Make sure they do your title paperwork correctly. Purchased a car from them. They never submitted the paperwork to the dmv.
These people are fantastic! Four times we have gone to them and each time we have been well taken care of. They are truly are what they say they are. Curtis did a great job fixing a few broken studs on our rims. They are very willing to work with customers who have an unexpected but unavoidable repairs. We are repeat customers, and I will recommend them to everyone I can.
These people are scam artists. We Bought a van from them and not even an entire day later we had to bring it back because our a/c blew out on us. Ever since that day we have had to take it in to them and they’ve been “fixing” on it for at least a good month and a half. They make us pay for something we don’t even have. We’ve been paying on that van and they still haven’t fixed the a/c. They literally break the entire car and never put pieces back where they belong. I don’t recommend anybody even think about getting something done there. The only reasons their prices are so low is because they sell old used cars and they will throw that in your face if you bring up the fact that they break more than they fix. Jason feels like he does not have to fix the vehicles because they say as is. Just because they are old and used doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try and fix it. You are a car shop, that is literally your job. You know the cars are old/used or beat down. Fix them. Otherwise close down your shop. Just because you own a toolbox or know a thing or two about cars doesn’t mean you should open a shop. He doesn’t want to spend the necessary amounts of money to get the.car parts and always puts the blame on his employees, people he only hires to help them to pay their car notes. He and his employees have no actual experience fixing cars and neither have real degrees in mechanics. They need to be shut down. If this is happening to you or someone else you know you can like this and I’m gonna take this matter to court because I don’t feel like anyone should be paying money for something you can’t even use or is always broken. Most of us can’t even get to work, yet they want a payment. We can sue them. I’m definitely suing so if you want in please like this, because if the judge/court knows this is happening to other people and no just one woman, they are more likely to approve because Jason and the others can’t make it seem as if it’s someone trying to get money or attention.
Great people, community minded, no better ways to pay! The owner is very compassionate about his causes to help the community via their volunteer outreach program! Awesome programs they have, cant believe I found a place to pay for a car by volunteering, incredible! The whole crew is very helpful and kind. I recommend this place to anyone looking to get the best deal and great customer service!
Great spot for used tires. Large selection on sizes. They have a program that helps their volunteer workers purchase vehicles. They believe that through providing transportation they can gain access to other employment and help pull themselves out of poverty.
I purchased my 2005 Buick lacrosse from here 3 years ago and the car has been very reliable until this day. I called and inquired about getting my car fixed and Bill(William) and his mechanic has been nothing more but VERY HELPFUL during this time. Hes efficient and very respectful. He voices his opinion on other concerns as well witch I honestly appreciate. I would recommend this place to anyone I come in contact with. Its good to know there is still good people in this world who actually care. Way to go Community Overdrive.
Community Overdrive is a place where you can find a decent, or really nice car, at a reasonable price. These people will not scam you, and unlike any dealership, you can knock off 1/4 of the vehicle price by volunteering at non profit organizations. Each time you volunteer, you earn a $50.00 voucher to use as credit towards the car you want. So if a car is priced at $1,000 then you can use up to five $50 volunteer vouchers resulting in a final price of $750.Also, you can get other people to cash in their vouchers on the same vehicle, so that way, you can get into your desired car quicker, and leave happy.Another way to earn vouchers is by bringing in food to serve 25 (small portions) on Saturdays when they host their weekly cookout (open to the public), and in return be rewarded with a $50 voucher. In addition to the cookout, people will vote on who brought in the best food. The winner will receive an additional $50 voucher.A cool thing for those who want to learn about vehicle maintenance and repair, is the Community Overdrive Practicum, which enables people (I forget the age range) to work with the mechanics to learn automotive technology, best practices, and more.Hope you enjoyed my two cents, and if you have any more knowledge to share, or if I got something incorrect, please feel free to add on.
I came to them with a screw in my tire on a 2017 Nissan Rogue, and when the guy took the tire with the screw off the rim to replace it with another tire he broke the sensor and caused a issue with my vehicle showing a message on my dash, as well as a flashing yellow light! I have consistently tried to get it fixed (and yes I purchased the warranty on the tire) over the last 4 months with no success! It would have only cost $170.00 To fix it!!! I am going to file a small claim to resolve this issue because now I am done and want compensation for having to deal with this problem for the last several months! My strong record recommendation is do not use these people they are not professional and you dont know if youre going to get what you pay for.
