Best place to buy a car, the best part how pleasant and simple the transaction. They only sell recent models, low mileage, but priced very competitive, no dealer fees, no exaggerated title tag fees, this place is almost surreal, avoid regular new car dealers, avoid Gatorland Toyota at all cost, Tomlinson is in a class of its own, a very unique breed when it comes to the ease of doing business, A+ Recomended. I got a Kia Forte, so far so good, will update if anything changes.

I have been remiss in not providing a review of Tomlinson, but seriously, a solid group of guys. I first encountered them in September 2020, when my son was driving home from Gainesville and his car broke down on the way (a Sunday, of course). AAA towed it back to Gainesville to Tomlinson. I called them the next day and described what happened. They quickly evaluated the car and determined it was a broken timing belt--basically a fatal event (on a 18 year old car).They were helpful in helping me figure out a salvage service to take the car off our hands. Meanwhile, we shopped at their lot for a car, and were prepared to buy a Nissan Altima (2020, 1000 miles) when it was literally sold while my son was deciding. Their prices were fair, the fees were transparent and low. It gave me a good baseline for what I could expect to pay for such a car, which was helpful when we bought new a week later.Meanwhile, they encouraged me that if we ever needed a service man in Gainesville to give them a shot. I have taken care of our cars in Jacksonville for years with my guys, but having a local company for my kids could be handy if something urgent came up. Last week, the AC on my daughters Lexus RX350 went out, so we brought it by Tomlinson. They had it fixed within the day for under $100 (faulty compressor relay).I have had several experiences with Tomlinson over the past year, all very positive, and am comforted that I have a location that can take car of my kids cars when something comes up that cannot be taken care of at home.

I visited Tomlinson Motor Company today and had a wonderful experience. Bill was very helpful as we discussed sales. I brought my truck in to have their service folks look at it as I received news yesterday from a dealership that the truck needed major repairs. Mark in service, and Scott and Rob were exceptional. They spent quite a bit of time on my vehicle and determined that it was fine for now and did not need the stated repairs. I bought this truck from them and will always bring it there from now on for service. This is a wonderful company!

TMC ReviewI recently brought my Jeep Wrangler to Tomlinson Motor Company for service after I had several lousy experiences with the Jeep dealership. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by friendly staff who directed me to JD. He asked me what I needed and when I told him I needed new tires and service we took a look at my wheel specs and went back inside and he cultivate tire options at a very reasonable price. He ordered them for me so that they would be delivered within the week and he put me in touch with service for the appointment. It was simple, easy, and actually pleasant unlike typical hassle of my former servicer. When I returned a few days later, I brought it to service and was helped by a very kind service staffer who gave me some very simple paper work to fill out and took my keys. I waited in the nice waiting room they have and in about an hour they had done all of my service and installed my new tires. The service was less expensive than my former providers and, again, the tires and installation were a great deal as well. I have never had such an easy and straight forward car service experience. Tomlinson Motor Company has really figured it out because they cost less and they get to the point. They didn’t try any fear tactics by telling me I had to replace a ton of things otherwise my car would break. They took a look and simply did what was needed. It’s was nice to get service done in a timely, hassle free fashion without having to worry about getting upsold or ripped off. I am a tremendous fan and will certainly continue to bring my car to Tomlinson for service.

I decided that it was time for a newer car. I don’t desire to drive a new car off a car dealer’s lot, and have it depreciate thousands that very second, so I wanted a late model used car. My car is 20 years old and repairing it more often than in the past was something I didn’t want to continue.Ive heard many say that if you want to buy a used car, Tomlinson is the place. My first ever visit to Tomlinson was in Dec. 2017. I wanted to see the vehicles that I had seen posted on their website.I was greeted by a friendly sales person. He explained that all the cars are unlocked, so stay as long as I want, and if I found something, he would get the key so I could drive it. He left so I could peruse the lot, which I found comforting.I found cars I liked, but wasn’t ready to buy. It’s a big purchase, and I keep a car for many years. I didn’t want to rush into anything. This is when I noticed that Tomlinson is different from a typical car dealer.I located the sales guy that I had talked with, and said that I found cars that interested me, but needed to do more research. He said, come back anytime. That was it, and unusual for most car dealers in my past experience. Usually, they don’t want you to leave the lot, as once gone, people typically don’t return to buy. Tomlinson was different. No attitude, no pressure, not anything negative. Just come back when ready.I returned Jan. 13, 2018, to look again after much research. I narrowed my choices to three brands. I was greeted by a friendly sales guy, and said I was going to look around. He said to let anyone know if I wanted to take test drive. After looking, I knew which car I wanted to drive. I located the sales guy, and he asked for my license to copy. I was handed the key. Pretty easy and stress free.Driving on my own, without the sales guy, I was comfortable with the decision that this is the one I wanted. Returning to the lot, I said that I liked it, but wanted to sell my 20 year old car first before buying a replacement. He said come back when you’re ready.I asked for an out-the-door price for the car, tax, tag, title, etc. Sales manager, Mike Brewster calculated it, and it was as I expected. No extra dealer fees or add-ons, no extra anything. It took Mike about a minute. That’s how complex it isnt.There were not any smoke and mirrors. That’s very different from my experiences at a typical car dealer, where they seem to drag it out like some magical ritual that needs further approval from some higher up, then often comes back with a few, non-negotiable extras tacked on. Not at Tomlinson. What they say on their website and in person is true. No dealer fees, just the posted price, and required tax, tag, title, etc.Mike said that he would hold the car for me just on my word while I arranged to sell my old car, no deposit required, and if I changed my mind to let him know so he could remove the hold. Then I just decided to buy the car.The price was fair, selling my old one would be easy because it ran, and one can’t sell a 20 year old car for much. My entire experience at Tomlinson during both of my visits was entirely stress and pressure free. Feeling very comfortable with both of my visits to Tomlinson, I decided it was time to buy.Tomlinson sells late model, low mileage, cars that usually have the balance of the factory warranty, so there really isn’t negotiating wiggle room. Trying to get a few hundred dollars knocked off a reasonable price is not worth my time, and car sales people need to make a living, too.Mike commented that their sales philosophy is that they don’t want to sell you a car, they want you to buy a car. No pressure, fair prices, top selection of used cars, unlocked so one can peruse at their leisure, and let the customer decide what is best for them. I highly recommend visiting Tomlinson when you are looking for a late model used car. Oh, and I purchased a 2017 Toyota Camry.

