What is the point of curbside pickup if you 1) repeatedly put people on hold when they call after waiting outside but never picking up the call again, 2) won’t bring it out because you say you don’t have enough time to take things outside? If you don’t intend to offer curbside pickup, don’t offer it.Please hire the staff you actually need instead of putting everyone in this situation. Or don’t offer options you don’t intend to staff.UPDATE: I returned two months later and tried curbside pickup again. This time when you call, they just let the phone ring and ring and then they drop you. They don’t even bother to put you on hold. So I kept calling. Did eventually get both parts of my order 13 minutes after I arrived and checked in via the app.UPDATE: I returned a third time to try and do curbside pickup. HALF AN HOUR after I placed my ordered, I came in to a staff completely in disarray. They’re not answering phones. I’m standing here inside, which entirely defeats the purpose. Staff is out of what I ordered and I’ve just asked for a refund. Don’t expect service is any reasonable timeline.
The bagels are good and so is their choices of cream cheese. Even the bagel sandwiches are good. Problem I have is with the customer service here. I get that its the morning time and it can be frustrating but I think they need to find a morning person to work the cashier station. They acted like they are giving away the bagels for free from the goodness of their own heart and charity. Fix the customer service and this place is a an easy 4 star location for bagels.
This use to be one of my go to breakfast places for almost 20 years, but not anymore. Several issues with the last few visits. First the coffee has been borderline undrinkable. I do not believe that they are routinely cleaning well their coffee carafes. I have found debris in two of the last three cups and I have had to throw out and try another carafe twice recently because the coffee tasted bad. Also, the milk that they are using for the coffee has been spoiled, almost curdled on one visit and today it just tasted bad. Secondly, they appear to have significant staff shortages. Previously, they would have two to three times more people working a shift, especially on Sunday mornings than I have seen recently. Kudos to the staff there, they are working hard and well, but they are insufficient to meet the demand and long lines/waits are common. Finally, because of the staff shortages, they are routinely out of certain items and that never used to happen. Such a come down from their usual standards.
Food was good never been here before. Its like a sandwich shop for bagels. Its not just a breakfast place. They make sandwiches for everything even for a pizza bagel. They have various teas, coffee, and soft drinks. The food was good and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come again someday Im passing buy. 🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯🥯🥖🥖🥖🥖🥯
It started off as a weekly visit to NEVER AGAIN. Word of advice: if you’re going to stop a customer from placing an order to assist the prior customer, make sure you keep that same system and not pick and choose. Thankfully I had enough sense to walk out rather than listen to the other customers fuss about me not getting served. I gave it two stars because of the lady who always serves me and keep a smile on her face. Thankfully ol faithful was up the street. It was their pleasure to serve me.
Sassy back talking manager/cashier. Forgot to give me a coffee cup and harassed me about sitting at a table while my food took 15 min to be prepared. Terrible customer service
2 stars for customer service and cleanliness at this particular location. slow service even though they seem to have plenty of staff. 15min wait for 2 bagel sandwiches. No more than 6 customers. No one acknowledges you or smiles. Floors visibly filthy. Coffee/drink Bar spills all over.. food is typical bagel stuff, nothing special. 3 star for food.

Hadnt been to an Einstein Bros in several years. Glad I went today. The coffee was very good as was the Nova Lox bagel. Lots of new menu items at reasonable prices.Actually I went there 3 times today. Once for myself, again for my wife and the 3rd time for my sister. All of us were very pleased with our food and drink selections.
Been here several times over the years. Service is varies from slow to really slow. They take so long and now wont even let you sit while you wait for your order, which usually takes a long time. Instead of being asked to get up, customers are yelled at in a harsh tone to get up. Slow service plus a lack of care when speaking to customers about their store policy is a big negative.
The customer service here went downhill so much lately. This shop used to be so nice with polite staffs, now they’re just rude and full of attitude. I ordered a half dozen with a cream cheese tub and asked for the bagels to be cut. As I got in my car, I realized I didn’t get a cream cheese tub, so I went in and asked if I could get one, the man said he doesn’t know who I am and that he doesn’t remember me at all (I was there just now!). I ended up having to buy a separate cream cheese tub even though it should’ve been included. Didn’t wanted to make a scene for a $2.99 tub of cream cheese but this was just horrible customer service. Later when I went home I found out my bagels weren’t even cut too. The bagels are generally good but the horrible employees are not worth it. Been here for years but won’t again.
The experience was okkk.... first of all i specially told them no bacon but they put bacon on my bagel and then i asked them to change it they changed that.... but they didn’t cut my bagel .... and finally i will like its okk.... about to eat .... i found the bagel i asked for, they gave me a different one ... so wrong bagel ..... its just the whole experience ruined my day....

