection, free of charge! I seriously could not of had a better experience. I literally never write reviews. I created a Google account just now solely to write this one. As I said, finding a mechanic you can trust your lifeline and major investment to is a very scary process. You hear too many horror stories. So I hope that many find this review and give Drew a call. Hired Drews to do a Pre Purchase Inspection on and Aston Martin I was looking to buy. I cant say enough positive things about my experience. I was referred to Drews shop by a close friend, and I have to say Drew did an impeccable job of repairing a problem on my car. 2015 Evoque Non DRL Halogen head lamps to Xenon signature Head lamps with Halo rings upgrade. Without question, Drew is the subject matter expert as well as one of the few, if not THE only provider in the US that does the head lamp modification necessary for the upgrade. His product is beyond compare. The customer service and support I received was equally beyond compare! I was treated at all times with the respect and patience as if I was the only customer they had. Drew has been taking care of my cars for about 5 years now. I first took my Honda Accord to Drew with an air conditioning issue which another mechanic had failed to fix. The other mechanic worked on my car, failed to fix it, and still had me pay full price for the job. The mechanic claimed it was because of a difficult-to-fix electrical issue, which Drew diagnosed and found this was not the case. He was able to fix the air conditioning easily at a reasonable price. Later on my Honda had problems starting and I made the mistake of trying out another mechanic in my area. That mechanic claimed that it was the starter and replaced my 2-year-old starter (relatively new). Three days later, while driving to my night shift, the car stalled and stopped in the middle of an intersection with no warning. Next day I called the other mechanic again, and over the course of a week he determined that my Honda needed a new engine. I spent over $900 on a lightly-used engine and a few days later the car stalled again, at night, in the middle of a busy intersection. I had to pay for towing and I told them to take my car straight to Drew’s Garage. The next day after checking the car over Drew found that the problem was with the ignition switch and nothing else, and since replacing it it’s never given me trouble again.Drew is the only person I trust to work on my car and my daughter’s car. He’s fixed our catalytic converters, brakes, rotors, and given us oil changes amongst other things. Before he undergoes anything he explains in-detail what needs to be done and never works on anything until I’ve been informed and give him the go-ahead. His diagnostic tests are highly accurate and precise and if there’s ever any trouble after he’s fixed something (which is rarely ever) he does a through follow-through that usually gets the job done. I’m glad to have Drew as my mechanic, he’s dependable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, works at a price that’s reasonable and is genuinely invested in making sure my cars run safely and smoothly. Taking my cars to Drew’s Garage gives me peace of mind. I will be a customer of his for a very long time to come.

Drew is very smart, has good integrity.I found Drew when I had to replace a broken vent window - the little ones on the side. The glass companies I called were saying Sure, we can do that - $400. Ouch! I called this Drew guy, and he said Well... let me see if I can find a good one from a junk yard first. That blew me away - I cant remember the last time a mechanic tried to save me money.Bottom line: Drew is my main mechanic. Drew is one of biggest condescending jerks I have ever met. I had him do some electrical work on a classic car. When I took the car home, I used the bright headlights and the engine shut off. When I had him check it out he claimed no fault and insulted me in front of my wife and kids for asking him to fix what he broke. Do not do business with this guy!

We recently hired Drew to inspect a car for us that was out of state for us. The car was of the classic variety and was being sold on consignment in a warehouse/museum. We were concerned about purchasing an older car sight unseen and Drews Garage came with wonderful reviews. Drew was able to make the inspection and uncovered a slew of problems that would have made the purchase of the car regrettable and twice as expensive to fix. Drew sent a detailed outline of the problems along with 60+ pictures of said problems diagrammed in the pictures. Drew is a top of the line garage. I wanted to install the Halo lights on my 2013 Range Rover Evoque but I didnt want to pay the extra 10k for the extra stuff that comes with the vehicle when I only wanted the Halo lights. I purchased the halo lights and Drew was able to modified them to go with my car to work just exactly as they do Range Rover Evoque. They are the only ones currently able to do this work. I checked every where for about 6 months and everyone told me they werent able to do it and those who stated they could do it werent doing it correctly. I shipped my headlights to them and in a week I got them back ready to be install. If you want the work to be done right and at a right price then go to them.