Made buying a car actually a pleasent experience. Straightforward, no pushy schemes. Hit a small snag when I went to leave with my purchase where one of the two keys wasnt cut. They apologized and immediately called a guy who was there 15 minutes later and cut the key. My parents decided to use them and bought a car about a month later. Definitely worth checking out.

We did our homework prior to going to dealers to see cars. We went to several dealers and ALL of them treated us like we had no business being there. JD at Tomlinson greeted us as soon as we got out of our van. He is very polite and knowledgeable, and showed us several SUVs and compact cars. He let us roam the car lot without any pressure. We found the vehicle we wanted, but went to another dealer to look at one more car. Once again we were treated very poorly, and the salesman could not answer a single question. Back near the end September, I bought a 2018 Toyota Avalon from Tomlinson. Jon Valentine helped me through the process and was very patient with me as a first time car-buyer. I was unsure of what I wanted and he helped me make a decision through his own personal experience and gave some very good advice.Being young and a first time car-buyer, I had a decent credit score but no credit history, so most places gave me pretty bad loans/interest rates. Jon told me to wait on finalizing everything as he was going to see what he could do to help me out. I got a call the next day from Jon saying that he had managed to get me a very good (4.9) interest rate for my credit history and from there I went on to buy my car buy my experience did not end there.A few weeks ago I was rear-ended at a stop and my car ended up getting totaled. The process was very unpleasant and between my credit union and the insurance company, neither were able to tell me if I had gap covered, thankfully I did. I called up Jon and he remembered me from those month ago. He told me that I certainly DID have gap coverage. He found my file, and emailed it to me immediately. He also included his number and told me that if there was anything he could do to help, to just give him a call morning, noon, or night. Jon really goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service.Long story short, the car I got was in great condition and well maintained. The service I got was unparalleled and felt like I was dealing with friends--not a business. Since my car was totaled, I need a new one soon and the very first place I am going to is Tomlinson Motor Co.

Tomlinson Auto is by far the easiest dealership to work with! I had to find a new vehicle fast and it was also my first time buying a car, but everyone was very knowledge and helpful and not pushy at all. They definitely made it a good experience for me. Not only was the atmosphere refreshing during the car shopping process, they also had a good selection of cars to look. Absolutely the BEST experience buying cars from here. It was relaxed, frank and no pressure to commit to anything.We were buying our first car and we heard from a lot of our friends and even our bank to go here for the best deals in town.They have great cars, with low mileage at fair prices (Most show up as Fair purchase price on Kelley Blue book).In the morning I was quoted an amount and I paid exactly that and not a cent more in any costs.Only thing they did tell us about was their excellent extended warranty. In case on any problems with the car, bring the car to them and you get another one till yours is fixed up, unlike their competitors who will give a different car at end of day or something like that.They never tried to sell it to us.They are one of most recommended dealerships in town with nearly no marketing anywhere at all. They provide a service to this community which is unlike anything I have experienced before. I wish the best of luck to the Team at Tomlinson.

The guys that walk out to show you the car are great (not salesmen). I would give them five stars. However, they didnt give me what they said they would for my trade in. I suggest you get it in writing. They never showed me the extended warranty options they only told me one option. I recommend you ask to SEE all options so you can choose your own. They do have nice vehicles and NO dealer-hidden fees. The owner JD Tomlinson is a very nice man and wants you to have a great car buying experience! I would purchase another car here. I would not trade my car.