I stopped by at 8:10am today and ordered the Classic Egg (sausage, one egg, and cheese). While waiting for my sandwich, I noticed the cook who had gloves on took his phone out of his pocket and started using it (probably texting or checking for messages).He put his phone back in his pocket and started preparing an order without washing or changing his gloves. When I unwrapped my sandwich at work, the egg was missing. So I called the restaurant and informed Savannah about it. She said come back and she will give me the egg. I wanted a hot sandwich so I asked her to make a new one with everything I ordered which she did. The next time I go here I will definitely check my order before leaving.
First time I’ve experienced slow and inaccurate service here. Understaffed, they managed to make ordering bagels excessively complicated. Only one register forced orders to be yelled which resulted in multiple repeated questions and clarifications. As a result, oders went in wrong and even the credit card took multiple attempts to charge. This is a store that operates for frequent visitors who know their orders.
Every time I come here there are new employees that dont know how to do anything properly. I try to go to a different location if possible.

Bad - Set up app to save time. Arrived at curbside, waited the suggested 2-3 min before calling to let them know I was waiting...placed on hold and never heard back. I went in and they no idea about the order. I had to reorder. Good - The lady at the register had a nice attitude.

Today was my first experience with this specific restaurant and I have to say it was a great one! The cashier was on top of his work and also made me feel welcome. The food was delicious and the coffee was yummy!
I am giving one star because I cant give less. These ppl do no listen to the customer and do not deliver what is asked. Multiple ppl in front of us complained that they did not slice the bagels or picked wrong bagels. We had both issues. In addition we told 2 staffers that we wand the well baked Asiago cheese bagels on the front, but they gave us others. When we complained a third staffer pulled the tray so we cant see it and continued offering us poorly baked bagels. We are buying bagels from this place since it opened and never had problems before.Peter Dimov

Slowest and most inefficient food service in Virginia. I always have to wait a long time to get my orders, however this was the last straw when I waited 30min for them to put 6 uncut bagels in a bag; I had to get my money back and leave since my order was still nowhere in sight after 30min. Do yourself a favor and never go here.
I have a sesame seed allergy. It can be a tough ask ordering at a bagel place. The person who took my order took extra precautions by adding notes to my order, verbally telling the person preparing, and then following up to ensure my order was sesame free. Would come back time and time again for that kind of care and allergy friendly attention.

After one bite, there was a long piece of hair dangling through my teeth. Bagels and smear are wonderful as is the strawberry banana smoothie. I was disappointed when I arrived at work to see I had no straw for my smoothie.
I would put 0 stars if I could. As I ordered my food the staff was very rude and seemed very upset with me for no reason. As I ate my food on one of the outside tables, one of the employees came out for their smoke break right next to me. She didn’t care that I was eating right there and continued to smoke and fill the air around me with smoke.
Visited this location on a Saturday morning and the service overall was plain horrible. It had been over a year since I last came, but expected similar experience given the brand. Unfortunately, there were some obvious changes with the ordering system and staff (not for the better). After waiting in line for about 15min--not bad given the time period--I placed an order for 3 breakfast bagels. Although, I hadnt checked the order after obtaining the receipt, the cashier shouldve verified the order as is customary. Upon receiving my breakfast, I noticed two of the three bagels were wrongly entered. The preparers frustratingly asked me to return to the cashier where there was still a long line of customers. I needed to get a credit which I explained to the cashier, but to no avail... she simply verbally directed the preparers to redo the order. Within a few minutes of receiving the correct bagels, I asked the cashier once again for the partial refund, but told me in a snarky manner go ahead and enjoy your breakfast. I just gave up, because it was not worth the time it wouldve taken for $2 which I wouldve gladly tipped if the service merited it. Save yourself the grief, skip this place, and find another breakfast joint!
I LOVE Einstein Bros Bagels. Truly. Thats why I showed up to this exact shop not once, but twice in the same day. Once at 9:20, and later at 10:00. When we first arrived,theres a line of 7 people, and no progress was being made on that line. So we decided to leave and come back later. When we did that, the line had more than doubled in size. We waited for about 5 minutes, but after again no progress was made, we decided to cut our losses and go to Dunkin.

