The two stars is for the selection. Zero would be for the math skills of some employees. Or in this recent case, unable to read? Normally when buying things here you can quickly tally how much they are, its in the name. Half Price. Of the list price. This is not the first time Ive been overcharged due to concerningly poor math skills on the part of the cashier. This time however, there was a tag on it and I was still overcharged. Of course. Not once has their many math errors ever been in my favor. Calling is also a waste of time, theyll just tell me again that the cashiers have calculators. That they dont use apparently, which is why the math skills are concerning. They dont even have a clue theyre wrong.

Moving getting rid of a few books one a Charlie Manson book they paid me like 2.50. Went back a few days later it’s for sale for 125.00. Just be very careful what you sale them. That’s a huge mark up.

Decent selection of quirky, and occasionally rare it hard-to-find books. The place is packed with used books and it is fun to wander the stacks. There is really no place to sit down or read for a bit, so if that is your thing at a bookstore look elsewhere. Staff is fairly friendly and not overly pushy or nosy. And the prices are, in fact, at least 50% off of retail (though you can often get a Kindle edition of a book for about the same coin).

Used books typically in excellent condition. You can also find new books. They also carry video, music and video games. You can find signed collectibles as well. If theres a book youre looking for they will check other Half Price Books locations and have it sent to your location and hold it for you. Service is great as well.

Went in to sell a significant amount of many rare, out of print, and/or signed books along with some hardback and softback graphic novels. All of the hardback books have Mylar dust jacket covers of which I applied.Examples:Vintage/collectible art instruction books, all concerning the human form.Vintage/collectible magic books. As in, magician, illusionist instruction.Out of print hardback graphic novels. Not random junk but DC archive additions, things like this.One of the books I brought in is an extremely rare copy of a stage illusion design book that only 1000 copies were print and sells for upwards of $700. My copy looks untouched.All together I’d say even at half retail I brought at least $2000 worth of books. Several of them sell for $100-200 just on their own.After waiting over 2 hours for them to “evaluate” my books they called me to the counter and offered me a total of $157I immediately told them to put the books back on the cart and to stack them carefully otherwise I would sue them if any were damaged.I have taken many many books to this and other locations in the past. I never feel completely happy with the offers yet it’s the price you pay for convenience.This offer was INSULTING.I should have charged them $157 just for wasting my time.NEVER will I take books to them again.

This store is a treasure hunt in real life. I love it. Found some great books that I had been searching for and my daughter found the exact Manga she was wanting at better prices than any online store. 5 star!!!

Clean location that seems to be well organized with a large selection. I am especially fond of the kids book area, as my littles burn through stories relatively fast.

They also have a 7 day return policy if the vinyl doesnt function properly.Book selection is vast and at affordable prices. Would visit again and likely will to see what new things they have!

So sad to see some of the books they have on display. Half price used to be that. A discount book store. Now their liberal politics is shown all over the store.

This is a super nice used book store. Good selection and the whole family found at least one thing they liked. Even a super tiny Horton hears a who book that we didnt notice there were no words until after we were gone.

Found some very interesting and cheap books on nutrition and got carried away and got about 10 books 😅 Im a sucker for cheap stuff, and when I went, they also having a sale on the whole store.Some staff really helpful, others...eh...could work on it

Wide variety, very nice employees.Love that all shelves are labeled so its easy to find anything youre looking for, and if you cant, then someone will know where to guide you! I was in a rush but will be back.They also buy everyday but Thursdays if you have books, dvds, magazines, etc you dont need anymore!

Absolutely love this place. Often find what I’m looking for and pay a fraction of the cost. Can easily loose myself in there looking at all the things I never knew I wanted and needed. :) For me, it’s a smaller and way better priced Barns and Noble experience. (Sorry BAN. ) It’s my first ‘go to’ when looking for anything. Neat gift ideas in there as well. Love this place!

This is one of my least favorite locations.Customer service needs improvement.After so long of being shut down with the lockdown and all. You’d think they’d be ready to provide great service. My experience here today was far from good service.The lady I had to deal with her name was Kate. She was extremely rude. No one deserves this type of service. It’s simple man if you don’t want to do your job go home. After she insulted me with her poor skills.I can hear her talking about the incident from all the way of the front of the store. To the back where books are purchased how unprofessional. Her demeanor is unacceptable. I walked away before going down to her level. 👎🏼

I do not like the set up for going by and selling book to them. I do understand its being done due to covid. But I do feel that Half Price is pushing my business away. So few appointment times and can only set them up once a week. Hopefully when this thing past Half Price Books will be back to business as normal.

All I had to do was text a code and I received a web text coupon available on day of purchase. I saved $23.41 with the welcome text coupon. I love a good bargain especially when it’s accompanied by a better deal like this coupon.

Half Price Books is a great chain of stores. But it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for the latest in computer reference books, go somewhere else. However, if you want a good sci-fi or romance book, youll find something. Since most everything is resale, youll find things issued a few years ago and further back. This store is very clean and well organized. The comic book section isnt nearly as large as the main store, but I was still able to find several issues I was looking for.

Whats not to love about Half Price Books! Well maintained shelves, extremely friendly, helpful staff. Never too busy to help you find what you are looking for... no matter your age..6 yr or 76. It is always the first place my grandchildren request to shop when they visit from Colorado!

Can never walk out with just 1 book

Come in to start a new crime novel series and get books for my grandchildren. Prices were not a deal. Compared their prices to Amazon kindle, and Amazon beat the prices hands down. I prefer an actual book over electronic devices, but I got 4 books in the series for approximately same price as 1 book here. I will continue to check back and see what treasures I can find here. We will see.

Has a great selection of books. I wish the kids books were better priced but the selection is nice and the staff is knowledgeable. A good place to sell old books too. They offer nice prices for books we no longer need and make my kids feel special for passing along books to other kids! My family spends a lot of time here. I love this one by far though! Its clean and they encourage reading in the store!! The staff has also made some great suggestions for books to read!

First and foremost, this is one of my favorite places to dig for old and obscure records, hands down. They carry a lot of current stuff too.. but I like finding those hidden gems tucked away in the clearance bins. Having said that, I also love this bookstore. Huge selection, great prices, friendly staff - they also pay decent for your old books.

These prices and book selections are awesome. The staff is very friendly as well. Sometimes they don’t have the newer books you might be looking for, but that is ok. They can place a hold for you at a nearby half price. Definitely will be going back 10 out of 10.

Great store, not my personal favorite but they still have a phenomenal selection. The clearance book shelf always has hidden treasures on it. If its on your mind, this store probably has it somewhere, regardless if its a book, movie or CD. Would recommend.

As far as a bookstore I love it. But do not sell your books here if your trying to get a decent price. I spent 160$ on the books I got here without tax and brought them back with the price tags still on them. Same condition. They offered me 20$. I know a business needs to make money but..... come on. Pretty much the reason we dislike big business so much.