I had heard many positive reviews about Drews Garage prior to taking my vehicle to him. I had spoken with him over the phone several times as well, and he took the time to explain everything to me and provide honest feedback to my questions. Last week he worked on my vehicle and as expected he performed top notch work, and was very honest about his findings. He even found a leak that he told me should be covered under my original manufacturers warranty. Most other stealerships would have tried to charge for the repair, and never even mention a powertrain warranty. I am so glad to have found Drews garage. I stumbled across Drew’s Garage about 10 years ago (June 2006) on my way to work. My wife and I owned a 1993 Acura Legend. I was the initial driver and then she took over the car when we had kids. We were looking for a shop that could take good care of the car we loved so much. The last couple of times we had taken it to the dealership they had fixed what was wrong but caused another problem in the process. They told us it was because the “car was old and rusted” and it couldn’t be avoided. For the 10 years we have been taking the Legend to Drew not once has he claimed he had to repair something else because when he tried to repair the real problem something else went wrong because the “car was old and rusted”. Our history with Drew all started 10 years ago when I was smart enough to have had my car towed to Drew’s Garage when it failed to start for my wife one morning in the summer of 2006. Thanks to Drew our car was saved and repaired with the replacement of the timing belt. Since that time we have taken our Acura to Drew for every repair. He has replaced the water pump, belts, brakes, rims, radiator, condenser, starter motor, control arms, struts, a/c, battery, corroded wiring, tires, oil changes, etc. just to name a few. Every time there is something wrong with our car which is now 23 years old with over 200,000 miles on it, we take it to Drew. As he says and I quote, “when I work on this car I have to use kid gloves because everything is old and vulnerable”. He has never failed us or our car. I know that if we hadn’t found Drew and had him work on our car we would not own it today because it would not be in such great running condition. Whether it was me or my wife (who has met with and discussed several repairs with Drew) he was always honest and forthcoming. Every time we bring the car in he tells us exactly what is wrong and what he fixed and also makes us aware of things we should look out for and things we should think about repairing in the future. Six years ago we bought my wife a new Acura and passed the Legend down to our 16 year old daughter who drove it until she went to college. In August of 2015 we passed it down to our son who took over driving the Legend. About 2 weeks ago in the morning on his way to high school when conditions were icy the kid in front of him slammed his brakes on and my son rear ended him. There was no damage to the SUV the other kid was driving but needless to say our Legend received considerable damage. I had it towed to Drew who informed me of what it would take to get a hood and other parts for the car and also repair the damage. He suggested that at this point it was probably not worth fixing because of the cost. We are on the fourth driver of that car. It has never been in any kind of accident. We love our Legend and as Drew says and understands we are “emotionally attached” to the car. We would have never even considered repairing it if we hadn’t had such an incredible, unbelievably successful experience with Drew time after time for all these years. He has never failed us and always amazed us with his knowledge and true compassion for the work he does on every repair needed no matter how big or small. We have decided to go ahead and repair our beloved Legend. Drew has agreed to take on this huge undertaking. I have no doubt that our car will be restored and my son will be driving it again in the near future. Hopefully a little more cautiously….May 1, 2016Our car was ready to go on 3/29/16. Drew did an awesome job! First let me say that it looks and runs so much better than it did. The front end is new and painted and looks incredible. My son has been driving the car now for about a month. Everything is perfect! There are no problems. In fact is seems better than before. I knew that making the decision to have Drew repair the car was right. I would have never fixed the car after the accident if I didnt have someone as trustworthy as Drew. I found Drews Garage a couple years back after purchasing my 78 Lincoln. Originally i had taken this car to 3 or 4 dealerships and shops and unfortunately I was alway billed, but given the run around about what was wrong as well as several excuses as to why they were unable to fix the cars issues. I was highly frustrated until i found Drews website. Once i saw all of the positive reviews about Drew i felt it was worth a shot taking my car to him and honestly it was the best decision I couldve made. Drew not only fixed the CORRECT problems that the other shops could not repair, he also saved me a ton of money because those other shops completely misdiagnosed the real problems. I go in, talk about whats wrong, and then get results. After he looks at my car he talks to me about what happened, why, and what needs to be done to repair it. He explaines it all in detail and educates me on the subject.The place is clean and professional. If I make an appointment he takes care of me when I walk in. He maintained my cars for 10+ years, everything from Subarus to BMW M cars to an old Porsche 911. I recommended him to many, many friends in Chicagoland over the years, and all came back with positive experiences. I could share many stories of problems that only Drew was able to fix, and where he saved thousands vs. other shops because of his incredibly logical, thoughtful approach to diagnosing and solving issues. Hes seriously impressive.I brought all my cars to Drew, but hes an absolute wizard with exotics and unusual cars. If youre an enthusiast, Drew should 100% be your mechanic.