Came with an attempt to get breakfast on a Saturday morning. We went in and stood in line for over 15min, where the line didnt budge at all before we just left. Several people left as well during the time we were there. There was no announcement on situation or ETA, no apologies from staff. This place needs to be staffed better for breakfast rush hour, youre losing potential customers.
Love Einstein bagels, but never again will I step foot in this shop. Went there to pick up half a dozen bagels, not sliced, not toasted, just needed them picked and bagged and Im out the door. Wrong. They made me wait with the rest of the customers that had ordered custom sandwiches instead of spending literarily 30 secs bagging my bagels and having on my way. 15 mins passed and only 2 of the 8 customers ahead of me received their order. Then I noticed that they were also preparing delivery orders (Doordash, etc.) ahead of preparing walk-in customer orders. At this rate, Id be in line for another 30 mins to get my order. Just at that point, I also happened to look down and see a dead cockroach in the middle of the shop, right there on its back for all customers to see. At that point, I politely requested a cancelation of my order. Didnt get an apology or explanation - they just cancelled my order and off I went.So to sum up, horrible customer experience and service with clearly no training or appreciation for their walk-in customers. Ill get my Einstein bagel fix from Costco - clean, cheap, and comes with great customer service.
I use to enjoy stopping by here in the mornings to grab a coffee and the occasional bagel but this establishment has steadily been declining in service and consistency. Its generally understaffed (nevermind the unfriendliness) and the coffee bar is a mess. Its hit or miss if youll get cold to lukewarm coffee or an empty pot. Where you order and where you pay always changes, leaving customers frustrated.Ive tried on numerous occasions to give the benefit of the doubt and chalk the experience up to a rough/busy morning for the staff, but the inconsistencies continue to multiply. If youd like a great Einsteins experience, do yourself a favor and drive to the Springfield (Old Keene Mill Rd) location.

Amazing food but the line takes forever. Theyre always understaffed. The employees are efficient and pleasant but they need more. I watched 3 people walk out because of the 18 person line and I myself am always reluctant to stop here unless I have lots of time to wait. I can only imagine how much repeat business theyre losing do to the time it takes to get a bagel.
Absolutely unbelievable. I can’t even begin to express how ridiculously slow this location is. I have been here for 15 minutes and they have not helped one single person. The line has 13 people in front of me waiting to order. There are 6 people waiting for their order that they already placed. 12 people are behind me. This location is notorious for being terrible, but I normally put up with it. Not one single employee has apologized for the wait. I really hope someone from management reads this and understands just how bad it’s gotten. 4 people have walked out already. Wow.
Expect at least a twenty minute wait to order on weekend mornings. Frequently the coffee urns are empty. Often they are out of tubs of plain cream cheese. They are always running low on popular flavors of bagels, which given the slow rate of service is surprising. Main Street bagels is a little further down the road and had much better food, service, and is family owed.
I went multiple times while visiting the area for a week. A bit inconsistent on keeping the coffee stocked. Otherwise good food, friendly service, and a decent cup o Joe.