Don’t come here to get tires there all dry rotted and the tread on it is so bad I recommend going to tire outlet down the street cus they are a lot better and good prices and brand new tires for goodPrice
Nice people at first, especially before you pay your money. Didnt care whatever problem you ran into after your transaction.Be careful to make the decision. its better to have someone you truly trust with you and make an inspection on your vehicle before you actually buying it.
Awesome place to get your tires good prices. I went there on Saturday and got one tire. The tire person there was really helpful and did a good job I went there on Sunday to get another tire because the other side was bad to and because they had great tires like brand new. Thank you all for helping me here I appricate it
I stopped by to inquire about a vehicle. The staff was very friendly and provided me with all of the information I needed. And included a test drive!! I am very excited to learn about and hopefully volunteer for the community that gives back too!!
They are very polite and helpful. They even help you to pay off your car through volunteering. The only place I know like that. It owner thrives on a heart to help others stand.
Where do I begin... for starters just run away as fast as you can if you ever find yourself here or youre gonna get ripped off. Let me tell you about my experience here. Supposedly this place is all about the community and thats why I went here. Well thats not the case. The vehicle I was sold looked great and with 60 days same as cash how can you go wrong. Im disabled so Im on a very tight budget but Jason was all about working with me to make sure I could get the vehicle. Well within a week it was broken down. I take it in and they charge me to fix it. No big I guess til it brakes down again two weeks later. Whats his response you ask? Bring it in and well give you a good price to fix it. So I remind Jason about my budget and he says not to worry if I cant make the payment cause I can still pay double the price for a few hundred dollars a month instead. At this point I started to realize theres something fishy going on so I do a little digging. Take the vehicle to a trusted mechanic and theres an obviously blown head gasket and valve cover gaskets to any mechanic that knows his stuff. Leaking transmission, leaking brake system, leaking coolant system. So I bring this info to him and want out of the vehicle that never should have been sold and you guessed it, Im told tough luck. So I start really looking into things and heres what I found out. Community overdrive is a nonprofit arm of the pledge 5 foundation. Well the pledge 5 foundation has been dealing with financial issues since 2014 when they became over $100,000 in debt after a failed gatorstompin event. In 2015 they had to file for bankruptcy. So now they open a car dealership and instead of ripping of vendors they rip off poor at risk community members. All of this info is easily available online with a simple google search. Just stay away and spread the word about these people so others dont get screwed too.
This is one of the best places Ive been to. Highly recommended, if there were six stars Id give it to them
Be careful if you think you paid for you vehicle up front with cash. They will find a way to get you. And make u pay lots more, or threaten to take your vehicle. Read everything, even fine print before you sign. And have someone else with you and have them read it too. Sucks getting ripped off by a place thats supposed to help others.
I camped out in the parking lot for several days waiting for parts to come in. Not once was I told how much the repair would cost or how many Volunteer hours would I have to do. Every attempt to find out was put off with an excuse of being too busy to talk. Once the parts came in ( which I never agreed to have ordered) I still had no idea what it would cost so I refused the repair and got towed out. This place is a big rip-off! Stay away, the cars are junk and you will only waste money and have lots of aggrevation getting it fixed. This place gets robbed or vandalized often. Im sure its by unhappy customers.DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
I am buying a 2005 Buick Terraza from here. I am most impressed because they would not consider letting me leave with the vehicle until the brakes were addressed and the issue corrected. Now this has taken a few days to happen due to parts issues with their parts supplier but well worth the wait to have the issue corrected. I truly feel that everyone here cares and it is not just about money here.
I have to give a HUGE shout out to the crew at Community Overdrive - Jason Zachary, Bill and especially Jason Bradley. On a one-day trip to Gainsville (from St. Petersburg) last Saturday my car developed a substantial coolant leak and overheated. Knowing no one in Gainsville, I stopped at an auto parts store and they recommended Community Overdrive - it was nearby and they might be able to help me on short notice. Not only did they go way out of their way to diagnose and repair my car -- the water pump had failed - they drove across town to pick up the part and Mr. Bradley, who did the actual work, overcame one unexpected issue after another to get me back on the road that day. And the icing on the cake? The final bill was almost $200 less than what i had agreed to pay! Honest people that truly want to help out their fellow man. You guys are the best!
Absolute scam artists. So heres their game. Offer you a great vehicle 60 days same as cash knowing you have a very limited budget. The thing is the vehicle is gonna break down constantly as soon as you drive it away. If you take it to them theyll charge you crazy amounts and break the vehicle more. All so that you default on the 60 day same as cash and the price doubles or they repo it. Stay as far away from these guys as possible.