******I honestly feel Drew is the best mechanic in the NW suburbs, and Ive been a client over years and multiple cars. Hes diagnosed and fixed several issues with my cars that baffled dealerships and other independent mechanics. . . very impressive. Look in the back, and Ferraris and Aston Martins sit next to old Camaros and Hondas, which tells you something--the guy can fix pretty much everything on wheels.In addition to his excellent workmanship, Drew is great to deal with, as well. I found Drews via an old link on a Range Rover forum. I wanted to do an HID conversion on my Evoque. Plenty of people have tried this and failed. Drew has a plug-and-play solution whereby an owner can remove their halogen units and plug in Drews converted HID units without the car throwing an error code. Drews solution is an engineering and electronic solution that involves in-lamp modification so it looks pretty stock under the hood. To do the work I needed to source a pair of HID units and get them to Drew. An interesting proposition given that I live in Utah. Drew is very particular about the way lamp units are packaged for transit and when one of the ones Id sourced and had sent to him arrived literally in pieces, Drew was pretty angry with the supplier and stepped up and started a UPS claim for me. By happy coincidence I managed to source a third unit on eBay that was only 30 miles from Schaumberg. Rather than risk another shipping incident, Drew was a star and went out of his way to arrange a local pickup for me. At this point all he knew about me was a series of phone calls and emails but he paid cash for this third unit for me and agreed to bill me later. It was a delight to work with someone willing to do stuff like this. Too many places nowadays would either flat refuse or demand payment up front.From there, he did the work in reasonably short order and kept me informed along the way. He shipped the finished units and sent me an invoice along with a comprehensive series of photos on what I would need to do to get them installed.The lamps arrived without damage. Remember I said he was very particular about packaging? I swear you could have literally catapulted the box from Illinois to Utah and had it bounce ten times on landing, and the lamps wouldnt have been damaged. So pretty Fedex-proof.The lamps were indeed plug and play. The car threw no error codes and now I have HID lights in a car that believes it has halogens connected.So yeah - happy customer here. If I lived close to Schaumberg Id stop in and buy him a beer but for now a 5 star review will have to suffice.

Drews Garage overly exceeded my expectations from start to finish. I was looking for a solution to convert my Land Rover Evoque headlights from the Base model halogens to the Premium version Xenon with DRLs. You should know that Land Rover said this could not be done. I found numerous solutions online dealing with aftermarket parts, add ons.... This was not so important that I jeopardize the quality of my car by putting some aftermarket junk (to put it nicely) on it or more so, kill my warranty. I found Drews Garage on an EvoqueForums site. I liked what i was seeing and reading about his success with this impossible task, as I was beginning to believe it was, so I decided to call. I can not explain to you how impressed I was with Drew in EVERY aspect of the process. He explained to me in great detail the process and procedures in making the conversion. To the point on several occasions I have know idea what he was talking about. He has to be an electronic engineer among all other hats he wears. He has figured out a way to make the conversion using only Land Rover OEM products. Just as if came from the factory. Not only was his knowledge and workmanship superior, his professionalism and honesty exceeded that. Needless to say it was an absolute pleasure to do business with Drews Garage and I love my headlights. I recently had a vehicle inpected by Drew and I cannot speak highly enough of the gentleman and his commitment to a task. Buying from overseas is a risky business at the very least. I was lucky enough to come across Drews Garage to inspect a 1966 Karmann Ghia. To cut a long story short, through Drews efforts and investigative work he was able to ascertain that the car was not as advertised and to put it bluntly a fabrication. In short I feel that Drew saved me the possibility of parting with $17k by giving me sound and impartial advice... Im by no means a novice at buying classics but without a good set of eyes on the ground it is a minefield even for the initiated..