Please specify if a customer should move to the final checkout to order a drink only. I stood in line (by the bagels) only to be told to go to next checkout to order a drink only. To have to stand in 2 separate lines and then wait for the drink to made is to long. I should have been able to order the drink at the first check out (next to the bagels) and then go to the second checkout to pay while my drink order is being made. Left without ordering after standing in 2 lines for 15 minutes.A sign posted above the last checkout would be helpful that read : DRINK ORDERS ONLY.
Covid safe, quick service, good bagel
The drinks were fantastic however, my bacon, egg and cheese came without bacon even though I asked twice made my morning very sad. The sandwich still wasnt bad but my heart was set on bacon that morning. The avocado bagel wasnt worth it imo.
I am not sure what happened to the review I posted 15 minutes ago and why it has been deleted, so I am replacing the old one. We used to enjoy this place, but not anymore. I am talking about the Fairfax, Main Street location. The majority of restaurants let their patients to eat inside since last winter, but not Einstein Bros. Thats just rediculous! We tried to visit in May, gave it another try last weekend - still no sitting inside. Well, you are not the only ones who makes Nova Lox, guys! We found another place nearby with bigger bagels and way more cream cheese, salmon, onions and capers inside. And they also had enough sitting place inside and outside. So, keep loosing your customers, Einstein Bros Bagels!

Need to retrain management in this location. Unprofessional, for a customer service industry, treating clients like they are doing us a favor. Wait time is unbelievable, responses to clients request even worse. This is the management, not the staff, that is what honestly makes it not even worth going here
While the food is good the service is by far some of the worst in Fairfax. If it werent for the taste we would NEVER visit this location. No matter what we order, it takes no less than 20 minutes for our order to be ready. It should not take that long for a bagel. Unacceptable in a customer service environment.
They have great options, I love the spinach bagel. You can also customize to your liking which is great. I would give 5 star if the coffee is also any good.

What happened? There were plenty of folks working here,but I still waited around 5 minutes to get 6 bagels put in a bag?They changed how they take your order to a very inefficient method. I had to tell the cashier my order but had to step back past people to remember/read the bagel names I wanted.They used to take the order while you were beside the bagel display. Hope this is an off day and not a regular thing now. But based on other reviews, it seems I may have to travel further for better service.

I really enjoy this place. It can get busy during lunch, especially during the school year, however its a great place to go for a cup of coffee or tea.
The service here seemed a lot better until a month ago. Originally, I wasnt sure why, but someone told me it coincided with a change in management? Anyway, I hope the quality goes back up because I used to really like this place.

I love thier bagels! Service is decent but can get very busy depending on the time of your visit! Friendly atmosphere! I would suggest this as a good place to get your coffee, tea, and or a toasted bagel or sandwiches!

Great place to work. Very helpful and friendly staff. Its also a very busy store. Which makes the day go by very fast. The customers are great and patient. We sometimes have a non stop line of customers for over an hour at a time. Which is great. But if ever you feelyou are in a hurry please dont hesitate to call ahead or place your order online the day before it will fresh and ready to go for ypu upon arrival. Thanks Einstein family for this great opportunity I Love It.
Woefully understaffed. Very long wait both to order and to receive order. Staff is confused and constantly pulled to do something other than their job. The only saving grace is that the food is good. Otherwise it is like being in Purgatory.
The place was not clean. Tje avocado toast was salty amd the bagel burmed. This place used to be good. A long long time ago.
This is a great place to stop and grab a bagel and some coffee while heading to work. They have a large variety of bagels and you can make your own sandwich.

Great staff, bad management. Sometimes, like today, I just walk out because they dont have chicken salad made or they cant put 6 uncut bagels in a bag for 30 minutes. Their staff needs some positive encouragement and guidance... probably huge raises since they deal with high volume..or at least they would have high volume if it was a great place. They seem short staffed often.

I like the main manager here, but as of lately I have no seen him. It appears as though they are under staffed here. The tables are always messy and when I asked the cashier (Heather) she said they would get cleaned, but by who? They have no additional help for the customers needs to ensure its clean. Id like to also add that Heather is not a pleasant person to have at the register, she is not enthusiastic, and dont get me wrong, I know its a cashier job, but please be happy and smile. Thats the least you can do.
The last two times I have gone there, they were out of everything and plain bagels. It seems like professional bagel places would keep these in stock. Who wants a bacon egg and cheese on a blueberry bagel (for example)?Also their customer service has also gone downhill over the last few years. I used to go there almost every week and the staff was nice and worked hard. Now they don’t smile and they don’t seem like they care if you were there or not.I can’t comment on how the food tastes since I walked out prior to getting food.