I bought a lemon from this place for sure. The mechanic is a joke who broke several of the engine components and left several faulty equipment on it. The head gasket was blown, which is a very expensive fix alone. I gave these people all my money, I have no transportation now and may lose my job. When Jason and Sam were made aware of the issues, they were rude and tried to shoo my witnesses and I away. I paid the vehicle off and STILL without transportation. A complete waste of money.
Love the staff just got my vehicle from there would love to get that picture you guys took thanks again specially robin and jason
Hard working and wonderful owner and staff, a true pillor of Gainesville community. Im so glad i got my car there, im really thankful for the blessings i have
My sister bought a truck from these con artist. They prey on people who cant afford to go through regular car dealerships due to money down payments or credit score. It was full of broken parts that they said they would fix but never did. If you purchase a vehicle from them get everything in writing! Receipts in writing! Take someone who knows about cars with you to check it out dont take there word!👹
Within an hour of pulling into the dealership and taking a test drive, we had papers signed with William. Pleasant fellow to work with, as well as timely and knowledgeable about the vehicles onsite. If you plan on taking a trip to community overdrive, go on a Saturday when they do barbeque and fixin`s. Get a meal and a deal.
They were very helpful, less expensive than any other tire outlet. Order & receive new tires the same day.
Tire went flat the day after I bought it! They tried to make me pay for a flat tire that was under a 30 day warranty. Dont come here!
Good deal on used tiresHelped me out. I think they were fantastic
Worse experience leased a car A.C didnt work then they gave me a second car tire was bad on it third car bad tire and no rear view mirror this all happen in a week so I have back the car and they wouldnt give me back the money I paid 2 months in advance horrible place to get a car run far away... they are nice when u first meet then then crooks ...
They help you get a car where others wont
Dont get your tires here. My dad came here and they gave us a tire and same day it went flat so they couldnt find the leak so they sent us on the road again and 15 minutes later it went flat again so I wentBack there again and they charge me to repair tire and they didnt even let me know untill after they fixed and put it back on my car they charged me for a bag tire they sold to me smh 😡
Get your tires here.. Get your car here.. Get free bbq on Saturdays.. No money?? Donate some time and get credit towards your purchases
Its great to volunteer, but is the only good thing about this place. Purchasing a vehicle is a lesson in not getting cheated.
My son was going to buy a car from them, We noticed someone drive and park it behind a building they were installing a GPS turn off device with out telling him.
Great people helping people of the community free food very weekend they do a lot for people check them out
Absolutely do not come here, I came for a patch and my rim was all scratched and I was told it simply happens and that they would not fix it or take any responsibility, total nightmare and I will follow up with it in court!!!!
Great service!! I recommend you stop by!
This is the worst place ever!! I bought my first car from here. Less than 38hrs my car ac went out in it and then it started to stall on me while driving. Come to find out it was the ac compressor. I called them to tell them about it and they refused to help me. The owner refused to speak to me so he had his little crack head employee who sold the car speak for him. Needless to say i still have the car and it doesnt work!!
After my daughter bought a car that blew up within a month, we find out that they did not turn in the title work properly. After calling the first day and not getting a return call, my daughter goes down to the office. The woman staffing the office, Amanda, told her she will get to it when they could. I called, she was rude and unhelpful. RUN FROM THIS LOT. They dont care the car blew up, and they dont care they didnt do there job right.
Awesome program! Wonderful staff..
The will help you with whatever you need help with as long as you keep it 100 with then
Good Selection, REASONABLE Prices w good finance options, and the owner CARES! Also- you can do volunteer work for portion of down payment and/ or regular payments!
After Reading The reviews i went to location myself because people would say anything so once im there its a lady there telling me to come here so i Go over an she tells me to leave that she has just bought her van an it was her 3rd time an one week bringing it back an they dont wanna fix it sooooooo i left lol idk cant give 5 stars because this lafy was pissed
Do NOT sell or buy anything from them they will scam you for your money for a lemon used car. drunk people fix cars here
Best car lot in Gainesville. Very helpful to the community
Dirty. Cars are junk and have flat tires, overpriced and they give you strange looks when your looking at cars like you dont be long there. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
If you buy a car from there you will realize it was a mistake quickly
Great prices great for the community
They will sell you a car with no title, give you the runaround about it and eventually quit answering phone calls. Had my car over a year paid in full and still no title, and they refuse to answer my calls or talk to me now.
The sales person I spoke to was so rude that I walked out half way through buying a car and went elsewhere.
Awesome place,Great Customer service, Community Advocate.
Didnt want to work with me after running everything when they said they could before