This place used to have terrible service and attitude. I recently ventured back after avoiding it for a few years to discover their service has drastically improved. The employees were friendly and helpful and the service was quite fast. Very pleased to see these improvements.
I feel so bad to give 2 stars but I have to. I dont know if its only today Saturday at 10am but we had to basically wait 20mins to get our food to go. I dont know if they were understaffed or what was going on but it was unbelievable to a point were they didnt have anybody taking any orders anymore cause they were sooo behind with the ones who had already ordered. The quality of the food and taste is soooo good, if you dont mind waiting, go cause I loved the options and flavors.... and the staff was super nice, I really dont think it was their fault but management needs to provide more support for them.
They have terrible customer service, and the food was worse than any other Einstein I have visited. I asked for a specialty bagel with NO BACON for religious reasons and the first bite I took had BACON in it, unbelievable! The other bagels I ordered were not toasted and had way too much cream cheese in them. It took 45 min for me to get my order of 3 bagels, and I saw multiple other people walk out and get refunds for their orders after waiting. One of the cashiers was even sick, and coughing while on the job. All in all, this is has probably been the worst experience at an Einstein I have ever been too.
As the person before me wrote: horribly slow is an understatement. This place is pathetically bad customer service. Only 3 people behind the counter on Feb 6 which is National Bagel Day. No concerns or apologies to the customers waiting in line. Children losing patience waiting in line.I think the corporate should take heed and do something about this franchise.Will not come here ever again and would recommend the same for everyone.

It used to be my favorite bagel place for couple years. I came today and asked if they have almond milk, a lady at the register said yes, and I ordered almond milk cappuccino with whipped cream medium size and she charged me for latte and then said it’s ok, it’s the same price. I got my “cappuccino” killed that whipped cream and realized there is just reg fat free milk and no coffee and moreover it’s not hot at all. I came back and asked for new cup so I can get just regular coffee instead and this, lady dump that coffee and gave me the same cup back. All the coffee brewers were empty except the one with dark roast. I asked for refund and the cashier said she isn’t capable so I asked to see a manager. When manager came in he only listened for her opinion about this issue but not mine. In front of me and a manager this lady said that I finished that cappuccino. She was smiling very sarcastic. Manager said that they won’t return my money. I got very upset and left. That was actually not a first issue which this gentleman (a manager) I don’t know his name, he didn’t introduce himself. Very unprofessional. Still want to get my money back.
Avoid this place. Horribly slow. Coffee area constantly out of stock and empty. Took OVER 30 minutes to get a buttered toasted bagel. And the entire place is messy as if it had not been cleaned in ages. Completely disorganized. Such a shame.

Some of the best bagels and the sandwich are awesome. I like to create my own bagel sand which from scratch. The french toast bagel is awesome.
Slow service, iced coffee tasted like ashes, screwed up my order and the remade sandwich was mediocre at best. I wont be coming back. Its a shame because previous visits were far better.
Good Food, but the Service is just too inconsistent. It can take thirty minutes to get through the line and order a simple breakfast. The last time we went there was smoke coming from one of the machines (Burning breadcrumbs according to staff) and when someone pointed it out the staff were very short with customers and each other. The line was also out the door, but they only had one person doing all the orders which was very slow.
This is the worst place ever! I was waiting for a plain bagel for 30 MINUTES not including me waiting in line. The people that were in the back of the line when I was still waiting for my food getting there orders before me. I was late for my doctors appointment because of this place. I will only go back if I get free bagels. There SUPER understaffed. Again, worst place ever.
Completely disgusting. Tables were all dirty, floor hasnt been vacuumed in months, and the workers were lethargic and obviously hated life. The manager seemed to just get by with the poor work staff she had to deal with. They didnt give me my potato salad side dish either. Didnt ask for it. Didnt want it after seeing the bathrooms.
